White House Changes Story Of How bin Laden Was Taken Down
Remember all those stories about bin Laden posing an armed threat and hiding behind a woman leaving the SEALs no other choice but to shoot him? Turns out they were not quite correct. Politico reports: "The White House backed away Monday evening from key details in its narrative about the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, including claims by senior U.S. officials that the Al Qaeda leader had a weapon and may have fired it during a gun battle with U.S. forces.
Officials also retreated from claims that one of bin Laden’s wives was killed in the raid and that bin Laden was using her as a human shield before she was shot by U.S. forces...During a background, off-camera briefing for television reporters later Monday, a senior White House official said bin Laden was not armed when he was killed, apparently by the U.S. raid team." At this point one wonders, as noted yesterday, just how much of the official story spun by the administration will continue to unravel.

At a Pentagon briefing earlier in the day, a senior defense official said bin Laden used a woman as a human shield so he could fire shots. “He was firing behind her,” the official said.
In another background briefing early Monday morning, a senior administration official also said bin Laden put up a fight. “He did resist the assault force. And he was killed in a firefight,” the official said.
Another White House official familiar with the TV briefing confirmed the change to POLITICO, adding, “I’m not aware of him having a weapon.”
“The bottom line is the team that entered that room was met with resistance and took appropriate action,” said a third American official.
The White House on Monday night declined to elaborate on the nature of the resistance bin Laden allegedly put up. However, an official confirmed that the Al Qaeda founder was shot twice, once in the head and once in the chest.
At the Monday evening briefing for TV reporters, a senior official also corrected what Brennan described earlier as “my understanding” that the woman who acted as a shield for bin Laden was one of his wives and was killed.
“A different guy’s wife was killed,” a different official familiar with the briefing for TV reporters said Monday night. Bin Laden’s wife was “injured but not killed,” the official said.
Another official familiar with the operation said it did not appear that any woman was used as a human shield, but that the woman killed and the one injured were hurt in the crossfire. The official said he believed Brennan had mixed up the episode involving bin Laden’s wife with another encounter elsewhere in the compound.
“Two women were shot here. It sounds like their fates were mixed up,” said the U.S. official. “This is hours old and the full facts are still being ascertained as those involved are debriefed.”
In another discrepancy, Brennan said during his on-the-record briefing that bin Laden’s son Khalid was killed in the attack. However, the official White House transcript had the counterterrorism adviser saying it was another son, Hamza, who perished in the raid.
Needless to say, at this point nobody is really holding their breath to see Osama's death certificate.

It doesn't matter if bin Laden was actually alive or dead before the raid, or if he died in the raid or not, or if he ever existed at all. The only thing that matters is that the 'state' now say's he's 'dead', so he's 'dead'.

bin Laden and his captured detainees always said he would not be taken alive. Most likely some form of suicide, either by himself, his wife, or suicide by Navy Seal. He may have threatened to grab a weapon, or suicide vest or whatever scenario , but, he was not going to be captured alive.

The story keeps changing. Early reports were that soldiers were ordered to kill Osama, not to arrest, even if that meant execution-style bullet to the head.
But then the story goes he was armed and fighting and was shot in the head from a distance.
There are video tapes that may never be released that would tell the truth. But there are survivors to the attack that will provide their own eyewitness accounts.

I believe very little of the propaganda that passes for news here in the U.S. This story is the start of some big plans they have and opens up a realm of possibilities. Possibly a face saving exit in Afghanistan however my intuition tells me they want to ramp up a full blown World War III instead. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Saudis didn't tell the US don't under any circumstances, whenever you get him or pretend to get him, bring that body - whoever it is - here. There was literally no place to take that body once they took it - and they couldn't simply leave it, now could they - that would not have caused riots and downfalls of governments, except of course the US, and even that would have been very, very messy.
Occam's razon says the SEALS killed OBL because he was no longer useful alive. And then "buried" the evidence - er, body - at sea because there was no other option. But the question remains - useful to who? Qui buono? Who benefitted by having him alive for so long living in the heart of at least a strong branch of the Pakistani intelligence/military community? Is it really possible that US intelligence only recently discovered where OBL was located, and that we actually took unilateral action? And taking this one step further, one wonders what kind of access that particular branch of the Pakistani intelligence/military community that shielded/used OBL also has to Pakistan's nuclear arsenal? Just an FYI and a minor (or major) correction -
If the government is to be believed, the U.S. has now spent well over 3.5 trillion dollars in responding to OBL's attacks of 9/11, if one includes Iraq, Afghanistan, ops in other places, monies paid to contractors and defense firms, and domestic and global intelligence apparatus expansion.
And I do believe that 3.5 trillion will turn out to be a very conservative figure.
Why are there no names of these alleged "senior WH officials" and "a different official"? This story is full of shit. There's not one single name attached to any of that article. All the sources are un-named.

News reports have consistently said that Bin Laden was shot through his left eye.
The picture shows bin Laden's RIGHT SIDE having suffered damage/blood.
Only an amateur fraud photo maker would make that basic of a mistake...namely, his left is your right, not your left is also his.
I'm not wondering how much the official story will change. What I want to know is why they lied. People lie when they feel pressure, when they feel that telling the truth will get them in trouble. What was so dangerous about telling the truth in this? Why the need to make up a bunch of bullshit?
There is no other logical conclusion to be made other than something is rotten in the state of Denmark. Don't even get me started on the absolutely preposterous justification for supposedly burying him at sea in accordance with Islamic law. Like we have ever cared about Islamic law, or respecting their dead, or about creating martyrs out of al-Qaeda leaders. The whole thing smells to high heaven.
I have grown up my entire life listening to one lie after another spewed from the Federal governmint and their whores from the press and media. The first lie I ever heard was told on November 22, 1963. The next on was about the Gulf of Tonkin, and the lies just kept coming after that, in fact, they have not ceased. That is why whenever I hear a story like this, I immediately doubt it. Why wouldn't I? I have'nt watched any TV {except for a couple sporting events} in years now. Hell, I don't even believe the weather man anymore.
So, I guess they didn't have a live feed after all. Does that mean that tension-filled photo of the gang at the WH was staged?

In any case, he was not ‘evil’; he was no more evil than George Washington was evil for opposing British oppression in HIS country – and he was several orders of magnitude less evil than Kissinger, Truman, Curtis le May, or even Clinton. I would argue that William S Sherman was MORE evil, since the civilians he killed were his own countrymen (and it was more than 3000).

It would be real easy to not only grab his body but the few survivors that where there in order to say that was him along with the 5 HOUR DNA TEST!!!!!!! How in gods name did they manage to get a DNA test that fast and where, the ship didn't have the ability or lab to do a good DNA or any DNA testing. Something about this whole story is bunk.
