Our transition from Baseball to Football in popularity says something about our society transitioning from an agrarian to a post-indusrial/technology one that I think he is getting at here (but could just be me).

That picture is a perfect example of my thought process. I thought about putting a game in that stadium. It took a while to find a field image that would match perspective and detail. Then when I looked at it the other ideas just fell out of the air.
