can we do a logo design competition or something? while the current logo is cool, it just seems like something MUCH more edgy would be appropriate for your site.

Nice job Marla,
You line up the silk screening, you have them manufactured, you get them to market, you announce them as available on the ZH site, and the first comment is let's change the logo.
What's wrong with people, no sensitivity..
I love the LOGO and will be buying two of them.
One for me
And one for my pet dachshund who knows more about economics than the content free Bloomberg site.
Headline today BLOOMBERG

I can see the chin of one of the models. DARPA-funded Mandibular Tomography Scanning is now being employed to identify the identity of the unidentified shirt model. On the plus side, I now can get a shirt to match my cap.

for a logo, that is. One thing i don't quite get still. If there 2 million homes in foreclosure and another 2 million empty but not in foreclosure..how does the supply of homes get down from 13 months to 7 months in about 3 days? and where did all the people who were in those homes go? surely only a maximum of a half were holiday or spec homes or homes surplus to requirements..are 40 yo's living at home now, so we got extended families dwellings? best story to date for the exact parallel of pump priming futility laid bare...the fact that the dealers were bailed out by the cash for clunkers program..as the program bailed out Japanese car manufacturers for a short time..and fords are made in asia and assembled, not manufactured in the US..so a Ford or a Gm car is asian, not USA ..what Bernanke wont figure out is how come the US banking system bail out seems to favour overseas countries and not the USA! heh..ok tongue in cheek, everybody is bailing out their own country so I guess Zimbabwe wins..it may have advance technology in banknote usage! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsMVcMARAGo me I think we are being conned! deflation is good! especially following long periods of rigged inflation..i want cheaper goods, permanently..i want my retirement to be cheaper too, screw all you future unemployed, i vote we give the Fed a negative inflation target so that instead of screwing up all the time..they get it right!
on Wed, 08/26/2009 - 16:22
#49195
How about no FED at all. As for the inflation/deflation, it will shake out something like this: Everything you don't really need is going to get a lot cheaper. The things you really need are going to ramp in price. Take your pick.

As to the housing inventory part of your post, you have to pay attention to "new homes" versus "existing homes". It was the new homes inventory that dropped. Builders finally slowed down in building McMansions.
on Wed, 09/02/2009 - 01:03
#55885
Hooligan, you got your eye on the 8 ball! Where was it, where did it go, who has it now, where are the homes?
We've heard that it was better to bulldoze many of the foreclosed homes because it was cheaper to maintain, and they've already been vandalized of valuable stuff, such as wiring, for the copper; pipes, and a whole bunch of other stuff. In many cases they were harvesting wood, hinges, doors, you name it.
Standord & Son would be quite pleased with the chaches.

point is..its time to do the opposite of what screwed us up to get to this point..i know this is an exposay site..so it doesnt do just opposition to everything..but how about the concept..stop doing what screws us up and do the opposite..it wont necessarilybe the right answer, but it should make people stop doing stupid things while they think about it. even dubya pulled this off by saying something so entirely dumb, no-one could believe he said it..and by that time..he was at closing remarks ( he did have a fantastic memory for names). is he dead?
on Wed, 09/02/2009 - 01:08
#55887
Dobya did some insidious stuff before leaving office. He issued tons of executive order, many of which would become effective on Obama's inauguration day. There are many ways of cancelling executive orders; but Bush did ones that could take several years to cancel.
I suppose it would be easier to issue new ones in direct opposition to the ones Bush put out...
For example, Bush removed a lot of coverage from Medicare... such as some dental work, etc. It will take some time to remove it. They are working on it, but who knows... maybe the current adminstration was just a temporary respit from the Bush bad PR, but the underlying policy was intended to remain, and by the end of Obama's 4th years, the plan is to get another Bush-look-and-act alike.
on Fri, 10/02/2009 - 21:25
#87367
I liken it to something from the novel "Dune". Letting someone like Obama get into office will make liberals and minorities look like fools so much that even another discredited member of the Bush dynasty might be able to get in. Or least, you could manage a story along those lines better and make it cheaper to steal the elections.

Ya know, off topic and all, but I have to laugh at the embedded tracking device crowd.
A key difference between George Orwell and Aldous Huxley is that Orwell saw a future where Big Brother lorded it over us by force, against our will, whereas Huxley saw a future where we brought it upon ourselves and loved it.
You already have a tracking chip that you carry everywhere you go. It's called your mobile phone.

I am so glad they dumbed down the math question. I am a functional illiterate regarding math, or as Rahm...well never mind.
The Zero Hedge fund logo is wonderful. I speak as someone with twenty plus years in branding and design for network tv, cable, etc., as well as work for the Fortune 500 in design.
The logo rocks. The website rocks. It reminds me of that design mag a few years back, what was the name of it? Very skateboard, surferish...very, young.
That's what's good about this site. It's very young.
