Visual Summary Of The World's High Net Worth Individuals

Tyler Durden's picture

With a record 44 million Americans collecting foodstamps, the topic of a systemic and systematic class divides (especially now that Mort Zuckerman picked up on some of the very troubling developments to Marxists everywhere, first caught by Zero Hedge) will only get increasingly pronounced, and of all troubling trends in global finance, is likely the one to be the catalyst (as it always has in world history) for less than peaceful class upheavals. We have written extensively on the topic in the past (here and here), although for those new to this theme, below is a chart from the Guardian which effectively summarizes the snapshot distribution of the world's wealthiest at the end of 2010. As the bottom chart shows, the aftereffects of the financial crisis may be here to stay for 99% of the population... but not for the world's wealthiest 1%.

Dude......the apprenticeship programs at the unions I am forced to use is garbage. And anyone can join the union (doesn't mean you'll get dispatched).  Keep drinking the kool-aid.

F***ing union labor.  Hired a carpenter guy to do some interior work. He kept reminding me how great he was but was messy while working.   Then he bitches cause he cannot get a union gig in NY. Then it is on to the Bush hating.  This is after he is begging me for working during Obama's depression.

Hired another one years ago same Democrat or die mentality.  He then bitches about not getting any work at the union hall because he cannot speak Spanish.  F****ng union Dem leftist Obama "labor."

Oh and some real pieces of s*it Obama voters/Dem Party activists a in the neighborhood have city/county jobs.  The house is okay but they have multiple Porsche Caymans (dumb fvxx cannot buy the proper 911) plus BMWs.  All on the taxpayer dime.   Scum.

this is one of those nice looking graph forms that helped sell all sorts of things this past decade. most of the time, just seeing a graph in this form makes me think it is bullshit.

and i'm pretty certain the whole premise of this graph, that it is possible to represent the worlds' 'wealthy' in one simple page, is false.

i call bullshit meaninglessness on this graph, intended to be misused by just about anyone wanting to say anything that is already obvious about the wealthier but drawing unsubstantiated conclusions about how many and where they are.

It can be demonstrated just as objectively with tax return data, but it's less visually appealing.

Would seeing it as a histo chart make the facts on the ground different?

GODDAMN IT!

I logged in just to check out Oprah. All I see is a Butterscotch generic Weeble. Jesus, at least color that for the Chocolate Momma.

Come on people not only is she a rich mover and shaker but managed to get OJ to confess.

How fucking cool is that?

Fuck man she hands on the end of Dave Chappelles career. Would Barry do that?

http://www.hongpong.com/archives/2005/12/19/dave_chappelle_conspiracy_th...

The next day a friend recounted a frantic phone call from Chappelle at 2pm. Dave described the following story of the previous night, which his friend assumed, at the time, to be a dream: (paraphrased)

I was in bed next to my wife when I got woken up by a heavy pressure on my chest.

I opened my eyes to find one of the three men — that appeared in my bathroom days before — perched on top of my stomach, wielding a Colt 45 handgun with an enormous silencer. The other two men were holding me down. It seemed like my wife had been drugged, as she laid motionless but breathing next to me.

Oprah Winfrey leaned forward and whispered in my ear "you better watch your step — we're representing interests more powerful than you can imagine. You do remember that Farrakhan killed Malcom, and that Cosby, Johnson and I have more money than God — we can keep this harassment up forever. Is this what you want your life to be like Dave?"

The last thing I remember, someone knocked me out.

I woke up with my wife the next morning and I thought it might have been a dream, but I still have a bruise on my head and I really think this all happened, despite the fact that my wife shows no signs of anything having ever happened.

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/111991/was_dave_chappelle_almos...

Was Dave Chappelle Almost Whacked by Oprah?

Then, if there was still a shred of  belief left, kiss it goodbye when the story describes Chappelle watching Oprah at his home and witnessing her turning toward the camera in the middle of interviewing Tom Cruise and saying, "Dave Chappelle, you should be ashamed of yourself for airing that Niggers sketch on your show this week, I'm going to make sure you never work in Hollywood again." How did Oprah send her message to Chappelle's TV and his TV only you ask? Well, BET founder and fellow Dark Crusader Robert L. Johnson used his connections to ensure Oprah's message would be funneled only to Chappelle's TV of course -- apparently Oprah's studio audience was in on the conspiracy as well.

Timelines are ALWAYS to be considered. 5,10,30 sec. 1,5,10,30 min. 1,3,4,8....

And like the man say's "on a long enough timeline". Well the timeline is subjective. One thing for me, another for you. That is of course until the timeline no longer is material due to it having collapsed to a single point. You don't chart true chaos.

Seems to me though that distance becomes important. The further from the center, most violent fury of chaos you can get, the better your chances of surviving it's productivity.

"producing" is not going to be the next paradigm. Not in the silly and unsustainable way that it has been promoted in the past. The Indian culture may very well prove to be most dominate in the coming times. Collectively they hold more wisdom than those who they compete with. Intellectual wars will become paramount once the elitist have been defeated.

All 500 million of us will reject excessive power accumulation by treaty and essentially return to the beginning.

Again.

And after that, we will do it again.

In spring 2002, when war hawks in the Bush administration were pushing for a summer invasion of Iraq, Bilderbergers expressed their desire for a delay and the attack was not launched until March the following year.

In 2006, Estulin predicted that the U.S. housing market would be allowed to soar before the bubble was cruelly popped, which is exactly what transpired.

In 2008, Estulin predicted that Bilderberg were creating the conditions for a financial calamity, which is exactly what began a few months later with the collapse of Lehman Brothers.

Bilderberg has routinely flexed its muscles in establishing its role as kingmaker. The organization routinely selects presidential candidates as well as running mates and prime ministers.

Bill Clinton and Tony Blair were both groomed by the secretive organization in the early 1990′s before rising to prominence.

Barack Obama’s running mate Joe Biden was selected by Bilderberg luminary James A. Johnson, and John Kerry’s 2004 running mate John Edwards was also anointed by the group after he gave a glowing speech at the conference in 2004. Bilderberg attendees even broke house rules to applaud Edwards at the end of a speech he gave to the elitists about American politics. The choice of Edwards was shocking to media pundits who had fully expected Dick Gephardt to secure the position. The New York Post even reported that Gephardt had been chosen and “Kerry-Gephardt” stickers were being placed on campaign vehicles before being removed when Edwards was announced as Kerry’s number two.

A 2008 Portuguese newspaper report highlighted the fact that Pedro Santana Lopes and Jose Socrates attended the 2004 meeting in Stresa, Italy before both going on to become Prime Minster of Portugal.

HNWI = someone with 1m USD excluding the value of their main home?

Please.

We need to set the bar higher than that ,especially with inflation of the last 20 years.

Someone with a buck in the bank and a house free and clear is no HNWI. Not by todays standards.

The Guardian is just another socialist rag - they think a job paying 100k a year gross makes you rich and deserving of paying over half of it to the govn.

True.

And whilst the Guardian has some interesting pieces its a socialist rag masquerading as a broadsheet all the same.   Set the right precedent.  The Worlds top 1% is very different from the Worlds top 0.1%. You know that.  Dont hit the hard working upper middle class who have created jobs and wealth for their respective communities with the HNWI tag when they are anything but.  Unless you are now condoning total redistribution of wealth globally.

where does socialism begin? Is it where social darwinism ends?

Lets see : A quote...

"My father was a mulatto, my grandfather a negro, my great grandfather a monkey. So my lineage begins, good sir, there where yours ends..."

That's a good jibe by a great novelist when slurred about his ethnic origins.

If you transposed that into the political spectrum you could get :

My value system is social liberal, my father's was liberal and my grandfather's was socialist. So my value systems begin there where you oligarchical/feudal ones end.

Now I may be mixing my metaphors and analogies...

Marking cards? Weren’t you supposed to be correct about all of your above guesswork before you had the right to tell me to fuck off? It makes you look a bit stupid to say the least, but i must say it's an interesting insight into where you are actually comming from, it seems to me you have been done up like a kipper. Maybe im just confused about the context. ok i get it, you are not a HNWI, you are just a wannabe. ummm me too, i would love loads of cash in the bank, happy days, but when i get there, i wont be yapping about a tax take, mainly because i have survived and flourished up until now on under £15k a year - i can eat healthily(or unhealthily) when ever i want, i have a roof over my head, can afford petrol and most treats when ever i want etc(no, im not employed by the government)...how can i justify that i should be worth more in light of what’s happening today? How can i have an honest look at humanity and convince myself that i deserve more money?

Its the growing sense of entitlement in individuals that concerns me, it bothers me that most dont understand the true source of they're grasping motivations, everyone wants to be a fucking rich git these days, but why? Surely if they answered that truthfully within a broader context, the allure would lose some of its charm, no? - they moan and rant about their unique hard work, superior vision, special talents bla bla, (when its only by the grace of god that they weren’t born in Chad or Somalia etc) they seem to forget that what it boils down to is that they just got a break in life; right place, right time.

It’s not enough though is it?…greed to me is like a random number generator, you feed it a number, it will give you a bigger one. Tax the people on the move, why not, they are out for what they can get, aren’t they out to prove some bullshit point anyway? So off you go, run quick and make your hordes of cash for all your noble reasons, but lets face it, if you had any real talent you would have already made it by now. Its a sick world we live in, dont be a cheerleading slut for it.

Nice point and I have long 'felt' that the useful idiots of both sides (left hand/right hand, really simple and clever) can be united on some common ground. Call me naive, but I suspect that Liberty could be the fulcrum?

It daily becomes more transparent that our 'reality' is nothing more than a T.V. show, produced for the purpose of distracting us while the criminal elite go about their business 'herding the sheep'.

As a reformed and former Republican (Thanks Marla! It hurt but I'm glad you did it), I can't help but hope for Leftist troops to stand down under the powerful cognitive dissonance being slammed through their heads by the obvious tool obama.

For me at least, the curtains are open. These monsters don't even try to hide anymore. They feel emboldened and have seemingly relished the opportunity to exhibit themselves flagrantly mocking those of us who they surely understand can see them as they commit their despicable acts against natural law.

So yes, everybody has an axe to grind.

What else would one expect in such a dysfunctional environment? Is it not proof enough that this manipulation is a failure that 'everyone' has an axe to grind?

The can has hit the wall.

Unfortunately liberty cannot unite us because the left's definition of social justice requires the loss of individual liberty and a big givernment to enforce distribution of the freebies.

Alex Andreou: Democracy vs Mythology – The Battle in Syntagma Square

By Alex Andreou, a successful lawyer turned actor living in London. Cross posted from SturdyBlog

I have never been more desperate to explain and more hopeful for your understanding of any single fact than this: The protests in Greece concern all of you directly.

What is going on in Athens at the moment is resistance against an invasion; an invasion as brutal as that against Poland in 1939. The invading army wears suits instead of uniforms and holds laptops instead of guns, but make no mistake – the attack on our sovereignty is as violent and thorough. Private wealth interests are dictating policy to a sovereign nation, which is expressly and directly against its national interest. Ignore it at your peril. Say to yourselves, if you wish, that perhaps it will stop there. That perhaps the bailiffs will not go after the Portugal and Ireland next. And then Spain and the UK. But it is already beginning to happen. This is why you cannot afford to ignore these events.

The powers that be have suggested that there is plenty to sell. Josef Schlarmann, a senior member of Angela Merkel’s party, recently made the helpful suggestionthat we should sell some of our islands to private buyers in order to pay the interest on these loans, which have been forced on us to stabilise financial institutions and a failed currency experiment. (Of course, it is not a coincidence that recent studies have shown immense reserves of natural gas under the Aegean sea).

no. one cannot sell an-others sovereignty. this
lesson "we" do not learn but will learn it very soon.
sovereignty cannot be bought or sold, only temporarily
suppressed. who can breed a generation into debt

stand, as much as some bond holders may wish it would.

The Marxist view is that private property is bad. Even the concept of net worth to them is deplorable because they don't concepts of things like value or currency. God forbid that someone have more of anything than anyone else. In fact, god forbid anyone be able to have anything that's exclusive only to them. As for the food stamps, it doesn't surprise me that when you subsidize unemployment and high fructose corn syrup farm stuffs on the food stamp list, you get more lazy and fat people. Maybe if they subsidize unproductive people even more, they'll end up a different result. Probably not, but they'll continue on with the dialectic anyway.

By using the term "loaded," you are making the problem sound worse than it is.

Any government bureaucracy is going to have some cheaters.  However, I'd be willing to bet that the ratio of cheaters to valid participants in the food stamp program is relatively low.

Much lower than, say, TARP.

...the death of this global plan will be sudden and quick, it will not go away as slowly as it came. Have no doubt, death is on our horizon. This generation will not prevent Israel and it's enemies from clashing and leading to the sudden destruction to come. The Antichrist(s), be they jew muslim etc..., define this whole effort to establish the global security system, which lacks mercy for anyone. The corruption, that has lead to this point in time, reflects the rule of contempt and this lack of mercy. We are not going to avoid correction or conflict. This time is like no other in all of history. The scales mark 6.66 billion people for one and we are larger and as inverted as Babylon ever was. WMD's, technical ability to capture things like ''Dark Matter'', communication and computing power on a Petaflop scale, all this defines and declares we are the most unique generation that has ever lived. The compromises made to reach this point in history represent the slaughter and the sacrifice of independence liberty freedom and justice for all. We must pay the price for this, and we will, as in the Day's of Noah, so is it now upon this generation, we will bring the destruction because we cannot escape our own stupidity. If we could escape our own stupidity and corruption, by overcoming the evil bastards in high office etc... and the bankers etc..., the PIIGS etc... would not be squealing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJSAS2IHz6Y&feature=channel_video_title

"The last time the wealth was distributed as it is today was in the late 1920s

 just before the great depression."

I accept the above as fact--it has been commented on here and the MSM extensively.

What I would find very interesting is to see the anatomy of the change that followed during the Depression and beyond:

how did the shift back to more healthy balance between the haves and the have-nots occur?  Was it gradual/rapid?  To what extent was it the result of the haves losing and the have-nots gaining, absolutely and relatively speaking?  Was it more in some sectors of ownership than others?

I wonder if there is any data on this.  Seems like it might be a very interesting subject to explore, but I would have no idea how to go about doing it.

Totally disagree w/assessment of WHAT these folks spend their INVESTMENTS OF PASSIONS  dollars on.

Up until 2008, (maybe same now), most Americans w/net worth of 1million+, included their homes.

Now, the average American has a total net worth, (cash value) of $50k or less.

Read an article 2 weeks ago?, A survey was given and one question was asked.

How many could come up with $2k in cash, instantly, and then one week, one month, or not at all.

It was sickening, it was almost 25%+/-, across all four time frames.

But, but, but... this is America! The streets are paved with gold! Work hard and you can be a HNWI!

Lefty rag, The Guardian: "Eat the rich... after you make them paint your house."

So, the million dollar net worth is still the standard for rich?  So says....  The Guardian?  How 1960's of them! $1 million today is only $125,000 in 1965 notional dollars --- and all those wealthy "jerks" making $250,000/yr are really only making $34,750/yr in 1965 dollars.  A 2011 person today would have to have a net worth  of $7,173,460 and an annual income of $1,793,365/yr to have the 1965 equivalents of $1 M net worth and a 250k/yr income.

The USD was devalued another 10% in the last year through the miracle of deficit spending and money printing. I reckon that will elevate another 10% into the millionaire class to be demonized by those with small penises and tie-dyed T-shirts that are unable to compensate. That is surely more convenient than to admit they are the ones creating the "Gap" by using such class envy hysteria to justify more deficit spending and debasement of currency.  At this rate, house painters will soon be the new millionaire class to be demonized.

On the other hand, a very good start:  It would only take 30 Warren Buffets giving up their net worth of $50 billion to pay for a single year of an Obama annual Federal Deficit of $1.5 Trillion. And, it would take just 100 Warren Buffets to erase all 3 of the Obama deficits since he became became president. That's only one thousand Oprahs!

Put another way --- there are fewer millionaires now than in 1965 in constant US dollars.

summill.pdf (application/pdf Object)

But on the bright side of things, using the flip side of the same leftist logic..... we might look forward to the forthcoming headlines from the bitter clingers:

--- "Marx proud: Even the bottom 10% of the poor can afford cars that cost 600% more than the average car 50 years ago!!"

---"The average person of modest means can now afford to a home that costs 700% more than their middle-class parents did in 1965!!"

--"Studies show the Middle-class can regularly buy a $9/lb steak for dinner --- once only the domain of the super rich!!"

---"Rejoice! Over 2.9 million middle-class Americans able to join the millionaire-club in the USA!! A 2000% jump from just 150K in 1965. Upward mobility is a proven fact!!"

....Ooops, they did do that last bit of insanity already, but with their own obligatory bitter twist on it.

If you want to be part of the "club" there is an easy way to eventually join,

Stop buying the latest shit techie device and throwing your perfectly good one out. Use your car for more than the term of the lease - own it till it dies.

Own as much of your consumables as possible. Decrease your expenditures to 50% of your revenue.

Take the extra revenue and invest in stocks, bonds, gold, silver and land.

As you stare into your beautigul precious JPHONE (or whatever useless device you carry), ask yourself one question - Why am I payign for an $80 dollar data plan when there are millions of WIFI's out there for free? I use a cell phone only for 23 bucks a month. Believe me when I say that me peers are geared up their asses in tech. They also pay for it. I take my savings from this and buy land. Any land.

My banker bitches that he can't email me because I am not connected. I simply say to him that I won't respond anyway. Either phone me or don't bother me with email. Most importantly let your peers blow their cash. You keep yours

My family and I are very wealthy becuase we live within our means and NEVER blow money. We have more fun saving than spending. In fact we are taught at a young age to manage and respect money so we are not afraid of it. Yes many of you are afraid of wealth.

It is a means to an end - not an end.

Your true wealth comes from your happiness and your health because without those you never get and keep money.

I'll never forget what one very wealthy man told me once.

He said...

In the 1950's when I had my businesses, I had the oldest truck in my community. My neighbours who worked for me owned brand new ones on credit. I owned mine clear title for 20 years. I bought land with every spare nickel I had. They bought new trucks, TV's,   etc. They used to make fun of me for being "so cheap".

After 30 years I owned my entire community - they owned nothing and rented from me. Then their kids rented from me, and their grand kids and so on.

It isn't a mystery people. The money is there on the ground and in your pocket. You have to have the wherewithall to pick it up and keep it in your pocket without spending it.

This is what undisciplined losers who live for the moment fail to understand.

Those who dont understand compound interest usually pay it. Those who do understand compound interest usually receive it it.

My primary vehicle is 11 years old.
One of my credit cards used to be routinely denied when i used it at wal mart and i would have to call in and verify my identity. Finally someone admitted that at my "level" their "select" credit cards would trigger a fraud alert if used in a downscale store!

Live beneath your means, bitchez, and in a few generations your family line will catch up, too.

Hehe.

My junkers live for the moment and want to be at the top immediately, or tear everyone else down to their level

I dont even qualify as a HNWI, a top one percenter, but it took two generations to get where I am. By the end of my lifespan I may make it. Certainly if I can instill the values of delayed gratification and self discipline my children will make it.

You beef is with the o.o1 percent who run the world and fucked us all over not with me.

The end result of Austrian crap is just what we have now.  How Austrians can bitch and moan when they support such crap is psychologically weird.  The tooth fairy part of Asstrian is just the sales job to fleece. CNBC says the poor caused the housing debacle.

People don't like HFT, market manipulation, but are against regulation as good idiot Austrians.

You need very little regulation and structure to have a fair economy for the vast majority of people, provided the regulations are to prevent moral hazard and make markets as pareto efficient as possible.

Austrians would have no objection to equal opportunity, as educating people to their highest level of productive capacity and income potential improves productivity and growth.

Austrians are very much against enforcing equal outcomes however.

It might help if you actually read Hayek before stating an uninformed opinion

This graphic is somewhat misleading.
Since they measure HNWI in USD, other countries in this graphic, especially Japan and Switzerland is pretty much deemed to have more HNWI.
