Watch Sanders/Vitter Live In Advance Of The Sanders/Vitter Amendment Votes At 11:30 AM Eastern
Bernie Sanders is talking right now on C-Span 2, where Vitter will discuss his amendment as well. Both of these are critical to exposing the covert activities of the Fed. If the Sanders bill passes as is, it will disclose prior information. If the Vitter amendment also passes, then the original form of S.604 will likely be implemented. Furthermore, Sanders just announced that according to his revised amendment the GAO is required to investigate conflicts of interest when banks were being bailed out.

He'll soon have a plane "accident" and the bill won't pass. Tragic...
this explains the martket action today. we had too big too fail so we had the drop. the boys need to scare the shit out of everyone if they vote to audit. watch the market reaction
The gave us a 1000 point dip to show they rule the kingdom, is the banks hubris so great as to murder to keep the secrets of the corruptions?
Nope, I doubt it, it would be their end as well.
Wow. Someone is in desperate need of some reality glasses.
Nahh they wont kill, just send the silver manipulators car around to try and run him down. Haven't heard about that guy they arrested as yet, no news?
Judd Gregg...what a cunt....
"Don't turn control of the currency over to elected officials...."
no, just "get out the way and let the genleman do his thang"
I have to say Judd Gregg is probably more pro-bankster politician in congress than anyone. I am willing to bet he is quitting congress to work at goldman sachs he defends consistently, all the while calling anyone who seriously questions the Fed/Wall Street just "populists."
Perhaps Mr. Gregg should use the term "populists" very judiciously.
While many politicians are attempting to used the term these days as a negative connotation (as has worked in the past), Mr. Gregg is coming off looking more like an elitist with a narrow constituency to protect. While we all know that Mr. Gregg is going to greener (Goldman) pastures... this is probably NOT a good way to make a speech and stay re-elected.
Just so you guys/gals running in November are aware...
now you understand why our fair leader wanted him as commerce sect'y.
Gregg is from NH. A small population elected him. No doubt he has been heavily "lobbied". With Dodd retiring he is a safe buy for the banksters.
Last week, we did falling C(D)ows. Oh, pray, tell what shall be the !reign o'er me!, this time?
Judd Gregg selling out the people now.
Shelby coming up.
Judd is either utterly and completely compromised, ....or dumb as a post.
Protect the value of the dollar,t hat's what he thinks the fed has been doing???????
If Vitter bill passes prepare for a massive bear raid as the Investment banks convulse like a petulant child.
On second thought, it is a given that the fix is in; there is no way Vitter amendment passes.
While I sadly agree with your 2nd stmt., there is a small bit in me that hopes your 1st comes to pass... despite the uphill corruption battle it faces.
But WHEN will the info go public? That is the question. Kinda like showing up for yo' free healthcare and the nurse says, "Sorry, but you're an adult. You have to wait until 2014, sucka!"
Dodd is calling Sanders sellout a "historic contribution".
Dodd trashing Vitter amendment (full audit).
devoid of political influences...jesus.
devoid of political influences...jesus.
does Dodd know that many of us can read and do some 'rithmatik, and that they should have closed down the internet and refused admission to any peasant wanting more schooling than high school to get away with this crap?
I really can't stand Dodd...If there was ever a person that I wouldn't mourn it would be him.
Dodd calls Vitters amendment (full audit) a "tragedy".
Dodd threatening market crash re: Vitter amendment (full audit).
GOOD! F-ing bring it! I'm so tired of tip-toeing around this. Go back to CT old man and stop trying to scare us.
Never go to coart against somebody who has a unlimited money supply.
Banks will win.
They can't, they shoudln't but they will.
Demint speaking in favor of Vitter amendment (full audit).
Dodd's laughing is irritating.
Laughing because of the potential for a win-win situation. Showed Sander's has no balls to put anything legitimate in front of a voting crowd. Other winning potential is because he knows the odds are in his favor for the Banksters to come out en masse to vote the Vitter amendment down.
SPY doesnt think this will pass. been gunned up the last 10 min
Demint calling for accountability at the Federal Reserve. Will support Sanders amendment.
It should be a 100% full complete audit Bill..With a very simple UP OR DOWN VOTE and move the hell on....If it passes, then audit the mf'ers..if it doesnt , then we dont and move on..And then we will have everyone on record with there vote and can have our voice heard at election time..
Demint talking about Vitter amendment (full audit), says we may not be smart enough to understand the Fed.
Then speak slowy, and phrase it in single syllables, if necessary-- and teach us.
What a maroon.
Perhaps we should be electing Senators that actually DO understand the Fed.
Demint wants both Sanders and Vitters amendment supported.
Shelby is talking now.
Shelby says Fed has not stayed within the limits established by Congress.
The Feds must have had some goods on ol' Bernie for him to cave in... J Edgar Hoover would be proud
Senators will always protect those that pay them the most.
What a circus. Does BB have pictures of these guys doing something naughty?
Greece is not the only place where Greek tragedies are played out. I wonder how history will record this time in our history ... say 100 years from now?
Dodd's career campaign contributions
http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/summary.php?cycle=Career&type=I&c...
what times the vote?
Shelby is saying Fed uses secrecy to bailout AIG and other firms. Not clear what amendment he supports.
Well if the banksters decide to crash the market in a tantrum maybe they should be careful. It may be expected and thus being watched more closely from the inside.
Calling roll...
I'm pretty sure that was the end of "debate".
If the Fed was clean, not corrupt then being audited should not be an issue.
The amount of effort put in to stopping this would indicate the Fed is entirely corrupt and has everything to hide.
Why are they playing the waltz when the senators are performing the lambada with the constitution?
Here is how the game is played. A Senator gets credit for being in favor of a bill that he knows will not pass. He can go home and say, "I supported it." He never has to vote against it. I suspect Shelby is playing this game as a majority of his constituents in Alabama probably favor an audit of the fed.
The other members know this and so they don't try to persuade him otherwise. It is all a circus played out for our benefit. It makes things appear one way when they are really another thing altogether.
Forgive my cynicism.
Don't appologise when you are right. We need to be more determined or nothing will be done.
My question is this: What can the 0.5 - 1% of people (us here and others that understand this) who are not part of the system can do? This is my calculation; 80% don't understand what's reallu going on, about 15% are making money on this rally without asking why, the rest 4% are involved in keeping up the system as is to serve them, the remaining 1% has knowledge, ideas etc specifically on the financial system corruption etc. It falls on this 1% to do what needs to be done, to raise awaraness and inform the rest, while really hard on this society of american idol addicteese.
No thx, I'll be watching a Tivo'ed episode of Kim Kardashian. At least there I know I'm watching rich trailer-trash lives, featuring lying, manipulating, self-centered assholes instead of lying, manipulating, self-centered narcissists pretending to do the work of the people.
Besides, the last time I saw Judd Greg and heard him pimping for his masters, I had to use my AAA card to get bailed out of jail for causing a pubic disturbance.
Judd Gregg, Chris Dodd = on the People's kneecap list. Or perhaps a blanket party. The People decide.
Dodd is looking out for America. If there was an Audit, Mushroom clouds would be over major cities and the economic recovery would be in the trash can!
Why do you people want a total collapsed econonmy?!?!
Secrets can be kept! JFK, Moonlanding, 911, CIA foreign affairs, Obama's birth certificate and other records.
Keep the FED Secret= Keep the people alive
(I am no troll. I am an American who wants to keep his family safe and send his children to college. NOT WAR!)
Geoffrey questioning Richard's bravery before being led to the hangman.
Prince Geoffrey: You fool. As if it matters how a man falls.
Prince Richard: When the fall is all that's left, it matters a great deal.
I personally would rather take my medicine now and possibly get better. Letting things fester won't change the inevitable.
If you care about what kind of country your children grow up in, you should be with us too. The middle class is dead...if not dying thanks to the efforts of these scum bags. That has massive repercussions to your family and the lives of your children and grandchildren.
unfortunately, your sentiments are probably similar to many Americans. that is the real tragedy. you let your fear dictate your decisions. i suppose you support the "Patriot" Act as well right?
the economy will not collapse as a result of the Fed audit. the economy will collapse as a result of misguided policy on all levels of government and Fed. don't be a fool. if you don't pay attention to it, it will not go away.
people like you make this corruption possible. stand up and be responsible.
So if a Predator drone fires a missle at your house, killing all your loved ones, and burns down the entire block, you would still keep your mouth shut?
Troll or not I'll take mass chaos and war over a Prison Planet, a la 1984.
Bottom line: you're a pussy.
And that's insulting to vaginas, but I couldn't think of a better word.
Bernie Sanders speaking..
Shame they don't make 'em like this anymore…even Ron Paul doesn't go this far...
"Some people think the Federal Reserve Banks are the United States government's institutions. They are not government institutions. They are private credit monopolies which prey upon the people of the United States for the benefit of themselves and their foreign swindlers.
"We have, in this country, one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever known. I refer to the Federal Reserve Board. This evil institution has impoverished the people of the United States and has practically bankrupted our government. It has done this through the corrupt practices of the moneyed vultures who control it."
Congressman Louis T. McFadden, 1932.
so how long does this debate go?
Bernie Sanders says the people are demanding transparency at the Fed.
Sanders says "the people are catching on"
Bernie Sanders congratulating others for supporting his amendment (sellout version of audit the Fed).
I still get the sense that Bernie did the "sellout" version to get the amendments to vote, hance the Vitter proposal at the last minute. This still needs to go to House reconciliation.
Sure the Fed will release the names of all the institutions that received money. It will have 5000 names and include every major institution. Then what? This is a similar strategy to the "risk disclosure" in a prospectus - there will be so many risks - the sky may fall, a meteor may strike etc - that one's eyes glaze over and the revolutionary fervor dissipates!
Vitters speaking, asking for support of both amendments (the sellout version and the full audit).
What are the differences?
Dodd pulling a manuver right now about remaining debate time.
Obama will veto any bill that passes. You can take that to the bank.
Thank God! At least we have a President that is looking out for the safety of all Americans!
you really need to rewatch the wizard of oz my friend
I like the subtle pun there, Psquared...
As for Obama, he will be held accountable for that in say... 2012. Indirectly so this November. I don't think it's likely to go that far, becuause there's simply no political will in the Senate.
Can anyone say "lame duck presidency"?
Vitters calls for support of the House version (full audit).
Are you saying that you think Bo will veto a fin. reform bill that he has been all over the tv fighting for?
sure will. he knows who his masters are. he will say that the bill doesnt go far enough or some shit and demand a rework and rewrite
We'll see, but if it includes the Vitter/Sanders amendment to audit the Fed I think he will.
BO has stated he will Veto the bill if it has S. 604 language. It's consistent with the guidance he's giving his Solicitor General concerning the FOIA request making it's way through the appellate courts.
Dodd calling for yays and nays on Sanders amendment..voting now..
Roll call?? Is this for Quorum purposes or is it a roll call vote. I thought he called for yeays and nayes??
Is it me, or is there no one there? Maybe out of camera view....
I refer to the Federal Reserve Board. This evil institution has impoverished the people of the United States and has practically bankrupted our government. It has done this through the corrupt practices of the moneyed vultures who control it.
Nothing has changed. So where is Obama coming out to support truth over corruption? I am so dissapointed in him, he is a lame duck President already because has no guts to fight or has (or always was, one of them). At the most important time, when the right thing matters....he has gone missing, gone coward. But I suspect it wont matter who is in power, they are all owned in some way. It will take a larger black swan to destroy that lot.
There is clearly no quorum in the chamber now - so they will file back in and vote not having heard the debate. That means their minds are made up.
Also, they are voting on the Sanders Amendment first. If it is the watered down version it may pass and the Vitters Amendment will be defeated. Thats my guess anyway.
Hmm... market up right now. The outcome has been predetermined.
at 11:30 there was a big fat volume push up on SPY to get through yesterdays close...no thats not related to the senate debat (sarc off)
Bingfuckingo
This is like watching watching those convenience store robbery tapes..but in real time
Haha!
Sanders amendment getting full support..
What is going on with the Vitter amendment?
That's up next..
Man, this is exciting!
Volcanoes, and oil spills, and auditing the Fed, OH MY!!!!!
The roll call hasn't had one nay... It's looking like it will pass. Even Dodd said Eye. Watch it:
http://www.c-span.org/Watch/C-SPAN2.aspx
Is this the actual vote on the bill? Seems odd not a single "nay"...
I see they are voting on the Sander's amendment...the Vitter amendment still to come I'm assuming.
If Dodd is voting for it then you know its in the interests of the bank, I would conclude that the Vitters Amendment won't pass, but the Sanders Amend. will.
This is the vote on the Sanders amendment. Not a single Nay yet.
wow ... maybe the politicians got sick of bankers making them look bad and not sharing the billions?
Rockerfeller... aye
Just to get this straight, this has already passed the other house?
So the Sanders version is watered down and Vitter Amendment had real teeth? No wonder they are voting on the Sanders version first. Audit the fed movement will be over - unless Obama vetoes.
Sanders amendment passed..all "ayes" (96-0) on Sanders watered down amendment...Apparently they think the peeps will be fooled.
Now would be a good time to gun the junkers..
The audit doesn't allow a look into Fed's monetary policy or its dealings with foreign central banks. Useless.
Voting now on the Vitter amendment. 96 nays?
66 nays.
Well i was close....
3760 is Vitters amendment for full audit.
Vitter Amendment will not pass.
Agreed.
But the vote (again) will determine the updated composition of the Banksters Party (B).
I'm sure Dylan Ratigan will have something to say about the Vitter Amendment vote...
Voting on full audit now..
John: Thanks for the updates!
how many votes are needed for an amendment to pass? Is it simple majority?
Sounds like they are calling the roll in preparation for the vote.
I've never watched the Senate vote on something before, but it seems awfully inefficient.
Couldn't they do roll call using some electronic system that would literally take a few seconds?!
While they wait, they are collecting bids from K street.
On the contrary, we want congress votes to be as slow as possible. Why? The less they do, the less damage is done. I say we give them 9 months paid vacation a year.
Vitter amendment just got smashed. No go.
Vitter Amendment defeated.
Just to clarify : Sanders Amend. is an audit going back to 2008 to the present. Vitters Amend. has no time limits; full audit. Roll call then the vote.
This was all predetermined long before today. It was all staged.
What a dissapointment Kaufmen was.
Well, I just wrote Merkley, told him off...and I did not have faith in Wyden, my formal apologize Wyden.
62 Nays on 3760 is the true bankster class. Hagan blows BB then she swallows
Vitters amendment fails.
CONgress thinks of themselves as "elected elite". The unwashed masses who have not been annointed by hahvud are too dumb to understand an appreciate God's work by the Fed.
You can't handle the truth!
Extend and pretend is on!
My senator is such a collosal BHO pumper (Bennet-CO) there was no way he was voting "aye" on Vitter.
I sure hope he enjoyed his brief stay in the Senate.
