For those who think the News Corp. fallout is anywhere near close to ending, we have one word: Nope. The chart below from BusinessWeek is the best visual representation of what started as a simple voicemail tapping scandal and is set to not only topple a media empire, but to revolutionize the tabloid industry (for once into something better we hope), in the process maybe even returning a few IQ points to the average "developed nation" citizen.

Shouldn't Slick Willie be on this chart?
He's well embedded in every other toxic spiderweb I can think of.
Slick Willie is only a tool. A worn out tool at that. His "better half" still has a bit of life left in the toxic spiderweb, though.
I have no love for Murdoch and his slime, but I agree with others who think this is unimportant.
Why the media frenzy? Simply because their competitor is vulnerable and they hope to take him down and steal his market share. That's all. Nothing complicated.
Any time the media starts a frenzy, it should be considered fake. Where's the outrage over millions swindled out of their homes by fraudulent foreclosures? Or the bankers who have destroyed the integrity of the financial markets. Fake wars. A prez who isn't even a US citizen. The US constitution lying in ruins, while the police spy on everyone and can break down doors at will. And the outrage is over this nonsense.
Throw in a few dead soldiers and a cute little girl and Pavlov's dogs all follow their conditioning. My what a brain washed society we are. I'm lol.

It just gets better every day. I want to see hard time for Rupy and the top police he bribed. Then I will calm down, right now I'm on the edge of my seat yelling "JAIL!"
re: Zero Govt/Bob Dab - when Rupert (or any extremely rich/powerful individual) has control of the govt, your children are being "felt up" by RUPERT not by "the govt". All the mechanisms and burocreacy is being controlled by rupert - there is no govt just an arm of NEWS corp. He just goes strait to the top and captures the entire system.
A real govt (as opposed to a tight elite group) represents the population at large and makes decisions based on the benefit of ALL in society - not just Ruperts interest (or dick cheneys etc).
At present the pop. has NO representation whatsoever. Pollys just deliver everything to their corporate masters for scraps at the table. the cheapasses dont even extract a substantial bribe.
So the very reason we have a total lack of good governance (real govt) is BECAUSE those in office are simply using executive power for an elite class of wealthy individuals.
How funny would it be if the US Dept of Justice prosecuted the Murdoch family under the RICO statutes and confiscated all of his properties in the U.S. as assets associated with the criminal enterprise? You could have the U.S. government owning Fox news and the WSJ. You can bet Fox reporters would be invited to every White House function if that happened!
