WHAT COULD GO WRONG?

Similarly, a number of high-level intelligence officials and politicians have said that the U.S. would fake a provocation and blame it on Iran as a casus belli. For example, Ron Paul has warned of a “Gulf of Tonkin type incident” in Iran, and Pulitzer-prize winning investigative reporter Seymour Hersh says many ideas have been proposed for provoking a war, including building boats that look like Iranian boats, and then putting Navy Seals on them to “start a shoot-up”.
- The CIA admits that it hired Iranians in the 1950?s to pose as Communists and stage bombings in Iran in order to turn the country against its democratically-elected prime minister. Pulitzer-prize winning investigative reporter Seymour Hersh says that the Bush administration (and especially Dick Cheney) helped to fund terrorist groups within Iran (see confirming articles here and here). And the New York Times, Washington Post and others are reporting, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, former national security adviser Fran Townsend and former Attorney General Michael Mukasey – who all said that the terrorists were going to get us if we didn’t jettison the liberties granted under the Bill of Rights – are now supporting terrorists in Iran.

This article only hints at the consequences that will be produced by these madmen in power and I'm not referring to the Iranian leadership. In addition to their radically authoritarian domestic agenda of destroying the US Constitution, impoverishing us through their economic larceny with the intention of making us more desperate with the goal of making us more pliable and subserviant; this looming conflict could conceivably, seriously and irrevocably change life not only in the USA, but everywhere on earth. It seems that only those who lack the power to do otherwise are innocent. The selective use of history has always been used to excuse bad actions. Most are driven by fear, real or imagined. To suppose that any leadership is somehow morally superior to another is to absolutely ignore history as power always corrupts. What makes you believe that backing down will work? Neville Chamberlain? Peace in our time? Once Iran has nukes they will be beyond all constraint. Many are hoping for an economic collapse as an opportunity for reset or revolution. Double the price of oil over any extended period of time and we will be well on our way. I live in Miami. I have to admit that when I read about Iran, I start to imagine downtown as the foreground to a mushrooming nuclear explosion. Something that I never did even during the worst days of the cold war with Russia back in the eighties. Some dirty bomb making the city inhabitable for 40 years (wow). 2) The US pushed the war between Iraq and Iran (that's where Iraq's chemical weapons came from- the US);
