How Usury Killed The Economy
WB7, no real quarrel with you; you see what you do, and I see what I do.
Gotta question though: would it have been better to crash the corporation, liquidate and lay off everybody than just some? The corporation still exists and therefore some people (including regular joes and janes that pour coffee and pound pizza) are still drawing a paycheck; isn't that better than total dissolution? (Godfather's pizza was in trouble before Cain took over, and "turned it around").
I hadn't heard he called OWS a communist front, though he probably did; what is your opinion of having labor unions join the fray (on the side of the occupiers)?
(Want to address the semantics of "occupation"? As in
4."the control of a country by a foreign military power"
or similarly taking control of something you don't own?)
(h/t to Dictionary.com)
I merely point out that the business community consists of restructuring artists. I necessary species. However, I lament the demise of the other species, the species that applies imagination to build new and profitable enterprises. I also find it ironic that a pizza and hamburger guy is running for President.
As for Labor, and Pelosi and Rangel etc. They are entitled to their voice. But they will not hijack this movement. If anything the defenders of the status quo will try desperately to color this is a labor/Dem operation.
But that is not what it is.
Frankly, it does not matter what we think, those kids have their own destiny to sort out.
Does anyone see the irony that guy who made his mark in hamburgers and pizza is this weeks GOP flavor of the week.
He's apparently running a special (interest).
And if you examine his history, he was not a success because he was opening restaurants. He was closing them and laying people off. Which I merely observe.
My main beef with him is his stupid fucking characterization of occupy Wall Street as a communist front.
BTW, I was in the bookstore and saw a book titled: Why Chinese Communists make better capitalists than Americans.
The word communist is an epithet, a slogan loaded with connotation. That is all it is now.
Those communists are loaning us capitalists trillions of dollars to stay afloat, and now it turns out we'll be bumming rides into space with the socialists we "defeated" a few years back.
I don't think the term communist in the traditional sense properly describes what we are dealing with in China.

Those were some great images, Banzai! And the Pink Slip really hit the spot.
I'm trying to figure out if the Timmay 2014 image is one I've seen before--loved it in any case.
I did it last week. I don't think I put it up though. But if I did. Take that again! ;-)

A presidential panel created by President Barack Obama to find ways to create jobs is run by executives famous for slashing payrolls and battling unions, The Los Angeles Times reports.
Panel member Kenneth I. Chenault, chairman and chief executive of American Express, eliminated 550 jobs, or about 1 percent of the company's work force, around a time the company made $1.1 billion in the fourth quarter of 2010, up 48 percent from the same period the previous year.Read more: LA Times: Obama’s Jobs Panel Run by Layoff-Happy Execs ...and so on ...
This is what Cain did as well. There is no Steve jobs on that panel.
WB7,

The Wall Street pink slips should come in handy for The Billionaires Tour! scheduled tomorrow in mid town. I'm sure Paulson, Murdoch, Milstein, and Jamie Dimon will cherish their pink slips as a momento of the Second American Revolution. I'll bet they look fabulous on a cell wall!
Keep up the useful graphics WB7! Muchas Gracias

" This is a goal the power elite cannot comprehend. They cannot envision a day when they will not be in charge of our lives. The elites believe, and seek to make us believe, that globalization and unfettered capitalism are natural law, some kind of permanent and eternal dynamic that can never be altered. What the elites fail to realize is that rebellion will not stop until the corporate state is extinguished. It will not stop until there is an end to the corporate abuse of the poor, the working class, the elderly, the sick, children, those being slaughtered in our imperial wars and tortured in our black sites. It will not stop until foreclosures and bank repossessions stop. It will not stop until students no longer have to go into debt to be educated, and families no longer have to plunge into bankruptcy to pay medical bills. It will not stop until the corporate destruction of the ecosystem stops, and our relationships with each other and the planet are radically reconfigured. And that is why the elites, and the rotted and degenerate system of corporate power they sustain, are in trouble. That is why they keep asking what the demands are. They don’t understand what is happening. They are deaf, dumb and blind.
“The world can’t continue on its current path and survive,” Ketchup told me. “That idea is selfish and blind. It’s not sustainable. People all over the globe are suffering needlessly at our hands.” "
...
..
I have been thinking about the word globalization. The word global has been hijacked.
yes, they have stolen and hijacked everything.
it is the system and the result of the magic of
usury in our idiotic money system ( for the 99% ).
brilliant system for the 1%.
side note. a representative of my employer referred
to me and my co-workers as "assets" the other day.
the speaker had no problem with that statement and
choice of word nor did my co-workers object.
another hijacking! so , this language abuse is
near the core of the problem. but the bastards won't
get away with it !
You are not an asset you are human capital.
And the IMF referring to people in the US paying residential mortgages as "Homeowners". I've been a home buyer ever since taking out a mortgage.
The only US middle class homeowners I know of don't make mortgage payments.
sheesh. that is too funny.

Machiavellian genius with a prize at the bottom! I love you WB7.
Cain can synch the election NOW by announcing Ron Paul as his running mate and telling the country that the VP will be responsible for tearing through the banks, prosecuting and ending the federal reserve system. NOTHING COULD STOP them if he did those two things.
my guess is that ron paul would not run for anything
with that guy. just a guess.
You do know Cain is the former head of the KC Federal Reserve Bank, dontcha?
Is that why they call him "Federal Reserve Chairman Herman Cain"?

Pasquino: Talking statue of Rome -
http://www.italyguides.it/us/roma/rome/myths-and-legends/talking-statue-...
Rome already had an active practice of attributing the general population's discontent to statues. During the night, notes with satirical verses attacking the most well-known public figures would be hung around the necks of statues in the busiest parts of town so that in the morning they could be seen and read by everyone before being removed by guards.
These stinging insults came to be called “Pasquinate,” taking the name of the statue that best demonstrated the people's discontent about corruption and abuses of power. But that's not all: these same powerful people often used the Pasquino to spread slander against their political opponents, with the authors naturally being well compensated.
.
The controversial Pope Hadrian VI tried to throw the statue in the Tiber but was stopped by his cardinals, who warned him about the possibility of the Roman populace retaliating with even stronger blasts of satire. Then, Pope Sixtus V and Pope Clemente VIII both tried to get rid of the statue, without success. When Benedetto XIII decided to install a night watchman to guard the statue, the pasquinate multiplied so exponentially that the Pope issued an edict threatening death, incarceration, and branding for anyone caught posting rhymes.
