There will be no job at GS or Fannie/Freddie.  There will be too much heat on those institutions from the press.  By then, Pimpco will own the universe and because he never did too wrong, they will hire Dodd on with a generic manager position.  He of course will do nothing but smoke cigars and practice his putt all day.  I imagine he will look at his new job more like retirement than anything else.  After all, he had done their bidding in public for long enough.  Time for a little relaxation, eh Chris?

You forgot:

   O   Generic Dick Head Lobbyist

I hereby write in "Generic Dick Head Lobbyist" in Tom Twit Daschle style. And Dodd will steal the postage and anything else that isn't nailed down on his way out the door a la King Klepto Dan Rostenkowski.

Dodd was a dick head generic senator like those cans of generic peas with a white paper label and the word "Peas" on the can. Dodd is a plain white wrapper with the words "Dick Head Senator" on his tie... The tie his staff gave him for X-mas.

But now that you mentioned it...

O    The Secretary of the Treasury

What an outstanding choice by Obama for the ultimate Wall Street patsy as Treasury Secretary. Dodd can not even figure out which way to turn a door knob or water facet. This guy is idiocy gold!

CD will become a "senior policy advisor" for someone inside the beltway.  But it will not be an easy transition.

A- <None of the Above>

The best racket in town for senate washouts is lobbying.  (See- Tom Daschle)

Following his election defeat, Daschle took a position with the lobbying arm of the K Street law firm Alston & Bird. Because he was prohibited by law from lobbying for one year after leaving the Senate,[26] he instead worked as a "special policy adviser" for the firm.[27][28]

Alston & Bird's health care lobbying clients include CVS Caremark, the National Association for Home Care and Hospice, Abbott Laboratories and HealthSouth.[8] The firm was paid $5.8 million between January and September 2008 to represent companies and associations before Congress and the executive branch, with 60 percent of that money coming from the health industry.[9] Daschle was recruited by the former Republican Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole.[29] Daschle's salary from Alston & Bird for the year 2008 was reportedly $2 million.[30]

How about the ROI on the perp himself?  By adding Daschle, Alston & Bird gross $5.8M from Daschle's "work" (I can tell you what $400K of that blood money bought someone, too!) and he pockets $2M (34%).

Hedge fund managers only take 2 and 20.

Dodd gets to walk away ? Scott free ?

Until the US corrects the Politico mechanism....

THERE WILL JUST BE MORE DODDS....

.......................................

Solution: You are using it now....THE INTERNET

A vote should not be cast unless it is via the internet
only after the voter has reviewed the qualifications of a candidate....

Also the Fed Lobbyist System has failed....

Why keep it around ?

To be replaced by State mandates and localized management only....

I'm guessing #4, but I'll probably be wrong.  He might not be smart enough to get while the getting is good.  If I was him I would take my filthy lucre and party like a rock star in some beach-side paradise.  In reality he will become a lobbyist working for Fannie or the FIRE industry.  CEO of Fannie is a little too blatant slap in the face, though having said that I would laugh and laugh and laugh if it happened :)

"He might not be smart enough to get while the getting is good."

I didn't think about that part.

However, when I first saw the news, I thought he was packing his Gold and Silver and moving to another country. I also expect many others to quietly do the same in the coming months.

He's got his little "cottage" in Ireland, courtesy of his friends behind the curtain. And to think his Dad was censured and forced out of the Senate for simple things like double billing on his expense account. Schiff is going to have to wrestle the WWFs Linda E. McMahon for the title (of Senator), and if he can do that he'll be facing the CT AG, Blumenthal. Lieberman was AG before the leap to Senator.

On learning of this, my immediate thought was Dodd will start lobbying.  That seems to be a no-brainer given he knows who to rub elbows with as a sleazy insider ...  But since that isn't an option for the poll, given the options available I think he'd be wise to relocate elsewhere to avoid extradition.

I didn't vote being a non-American - don't want to skew the results.

But even if it changes nothing and even if the US and the rest of OECD is pretty much doomed - which I think we are - it's still nice to see the sun set on at least one festering corrupt disciple of the corporate pigmen.

I asked this on another thread: Wasn't he one of the Friends of Angelo? I'm pretty sure he was.

I have to believe that here in CT, the issue of Dodd getting a VIP mortgage from CountryWide, claiming to know nothing about it, and then getting a pat on the back from his friends in the senate was going to really hurt as his opponents beat him over the head with it every day until the election.

While I despise giving up the power that has made my men behind the curtain extraordinarily wealthy, and personally endowed myself with a well-hidden fortune to last generations, I can honestly say that I thank all the fools who voted for me term after term after term and got fuck all for it. Who's the real fool here. I don't see it in the mirror.

Thank you all, that multitude I was able to rip off for nearly 40 years, and to those few of you whose IOUs I have in a vault, come up with an appropriate alternate career for me. Or Else.

I picked CEO of Fannie, only because this makes the bonuses make a lot more sense.

The last one is a lot more spot on, but getting Tim's spot froze me in my tracks. I knew real terror all of a sudden. The only one worse there would be Baawnee Fwankenfurter.

And Harry Reid would be a triple bonus.

Harry's in big trouble in Nevada. Over the holidays I drove through a little town called Ely,NV on my way to Idaho. A Wild West town in the middle of nowhere that hasn't changed much in 50 years. Signs all along the main roadway through town said " ANYBODY BUTT HARRY REID " . The butt is not misspelled.

I would have selected he'd be knocking over Fort Knox if that was an option. But joining the good men at GS who are doing God's work is the second best.
