Egyptian Brutality Comes to America: Police Fire Rubber Bullets at Peaceful Protesters
This is not Egypt, Greece or Italy ... this is America:
The injured gentlemen is Veterans for Peace member Scott Olsen, allegedly shot with a rubber bullet.
This is another gentlemen allegedly shot in the face with a rubber bullet (his injury is above his right eye, while the injury to Scott Olsen appears to be on the left side of his face):

Here are police roughing up a peaceful woman protester:
And a policeman threw a flash grenade into a crowd trying to help an injured protester:
Some are calling this the "new Kent State".
And protesters from Tahrir Square, Egypt, say this is what it looked like there.

Not where it gets below freezing.
I felt like Google-ing 'Nikolai Ceaucescu' right now...don't know why...
don't bother I hear he's dead...
on to the next one
I just bought a gas mask! Fuck Oakland and the scumbag police, police chief and the FUCKING piece of shit mayor!
May want to add a motorcycle helmet to your list of neccessities.
Is your "gas mask" new? Maybe unused but an old Israeli civilian mask? Do you know how to clear your protective mask to get a good seal? Do you know how often the filters need replacing even when it sits on the shelf? Do you know how to replace the filters? (Some are easy.) Did it even come with filters? Should they be replaced now? Do you know how much it cuts your peripheral vision? Will you be running and breathing hard? Going to be pretty hot in there. Do you know how facial hair reduces the effectiveness? Shave that beard. OK, now you've encountered dense tear gas and are back home. Do you know what temperature to wash your clothes at so it doesn't fill the house with CS? Do you know how to clean your mask?
OK, have a nice time fucking the mayor, dear. Drive safely.
Thank god all this information is freely available to anyone, anywhere thanks to the internet.
Yeah! You don't know optimal gas mask usage, so stay home with this douchebag.
Please, go ahead and get tear gas trapped inside your mask. The proletariat revolution needs its cannon fodder.
Landrew, you may need some of these items to help your cause. Better call dad first to charge up the plastic first so you can get a double shot at Starbucks first, energy and shit you know.
http://savingtherepublic.com/down%20with%20evil%20corporations.jpg
Why are you supporting the war machine by buying a gas mask?
wow, several levels w/'War Machine" meme, esp." (that the #OW-Fucktardz don't comprehend that they are in the clobberin' zone) ((and of course that is in the zone of agentz provacateurz))
{Hendrix was so cool, even with his "pigz" thingie ;-) }
{{lmao on a gas-mask, puppiez nevah tried one nor done something useful--what a bitch it b}}
Fucking Obama supporters running amok...its getting tiresome.
As soon as they show up at a solar panel CEO's house I'll stand up and take notice.
Hypocrites.
Aw stfu you worthless Babbitt.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babbitt_(novel)
How did I know I'd find you here pulling your goalie?
Witless divisive sycophants like you are part of the problem. I just pray that you don't have any kids to warp. In fact if you are childless I hope those ostensibly sticking their necks out on your behalf, yet you waste so much energy denigrating because they simply don't pump your nag the way you like it, light you up and piss you out while singing:
"The Stars at night, are big and bright!"
clap!clap!clap!clap!
...
I do have kids.
And you will be heartened to know I am "warping" them to understand the difference between right & wrong. That it is not the proper role of government to bailout any company.
Whether its unprofitable solar companies or banks.
"I do have kids"
In that case I'll say that I don't wish for you to be 'lit up and pissed out' by those you incessantly detract, not in front of your children anyway. Otherwise I'll continue savouring the imagery, because it is your definitions of 'right and wrong' that are warped, taken all in all.
As for the rest, you're just trying to reach your hand far enough up my ass so that you can wag my tongue, as usual. Brushing your weak implication aside: of course I have never said I was for either of your apples and oranges examples. Everyone who isn't a complete fool can see your lips moving.
Now run along George and fetch your quote of mine so that you may misrepresent it; which is probably exactly the sort of 'righteous' behavior you will end up passing on to your unfortunate children.
Poor little gaffers, I hope they realize before it's too late that they are being raised by this guy
"In that case I'll say that I don't wish for you to be 'lit up and pissed out' by those you incessantly detract, not in front of your children anyway."
Good move on your part...they're very good shots...as am I.
cheap shots, that is.
Face/palm.
This, from someone who has never failed to take cheap shots from afar.
Ba dum cha!
I suppose I am morally obliged to admit that you are an easy target...
Tell you what nmewn, and you'll have to humour me here, let's take a shot at setting aside our painfully obvious ideological differences for awhile and instead try to outline our shared goals (to your credit, this was an idea originally suggested by yourself ).
It's my turn for the olive branch so I'll start and offer a viewpoint that I have which I believe we see eye to eye on, then you reciprocate if you can:
1. Gov'ts need to be fiscally responsible, IE No annual deficits, and outstanding national debts must be reduced until they are eradicated entirely.
Well, I don't know if two people who are so completely ideologically opposite can find much common ground but I will try to humor you ;-)
Agreed on one...the motion is passed.
2. No one has a right to anothers labor.
Aw geez: you make a beeline for where Adam Smith crosses over to Marx for your first contribution? I'm being genuine here; it seems you always have to be setting some sort of trap...at least you're playing, I guess.
What about contractual obligations? Social responsibility? <sigh> In the spirit of keeping this going I'll agree with 2, as long as we can caveat it with
"No one inherently has the right to anothers labor" eg. whites enslaving blacks, or vice versa
If we're still on the same page I'll cherry pick another:
3. If the medium for exchange is to be Gov't issued paper, its worth must be attached to some internationally accepted, verifiable, tangible store of value.
Also, after reviewing this comment, mb we ought to begin adding our replies to one of our comments higher on the thread before the new ones become totally illegible.
Its not a trap. Its a fundamental principle to build a lasting society around.
No one has a right, period, to anothers labor or the fruits thereof. Just because a majority uses the ballot to pillage the minority doesn't make it correct. Just as it doesn't make it correct that the well connected minority uses power & law to take from the majority...the socialization of loss.
Agreed on three, as long as its gold or silver...not a basket of currencies. Independent, sovereign currencies backed by precious metals have the history of stability we seek.
tagged reply onto another comment to keep it legible, look for
"It's not a trap"
Green here for you, nmewn. This is what our kids need to learn. Besides, failure has always been the best learning and improving platform, bar none.
Bar none.
The ugliness of your children is not germaine here.
"The ugliness of your children is not germaine here."
Oh, very good...lol.
I'll tell my wife about that. She's blonde with piercing green eyes ;-)
To hell with this name calling and disparaging remarks crap. I may not agree with nmewn completely on this, but his opinion is rightfully expressed as are the opinions of OWS. As a conservative Constitutionalist, it was on my watch that capitalism was hijacked. I sat by silently for too long as .Gov over-spent and the Fed over-printed and the economic growth mantra was forced. And we expect the socialists NOT to come out of the woodwork to express righteous anger?
I honestly do not fear OWS expression. I DO fear the crushing of dissent and what it means for this country.
Was at the #OWS in NYC this past Sat. afternoon....
At least 5% were anarchists, Ron Paul types and the like... Saw a number of V for Vendetta wannabes. Be very careful how you paint with that brush, your hate is showing...
If you are equating Ron Paul with anarchists, you are truly a MORON!
Why don't you crawl back into your hole and brush up on your reading comprehension.
"Was at the #OWS in NYC this past Sat. afternoon...."
lol...I rest my case ;-)
I'm making a point here Flak. These people are also about government subsidation and bailouts for the ALL the things they approve of. They have no problem with allowing the government to come in and steal for their purpose.
They protest poisoning the enviroment and then turn and push for the little curly light bulbs with mercury inside them...manufactured in China. Yeah, that makes sense. They protest the bank bailouts, when it is the Fed who buys government debt to facilitate printing trillions because of the actions of drunken politicians they support.
Beause someone holds up a Ron Paul sign means less than nothing. Ron Paul is not for bailing out curly light bulb manufacturers or gullible, impressionable young people who thought majoring in arts & literature was a path to success.
The criminal element can see all this naivete as well. They are down there stealing these kids shit right and left...from laptops to iphones because there is no security...an "open society" with no structure or purpose, spouting words like democracy having no idea (despite their pedigree and/or degrees) what that really means...wandering around aimlessly waiting to be abused.
Its a sad commentary on our youth...an even sadder commentary on the adults who refused to guide them properly in the past.
My freind, I attended an Occupy event in a lib-zombie city a few hours from me. They happened to be focusing on Monsanto, GMO and the corporatized food industry. Maybe I caught them on a good day... There were excellent speakers and a conservative farmer who spoke. They criticized Obama and his food czar on four separate occasions, Bush on two occassions. I was mightily heartened by this.
This anecdote is just that, and it doesn't speak for the entire movement or what force may emerge. But, those people booed Obama. Maybe I'm naive, but I dislike a country that crushes dissent more than I dislike socialist dissent.
Edit: You said, "Beause someone holds up a Ron Paul sign means less than nothing." No, it means everything. There is mixed righteous anger. Some of us RP supporters are going to ows events to try to talk about Austrian school principles and talk of how the CBs are the root of this mess, that free markets are the only sustainable way out.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'll keep your post in mind.
"Some of us RP supporters are going to ows events to try to talk about Austrian school principles and talk of how the CBs are the root of this mess, that free markets are the only sustainable way out."
There is no doubt they need guidance. Clearly education at every basic & even elevated level has failed them.
I went to the FSU-Maryland game in Tallahassee last weekend. They have an OWS going on there as well. There were ten tents, a camper trailer and a few cars. Its not a mass movement...Tallahassee is as a "progressive" a town as you're going to find.
I've made up my mind what it is in the big cities. No one has a right to anothers labor...which is at the nub of what I'm seeing. They (OWS in those cities) are just now discovering the same thing. The freeloaders have arrived and the people of OWS-NYC are tired of working to feed them...the freeloaders...its like little mirocosims of life & economies...lol.
If you think you can help turn some wayward souls, more power to you my friend.
Why you can be so against our lower class welfare state, but seldom, IF EVER, speak against the $trillions transferred to the corporate welfare dependancy class robbing YOUR labor is why and how you lose credibility in this forum.
You speak in a neocon tone while hiding behind a tea party platform. You defend a corporate socialist/fascist state, in the name of capitalism.
And to be so adamant about it... I don't get it, man. It's a fucking shame.
You are not comprehending what I'm saying.
I was against corporate bailouts before it was ever a popular position. I defend free markets, not centrally planned crony capitalism. Part of the free market system is the destruction of malivestment not saving it.
You are seeing/reading what you want to see/read.
No nmewn, he's not. You're writing one thing and then saying it's another.
I've read enough of your posts to admit I may have been a bit over the top... In these sensitive times. But maybe, MAYBE, you have too.
Sometimes its the only way to drive a point home ;-)
Naw, your true colors showed through. You are just a hateful asshole...
BTW, went to a Broadway matinee and the girlfriend suggested we check out #OWS and hit Little Italy for dinner...I was curious to see what was really going on down there without the prism of the MSM to filter stuff. I was very impressed by the diversity of people and "causes" that I saw. A lot of wackadoos as well as angry young people. I told the guy at the Marxist literature table that while Marx was a great analyst of capitalism, his solution was flawed. Lots of End-the-Fed posters, picked up a few $3 Fraudulent Reserve Notes for a souvenir...The only signs that were candidate related were for Ron Paul....
Edit: Why do you read up on Mercury emissions and CFL's. You are being an ignorant asshole, I always thought you were above parroting Beck and Limbaugh...
"Naw, your true colors showed through."
I have never described myself as anything other than a fiscal conservative with a libertarian bent. Its what I believe. Who's lying now?
"You are just a hateful asshole..."
LOL!!!...well, I can be an asshole, no doubt about it, hateful not too much outside of communists & socialists and the willingly ignorant...but we've already plowed that ground eh Flak? ;-)
"Why do you read up on Mercury emissions and CFL's."...I know you're not claiming there is not mercury in those little curly light bulbs...are you?
"I always thought you were above parroting Beck and Limbaugh..."...I parrot no one. I tried to watch Beck one time and couldn't make it five minutes...Limbaugh is on when I'm at work and I don't have a radio in my office. So you're guessing is way off Flak.
I will note AGAIN...they are not protesting what they desire government to do for them at the expense of others...thats why they are not in DC...which a distinct difference from me, where I ask no one to pick up my debts and I empower no one to steal from anyone else on my behalf.
You are being an obstinate fuck-tard...
Why don't you google up Mercury emissions and CFLs. Your line was exactly the bullshit I heard from Beck and Rush and other non-thinking knee jerk "conservatives"
The possession of a functioning anus allows you to have to your own political beliefs and the choice to spout nonsense about them but it does not allow you to make shit up where the facts are known.
Quit dancing...are you are saying there is no mercury in the little "green" GE curly bulbs?
Yes or no Flak.
Edit: Crickets.
Why don't you set up a circle jerk in a Ron Paul thread for posters of similar intellectual ability and integrity...
I have better things to do than to bandy words with a closed minded bigoted hateful fool like yourself....
I once gave you the benefit of a doubt. Never again. This is not Fight Club anymore, it has become Hate Club.
Sooo...I'll take that as...a yes, they do contain mercury.
Have a "greenie" on me ;-)
Seeya
Ron Paul types? Ron Paul is the only candidate willing to take on the banking cartel.
you and your friends stop paying their wages then ...pay zero tax, see how long they support the US Govt without you paying their wages
How? Please be specific. Reference to some website that will tell me how to get away with not paying taxes. I'd prefer to keep my property/ belongings and stay out of prison also.
