The so-called Elites are beginning to tumble.

Cognitive Dissonance's picture

I suspect this is simply a rotation. Hulk Hogan is about to be dethroned by Rowdy Roddy Piper.

Stay tuned for further developments.

Man, that's some old-school wrestling...

Cognitive Dissonance's picture

Yes....but certainly contemporary to that old fart Murdoch, who was probably 55ish when Hulk was at his peak.

DaveyJones's picture

I think he was a fart at every age

Cognitive Dissonance's picture

I stand corrected.

As a newly certified old fart I see nothing but old farts everywhere. So I might be a bit biased here in assuming he became an old fart relatively recently. :)

jeff montanye's picture

hey you think that's old, how about the von brauner brothers, haystacks calhoun and eddie graham?  and don't forget the great malenko.

Flying Fred Curry, Leapin' Larry Shane, the Kangaroo Brothers, The Sheik, Bobo Brazil . . .

Did anybody catch what just happend? I heard some commotion but I turned to the screen to slow to see what happened.

Cognitive Dissonance's picture

Rowdy Roddy Piper just had a temper tantrum. He's like that.

Correction. She's like that.

T. Herman Zweibel and Rupert are contemporaries.

WakeyWakey's picture

Just think, all these scrotum faced old farts like Murdoch, Kissinger and Thatcher will all be dead within the next 10 years :)

There is one person the elites have yet to master...the Grim Reaper.

I'm long scathes

Yes, and now all those Communication companies will be put under guard of the government...

He who controls these channels, controls the world.

And now they want to check every media company in the world for these kind of phone tappings which are a excuse to put a government guy in every media company "to check up on them".

BYE BYE "FREE" MEDIA!

Rupert Murdock, James Murdoch & News Corporation

-vs-

Julian Assange

-vs-

Bradley Manning

All are treated very (un)equally in our (non)system of justice and (dis)law.

*The Murdochs and many of their top execs would be at CIA black site 'detainment facilities' right now if not for the fact that they own so many legislators™.

Okay, obviously hacking into somebody's calls is illegal everywhere. That being said, why is it such a big deal that they were hacking into the voicemails of dead people? It seems a little much to bring down a media conglomerate. I don't like any of Murdoch's garbage television but nobody I talk to seems to have any idea of why this has gotten so big...

BeerWhisperer's picture

Really? It's tough for you to understand why it's a big deal? Do you really think that it was simply hacking into one phone? I think the point is that if it was going on with seemingly meaningless situations, you bet your sweet buttocks it was going on at all levels.

Robot Traders Mom's picture

You don't think google, facebook, etc don't collect your information without your permission?

I'm not trying to play the devil's advocate. I hate Rupert Murdoch and all that he stands for. All I'm saying is that he runs the largest media empire in the world and I am at a loss for words as to how hacking into a dead person's phone can bring that empire down. Its not like Jayson Blair's plagarism brought down the NY Times and Sulzberger...

Spastica Rex's picture

Agreed. There's something else going on here.

camoes's picture

He became vulnerable the moment he started hacking into "common" people's life and misery. One thing is to invade privacy of famous celebrities and politicians (which society expects to have their privacy invaded), another is to invade regular "innocent" people's intimacy. Once you cross that line, public opinion got inflamed.

Someone must have realized this and it was easy to lit the fire and bombs away.

cosmictrainwreck's picture

Haven't seen ya in a while, Mom... how's the boy? PS the "big deal" is all the bribes & shit. You heard head of Scot Yard resigned, right? Not to mention the sleaze reaches all the way almost to the royals.... (just shy of)

Robot Traders Mom's picture

Hi Cosmic. My son is getting held back this year. Again.

He is full of more fail than Dick Fuld showing up at a secret meeting at the US Treasury.

Big companies may not get trampled by elephants but they might be eaten by ants. If enough people walk away from buying its products it will go under. News of the World had the largest Sunday publication in the UK - two weeks ago. And now it's gone. Yes, OK, it may only represent 1% of Murdoch's empire but it's a chink in the armour (I'm English, hence the spelling).

Robot Traders Mom's picture

Good Analogy David.

James Murdoch just said they were hacking into 9/11 victims voicemails to look further into allegations (cover-up). Paraphrased.

Interesting coming from them.

WakeyWakey's picture

At the time they hacked into Milly Dowlers phone nobody was aware she had been murdered. She was still officially missing and when the News Of The World found the voicemail was full they deleted messages so more could be left. This gave the parents false hope that their daughter was still alive.

Even though the murder was in 2002 the killer was only prosecuted last month and the Dowler family were in the news over their treatment in court. The scumbag lawyers defending the killer tried to paint them as bad parents and her father was a perv for having a porn stash. They had the public sympathy at this point and had the police on their side looking to bring about change to stop defence lawyers discrediting victims and their families as a weak defence.

So the Dowler family had public sympathy on their side and then the news broke about their daughters phone being hacked.

Then the next day it was 7/7 victims

Then the next day it was families of dead soldiers serving in Afghanistan.

Its snowballing and it isn't showing signs of stopping.

Dr. Engali's picture

He stepped on the government's toes. They have exclusive rights to hack into private property.

Sarcasm off

DaveyJones's picture

Yes I think it's rule #4 that gives them exlusive power

Zero Govt's picture

Yes the British Govt has exclusive (monopoly) rights to wire tap and also dictate every market under their thumb ....what with the Labour Govt and Tory/Lib-Dem Parties all successively blocking and stone walling Murdochs BSkyB takeover

Gee it's almost like all 3 parties have the same policies, like a 1 Party State (monopoly). And if you'd care to look at the policies of all 3 Parties at the last election they all looked so similar as to not make a jot of difference what colour rosette Party you voted for

The 1 Party (with 3 coloured rosettes) totalitarian State of Britain ...let's not get in the BBC's way of control of the media too, wouldn't want independents like Murdoch discolouring the sea of socialist red media propaganda

George Orwell you wasted your time and your wise words, the nation is sleep walking into the Totalitarian State and has learnt a big fuking zero from the purging of all independent voices as Hitler, Stalin and Mao practised.. welcome to 1984 in 2011 (and most ZH readers are joining the stirred-up zombie crowds)

CalDre's picture

"independents like Murdoch".   Hahahaha, the globalist, war-mongering, imperialist, corporatist, fascist, Zionist (but I keep repeating myself) Murdoch is independent.

Hahaha, good one!  Reminds me of the Norwegians granting the big B.O. the Nobel Peace Prize.

<sigh>

I love red hair.

It's the same as espionage. Tapping the prime minister in England is a death sentence as England is at war with the Taliban and because they where looking for info about the war and personal information.

FIRE SQUAD!

"....why hacking people's phones may not have been the best idea ever. "

Because they are a private company.  The government doesn't like competition.
