Although she's taking major flak in the MSM, M.I.A.'s gesture to America was the only "real and meaningful" thing that happened at halftime.

That Super Bowl had some really wierd Illuminati/NWO tones to it.

It was funny she came out as Nero.  Fitting considering our leaders in the American Empire are burning democracy like Nero in the Roman Empire burned dissadents.

These Super Bowl halftime shows remind me of an old Bugs Bunny/Daffy Duck cartoon where they are trying out for a talent agent and trying to one up each other. Their performances get more and more over the top until finally Daffy blows himself up, dying in the process. As his ghost is flying off into the air he says "It's a great act, the only problem is you can only do it once."

Madonna is 53 and her fitness is an inspiration to me (51).  No one works out harder than her and has the diet discipline she does.  The thigh bands of her stocking didn't pinch in even a millimeter.  If everyone had the discipline she does, the size of the health care industry would be half of what it is and the Federal Budget would be in surplus.  She is a goddess and inspires me.

All I saw was a psychopath.  Anyone at her age trying to stay fit and young for the express purpose of trying to stay relevent in an industry that does not care about relevence (just look at what's being pumped out) is a psychopath.

If she were trying to stay fit in order to do something useful, meaningful and relevent....like farming.....then ok, fine she's an inspiration.  But shaking your ass and lip-synching.......hey, if you want to exercise to music and sing along do it at the gym before you go milk the cows and plant a field.

The perfomances that Madonna was having was being a very fine accomplishments.  It was being choreographed in a way that was giving much credit to the skills people were having to make it be happening in the middle of a field where football is being played in only a few minutes.  Madonna is showing how being a people with self discipline can be making all peoples achieve more if they keep trying.  It is making me sad so many peoples are always seeing what they are wanting to be bad.  The physicals she was doing were making me impressed.  The hands of some of the peoples who were not catching footballs wee being like when Madonna was losing her balance.  Peples are not always able to be perfects.

Madonna Sucked. She was a warmed over version of all her previous shows. A farce that turned into comedy.

Her show is a great indicator of a market top. Who cares if a 53 yr old multimilionaire woman works out everyday? The show was lacking in anything original, it was pathetic.

"An inspiration to you"? Get the feck off of your (self admittedly) fat arse and get some exercise, rather than living vicariously through a sociopath.

I thought the Roman slaves pulling Madonna on a goldan throne was a very telling message for where we are today. I also thought there was a  militaristic theme with the  centurians. Your video last week featuring George Carlin was very appropriate.

watched the game.  didn't watch any commercials, though.  the breaks are 3, 4, or 5 thirty second spots (timeouts, post p.a., post kickoff) so i just put the t.v. on a black screen (the "line" button) and listen to elvis until the game comes back.  i watch the game with my son and the commercials are shocking:

Yeah but it was worth it just to have been able to answer my friend's 9 year old kid when she asked:   "Who's Madonna?"

Oh, she's just an old fashioned Lady Gaga...

Although it was tempting to answer instead:

Oh, she's the woman who popularized slattern chic when your mother was a teen-ager and the reason why you and all your friends dress like whores today while she lives like a princess and sends her kids to fancy schools.

I watched the free NFL stream of the game because we can't get over-the-air digital TV out here (Thanks FCC).

There are videos on YouTube that have better quality. They missed several key plays due to some kind of problem. Sections of the game were repeated and when it returned to real-time, the play was over. The sound kept dropping out and it got so blurry and blocky, you couldn't tell where the ball was at times.

They didn't run the commercials everybody else got to see so they repeated a small selection of lousy ads over and over. Also, they had back bench commentators babbling while everybody else got to see the Madonna half-time show.

I want the FCC abolished and Analog TV re-instated because it worked. Digital TV and internet streaming sucks.

I, too, had poor ATSC reception - using an indoor antenna. Once I realized I was living in something akin to a Faraday cage and moved the antenna outside the reception was wonderful. Every over-the-air station I got using NTSC came in beautifully. Plus I got some extra channels that the cable company doesn't carry. I won't spend money for HD cable so now I watch all the broadcast channels with the antenna. If you haven't tried using an outdoor antenna I suggest you try doing so. I used the one that came with the TV, a simple little thing.

Tried that. It doesn't work out here even with a beam antenna on a Tenna-Rotor. Analog TV came in great with a lot less capable antenna on the roof. We get great video quality with NetFlix so I thought the NFL stream would be pretty okay. It totally sucked on several levels.

Broadcast will always have the advantage of scalability over direct delivery.  If one person or a million are watching a program it costs the same amount to deliver (aside from stepping up to a larger transmitter to reach a wider area I suppose).  But for every incremental, say, internet viewer another X bps gets utilized from a finite capacity.

Mark Cuban is rich today because he figured that out sooner rather than later and divested himself of Broadcast.com equity as fast as he could.

TV in general seems to be getting worse and worse anyway.  I don't know about Sat TV but cable is almost all crap now.  Remember when the History, Science and Nature oriented channels used to have cool documentaries?  Now it's mostly reality shows about Bigfoot and crazy people that hoard cats.

I have to admit I watched this, I guess all-in-all GDP positive event. It's without any doubt the ultimate merger of USSA Corporatism, political propaganda and everything fake.

I'm well and truly disgusted by the fact that they did not pass on the opportunity to incorporate the occasional video streaming of "our troops in Afghanistan" in what is supposed to be a sporting event.

As to the athletes: FAKE! Long anabolic steroids and prescription drugs.
