Senator Bernie Sanders commenced a filibuster speech at 10:25 am this morning objecting to the proposed tax extension. Three hours later, and now joined by Mary Landrieu, the soliloquy (or is that duoloquy) continues. While the backstage dealing will likely not be impacted much if at all by this speech, it does provide for entertaining viewing. Bernie sure is passionate about the topic.

Tax rates are no problem when you can bribe (oops, I meant "contribute some campaign funds"), to creatures such as Charles Rangel in the Ways and Means Committee to carve out special exemptions for you and your pile of moola! Good point. Singapoore was the easiest place I ever filed taxes, no complcated bullshit. Simple is better, less obfuscation. Exxon Mobil's tax returns are thousands of pages long ( 2009 24,000 pages) in the U.S. , how many man hrs. goes into that on both sides. Unbelievable.
