Watch Paul Ryan Unveil His Draconian Budget Proposal Live

Tyler Durden's picture

Time for some more theater: at 10:30 am Eastern Paul Ryan will reveal his budget proposal which sees the US government cutting $650 billion each year over the next 10 years. This simply means that even more stimulus will reside with the Fed, and with monetary policy, which also means that not only is QE3 guaranteed, but so is QE33. Watch Ryan live at the below C-Span link.

And here are two summary compare and contrasts of the proposed budget and that of the president.

Who's going to authorize a debt ceiling above 100% of the GDP? Who?

A Republican-led Congress? Hmmm... Do this, and say goodbye to any 2012 pretension...

I'm amazed at the bile on this thread towards Paul Ryan.  He's been nothing but straightforward on budgetary matters.  This is the FY 2012 budget.  It's a start.  Probably the best he could deliver with Obama and Reid opposing him.

Obama, according to the CBO, proposed spending $9.5 trillion in debt over the next decade, which is certain default and economic destruction.  And you have a problem with Ryan?  Go eff yourself.

you're living in a fantasy and just got hooked..  they can agree to all sorts of illusions and put it in place and whenever they want inflation/spending to continue the next crisis will happen..  look at all the frigging shit hitting the fan right now ~ are you going to get America to ignore the world like Ron Paul wants??  THAT is the only way back and it is a road no one will be able to travel

"And you have a problem with Ryan?  Go eff yourself."

Get a grip!!

This budget is another example of a flawed approach (trickle down economics doesn't work), the bottom line is not only are you going to have to cut benefits, you are going to have to raise taxes AND more importantly close the tax loopholes for corporations like GE, (close the gap between statutory and real corporate tax rate, the small business are currently getting screwed as they pay the full rate).  These actions will result in significant political unrest, from all quarters.

Not one political figure has openly discussed the resulting political unrest and/or addressed these issues, including Ryan.

You cut benefits "cold turkey" and it will result in REAL human suffering, before you do that you had better have a plan in place for how the American Society is going to have adapt to address the lack of safety nets before you implement it!  And if your going to raise corporate income taxes you need to make sure you don't kill the corporations and potential job growth in the process!

These types of rational discussions on a national level by our government leaders are not going to happen... "the well is thoroughly poisoned".  And comments and attitudes like yours contribute to that poisoning!

Get a grip, yourself.  It's clear that you haven't even read the plan with your hyperbolic statements.  Go here:

The cold, hard fact is that we have a president who has proposed default.  Ryan has proposed a step towards solvency with the FY 2012 budget.  If you and the rest of the MSM/Democrats are going to criticize him, then it is your obligation to propose another path towards solvency.  Propose a VAT, means-testing SS, something that agrees with your policy preferences, to get us to solvency.

Otherwise, you can STFU and let the adults take over.

Well said.  Ryan (Mr. Bailout, as his votes make clear) is utterly insincere when he talks about cutting taxes, and parrots that nonsense about how US corps have it so badly because of the "one of the highest tax rates in the world." That's the same nonsense we heard (and received thereafter) in 2000.  Taxes need to be raised, and loopholes closed.  Hitting the old and the poor, without recognizing that the military spending needs to be reined in far more substantially, and that spending non-budgeted billions in wars needs to be ended, shows Ryan is just another puppet for TPTB.

One solution that is never discussed is to sell some of the vast government land holdings, and to sell mineral exploration leases in some of the areas that are now off limits.

Dude, who's going to buy it? China. They're are the ones with the money. Heck, they're already doing it all over the world. Why not here.

Like selling/leasing land to foreigners is going to solve our problems.

No way. Private bankers would love to buy out this country's real assets from money that they created out of thin air( fractional banking).

prolly too little too late IMO.

why is it that nothing ever gets done when the situation can be fixed? everything is put off until the crisis arrives and then, and only then, solutions are proposed.

I keep going back to RP vids from back in 2006/7 and shake my head, the warnings were there, the problem was there in plain sight, but nothing was done.

the fed will probably deem that the govt. is TBTF next

Paul Ryan is a fascist, bankster whore.

Glass-Steagall, and sane cuts...like wars, defense spending, etc

No need for cuts to needed services, and of course no need to pay off fraudulent debt.

Don't you just love the way Paul Ryan, the american's american, 'true patriot TM', uses complete sophistry to make his point which he is completely wrong about? Amazing.  His reasoning on the points are bullshit, and his reasoning on obama's bullshit, is itself bullshit.  I feel sorry for whoever gave this guy a hs diploma, because he shouldn't have one. He clearly does not possess reading comprehension skills, nor is he capable of expressing a valid viewpoint, nor does he show even a basic understanding of American history.  This guy is a fucking retard.  Oblivious to the fact he is part of the problem, and not part of the patriotic solution.  Houston we've got a major problem.

I dont think any budget matters much at this point. So handing out unlimited CCs to everyone would be a great way to crash and burn.

These prosparity cards would be activated on July 4, shop till you drop, one day only, everything must go special.

If anyone wanted to even think about a budget, security would be the thing to cut. Security and safety laws will have to go if they harm taxable revenues. Fines and fees are fine raise them all you want x1000 just dont harm taxable sales.

Security must be front and center in any cut and everything gets a 90% cut across the board, and all banks and insurance must be  nationalized. If it makes big money its profits and admin goes to deficit reduction. Thats to even start to think about balance or budget.

I still like my one day only unlimited Cedit Card special sale, Supernova. Buy buy buy.

I just want my money back, thats all. Pay me what I put in. No interest no lending fees.  Just pay me back the principle, and you won't see me again.  Pack it in a Metal case that is sealed and inspected by the Mint, that I can remove from the country and I will be out of this God forsaken bank-owned war-mongering oligarchy.  Here are the keys to my underwater house -- the furniture and cars are paid for.  The Lexus needs a rear drivers side shock tower bushing.

Just give me the money back.

Simon Black where are you?

Just what we need, to put more and more trust in the Fed to save us.  I'm for sure moving to Canada by the end of this year, this is getting to be too much.
