Fun With Google Translate
If you hit the "Listen" button, Google translate will say words out loud with the correct accent.
This is usually helpful for learning a foreign language. But when Google doesn't know how to translate from English, the results can be amusing.
Here are 3 English expressions which Google doesn't know how to translate into French:
- S & P, moron (click here for background)
- Bernanke pusherman (click here and here for explanation). Or if you want to hear his full title: Helicopter Ben Bernanke pusherman
Hit the "Listen" button on the right, and listen to the French pronunciation.
The Wall Street booster-in-chief deserves special mention.
And for more crude (nsfw) expressions, there is always this one for Secretary of Treasury Tim Geithner and - given the wholesale regulatory capture of virtually everyone in D.C. by Wall Street - this expression could come in handy in a wide variety of circumstances.

Another interesting translation was posted on social networks recently, from French to English. "Le coq sportif" is a French brand of clothes, and putting "j'aime le Coq Sportif aujourd'hui" (I love le coq sportif today) into Google translate, transforms this brand into .... Adidas!
