Watch Sanders/Vitter Live In Advance Of The Sanders/Vitter Amendment Votes At 11:30 AM Eastern

Tyler Durden's picture

Bernie Sanders is talking right now on C-Span 2, where Vitter will discuss his amendment as well. Both of these are critical to exposing the covert activities of the Fed. If the Sanders bill passes as is, it will disclose prior information. If the Vitter amendment also passes, then the original form of S.604 will likely be implemented. Furthermore, Sanders just announced that according to his revised amendment the GAO is required to investigate conflicts of interest when banks were being bailed out.

Watch the debate live here.

I have to say Judd Gregg is probably more pro-bankster politician in congress than anyone.  I am willing to bet he is quitting congress to work at goldman sachs he defends consistently, all the while calling anyone who seriously questions the Fed/Wall Street just "populists."

Perhaps Mr. Gregg should use the term "populists" very judiciously.

While many politicians are attempting to used the term these days as a negative connotation (as has worked in the past), Mr. Gregg is coming off looking more like an elitist with a narrow constituency to protect.  While we all know that Mr. Gregg is going to greener (Goldman) pastures... this is probably NOT a good way to make a speech and stay re-elected.

Just so you guys/gals running in November are aware...

Dodd's laughing is irritating.

Laughing because of the potential for a win-win situation.  Showed Sander's has no balls to put anything legitimate in front of a voting crowd.  Other winning potential is because he knows the odds are in his favor for the Banksters to come out en masse to vote the Vitter amendment down.

Here is how the game is played. A Senator gets credit for being in favor of a bill that he knows will not pass. He can go home and say, "I supported it." He never has to vote against it. I suspect Shelby is playing this game as a majority of his constituents in Alabama probably favor an audit of the fed.

The other members know this and so they don't try to persuade him otherwise. It is all a circus played out for our benefit. It makes things appear one way when they are really another thing altogether.

Forgive my cynicism.

Don't appologise when you are right. We need to be more determined or nothing will be done.

My question is this: What can the 0.5 - 1% of people (us here and others that understand this) who are not part of the system can do? This is my calculation; 80% don't understand what's reallu going on, about 15% are making money on this rally without asking why, the rest 4% are involved in keeping up the system as is to serve them, the remaining 1% has knowledge, ideas etc specifically on the financial system corruption etc. It falls on this 1% to do what needs to be done, to raise awaraness and inform the rest, while really hard on this society of american idol addicteese.

"Some people think the Federal Reserve Banks are the United States government's institutions. They are not government institutions. They are private credit monopolies which prey upon the people of the United States for the benefit of themselves and their foreign swindlers.

"We have, in this country, one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever known. I refer to the Federal Reserve Board. This evil institution has impoverished the people of the United States and has practically bankrupted our government. It has done this through the corrupt practices of the moneyed vultures who control it."

Sure the Fed will release the names of all the institutions that received money. It will have 5000 names and include every major institution. Then what? Nothing has changed. So where is Obama coming out to support truth over corruption? I am so dissapointed in him, he is a lame duck President already because has no guts to fight or has (or always was, one of them). At the most important time, when the right thing matters....he has gone missing, gone coward. But I suspect it wont matter who is in power, they are all owned in some way. Agreed.

But the vote (again) will determine the updated composition of the Banksters Party (B).

I'm sure Dylan Ratigan will have something to say about the Vitter Amendment vote...

how many votes are needed for an amendment to pass? Is it simple majority?

Sounds like they are calling the roll in preparation for the vote.

I've never watched the Senate vote on something before, but it seems awfully inefficient.

Couldn't they do roll call using some electronic system that would literally take a few seconds?!

On the contrary, we want congress votes to be as slow as possible.  Why?  The less they do, the less damage is done.  I say we give them 9 months paid vacation a year.

Just to clarify : Sanders Amend. is an audit going back to 2008 to the present.  Vitters Amend. has no time limits; full audit. Roll call then the vote.

Vitters amendment fails.

CONgress thinks of themselves as "elected elite".  The unwashed masses who have not been annointed by hahvud are too dumb to understand an appreciate God's work by the Fed.

You can't handle the truth!

Extend and pretend is on!

My senator is such a collosal BHO pumper (Bennet-CO) there was no way he was voting "aye" on Vitter.

I sure hope he enjoyed his brief stay in the Senate.
