On The Triviality Of Campaign Promises And "Letting The Process Work Its Way Through"

Tyler Durden's picture

Statement 1

Statement 2

Statement 3

From AP:

"Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and National Economic Council
Director Larry Summers both sidestepped questions on Obama's intentions
about taxes. Geithner said the White House was not ready to rule out a
tax hike to lower the federal deficit; Summers said Obama's proposed
health care overhaul needs funding from somewhere.

I voted for Barr. He's not the 'perfect' guy by any means, but I liked what he had to say a lot better than any of the other ones running. So I gave my 'useless', 'futile' vote away. It's not like I feel like less of a man that I didn't pick the winner.

now here's an idea.  wait for sovereign currency crisis, then poor our money buy up the nation for pennies on the dollar.   hell we'd probably inherit the air force so we'd have a chance to defend it.

lets see -- who's on the potential short list for sovereign currency crisis -- which could be purchased by project mayhem and affiliated agencies and groups --

Hungary  (huge potential here, budapest is elite.  right on the river.  just forget the iconic image of Russian tanks rolling in.)

Ukraine (project mayhem's home country.  plus tymoshenko is hot despite being an FSB agent.

see: http://media.photobucket.com/image/tymoshenko/Hohopelli/General/yulia-ty...

Greece: though barely able to pay their hospital workers, and regularly scheduled riots by Debord influenced youth, Greece has some nice beaches.  Watch those sovereign CDS boys , it may be time to catch this falling knife!

Portugal : they've decriminalized all druq use.  we probably can get aphex twin to be secretary of state if we play our cards right.

PM you are wrong ... i say Croatia ... at this moment is politically unstable, BUT it has 1500 miles of open sea, its in a strategically vital geopolitical position, it has about 25 000 square km of arable land, vast natural resources ( 3rd largest sweet water capacity in Europe ) and people are used to revolutions, they have one every 10 yrs on average + it is not in the EU, so banksters can do shit, and it has only 4 million people .... i say easy target ...

EDIT: + all new infrastructure needed for conducting business, but we would have to do something about the whole drug issue there. and if we put our minds into it we could rule the world :D

OLD FELIX:

May I suggest you should have pointed out the job title and description:

Job Title: Corrections Officer – Internment/Resettlement Specialist

Job Description

As an Internment/Resettlement Specialist for the Army National Guard, you will ensure the smooth running of military confinement/correctional facility or detention/internment facility, similar to those duties conducted by civilian Corrections Officers. This will require you to know proper procedures and military law; and have the ability to think quickly in high-stress situations. Specific duties may include assisting with supervision and management operations; providing facility security; providing custody, control, supervision, and escort; and counseling individual prisoners in rehabilitative programs.

By joining this specialty, you will develop the skills that will prepare you for a rewarding career with law enforcement agencies or in the private security field

Coupled with this story out of Texas:

FEMA report detailing Palmer ‘population removal’ section missing

JOEY G. DAUBEN
The Ellis County Observer

PALMER, TEXAS – The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s reports of how to mitigate potential civil uprisings and disasters have sections dealing with the mass relocation and confinement of citizen populations: except in Palmer.

The City of Palmer and the Palmer Police Dept., according to a former reporter for The Ellis County Press who requested the FEMA documents for three months, have the federal plans but the section instituting population relocations came up missing.

“I have already talked to [Palmer PD Chief Mike Zaidle] about FEMA in Palmer the section of the emergency management plan regarding moving people into camps is totally gone from the 3 inch binder,” said Brandy Owen, the former reporter who penned a series of articles on the Trans Texas Corridor last year. “There is a chapter or [section in] it but the section is gone from the plan.

“He [Zaidle] is quite aware of federalization and says he has tried to be ‘compliant’ and make proper arrangements for housing people in the high school gymnasium and other places,” she said. “FEMA always tells him his plans are inadequate.”

Recently, plans were announced by the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office to team up with local church pastors for a “safety seminar.” Some critics of the federal government plans involving local police agencies and churches cite FEMA’s attempt to “quell” dissent and facilitate the confiscation of guns from private citizens.

“A shocking KSLA [Shreveport] news report has confirmed the story we first broke last year, that Clergy Response Teams are being trained by the federal government to ‘quell dissent’ and pacify citizens to obey the government in the event of a declaration of martial law,”

You guys can do a lot of other research to back this all up. Myself, I do an immense amount daily research to get an edge trading energy. Over the last few years it became quite evident what was coming, when it was coming, and the government has benen planning for it on all levels for quite some time. Bush laid the ground work. Now, Obama is going to finish the job. It will be so much easier to do so because the people have elected what they think is change. But,he PTB know that they can maintain that illusion for only so long until there are pitchforks in the street. Look for a major-and I mean MAJOR- distraction to clamp it all down, take away our rights, and hit the reset button and consolidate this all under some global scheme. Keep up the good fight my friends.

In the 90's we have seen the same thing happening. I remember we suddenly got 2 taxbills, and since then we never really got rid of it. We still pay 57% taxes on our salery and now during this crisis, they are yet again speaking of raising taxes.

When we go to fill up our car, I pay about 72 euro for a full tank. thats about 100 dollars.

I make 5200 euro a month, and when at the and of the month that leaves me 2200 euro.

Sure we have "free" health care. It only costs me 150 euro a year. But I also have a extra insurance that costs me 100 euro a month. Because if your hospitalized and only have state care, well, lets put it like this: I hope its not serious because they only let you have so much.

Pension? They just blew that fund to save our banks. And if you would look to our banks, they are in a lot worse shape than american onces.

So when people talk of green shoots. I say this: we will be paying for those weeds for decades to come!

The only real way to save for our pensions was by building a house, pay for it our whole lives, and when you strike 65, you sell it and start EATING IT UP TILL YOU DIE!

And what is left, your kids will inherit after paying 60% taxes on it.

Don't we all love kapitalisme?

I got my pplz to move their money from stocks to cash and precious metals about 10 months ago.  They are still thanking me lol.   For cash, we put some in physical USD, and some in short-term CDs at a reliable local bank with low CRE exposure. For precious metals, we put it in one ounce investment coins.

I'd weight slightly more towards cash at the moment, but I definitely wanted both because they hedge each other through inverse correlation.   Btw this ain't investment advice, it's just what I did.

Well to be honest my projections are to see the S&P retest the 666 low by the end of the year.  So I'd sell any general stocks asap --   you should not be in these markets unless you are a trader.  There has been huge insider selling during this engineered rally.  The problem is convincing someone who's lost 20-40% that the markets will actually be going much lower.    This is hard to do considering the massive media propaganda machine spewing blather to the contrary,.

I mean yeah, this rally might run another few weeks.   To be honest I'm surprised it has run as long as it has.   But something has to give.   Either the  A) the US Treasury Complex,  B) US Dollar,  or C) Equities.    Or some combination of A, B and C.   So personally, if I had money in, I'd get out of the stock markets entirely, immediately.   I much prefer currency risk to market risk -- especially if my currency risk is hedged with precious metals or foreign currency.

What are you going to do when the markets finalize realize they are trading on a fantasy with P/E of somewhere between 20-100x depending on who's counting and how?   This is a minimum 40-50% decline from where we are now.   I say sell the stocks immediately and move the IRA into cash and precious metals.  You want that money back and immediately accessable in case you need it.  Things are going to get dicey over the next 18 months.

Well considering the rally is just about exhausted from multiple perspectives, I'd put in a sell order tomorrow if it was me.  Yes of course we could his 10k on Dow, youd make an extra 10-12%, but is the risk/reward here worth it?   Probably not considering we could see a relatively quick decline down to 7.6k then next stop is around 5.5k in terms of technicals if my memory serves me properly.   Anyway , things like IRA or 401k requests take several weeks to process.  Plus the risk is to the downside at this point.  Timing an exact top or bottom is notoriously hard to do.

Losing it to taxes sucks yes.  But in this sort of environment you want return 'of your money' rather than return 'on your money'.  If there is a way to roll this IRA over into cash that may be a decent alternative.  You may have to switch custodians though.  So this would be paperwork hell, hours on the phone probably,  but personally I'd think it's worth it.  Even if you can't move any of the IRA into precious metals, it's safer and more liquid to have your IRA in cash or short term CDs.  You can always take some from of your regular savings to purchase some PMs to hedge the potential currency risk.

There will be more taxes, with or without healthcare. It's either that or a bond market / currency implosion.

It's like we are all caught up in an Orwell novel. They know the economy is ruined, but no one has the foritude to step up to the mic and be honest about it. The hustle just won't stop until the middle class is completly penniless.

The lines from the shelters, pawn shops and soup kitchens may stretch from the Golden Gate to the Statue of Liberty, but the perennially upbeat predictions of a "bottom in housing" or an "economic turnaround" will continue to blast from every media bullhorn in the nation. America's financial media and elected officials are a never ending source of baseless optimism and hogwash.

Absolutely correct.  And as far as I am concerned healthcare IS a tax increase disguised as a social program.  We will all pay more and get less, and guess who gets the difference?

If only he would hold a non-scripted, non-planted Town Hall, that would be worth watching.  Hopefully like these:

They raise taxes I work less. Funny how that works. If they keep pushing I'll go on the welfare.

I don't have to work. It would be oh so easy to show no visible means of support. Those assclowns think they make all the decisions?

Loss Giving

Do you want to know what the "rally" from march till now did....

Have you ever heard of 'Loss Giving'?

Tell me why the news never reports...."Today the market rose due to loss giving"

They have no problem saying "The market fell on profit taking"

Another way to think of it....when the market rises someone is inducing buying at a higher price then the current shareholders bought at....hence the current shareholders are infact taking (or locking in) profits. So, when the market rises, people are taking (or realizing profits) and the new buyers are infact loss giving as they are buying at prices higher than what the current holders think it is worth...hence the newbies are the Greater FOOLS

Keep an open mind the the manipulation of everything by the press, remember, believe nothing you hear, and only half of what you see.  Remember, the HTF is faster than the eye.

I say that all of the "support" from the fed, fdic, occ and the rest should be paid by their member institutions.

The rest of us should redeploy colonial scrip.  To heck with fractional banking.
