Oh my, cops beating people up. Who would have thought such a thing could happen. Why aren't they out monitoring stop signs or radar guns so they can give out tickets and raise some money. Why not lobbying for lower DUI limits so they can arrest more people and make the lawyers, courts, and MADD more money. Maybe there was a day when police were looking out for the general public but it ain't now. Give them a baton and pepper spray and you'll see a smile. Not that the "protestors" aren't looking for this type of action. Not much news coverage for "peaceful protests". It's all theatre.

I was at the Wall St. protests yesterday afternoon for about 4 hrs and didn't see any violence at all. There were plenty of police, but all they did was occasionally ask people to move off the sidewalk or roadway so other traffic could get through.
I think it's very important not to cry wolf about this stuff.

I biked over to the Seattle protest at lunch time this past Tuesday. Interesting juxtaposition between that group and Gail Simmons who was leading a Target event announcing that they would be carrying fresh local produce. Target was giving away free food among anti-corporate chants.
The occupy Seattle crowd was for the most part unruly and disorganized and reminded me of the counterprotesting crowd (I shaved my balls for this?!) that opposed the tea party event I attended in 2009 at the same location. As I ate my sandwich and scanned the crowd I tried to pick out the people who had their brains engaged. I ended up talking to a nice gal named Michelle who I asked what do you want to see done. The first thing she said was "End the Fed" so we chatted for a while. She mentioned being in charge of doing research. I handed her a print out of a recent broad ZH article (most recent one from Quinn, with lots of good charts, talking points, etc.) She had not heard of ZH, but hopefully she'll surf on over and learn more.
She appeared to be in the minority unfortunately.
The Fascist will send in agents to try to sabatoge the movement and to keep their corrupt insider theft ring going . The FBI doen't work for the American people they work for their fascist masters just ead the released documents from the civil right era .

As much sympathy as I have toward the protesters, they are misguided. They demand more, they demand a 'fair share', they demand to receive what television has promised them over and over. They want their college/mortgage/pension 'investments' to be worth something. Instead everything is worth nothing.
This isn't the governments' and finances' fault. They have been working at handing out something for nothing for decades. The bag is now empty.

they aren't demanding "anything" they are demanding chages to the system that levels the playing field. why can banks, bankers borrow from the fed for nothing to buy assets when people can't get a break on their credit card rates, influence on dodd frank corrupting the best reform efforts in the bill, etc.

This demand can only be met by ending "Freetrade" by re-imposing trade tariffs on all imported goods entering the American market to level the playing field for domestic family farming and domestic manufacturing as most nations that are dumping cheap products onto the American market have radical wage and environmental regulation advantages.
