Well That Ramp Was Brief - Futures Give Up All Gains And Trade Near Lows Of Day

Tyler Durden's picture

There. Is. No. Double. Dip.

And with the weakness in macro finally spilling over into micro, and especially in the formerly indomitable  ortress tech space (now the TXN plunge keeping IBM company) please repeat this mantra a few hundred thousand more times each day, to use up all available brain cycles, and to prevent any independent thought as well as the realization of just how broken things truly are.

I agree with your sentiment, but in BizarroWorld, the only time the monster starves is when REAL PEOPLE trade.  Otherwise it is content to feed apon itself.  Meltup forever!!!  DOW 100,000!!!

it just waits for enough REAL PEOPLE to load on one side of the boat and then flips it over so banksters make a killing. you can not change the outcome by participating in the market. they want you to believe you can but its all a farce. Love. God. Market. made up bullshit.

Don't play the market.  Play a stock, or two i.e. T, intc, vz, bmy, sell some puts and calls and spreads and make a few thousand dollars. Forget what you read here other than for contrary thinking, which one day will prove 110% accurate, but not as long as THE FED can simply open their laptops on a beach in Montauk, type in a password and then enter on the numeric keypad: $12,000,000,000,000 into the Treasury christmas club account.

You really can't lose, if you pay attention.

What you can't do is simply buy and hold. That meme is ancient histoire.

Funny how many analysts keep talking about how good earnings are (for the top multi-national companies - not Main Street), but each company that has reported has taken a nose-dive (perhaps except INTC). See BBY, Bed/Bath, Callaway, etc., etc.

And the CNBS/GE folks keep arguing that companies should/are about to/we hope will spend some of this mythical cash on their balance sheets. Probably to buy some GE wind turbines.

And the Teleprompter seems to be laying the groundwork for simply blaming all of this on the Republicans (getting the keys back). Which means no more stimulus. Which while good means we're just driving into the ditch.

And the news out of Europe re: liquidity seems to be getting worse. The IMF circle-jerk/Ponzi scheme wants more money.

As that one analyst said - "we're one headline away from a 950 S&P" (or whatever his target was).

The math (or lack thereof) of it all, just seems so obvious.

Mostly because they are the only ones that are allowed any airtime by our thought leaders in the MSM. Everybody knows you can't tell the truth in a weak economy.

what happens when "better than expected" no longer works?  the bull argument has been to focus on big, blue chip companies with huge cash balances and big overseas business.  if those companies fail to levitate the market, what is left besides futs buying?

There.Is.No.Market.

A gov't sponsored manipulation game is the furthest thing from a market.  Gold manipulated.  FX manipulated.  Equities manipulated.  Oil manipulated.  Americans manipulated.

The slow bleed has begun.  Middle America no more.  Soon to be the 5% ultra-rich and 95% struggling to get by.

Is there any point to even watching this rigged game anymore?

Tue, 07/20/2010 - 00:25 | 478174 batting500

What he actually has at the bottom of his charts is the "Accum. Volume Diff"(Accumulated Volume Differential), basically it looks at the volume of one chart compared to another chart.  So on a daily chart it would be today's chart volume vs the previous days chart volume.
