Video Of Greek Riot Violence

Tyler Durden's picture

And to think that six months ago images of rioters throwing gasoline bombs at the police were enough to get Waddell and Reed to sell 20 ES contracts...

It's still cheap when only 8 ounces are needed in an airtight vessel.

And there are cheaper substitutes that do worse damage.

well, these thugs dont represent working class at all, they represent the class of anarchists, they have never paid a penny in taxes and probably never voted, they dont starve, they do get fed, they walk around in adidas sneekers and read karl marx and think the world owns them, however they are really stupid, have no education that is worth at least a penny, have no real property, no future other than weed and social benefits SO what exactly are they upset about, its not like the planned to be a database programmers and work 20 hours a day for less than an indian programmer and wanted to bring greece among the most fastest growing countries in the world, no no no

its not like I support the bankers, but a banker is a survivalist, not a drugged thug on benefits looking at the blue sky all day long

this is the most power they will have in their lives

Neither you nor I have any fucking clue what any of those people's backgrounds or thinking might be. NONE. We can take wild over generalized shots in the dark at it, but we don't really know. Your generalizations make you sound like someone spouting off generalizations about people halfway around the world. Tensions peaked outside Parliament, where late on Tuesday night Greek lawmakers voted through new laws cutting wages and jobs at debt-ridden public companies and watering down legislation protecting workers’ rights. Despite vehement protests by opposition parties and objections by some backbenchers of the ruling Socialist party, the new bill passed smoothly into law as the government retains a comfortable majority in Greece’s 300-seat Parliament. The reforms are the latest raft of austerity measures demanded by Greece’s European Union partners and the International Monetary Fund in exchange for a ¤110 billion rescue package granted to the debt-ridden country in May.

NEWS FLASH, THIS JUST OVER THE WIRE:

The Italians team is upset with a judges ruling: An overturned riot van did not constitute a Flaming Riot Van, even though the video playback clearly shows the front right tire ablaze.

The UK is winding down it's second round with impressive results. They scored lower than the Italian team in burning cars, but made up for it in broken glass. The eye-for-an-eye score is still being computed by game officials.

Greece is showing a very strong comeback after its less than stunning opening, with only minutes left in the round, waves of gas-bombs were deployed, with spectacular results. They clinched the judges approval with a last minute executive-thrashing. Word is still out weather it was actually a banker-thrashing.

Meanwhile the US continues to boycott the World-Wide-Riot Games, but QE 3.0 is being executed as I type. It seems sure the US team will come out with a strong performance. Expect day and nighttime riots, anything-that-burns burning, anything-not-nailed-down flying and a general "you just lost your banker-police-state privileges" attitude.

Let freedom ring, bitches, or else.

I give all of the credit to the Greek people.

They could have politely led the world on for a year or two that they were going to follow the path to austerity.

Instead, the moment it was announced, they took to the streets and began throwing firebombs at the police to assure the world there was no fucking way they were ever going to agree to a single budget cut.

Greece will default. The revolution is being televised.

Haha! Use the legislative process my ass! A revolution is the only thing that will stop the Bankster Wall Street IMF Terrorist Cabal. That includes Homeland Security and the US gov't  - Terrorists de-facto in the United Schmucks of AmeriKKa. Abolish the gov't and start over!

This can be accomplished peacefully if everyone would stay home(not go to the slave cubicle), not pay any usury, not pay any utility bills, default on your mortgage, and most importantly - help your neighbor if he/she is willing to do the same. If we do this en-masse, the entire system will crumble.

If not willing to, look forward to FEMA Camps and the rest of their Solution. 2012 is only a cover for these sick lizard terrorists.

There is no such thing as a DemoKrat or a ReThuglican. It is all show for the couch potatoes and arm-chair tea baggger pundits.

We can affect change peacefully or violently. Peaceful must happen soon to prevent the violence. I'm not saying our so-called government won't perpetrate violence on the citizens, but the peaceful solution will spare many.

Agencies Seek Comment on Market Risk and Basel II Advanced Approaches

Three federal bank regulatory agencies today announced they are seeking comment on a notice of proposed rulemaking that would revise the market risk capital rules for banking organizations with significant trading activity.

The proposed rule would implement changes approved by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision to its market risk framework. The Federal Reserve, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) believe the proposed revisions would better capture positions for which the market risk capital rules are appropriate, reduce procyclicality in market risk capital requirements, enhance the rules' sensitivity to risks that are not adequately captured by the current regulatory measurement methodologies, and increase market discipline through enhanced disclosures.

The Federal Reserve, OCC, and FDIC request comments on the notice within 90 days of its publication in the Federal Register, which is expected soon.

Separately, the Federal Reserve, the OCC, and the FDIC are seeking comment on a notice of proposed rulemaking that would amend the advanced approaches capital adequacy framework known as Basel II to be consistent with certain provisions of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. More specifically, a banking organization operating under the advanced approaches standards would be required to meet, on an on-going basis, the higher of the generally applicable and the advanced approaches minimum risk-based capital standards.

The Federal Reserve, OCC, and FDIC request comments on this notice within 60 days of its publication in the Federal Register, which is expected soon.

In an election, sovereignty is passed back to the people, so there is nothing wrong with the people replacing the entire government. Without an election (or similar method of designating the return of sovereignty to the people), any action aimed at replacing the government is wrong."

know what you want, why, and how to get it - or, don't let the ends justify the means especially if we don't know our ends from our elbows - or, be careful what we ask for - or, we get what we deserve - or, (do you know where your ipad is?) - or, what are your state senator's phone #s?

take your pick, the simplerer the betterer usually

Surprised that the UK students havent taken a lesson from the Greeks and come up with that kind of flammable stuff.  That makes the UK riots seem civil.

Even if it won't easily burn the cops, fire still seems to have an effect.

House prices remain excessively high compared to wages; each student will be 24000 pounds poorer at the end of their education; and wages will continue to experience heavy downward pressure due to global competition.
The only solution is to stop trying to manipulate the markets and let prices move in their natural directions.  I believe that the short term pain will end this long term madness.  The only real losers would be the bankers and the politicians (i.e. those who make the rules, sadly).

Why don't the police equip themselves with molotov cocktails and respond in kind? It would be impossible to portray that scene as anything other than a fair fight. Bring on your best arms and turn the table. If they start shooting? Well...

2008 was our "event"... no riots.DO NOT DELETE MY ACCOUNT! I am DEAD SERIOUS!What will spark the riots in the US? The collapse already happned in 2008. TARP was passed and the banks didn't fail.

According to Hank Paulson we were about 24 hrs away from tanks rolling though the  national mall.

And you seem to think that a few trillion worth of fiat paper fixed the solvency crisis.

This thing needs steady trillions QE 12345! just to limp along on a monthly basis.

When the paper no longer works its magic D.C. will look like Athens.

What astounds me is that having just watched the main news of the evening on the BBC no mention of the riots at all. Searched the BBC website for "Greek Riots" and the link offered was from 3rd November.

What is preposterous is to believe that this is not deemed newsworthy by any editor. Fcking fools.

Edit: Found it on BBC now through Google News not on their own search engine though.

In Switzerland, bankers and their families received packages and letters about six months ago at their private domicile. When they opened them, it activated a miniature catapult who sent them sulfuric acid at the face.

The cases have been reported by the local press, but I don't know if Americans have heard of it.

Too bad you don't understand what happened in Athens yesterday.

The Greeks are furious with this vile Socialist and corrupt Gvnt.

A Gvnt that:

a) reduces the living standards and cuts 50% of salaries in every job the way Ceausescu once did.

b) bailouts banksters

c) Tries to cover up the Siemens Scandal and the corrupted politicians

d) encourages an increddible number of illegal Muslim immigrants to enter Greece in order to deteriorate the foundations of our nation.

You see on the videos some young guys with molotov bombs that clash with police forces.

These young guys are no workers. Their only job is to create havoc so that the workers must not demonstrate.

These young guys try to scare workers and all the Greeks so that the corrupted Gvnt will continue doing its job without citizens control.

Rocks? And Bottles and a few Gasoline Maltov's - C'Mon....

This almost seems like a planned sensationalized riot.

Look...If People were REALLY mad, really fed up, they would REALLY destroy things, and those 1 police for every 10 protestors would be run over...Im not saying these guys arent upset, but they arent ready to really fight for what they want yet, prolly cuz they still eating and sleeping indoors. Until that changes materially, riots will just be met with more regulations rules and govt control.
