USPS Stops Accepting Mail To Canada
But before people scream bloody murder that the USPS finally went bankrupt (3 months ahead of schedule), the blame for this one actually lies with socialist Canada, where the Canadian Union of Postal Workers is continuing its strike, making deliveries of all sorts of unmarked boxes to incognito recipients quite problematic. As a result, "the U.S. Postal Service will suspend accepting mail destined to Canada -- effective Saturday, June 18, 2011, 11:59 p.m. CDT -- with the exception of Global Express Guaranteed shipments." Hopefully Americans trying to reach friends and neighbors in the far more solvent northern neighbor will be able to make do with email attachments for the indefinite future. "As a convenience to our customers and to minimize service disruptions, we arranged to accept mail destined for Canada as long as possible," said Giselle Valera, vice president, Global Business. "We will continue to closely monitor the strike situation, and once Canada Post resumes operations, the U.S. Postal Service will again begin accepting mail for Canada. We also will then resume processing any Canadian-destined mail currently held in our network." Next up: outbound mail to Europe halted indefinitely (except for shipments of secret Fed-originating cash of course), where we are stunned that the local socialist union of postmen still believe in showing up to work daily.
From the full release:
To avoid service disruptions or delays -- regardless of the duration
of the strike at Canada Post -- U.S. Postal Service customers can
continue to send letters and packages via the Postal Service's Global
Express Guaranteed (GXG) service. GXG is a premium, date-certain
international shipping option with international transportation and
delivery by FedEx Express. GXG is available online at www.usps.com and at thousands of participating retail locations throughout the United States.
Additional information and updates regarding acceptance and movement of international mail is available at www.usps.com/communications/news/serviceupdates.htm.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating
expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to
fund its operations.

Socialist Canada?
Are you feeling OK, Tyler?!
I moved to Canada because it is less Socialist than USA. Honestly I pay a lot less income taxes here in Canada than I did in USA.
What is your effective tax rate?
did anybody just see rob mcewen tell pimm fox that the bank of england were brilliant traders, they sold theie last ounce of gold for 250.00,,......to fuckin funny....pimm was trying to be a anti gold douche bag
Nigel Farage points out Gordon Brown's stupidity when it comes to selling gold at about 2:20.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDwQEEAZhWM
I love this Nigel Farage guy. He survived a plane crash.
+1
depends on the province, quebec you get ass raped, alberta has no provincial income and sales taxes im pretty sure so you pay very little in taxes
Tyler made the comment as it relates to the Postal Union strike ... I guess only the rich have a right to lobbying.
Or maybe, the NFL is socialist too?!?
Whatever!
And once and for all ... taxes go well beyond income ... as do loopholes and rules that allow the Oligarchy to 'legally' evade
I think Tyler was thinking 'free healthcare for all'... (by-the-way, yum yum to that!).
you must mean no-middle-man healthcare for all ... or maybe no-20%-premium-increase-a-year healthcare for all?!
Yes, the NFL is socialist and they are a virtual monopoly.
In Ontario the Effective Marginal Tax Rate for the average worker earning 47k is 31%; top earners (>200k) have an EMTR of 46%
Sales tax is 13% on alomst everything, capital gains are taxed as imcome at a 50% discount and unemployment is standing at 8.1%. There is also a Tax Free Savings Account where capital gains and any income on investments held within it are taxed at 0%
I pay a 44% marginal tax rate here in Saskatchewan. It kicks in at 85K I think. I'll be retiring in 5 months at 50 since investment income pushes all employment income into this tax bracket and I'm tired of paying 6 figures in tax while experiencing the joys of minus 40 every winter. Scottsdales population will increase by one.
I just returned from Arizona. New Mexico is better IMO. Then again, I'm nowhere near retirement
I live in Somalia and it's absolutely gorgeous here. If anyone is really serious about their libertarianism, Somalia is the place to go.
We've got virtually no government, no taxes, no central planning - basically just a gigantic vacuum of power in which fully armed "gangs" fight for domination and control.
Of course, there is always the constant threat that my family will be robbed, raped and killed, but that's a minor concession that I eagerly accept, knowing that the silver inventory at the Comex is not my problem anymore. Besides, I've got enough ammo hidden in my backyard to blow the moon out of orbit. Try and steal my ham and see what happens, bitches.
..... all that, and I haven't even mentioned the weather yet. Just lovely.....
Why do you post this worthless shit you asshole?
Thank you.
We will take that under advisement.
A word of caution though.
In Saskatchewan, the term
"take that under advisement" means
"go fuck yourself".

Highly amusing that the two dimwits above immediately respond with ad hominem. Unable to attack your ideas, they attack you without even mentioning your cleverly crafted argument.
When confronted with new ideas, they either reject or accept them based on their preexisting worldview. Ideas which do not fit this narrow worldview are rejected immediately, without the slighest bit of contemplation. Pathetic. Cheeky Bastard would agree, and dimwits like them are why he has left this board. Despicable.
They are perfect examples of why democracy does not work. They have proven you correct without even realizing it. The irony, it's delicious.
No fatasswilly,
He has posted the same thing on other threads. That is what I'm referring to. You think think it's clever and witty. I think it's off topic and totally irrelevant. What merit do you see in that comment? Or do you just having reading comprehension issues?
No I haven't. Please feel free to copy/paste the "same argument" if you want to prove me wrong. You're just pathetically redirecting your anger to make it appear like you're angry at the "repetition" of my post, not the content.
Somalia is the purest form of libertarianism, so I figured all the anti-government fanatics would be excited to know where they can live their survival-of-the-fittest, anarcho-capitalism, anti-government, anti-regulation dreams.
You NEED the control of government, you WANT the control of government whether you recognize it or not. Human ignorance and raw human behavior are far more evil than the incompetency of unjust government forces.
Your refusal to debate this and revert to insults is a testament to the failure of giving everyone an equal voice.
You have been disgraced on this board so many times before so I won't bother to rehash your pathetic "arguments" once again.
Here's an idea...try sticking with one name RNR, McGoldrick, etc... and then take your statist loving pro gov't crap and shove it up your ass.
You really wish to insult my reading comprehension, imbecile?
Yes, I see that you imply that he has posted this "worthless shit" elsewhere. However, you also call him an "asshole," which is what I am referring to.
No where in your one line response do you address the issue he brought up. You simply dismiss his contrarian viewpoint immediately, without even thinking about it. It was automatic.
Yes, it may be slightly off topic, and if he has posted it elsewhere, I have not seen it. However, repetition and tangents do not warrant the terms "worthless shit, asshole" as you claim they do.
Take your own advice. Read a book about something you do not agree with. It would help your miniscule mind immensely, but I know you will not, because you are one of those dimwits Cheeky Bastard (and now, I) despise so much.
Above, he has already mentioned the merit that I see. Overly oppressive government is undesirable (except for those at the top), of course, but lack of government is more than likely undesirable, too, and probably impossible anyway.
In any case, you are worthless. You have brought no arguments or ideas to the table, nor will you do so in the future. I must, again, tell you to shut the fuck up.
You and RNR have a lot in common. Statist lovers. Yes, I get it.
Nobody ever said anything about not having a form of gov't. You guys just assume things and run with it (like libertarian views), taking it to the extreme all the time. That is why I called it "worthless shit".
RNR is great at editing out old comments, you ought to know that by now, unless you are just completely ignorant and blind.
Please get over yourself. And quit bringing Cheeky into this as he has said nothing about it, you ass kissing wannabee.
Scottsdale is hot as hell in the summer. N. NM may be better. ABQ, NM is nowhere near as hot as Scottsdale. AZ does have the golf courses. N. AZ might be worth a look. Flagstaff. Soros Plan B in 2008 has a place in Sedona. McCain aka Obama's apologist and patsy.
Also check out the 2013 O-Mugabe 2 tax rates coming soon to Zimbabwe-USA. If Zimbab-America does not implode before then. Thank the fvcks here on ZH who voted for Hussein.
Thanks. I spent some time in Elko Nevada previously and found it most agreeable and spent a number of years in the Australian outback which was too hot come summer. I can drop down to a 15% flat tax bracket here in Canada with some sleight of hand and this appears to be to way to go. I was offered a job in Tempe earlier today but I can't figure out how you can bring a guy like me down there with unemployment the way it is. Seems immoral if you ask me.
15% would be hard to beat. The tax rates in 2013 here on investment income/interest/dividend income will be brutal. Cap gains not as bad but higher than those "evil" Bush tax cuts. Our corp tax rates are pretty bad unless you are an approved politburo oligarchy like General Electric.
Weird about Tempe. Phoenix has a lot of defense companies - that is why they keep that democrat McCain in office. Tempe, Phoenix, Scottsdale sort of run together. I have not been to N AZ but heard it is very pretty. N. NM is nice like S Colorado. Cold in the winter around Christmas but probably sweater weather for you. ;-) Best of luck.
I wish I spoke Swedish. The Swedes are making more sense these days are far less socialist. Western Canada (not the one Vancouver is in - BC?) could be Switzerland or Saudi Arabia with the wealth.
In order to get the 15% I will need to sell all hard assets in Canada (condo and car), (while maintaining all investments) move back to Brisbane, be declared a "non-resident" in Canada again and then check off the "no foreign income" box on my Oz tax return and then really live where I want to. Ah, the things we do.
What would your effective tax rate need to be in order to be solvent like Canada?
Try owning a gun there?
Contrary to belief:
http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/facts-faits/archives/quick_facts/2010...
Considering moving up I5 and settling in BC at some point. What are the odds of being able to register 20 or so handguns, rifles, shotguns? I looked over the Mounties website, not very encouraging.
upon what are you taxed less?
I have about 34% deducted at source, then there's sales tax 13%, and add to that the fact that just about everything is 20-40% more expensive in Canada than in states and you suddenly see that it's not as bad in USA as people complain. Well, with the exception that your infrastructure really sucks.
The infrastructure is just fine in my city. Detoilet and Newark are falling apart, but that's due to their own policies.
A touch of sarcasm, with a pinch of an inside joke and one gets a spoonful of socialism.
Well, this is the fine way for our US Post Office to assure delivery of mail by forcing Americans to ship by very expensive and only one means.
I have a feeling there will be quite the migration across border to the Canadian Post by car to ship a letter, card or whatever for the day for those in the Border Statews.
As far as our Post Office is concerned, we are preparing for the eventual failure of the entire system and the loss of junk mail that will not be missed at all.
Mr Brown will be the next big mail deliverer.
Really? Did Mr. Smith not go to Washington?
Brown = +$10 delivery to home addresses.
Cheaper than burning three gallons gas round trip from rural to post office.
Invade Canada (they have silver, gold, oil and beavers)Windsor Ballet
*Disclaimer - I really do love our neighbors to the North. They brought us hockey, Don "Grapes" Cherry (sharp dresser, to the point), the zamboni, Martin Short, Tim Horton's (terrible BTW), and some other...stuff...I think, eh?
Yeah I was thinking about that whole John Candy, Canadian Bacon thing all over again. Time for war against them Hosers from the North, eh?
That didn't go so well last time, yanno...
(Actually...maybe I should agree with my junker. Who wouldn't want to see DC burned again? Hah.)
Tim Horton's (terrible BTW)
Ain't that the truth.
Tim Horton's is TBTF in Canada.
In my town, there are bigger lineups at Timmies than at McDonald's. Don't get me wrong there are still the usual poor customers going to McD's, but Timmies are always full for some reason.
The US-Mexican border guards are busy keeping the wetbacks out but the US-Canada border guards try to lure us over with donuts.
I started to mention Canada's musical contributions, until I decided that Rush, Frank Marino, BTO, et al were very nearly cancelled out by Justin Bieber...and I'm still pissed at Neil Young for "Southern Man".
Nevada should be our next province. After all that's where all our culture is today: Cirque, that skinny french speaking chick whose name escapes me, and soon to be Shania.
LOL! Shania the little hillbilly girl from....Canada!
Devious Canadians. Little Mary whatever her name from calgary wants to break into Nashville. Give me a real poor white trash name like Shania. I never heard anyone named Shania.
Anyway where are zero hedges lefties crying about poor Canadian govt postal union workers in (incredible resource wealthy) third world Canada. Just like Greece. Those poor union Canucks will have to sell their liver for an iPad. ;-)
The joke is as bad as Canadian union anything or auto workers - they are light years more intelligent and capable then USA UAW or Postal union "workers."
I would bet most of the Canadian union workers can read.
"He's the man they call Reveen"

"He's the fuckin' man they call...Reveen" </conky>
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=158_j5kCQBU
Im a Canadian and I can only think of one good thing to say about Neil Young. As long as he is alive, Bob Dylan is not the worst singer songwriter of his generation.
Wow. I don't think I've ever disagreed more with anything I've ever read on ZH ;)
Eh mate, I'd add a caveat to that. Canada is NOT far more solvent if you look at the Bank of Canada's holdings:
http://www.bankofcanada.ca/rates/related/international-reserves/
Yep, that's 3 tons of gold ONLY for a gold rich country like Canada. Fits in Harper's desk, and in not so long, he might just do that!
The rest is, as you guess, USDs.
If the USD goes down the tube to 50 DXY, so does Canada.
our banks are doing fine though and are very solvent due to strict regulations, cant say the same about the states...
Say what? They have huge RE exposure at home and in the US. The bursting Cando housing bubble is going to create havoc down the road for the banks. Prices have already topped out, sales are slowing and foreclosures are on the rise.
I might add that Canadians are even more in debt % wise than Americans.
Too right. I can't believe all the real estate being built at a cost of $150,000/house up here selling like hotcakes for $350,000. A recipe for disaster due to vast pending oversupply.
Dunno about that there 'housing bubble', eh, mate?! Supply and demand (demand from fleeing murkins and wealthy chinoises) leads me to believe that Canada, Australia and Hong Kong won't be re-tracing very far, if at all.
Why does every murkin pundit on this site attempt to make themselves feel better by predicting that other countries have worse problems to deal with? So what if they do? (If, indeed, they do). Clean up yer own backyard first.
Yeah, sure thing i-dog. Come here and check it out for yourself. 11 times income for a home in Vancouver. Victoria, Toronto, Calgary all the same way. I could go on but what's the use. You've bought it hook, line and sinker.
I know, "it's different this time"...
I guess you don't know Canada's version of Ben Bernanke, former Goldman Sachs man, Mark Carney?
The CMHC has been politicized. This is a huge crime.
Like I said: "supply and demand". Supply is limited because little finance is available for new developments, while demand has increased (particularly at the top end) because of economic migration and offshore investment from China and the US to all those places I mentioned (plus a few others).
Those markets that bubbled solely because of the ninja ponzi (US, UK, Ireland) have already crashed. Those that have natural resources and other advantages are unlikely to fall very far, if at all. We'll see which of us has bought "it" hook, line and sinker, in time. Place your bets.
Huge oversupply of homes here in Canada. Buyers not so much. Consumer debt overhang worse than their US counterparts.
Might not be a classic "ponzi" but credit and borrowing has been stretched to the limit by any historical comparison. Foreclosures are rising, and prices are falling. Those are the facts.
And try getting some info on your migration numbers. I haven't seen anyone come up with any firm and reliable figures on that issue at all.
Top up your kool-aid, sir?
You didn't major in accounting, did you?
Its not like we have rich reserves of oil, gold, silver, and other unrefined minerals up North or anything.
Yep, nope, Canada sucks. Blame Canada. America, Fuck yeah, etc. Stay in the US. Everyone, stay. down. there.
Thanks, Welfare Bear.
Tell your snowbirds to stay. up. there.
No!
I have Canadian snowbird neighbors with money. Some of them live year round. They are nice people too.
What is amazing is on their backyard boat dock they fly a US and Canadian flag. They put the US flag above as it is supposed to be. They know more USA civics than 90% of Americans. They are not French Canadians - by and large, you can have them.
They may only have 3 tons of gold (which is weird), but it sure beats the tungsten bars in Fort Knox.
The worst.
They are owned by the Crown and are not in the control of Canadian citizens and will remain so until the country becomes a constitutional republic.
Long live the Queens.
What poor losers.
Genau.

Yeah, sure.

Careful, we wouldn't want another riot in Vancouver now, hehe.
What about Pure Oil Later ? Are they on strike too ...
Well there goes 15% of my ebay business. Same as it ever was...
http://www.ups.com/canada/engindex.html
How about Fedex or UPS?
Long story short, on ebay the customer is willing to pay very little for S/H. If I offer USPS 1st class international ($1.30) I get Canadian customers. If I offer UPS ($13.25), I get no Canadian customers. Been that way since '00, luckily it's not my job job, just some fun on the side..
thats because UPS are a bunch of c***suckers, they charge brokerage fees out the ass to anything shipped to canada, like if a 50% tax is slapped on
ive heard of people paying more in brokerage fees with UPS than the actually cost (purchase + shipping) of the good
Thank you for that post. I ordered something from the U.S. in 2004, the cost for the item was 80$. The person told me it would cost 25$ for shipping via "Brown". Once the Item arrived, the UPS driver told me I owed him another 60$ in fees. I had to pay otherwise I wouldn't get the item. The total cost of the item was now 165$. I had been waiting for that flashlight for quite some time, so I paid.
Never again will I deal with criminals, whether they are a recognized corporation or not from the U.S. Before I made some friends from the U.S. (in the last couple of years) I believed everyone from the U.S. was a greedy bastard just out to get money. I now hold a different opinion. If you run a small business and ship to Canada, don't ask yourself why Canadians won't deal with "Brown". (I don't swear often here, but I do so for emphasis) That is because they are FUCKING CROOKS! That is why Canadians don't want to deal with Brown.
In the States it goes like this- Here's your free punch in the throat. Package delivered.
And don't mind that we crushed your package.
UPS is a f**king union Teamster shop. As far as I know - Fed Ex only union workers were the pilots which is a holdover from when they bought Flying Tigers air freight.
The postal rates are cheaper until both postal services go broke. Harper must be giving em tough love. I wish he were our President.
Break out the Bennigan's coupons and bubblegum.
I'm not your friend, buddy!
I bet Paul Henderson is still receiving his post (as he should).
It's going down just like George Soros says it should.
It's going down just like George Soros should. There, fixed it.
It's getting shot in the face like George Soros should. There, fixed it even better.
The Canadian government is legislating the union back to work next week.
BTW, if Canada is socialist, then the USA is communist.
Calling the USA Communist is SOOOOO yesterday.
We're all members of Crimex now!
CW
The USA is a communist kleptocracy.
I wonder who John Paulson crossed in the Mugabe Politburo?
I run a business here in Ontario and do send packages frequently to the U.S. but lately not by Canada Post. This should be all over by next week as our illustrious and yes on the road to insolvency government will introduce back to work legislation on those postal posties.
By the way Tyler if I'm not mistaken the province of Ontario has more debt per person than that most indebted state of California. Our socialized healthcare with it's dependent and aging population base has effectively and will effectively kill our economy in no time flat. And since most of our exports head due south over the border as that supply chain weakens and cracks we'll join ya in the sewer. We have the highest debt to income ratio of all the G8 nations and an awesome housing bubble to boot. Were just a step behind ya on the money printing front.
Well out here in good old Western Canada, we always belived you ( Ie Ontario ) belonged somewhere else---- and that was a remarkably good case you just made for why you really do belong with our southern scofflaws
BC, Alberta and the Yukon could team up to make a epically wealthy country with insane GDP per capita. But it's not very Canadian to ditch the stragglers.
That said, Harper is moving full steam towards Americanization, which no demographic but the religous and recent immigrants seem to like. Bullish for Western separatism.
I'm a Libertarian from Western Quebec, and if you so wish, I'll suport your separatism (i'm not separatist myself). I do respect other people's wishes no matter how ignorant they are. What we need more in Canada is the original mindset of the first America settlers.
I don't see our current country survive more than another 25 years in its current form.
There may be more close calls, but it's too much of a waste of time and energy. And for what, really? Overall there would be more redundant bureaucracies? We'd get to identify as something other than one of the most well regarded countries ever? Besides, I'm pretty sure Canada is more than the sum of its parts and any separation, beit westward or Quebec, would be regretted.
Please feel free to leave, we're not stopping you, you'd take 90% of the fucking crime out of Canada.
Between Indo and Hong Kong chink drug gangs you pretty make up our crime rate so please - don't slam the door on the way out.
GDP? If you call cornering in the market on Whacked out Honda Civic muffler sales GDP then yes you are correct. You certainly have something there. Every rice rocket in town has one.
Adios
Uncalled for.
Whatever will we do without the bigot population?
I think they have a special place for people like you closer to alabama.
Don't worry we won't miss you and your fine fine contribution to our country.
I spent a week in our belle province last month and I am proud that Quebec is part of our country. When I was 14, I might have posted something like that above but this would be due to personal insecurity.
I think he was refering to Western provinces, because i sure haven't seen any supped up civics around here, lol.
alabama was fine 'til white people f'd it up.
That's just Onterrible.
Yukon? Saskatchewan is pumping 500,000 barrels a day and we have $40B in potash projects underway or on the drawing board. Tiring me out. Yukon has what? Cancan girls in Dawson City???
I was under the impression it's a combination of forestry, mining and tourism. Wiki shows higher GDP per capita in the Yukon than BC. But your point is taken. Throw in Sask and NWT and it would probably be the most resource rich non OPEC country in the world.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Canadian_provinces_and_territories_...
Canada's other biggie is water. It is more improtant than people realize. The most fresh water in the world. I know the US tried to get a pipeline to the SW and CA said "fugget about it." CA is very protective of their water.
Fresh water is a big deal. I am not sure how you monetize that outside of N America. Huge water tankers to China??
China keeps digging deeper wells in their cities but it will become a major problem.
No worries. It's the "per capita" thing that skews matters. If the Yukon included the wolves, moose and bear in the population they would pale on metrics. Then again this would attract higher transfer payments from the feds. Anything north of 60 suffers from lack of roads/rail etc. Real tough country to work in. Spent 9 years in that neck of the woods. Not one day further.
+1
IMHO Canada tends to be 6 months behind whatever big happens in USA.
Didn't Churchill state that Americans always do the right thing.
After they have tried everything else? ;->
ya can't cling to loser forever.

"GXG is a premium, date-certain international shipping option with international transportation and delivery by FedEx Express."
You're telling me people are dumb enough to go to a (bloated, inept, etc.)government--I guess that was redundant--agency and pay a premium to said gov't agency for them to pass off the actual delivery to someone else while they get to keep the premium?
Gotta love the USSA sheeple.
The public employees want sum a dat luxury living from those oil fields out in Alberta....yeah, luxury....spread the wealth around.
Canada post? No one will even notice they're not delivering for four weeks. Seriously.
Fuck. Now I have to walk in and out of BC for my weed. Fuck.
UPS or FedEx it inside a bag of coffee beans, bro...
At least that's what the stoners at the farmer's market tell me...
Not true... The grass is starting to grow back where the postie walks across it every day instead of using the sidewalk.
LOL. So true
This is very bad news for the cannabis trade....a GDP knockdown.
TEOTWAWKI lesson.
Even if you have a moderately high end sports car racing tuned you cannot outrun MZB ( mutant zombie bikers).
The guy I raced thru an old mountain highway was probably better than average, but he easily kept up with me and i was screaming 80 thru some hard turns. The rest of his group couldnt keep up or msybe didnt want to race.
My skid alarm was blinking at me too. I pushed it as hard as I could without racing slicks.
If you see MZB you will have to fight, bottom line.
This was a matter of great philosophical debate when I was playing Car Wars back in the early '90s. Were armed biker gangs a realistic threat. My though always was a definite NO. Motorcycles can't be armored effectively, they react poorly to being bumped by other vehicles, any weapons fire is likely to break something important, it is nearly imposible for the driver to effectively fire a hand weapon (and a passenger would have limited ability to shoot also), furthermore a mounted weapon is going to be difficult to bring to bear, and if it is of any power the recoil is going to be problematic, and the number of bikes it takes to haul around 8 guys is going to probably be the same as a 4x4 Toyota "technical", with the advantage that a "technical" could and has mounted serious heavy weapons. The only useful paradigm for armed biker gangs would be to act as mounted infantry, using the motorcycles to get in and out fast, but not fight from them.
Wait, what was the article we're commenting to about?!?!?
The bike advantage is that it can go places 4-wheel vehicles cannot. Bike-teams could arrange ambushes and traps that would disable cars/trucks, but combat at high-speed doesn't really make much sense for anyone involved.
MZB just have to shoot out one of your tires then scavange what is left.
If they're close enough to have a good chance of shooting out a tire, you should be able to hit them with your vehicle. No one's going to be firing rifles from a motorcycle. The far better bet would be for someone to get in front of you and drop caltrops or something.
(Shooting out tires tends to look easier than it is.)
I work with some marksman at my unit, and I asked them the question. Would it be possible for a guy on a motorcycle to hit a precise target with a hand gun and get accurate result (ie blow a tire, or hit somone inside). The man who answered me is a bald headed retired warrant officer named Bill (one of Canada's top mark'sman). His answer was basicaly, very unlikely, and unless much practice was done riding a motocycle at 75 miles per hour and firing thousands of rounds of ammo to get good at it. I doubt Bikers have that kind of experience of marksmanship.
I call bullshit on anyone telling me they can fire their hand gun from motorcycle and say they shoot tires off. A small caliber has no recoil, but would not pierce a tire rotating at high rate of revolution, a bigger hand gun has recoil, and would most likely destabilize the rider at high speed.
sawed off shotgun. three inch shell. number 3 steel shot. Green laser sight. I can shoot it one handed. Never tried from a motorcycle.
You can learn from Arnold.
If that's not a joke, it should be. I'm visualizing you reloading the thing on a bike and wondering why you'd put a laser-sight on a weapon with an effective range of 15 yards.
Turn off The Road Warrior now, junior, it suppertime.
Laser sights are great point shooting training devices.
Unhook the throttle return spring. Frees up your right hand if your balls are really, really big.
caltrops, no need to shoot, just get ahead and drop the shit, or maybe a crude spike strip, like a few lengths of barbed wire that would unwind after you threw it..
Isn't everyone forgettin' somethin'?
We're talkin' about goddam MUTANT FUCKING ZOMBIE bikers here!!!
You can't kill 'em and they just keep comin' and comin' and comin' and. . . . oh gawd heretheycomeagain!! RUUUUNNNNN!!!
If you're really concerned about your tires being shot out, get a spare set of tires and wheels and have the tires foam filled. They don't balance for crap, so not much good for everyday use, but could be real lifesavers when the turds start flying.
If anything can be learned from the recent middle eastern conflicts, it's that a couple well placed artillery shells and a cell phone can take out even the most expensive military toys.
