Are you kidding me? The US markets will be positive by morning. PPTs will kick in. The futures just hit the 100 day MA and are soaring north. I was astonished by the non-chalant manner of the US markets today.

There is a limit to the banksters ability to manipulate the markets. For example, most of their dirty work is done during light trading. Tomorrow we may see a limit to what the dirtbags are capable of doing.
Never have commented on ZH, but seeing how the Nikkei is evaporating before all of our eyes, I think it is time to transfer out of emerging markets and euro/pacific growth. Prayers to the japanese people.

Why is it sensible to shut down the market when information is needed the most?
To calm the nerves of the masses while the big players pull their wealth out perhaps...prob the same reason they have a Bank Holiday.

there are so many things that have gone wrong. now it looks like the spent fuel rods stored on the roofs (why in gods name the roofs) are heating up. if you read carefully that is what was burning in reactor 4. thing is reactor 4 was shut down at the time the quake hit
