You Don't Mess With The LBMA - Assassination Attempt On Silver Market Manipulation Whistleblower?

Tyler Durden's picture

The latest development in Silvergate, in which whistleblower Andrew Maguire has exposed the manipulation details in the London commodity market, is straight out of a John Le Carre or Ian Flemming novel: an assassination attempt. From GATA:

London metals trader Andrew Maguire, who warned an investigator for the
U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission in advance about a gold and
silver market manipulation to be undertaken by traders for JPMorgan
Chase in February and whose whistleblowing was publicized by GATA at
Thursday's CFTC hearing on metals futures trading was injured along with his wife the next day when their car was struck by a hit-and-run driver in the London area.

According to GATA's contact with Maguire, board member Adrian
Douglas, Maguire and his wife were admitted to a hospital overnight and
released today and are expected to recover fully.

Maguire told Douglas by telephone today that his car was struck by a
car careening out of a side road. When a pedestrian who witnessed the
crash tried to block the other driver's escape, the other driver
accelerated at the pedestrian, causing him to jump out of the way to
avoid being hit. The other driver's car then struck two other cars in
escaping. But the other driver was caught by police after a chase in
which police helicopters were summoned.

We'll convey more information about the incident as it becomes available.

We are in process of corroborating this story with independent sources. It will be interesting to see what information the escapee driver discloses and whether this was just a case of a little extra fish and chips and extra, extra beer. In the meantime, the battle against the big banks and the LBMA might have just gotten a little more personal.

Should it turn out that this is a hit on him, this guy is now going through a scary and dark time. I hope he gets himself and his family out of the UK and gets them all to a place where he can at least defend them.

Tungsten, bingo! Also, not to be condescending but 120 is quite the conservative estimate. The Battle of Waterloo was Nathanial Rothschildes coup de grase, 1815. However, Amschel Meyer got going way before that, and he did fund Kings as well.

Rothschilde (Redshield) almost pulled out completely in the public eye. However, the Rothschildes still own Barclays, and Barclays runs gold through the LBMA, and owns 90% of the worlds known silver reserves in ishares silver trust (SLV). How did they get all that silver? Their pawn Buffet (what a name!) bought it off of the comex, turned and sold it directly to Barclays.
Also, ask yourself, did they really walk away? Or did they say they did, so as to hide their actions and benefits? Do you know how many Rothschildes there are? There are thouands of them across the world. They multiplied like locusts right after the five brothers learned about "Darwinism"...too bad for them they thought it would be best to keep the blood in. IMO I think the fact that the Rothschildes are inbred has been one of our most serious problems. Now maybe it will finally be to our benefit (stand up people!) Read Nigel Ferguson's book "House of Rotheschilde"...there are two volumes.
DO NOT LOOK BEHIND THE CURTAIN! When you have been running ALL money for centuries and centuries and centuries, you don't just walk away.
PS, nice avatar...

"It's time to stop pretending things are normal."

There it is, simply stated, instructions on how we either escape from the Matrix or imprison ourselves forever. This is voluntary folks. No one is forcing us to participate in the insanity. As much as we complain and bitch about the injustice, we all hope it will end without damage to ourselves.

Sure, we might have egalitarian motives but it all comes down to our own safety, our own well being, our own ass. So we over emphasize the potential danger to ourselves so we have no choice but not to act or we pretend things are normal, thus removing any reason to act.

We pretend that it isn't that bad, that it could be much worse, that there's too much to lose if we actually act as if the house is on fire and we're in terrible danger. Someone else needs to do something first and then maybe I'll possibly think about participating.....maybe. After I talk it over with the wife, husband, brother, priest, dad, friend, whatever.

This is all voluntary folks, it's all voluntary. Don't point fingers at your jailer when the door is unlocked and you can leave at any time. I can understand being frightened, worried for your safety, concerned for your family. But please, let's not dress this situation up as too difficult to handle. The door is unlocked. You don't want to step through? Fine. But don't bullshit me with some story about how some outside force is stopping you.

Many laws and policies are disguised as stupidity and implemented foolishly or stupidly in order to disarm the intended victim and slip in the back door stealthy like. Those underneath are selected for loyalty and stupidity, or at least the desire to step in front of moving trucks when ordered to do so.

A lot of people didn't like the film because the bad guys didn't lose and are still out there. Sort of like life, isn't it?

I'm convinced that the movie industry has operatives inside that deliberately push out various pieces of propaganda to influence the masses. The International was designed to rub our faces in our own impotence, to demoralize the masses.

I could write a book on this subject but it would never be well received. Who wants to read about how powerless they are and how they enable themselves to be enslaved. People rather dream of the fantasy where the occasional indentured servant escapes to the tropical island. Keeps people getting out of bed in the morning and off to the machine. Our lot in life. Pitiful.

Whistleblowing can be extremely lucrative, especially if government funds are involved:

Under current law, a qui tam relator files suit against the alleged perpetrator of government fraud. The filing is sealed for sixty days, until the Department of Justice (DOJ) determines whether or not it will take on the lawsuit. If the DOJ decides that it will assume the case, the whistleblower is eligible for 15 to 25 percent of the government’s total award for the case; the exact amount depends on the whistleblower’s contribution to the success ofthe suit. If the Justice Department declines to take on the suit, the relator is free to pursue it on his or her own. In this case, the relator is eligible for 25 to 30 percent of the total award.

I believe the award is supposed to be the full amount of government money fraudulantly obtained.

Hmmmm, let's see:  30% of, say, $1.5 Trillion.

i wonder how many people realize just how big this situation is. What i mean is, the gold and silver situation and the entities and powers that move it. During my many, truly many years of research the forces are far above me and probably you and a vast majority of people (and all sheeple of course). This is no game like all those stocks or paper assets.

One day many may wake up and find the FIAT currency fraud has reached  the inevitable conclusion. Keep in mind the USA is on their THIRD central banking scheme. So this scheme is nothing new or something that has not been tried (and failed) before.

Ask yourself why central banks hold gold, perhaps silver, and not any other hard currency. Why is it that gold is the real money of those at the highest levels and countries do gold swaps. The more questions you ask and the more information you seek to learn, the more interesting it gets.

Being a US citizen will not spare an American from getting assassinated by military or intelligence operatives overseas if the individual is working with terrorists and planning to attack fellow Americans - blowing the whistle on an American Organization Deemed Too Big to Fail - especially if JP is massively short with the blessing of the Fed - and no doubt it is so as agent of the Fed - would this not be defendable by the PTB a threat to the nation's strategic security, with potentially 'terrifying' implications - hence a fully legal strike?  Won't be surprised to find the survellience cameras in the vicinity were down for scheduled maintenance, especially if it was in the City.

QUESTION:  It seems obvious that there is far more paper contracts for gold, silver etc than what actually exists in the world.  Even the witness from the CFTC in the meetings admitted there is paper backing packer in a fractional reserve manner.

What does that mean, though?  In the worst case scenario, it would mean a run on gold, but if everyone realizes that their gold contracts are worthless, won't that mean that gold itself will be worthless?  People will run away from gold, and start selling it in order to get their hands on real assets.  So, the take down of paper gold will result in the take down of gold itself, including physical gold.  So, in fact, it's worthless to buy physical gold, because it's essentially a Ponzi scheme.

I don't think it will be the case where physical gold will become more valuable, I think it will just result in massive counterparty risk, just like the CDSs we saw in 2008, where counterparties were unable to pay back their contracts, and the contracts themselves became worthless.  When the gold run starts, gold will spike, but when people realize they won't be able to deliver real gold, they'll just renege on their contracts, which will spark a domino effect on all the contracts, rendering them worthless, to the point where everyone will try to get out of their gold positions, making gold virtually worthless.

People would naturally run towards a more stable asset, such as the US dollar or Chinese Yuan, or some other asset that would then become the next "gold".

Sun, 03/28/2010 - 11:10 | 278658 Raymond K Hassel
Raymond K Hassel's picture

huh?  Physical gold has stored wealth for millenia - the crooked bankers and their phony paper games aren't going to change that even if they collapse.  Paper gold goes and folks rush for paper money?  I'd say if paper gold goes, the markets realize gold is more scarce than they previously were led to believe.  The menu is not the meal.

Sun, 03/28/2010 - 11:30 | 278680 jedwards
jedwards's picture

That's exactly what I'm saying.  It's the consequences of a gold run.

In a bank run, people rush to take their money out of bank before the notes that a bank have given as IOUs become worthless.  Essentially the risk is that the counterparty of the IOU that you hold won't be able to pay back the IOU, making the value of the IOU worthless.

If you have a gold contract or some derivative of paper gold, and the paper is deemed worthless, what will you do as a speculator?  Sell your gold contract and buy physical gold?  Or would you sell off your gold and move your money into a completely different asset class?  I think if the entire gold market's integrity is at question, people will reject gold outright and move their money into something they can trust.  Who knows what that will be, but if this were to occur in the next 5 years, it would likely be either the USD or yuan.

There would be a short period of time where gold spiked to some very high number, but once counterparties stopped delivering and go bankrupt, the paper gold contracts would become worthless and people would be dumping gold hand over fist just to get out of their positions and move their money into something safer and more real.

Think about what happened in the CDS market.  CDSs were great, up until the point where counterparty risk now became a factor.  If Lehman and AIG went belly up, the value of all the CDS contracts would become worthless.  I think possibly the same thing will happen.

Sun, 03/28/2010 - 12:07 | 278707 Raymond K Hassel
Raymond K Hassel's picture

I'm thinking about the CDS market - paper junk derived from paper junk - I don't see it as analogous at all.  If I believed that the paper market was responsible for inflating the price of gold over its underlying value, then I would probably agree with you.  I believe quite sincerely that it's quite the opposite though, so the paper house of cards coming down would have quite the opposite effect.  Gold's true value is quite relative - relative to the ability of alternatives to store value - there are precious few alternatives right now and neither the USD nor the Yuan look like they will be getting better with time, at least not in the short to middle term - they are hardly 'real'.  I still am at a loss to explain the how those who point to gold as having zero intrinsic value are all fiat currency bugs.  The intrinsic value of the dollar is what?  The heat it would yield on fire?

Sun, 03/28/2010 - 13:22 | 278771 jedwards
jedwards's picture

I'm not saying that the USD has any inherent value, it's just that people tend to have the reaction of running to whatever makes them feel safe.  I was surprised that people fled gold and bought USDs during the height of the 2008 crisis.  If the next crisis wasn't because of US debt but because of a run on gold, then possibly the same thing could occur again.  Anyway, this is just idle speculation on my side.
