9/11 Commission: We Never Got All of the Facts
9/11 Commissioners admit that they never got to the bottom of 9/11. For example:
- 9/11 Commission co-chair Lee Hamilton says "I don't believe for a minute we got everything right", that the Commission was set up to fail, that people should keep asking questions about 9/11, and that the 9/11 debate should continue
- 9/11 Commissioner Bob Kerrey said that "There are ample reasons to suspect that there may be some alternative to what we outlined in our version . . . We didn't have access . . . ." He also says that it might take "a permanent 9/11 commission" to end the remaining mysteries of September 11
Indeed, 9/11 Commissioners and other officials say that the true facts were hidden from them, or covered up (you don't have to get bogged down in reading this section - you can skip ahead to the next, if you like; this is just documenting that the 9/11 Commission report is in no way the last word on 9/11):
- The 9/11 Commission’s co-chairs said that the 9/11 Commissioners knew that military officials misrepresented the facts to the Commission, and the Commission considered recommending criminal charges for such false statements (free subscription required)
- 9/11 Commissioner Timothy Roemer said “We were extremely frustrated with the false statements we were getting”
- 9/11 Commissioner Max Cleland resigned from the Commission, stating: “It is a national scandal”; “This investigation is now compromised”; and “One of these days we will have to get the full story because the 9-11 issue is so important to America. But this White House wants to cover it up”
- The Senior Counsel to the 9/11 Commission (John Farmer) – who led the 9/11 staff’s inquiry – recently said “At some level of the government, at some point in time…there was an agreement not to tell the truth about what happened“. He also said “I was shocked at how different the truth was from the way it was described …. The tapes told a radically different story from what had been told to us and the public for two years…. This is not spin. This is not true.” And he said: “It’s almost a culture of concealment, for lack of a better word. There were interviews made at the FAA’s New York center the night of 9/11 and those tapes were destroyed. The CIA tapes of the interrogations were destroyed. The story of 9/11 itself, to put it mildly, was distorted and was completely different from the way things happened”
- A 27-year CIA veteran, who chaired National Intelligence Estimates and personally delivered intelligence briefings to Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, their Vice Presidents, Secretaries of State, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and many other senior government officials, and who has for years been a tireless anti-war advocate and critic of imperial foreign policy (Raymond McGovern) said “I think at simplest terms, there’s a cover-up. The 9/11 Report is a joke”
- A 29-year CIA veteran, former National Intelligence Officer (NIO) and former Director of the CIA’s Office of Regional and Political Analysis (William Bill Christison) said “I now think there is persuasive evidence that the events of September did not unfold as the Bush administration and the 9/11 Commission would have us believe (and see this)
- A number of intelligence officials, including a CIA Operations Officer who co-chaired a CIA multi-agency task force coordinating intelligence efforts among many intelligence and law enforcement agencies (Lynne Larkin) sent a joint letter to Congress expressing their concerns about “serious shortcomings,” “omissions,” and “major flaws” in the 9/11 Commission Report and offering their services for a new investigation (they were ignored)
- A decorated 20-year CIA veteran, who Pulitzer-Prize winning investigative reporter Seymour Hersh called “perhaps the best on-the-ground field officer in the Middle East”, and whose astounding career formed the script for the Academy Award winning motion picture Syriana (Robert Baer) said that “the evidence points at” 9/11 having had aspects of being an inside job
- The Division Chief of the CIA’s Office of Soviet Affairs, who served as Senior Analyst from 1966 – 1990. He also served as Professor of International Security at the National War College from 1986 – 2004 (Melvin Goodman) said “The final [9/11 Commission] report is ultimately a coverup”
- According to the Co-Chair of the Congressional Inquiry into 9/11 and former Head of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Bob Graham, an FBI informant had hosted and rented a room to two hijackers in 2000 and that, when the Inquiry sought to interview the informant, the FBI refused outright, and then hid him in an unknown location, and that a high-level FBI official stated these blocking maneuvers were undertaken under orders from the White House (confirmed here)
- Congressman Ron Paul calls for a new 9/11 investigation and states that “we see the [9/11] investigations that have been done so far as more or less cover-up and no real explanation of what went on”
- Congressman Dennis Kucinich hints that we aren’t being told the truth about 9/11
- Congressman Jason Chafetz says that we need to be vigilant and continue to investigate 9/11
- Senator Lincoln Chaffee endorses a new 9/11 investigation
- Congressman Dan Hamburg doesn’t believe the official version of events
- Congressman and senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, and who served six years as the Chairman of the Military Research and Development Subcommittee Curt Weldon has shown that the U.S. tracked hijackers before 9/11, is open to hearing information about explosives in the Twin Towers, and is open to the possibility that 9something very different from the Bush-Cheney version of events occurred on 9/11

- Former Federal Prosecutor, Office of Special Investigations, U.S. Department of Justice under Presidents Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan; former U.S. Army Intelligence officer, and currently a widely-sought media commentator on terrorism and intelligence services (John Loftus) says “The information provided by European intelligence services prior to 9/11 was so extensive that it is no longer possible for either the CIA or FBI to assert a defense of incompetence”
- The Group Director on matters of national security in the U.S. Government Accountability Office said that President Bush did not respond to unprecedented warnings of the 9/11 disaster and conducted a massive cover-up instead of accepting responsibility
- Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense under President Ronald Reagan (Col. Ronald D. Ray) said that the official story of 9/11 is “the dog that doesn’t hunt”
- Several key employees for the defense department say that the government covered up their testimony about tracking Mohammed Atta before 9/11
- The former director of the FBI (Louis Freeh) says there was a cover up by the 9/11 Commission
High-Level Officials Want to Explain 9/11 ... But Are Being Gagged
There are high-level officials who can tell us why 9/11 happened ... but they are being ignored or gagged.
As Senator Patrick Leahy said that Congress doesn't want to know what happened:
The two questions that the congress will not ask . . . is why did 9/11 happen on George Bush’s watch when he had clear warnings that it was going to happen? Why did they allow it to happen?
And the people who can explain what happened are being gagged.
FBI Translator - "The Most Gagged Person" In History
For example, former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds - President of the National Security Whistleblower Coalition - who has been deemed credible by the Department of Justice's Inspector General, several senators (free subscription required), and a coalition of prominent conservative and liberal groups - has fought for years to testify about what she knows about 9/11, and has repeatedly asked to be subpoenaed (so as to avoid violation of her oath of secrecy as a government employee).
The ACLU described Edmonds as:
The most gagged person in the history of the United States of America.
And famed Pentagon Papers whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg says that Edmonds possesses information "far more explosive than the Pentagon Papers".
Not a single politicians or prosecutor has been willing to issue a subpoena.
Edmonds also made the following offer:
If anyone of the major networks --- ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, FOX --- promise to air the entire segment, without editing, I promise to tell them everything that I know," about everything mentioned above, she told us.
"I can tell the American public exactly what it is, and what it is that they are covering up," she continued. "I'm not compromising ongoing investigations," Edmonds explained, because "they've all been shut down since."
Not a single major network has let Edmonds say what she knows.
Indeed, Ellsberg says that the government has ordered the media not to touch Edmonds:
Ellsberg seemed hardly surprised that today’s American mainstream broadcast media has so far failed to take [former FBI translator and 9/11 whistleblower Sibel] Edmonds up on her offer, despite the blockbuster nature of her allegations.
As Edmonds has also alluded, Ellsberg pointed to the New York Times, who “sat on the NSA spying story for over a year” when they “could have put it out before the 2004 election, which might have changed the outcome.”
“There will be phone calls going out to the media saying ‘don’t even think of touching it, you will be prosecuted for violating national security,’” he told us.

“I am confident that there is conversation inside the Government as to ‘How do we deal with Sibel?’” contends Ellsberg. “The first line of defense is to ensure that she doesn’t get into the media. I think any outlet that thought of using her materials would go to to the government and they would be told ‘don’t touch this . . . .‘”
Other Whistleblowers Being Silenced
Edmonds also says that she has been contacted by two high-ranking military officers who would like to shed light on 9/11, but - due to their oaths of secrecy - can only do so if subpoenaed. No one in Washington wants to issue a subpoena.
High-Level Military Intelligence Officer: No One In Washington Wants To Know
Similarly, a high-level military intelligence officer says that his unit - tasked with tracking Bin Laden prior to 9/11 - was pulled off the task, and there warnings that the World Trade Center and Pentagon were being targeted were ignored.
Moreover, he says that he has information that can shed light on 9/11, and that he has repeatedly tried to get this information to the Obama administration and Congress, but that no one in the administration or Congress wants to hear about it. As just one example, Nancy Pelosi's office demanded that he not even email any information which he has about 9/11.
He is still working in military intelligence, and so he can only publicly speak about 9/11 if he is subpoenaed. He is therefore asking that he be subpoenaed ... but no one wants to look into it:
There are numerous other whistleblowers with key information about 9/11. But no one in the government or media wants to hear what they know.
9/11 was one of the most important events in American history, as 10 years of war in numerous countries - costing trillions of dollars - and the crackdown on liberties like freedom of speech have all been justified by that one event. And yet the politicians in D.C. and the corporate media don't want to hear from the people who can explain the gross incompetence (or worse) which occurred on that day

Yeah crazy how the outgoing Clinton anti-terrorist task force repeatedly pushed the Al Qaeda issue and OBL. Strangely and I'm sure coincidentally (9/11 being the most coincidence creating event in human history donchya know) Bush/Cheney called off the task force investigating the Bin Ladens. They then split up Iraq's oil under Cheney's energy task force, received many, MANY warning from multiple FBI and other intel agencies foreign and domestic and yet they failed to stop 9/11. Of course if Cheney/Rumsfeld hadn't been doing all those drills I have no doubt our men and women in the airforce would have put a stop to it. Just as our men and women in intel did their best to put a stop to it and were repeatedly stopped.
By the way I see the Democrats who failed to push for a thorough and transparent investigation UNDER OATH (remember Dick and George didn't testify under oath...or on the record) as being complicit in 9/11. I certainly don't hold ONE political party responsible, that's just silly. It's clearly a bi-partisan issue, but there is also no question that Dick Cheney in particular bears much of the responsibility for the response or lack thereof on 9/11. I do notice however, that a disproportinate amount of Republicans seem to support the official story which is sad as this is NOT a partisan issue.
Cheney and the Bush family had no expereince being on the inside did they? Dad never had any pull over at the CIA. Grand dad never did anything wacky with enemies of the state.

I would take this apart piece by piece, but it is generally crap.
Just the big points:
1. Virtually all of your sources are anti-Bush Democrats and there is nothing new there - there is nothing less than 5 years old that I saw and a bunch of it is 10 yrs old and much of it comes from newspaper reports in 2004:
a. Well before the report was even made
b. By Dems in an election year
2. The 'coverup' by DoD has nothing to do with it being an inside job, but the fact that they had no idea how to respond because to one had anticipated a coordinated attack on the US mainland - and being that the military's job is to defend the US it is kind of embarrassing to be the 'keystone cops' when your portrayed as the most professional part of the US government.
Seriously guys, 9/11 was a clusterfuck where a relatively small well financed group was able to exploit all of our vulnerabilites by doing something we didn't consider possible and then in the aftermath reponded like any disrupted organization - initially by acting like the keystone cops and then by pointing fingers at each other and saying it was your fault.
No where in your rant is there anything about the walls put up by the Clinton administration blocking the transfer of information between agencies or the fact that this happened 9 months into an adminstration that due to a court challenge over the election was 3 months behind in getting its appointees in place because the previous adminstation blocked the funds for transition until the Supreme Court settled it.
This is not meant as a defense of the clusterfuck Bush administration. This is Occam's Razor - the simplest answer is likely the most plausible - a small well financed group got inside our defenses and took us down.

Lindauer claims to have hand delivered Card multiple warnings in July and August 2001 of an eminent attack on lower Manhattan by terrorists. Prior to the beginning of the Iraq war, 3/2003, the Bush Justice Department had her jailed under the Patriot Act and left on ice for 5 years without a trial. Oops.

It has been my opinion that if the military or intelligence was going to pull off 9/11, the planes would have hit the towers at night. I have not seen much debate about this. If you pull this off at 10 o'clock in the evening, darkness would have hidden the falling of wt7. Why pull it off in the morning?
If it was a false flag, you wouldn't want to kill the most people, you just want to scare the shit out of Americans. If the planes were remote controlled or actually not airliners, but something else, darkness hides it.
I could be wrong and you can easily say that the terrists would not have been able to hit their targets at night as easy as morning.

If it was a psyop (pyschological operation) then they would have gone for maximum psychological impact. Daytime makes the most sense and the toll on human lives would have been part of the cost for the perceived benefit to the perpetrators.
Good effort, MarkS, but the folks on the other side of the argument have far too much emotional capital invested in the conspiracy theory to take the time to follow links for the full context, read the full transcripts of public agencies on that day (NYPD, NYFD), try to accurately measure what they just assume is "free fall" (if they even know how to calculate it), view the many conflicting photographs that show floors collapsing, outer columns bowing, debris falling faster than the buildings (i.e., faster than freefall), or view the many photographs of the extensive damage to WTC7 early in the morning after debris from the north tower hit it, see the raging fires in the building, or do anything that might conflict with the comfortable world of anger and indignation that they have built.
Even if the Truthers are not willing to do any of this, I often think how illuminating it would be for them if they just visited a blacksmith.

While it might be comforting to you to believe anyone who doesn’t buy the conspiracy theory is a paid shill or suffers from “normalcy bias” (my, don’t we love buzzwords and psychobabble), some people follow links and read full quotes, not just the carefully mined portions. Some people look at all the photos, read the documents, read the transcripts, and have a science background that tells them the conspiracy arguments do not hold water. Some people can see no “free fall” was involved except for those pieces that fell away from the three buildings as they collapsed. Some people have viewed the images showing sagging floors and bowed steel beams, weakened by heat and pressure. Some people have seen that the buildings did not fall into their “own footprint”. Some people call bullshit on the “NORAD told to stand down” shiboleth. Some people are skeptical of the supposed motivations behind the conspiracy, which are absurd to the point of being delusional.
Some people are as unwilling to trust anything Alex Jones, Webster Tarpley, George Washington, etc. say as the conspiracy crowd is to trust anything major news organizations or the government might say. Some people have a broader range of experience in the world than shut-ins, and are well aware of the dangers of radical Islam (or any radical religion). Notice I did not say Islam, but rather radical Islam, a term I use to denote those who falsely claim to act in Islam’s name. They do not.
Some people think that the very important mission of Zerohedge is diminished, and its credibility lessened, by the presence of the conspiracy crowd. Zerohedge is a financial website that occasionally strays into politics when these are related to finance and the economy. The Tylers are incredibly tolerant---of everything from endless conspiracies to bigotry and racism---but there are plenty of conspiracy sites on the Web that will welcome those of their ilk and offer unfettered reach arounds and happy endings to like minded individuals.
I take some solace in that even now the Truthers are a small minority on ZH. Vocal, but minor and fringe. I hope they do not pollute the otherwise important work of Zerohedge.

My Dad dropped into Germany in Operation Varsity in the first invasion of Germany in WWII. It was the largest airborne operation in history with mostly Brits, US, and Canadians. He was alongside the 101st and the British 6th Airborne.
He told me once that he thought the Brits were the toughest soldiers he saw and that the Americans weren't far behind. His outfit got slaughtered and he was one of the few lucky ones to survive. He was a forward artillary observer and was also the greatest man I ever met. I went to a reunion in 2005 with him at which Prince William attended and it didn't take long for the Prince to make a beeline for the guys standing around in the maroon berets.
He never got over having to kill fellow human beings and said that if the uniforms were off, the war was over. He also said that the first thing out the window in war, is the truth.

There has always been a concerted effort to ridicule 911 conspiracy theorists (Let's face it, some do deserve ridicule), yet that has been fought tooth and nail by highly respected and dedicated men and women for years. But that ridicule has now migrated from America and found root firmly in the public consciousness of many developed nations which were once sympathetic to the conspiracy idea.
I was watching what I thought was a documentary on 911 conspiracies on BBC3 last night, and it turned out to be anything but. Snappily titled, "911 Conspiracy Roadtrip", a comedian took a bunch of young British conspiracy theorists on a roadtrip of the 911 sites in America to meet those Americans who were personally affected on that fateful day to try to disabuse them of their "silly" and "inappropriate" theories. The lesson was, if you believe in a conspiracy theory about 911, you are a joke. I wasn't laughing. I don't know who commissioned such a horrible show, but the whole thing was sickening and itself totally inappropriate to the memory of those who lost their lives on that day.
Since nobody else mentioned it so far, the most concrete evidence that 911 was an inside job was uncovered by Chris Emery, an investigative journalist and executive producer of OTR films. He discovered that Mohammed Atta and his gang used US government issued credit cards to purchase drinks at a bar near their hotel, which incidentally was near the OKC military base. US Government employees are reserved unique sets of credit card numbers for accounting purposes, and Atta was using them to buy alcohol the day before 911. Chris Emery took photocopies of the receipts, including cards which were expired, yet mysteriously accepted by the CC Merchant machine. Those photocopies were published here: Calgary 9/11 Truth: The Last Nail In The Coffin Of The 9/11 Myth - Mohamed Atta in Oklahoma City September 2001 but that page no longer exists. Googling Chris Emery Credit Card 911 produced some second hand reports, but no originals. Please let me know if you find anything regarding this evidence - whether it is refuted or supported, I don't mind.
To date, I haven't seen any articles to refute Chris Emery's evidence, and as far as I know no further investigation into this matter has been conducted. That's the kind of world we live in.

Thanks, Killtown's 9/11 coincidences & oddities pages are still around, so that's something & USA Today 9/14/01 mentioned that the credit card receipts are in possession of the FBI. It's amazing that a story like this can be buried.

We need something cleared up here. Sibel Edmonds was a great American patriot. I use the past tense purposely, with the correct tinge of irony. An immigrant from Turkey, BUT of Iranian(Persian to be correct) extraction, Ms. Edmonds was unable to forgo voiding the intent of the oath she swore for gaining citizenship, and therefore fell afoul of her superiors. Due to some innate obstinacy of character, she subsequently refused to back down on her assertions of the bribery, blackmail and bullying of various players in the US power structure by Turkish military agents acting as surrogates for a well known small but hyper-aggressive Middle Eastern nation state. This is more admirable than mere words can describe.
HOWEVER
Sibel Edmonds is alive and living a fairly open existence in America, while blogging and pretending to be a living examplar of resistance to the precursor mode of police state fascist dictatorship that AMERIKA is morphing into daily. While her words as quoted above are literally "true" as spoken, what is truly 'true' is that Sibel Edmonds has and has had for some years the ability to "spill the beans" on the whole mess that has been festering and multiplying ever since Carter's Iranian Imbroglio...all of the dots....right through 9-11 to the multiple deaths of CIA asset Tim Osman. All the corruption and manipulation of American morals and values right through from Olly North to Mike Aquino to Darth Cheney and beyond. She is absolutely correct...she could tell us everything.
But she has chosen not to. This has nothing to do with the willingness of MSM or Washingtons' refusal to invite whistleblower revelations. This has everything to do with compromised whistleblowers, and the full spectrum dominance of ALL...repeat ALL opposition to TPTB.
Ellsberg himself was merely a low level conduit activated by the Secret Government in order to transmit a bunch of misinformation for reasons known only to themselves, in exact precursor mode to the "wikileaks" disinfo courier of today. The wilderness of mirrors has only gotten larger with time.

Yep ... TPTB don't fuck around! ... to coin a phrase. Those on the "inside" take a very serious blood oath -- on pain of death (among other unspeakable miseries) to not only themselves, but everyone they know and love. It's a very effective way of keeping a lid on things for a very long time.
Unless you're willing to do what the Hollywood character Verbal did and kill your entire family, the threat of harming loved ones is VERY effective in keeping a person's mouth shut.
I take away from your post two possible outcomes:
Your knowledge of the oath indicates "insider status", and you or some one very close to you are now dead.
Or,
Threats aren't that effective in keeping secrets.
