Welcome to the Big Leagues, Lou

Marla Singer's picture

We hate saying we told you so but... Ex-CNN anchor Lou Dobbs is considering running for president in 2012.

"Well, I’ll tell you this much -- it’s one of the discussions that we’re having," he said. "For the first time, I’m actually listening to some people about politics."

Oh, we believe that, Lou.

The key in getting us to ignore our personal attacks admonition is to make it: 1. Funny. 2. At least SOMEWHAT descriptive.

This is an outrage,,a personal attack on Lou Dobbs. We need a free speech cop to ban this kind of talk.. See the kind of responses it's generated? We need independent moderation.

P.S. Good question D.O.D. , Who the hell is Joe?

Marla,

Leo's attack on Lou could be defined as a "purely personal attack" as well. Louie is way less of a corporate tool than BO and (insert Republican puppet...er...Candidate here).

Below...BCHbum, his name is Jack not Joe, but I still enjoyed the comment.

Mark my words.  Lou Dobbs could win the presidency.

I'm not a fan (far from it) but Lou will bring a freshness to the debate that is long overdue.

Right now Americans have to choose between two sides of the same coin - professional politicians.

I'd vote for him just so he's tear a new one to the status quo.

think Michael Bloomberg - he's got the coin, the creds and base - if  the economy double dips then Barry is toast - but Mike may go mainstream as he is a switch hitter

While I think Bloomy could pull it off as an independent, Dobbs or Palin would not have a prayer - too much baggage - but if either were to run as an independent and have a respectable showing e.g. 20% that would set up 2016 (as long as the economy was in Japanese mode)

Well this is what it's come to.  The Federal government is so messed-up that no sane person would ever want the responsibility of fixing it, so only the haterz, pirates, and egotists seek out the job of POTUS.

Apparently politics isn't polarizing enough already in the "United" States, so we need to dial it up to the point where fear and anger are the only two emotions guiding behavior amongst the tee vee watching masses.

Lou was outraged with the trade deficit with Canada- pretty ignorant since the single largest element of that trade deficit is imported energy (oil, natural gas and electricity) that the U.S. cannot do without.

Someone should have told Dubya that Canada is the largest foreign supplier of oil to the U.S. so he could have held hands with the Canadian Prime Minister instead of the Saudi financiers of terrorism.

Lou ought to study up on the trade deficit with China. China's currency manipulation (sorry Timmy- I do not have to suck up to the Commies) is robbing American Jobs.

Just a simple question: Can anyone tell me what long-lived Assets we have gotten from China for all the long term debt ?

Lou Dobbs - wow.

He's RIGHT on immigration and economic nationalism - think of him as a latter-day Patrick Buchanan.

But- a Palin/Dobbs ticket would be weak on governance experience.

So - how about an all-media ticket?

Bloomberg/Dobbs 2012

Bloomberg has the $$$$ and the cred to govern the US. Dobbs is the ideologist -throws the red meat to the crowd.

I could also see Palin in that administration, as say HHS Secretary.

If only there would come a candidate without a squeeky voice that would be able to tell exactly the problems and the response necessary to  just stop the show and pick through the rubble. Some way of getting 1/2 hour to hour infomercials on each of the 20 major problems facing the country without sound bites or distracting bs. All the unemployed insomniacs watching concise reasons for thier demise late at nite just may just give someone an edge. I just hope it would be a non politician.
