TRANSCRIPT:
_________________

Greetings, Institutions of the Media.

We are Anonymous.

The events transpiring within Wall Street have caught our eye.

It seems that the government and Federal agencies enjoy enforcing the law a little bit too much. They instate unjust laws as mindless automatons, blindly following orders with soulless precision.

We witness the Government enforcing the laws that punish the 99% while allowing the 1% to escape justice, unharmed, for their crimes against the people.

We have observed this same Government failing to enforce even the minimal legal restraints of Wall Street's abuses. This Government who has willingly ignored the greed at Wall Street has even bailed out the perpetrators that have caused our crisis.

We will not stand by and watch the system take over our way of life.

We the people shall stand against the government's inaction.

We the people will not be witnesses to your corruption and ill gotten profits.

We will not labor for your leisure.

We will not assist you in any way.

This is why we choose to declare our war against the New York Stock Exchange. We can no longer stay silent as the population is being exploited and forced to make sacrifices in the name of profit.

We will show the world that we are true to our word. On October 10th, NYSE shall be erased from the Internet. On October 10th, expect a day that will never, ever, be forgotten.

Vox Populi, Vox Anon.
The Voice of The People is The Voice of Anonymous.
We are Legion. We are the 99%.
We do not forgive. We do not forget.
Wall Street: Expect us.

... but it means little if NYSE is erased from the internet ... NYSE runs on private network!

Hey, that is scary looking - I'll bet their head guy is called the " Sand Spider ", because it sounds scary. Should have just done it, then claimed credit after the fact. If they are for real, take out the FED on the same day, please. Then, I'll publicly apologize for being the prick that I am, and sing their praises for real.

"We are legion"

The same thing the demons said to Jesus before they were cast out into a bunch of pigs and ran off the cliff.

What a bunch of fucktards.   Your solution to the problem is to empower the government to take more from the people. Hey dipshits... you picked the wrong fight. Why don't you invade Washington and demand that the government stop indiscriminately killing  American citizens? Why don't you march on Washington to force these ass wipes from keeping the citizens in this country in a constant state of fear? Why don't you demand that they stop feeling us up at the airports? How about forcing them to end the fed and go back to legitamite money? You all are nothing but a bunch of wastes and your true colors are starting to show.

Dr. E: I'm trying to watch what are the implications of what they, these 'bots, "Occupy Paducah", etc. are doing vs. are saying.

"Occupy Boston" has a kid orchestrating the gaggle, e.g.: as in this Boston Globe story, (so we know it is true) who works for a political organizing company DAPA Research . Wonder who is paying DAPA Research, a rather embedded local consultancy, situated within spitting distance of Bacon Hill.

"Wonder who is paying DAPA Research"

The real 'black ops' is DARPA's off-budget (Defense Advanced Reasearch Project Agency). Paid for with $500 'toilet seats' and $600 'hammers' and the list goes on. See if you can get a copy of the 2002 budget for DARPA, it's got to be around somewhere. I think that was the last budget with some eye-opening projects on the drawing board. Since then, DARPA has been a bit more circumspect in the info provided to CONgress.

0--nyet: ain't DARPA, it is a skoshi' community  organizing political organizing thingie that purports to organize the unorganized and has evidently "organized" the Boston thingie so they can march on Bacon Hill.

Of course, as a community organizing organization, I'd be nay surprised that YOU could become confused with that obscufation.

- Ned

{and, well, if you are worried about DARPA, don'tcha think that you might be, just a little, worried about "Congressional Oversight Responsibilities"?}

{{and, well, I endorse your handle of "ZERO"}}

More to the point, this site continues to effectively network Left and Right populists, as Jim Kunstler joins Rush Limbaugh as a ZH afficionado: http://kunstler.com/blog/2011/10/here-come-the-owsers.html#more

Do these guys take requests for things to be erased from the internet? I have many, many suggestions...

Yeah and if they could take down the Florida DMV website and erase all records...I'd be eternally grateful...but I'd need for this to happen before Oct 11 since I'm due in court.

If they could hack the system that might be credible but sounds like these guys are just script kiddies maybe with a couple thousand zombies from idiots who download trojans off of torrents.  i'll believe it when i see it.  NYSE is a beast.  They'll just firewall all incoming connections from retail ISPs and sick the FBI/INTERPOL all over these chumps.

You have no idea what a DDoS is.

I'll start with the acronym:

Distributed Denial of Service.

What it means is that they will flood the servers that run the NYSE WEBSITE (not the exchange) with so many requests for information that only a very small percentage of all requests will get replies.

A low level attack can be blocked with smart firewalling, but they're smart enough to know this. They're most likely not going to attack the webservers specifically, but the routers or load balancers that the webservers talk through. These routers are most likely capable of hundreds of terrabit, but they usually have weaknesses. Some get overloaded with high demand on a normally trivial protocol. Others have finite buffers or TTL's that they adhere to. Some of the best will require massive loads - of data that looks legitimate. Even firewalls can't block requests that look legitimate, and sorting through them still takes power. It doesn't really matter what the attack profile is, the aim of it is simply to overwhelm the target.

Imagine you're in a crowded room and you announce that you're going to answer every question asked of you. Now imagine that everyone continually asks different questions without taking turns. You will not be able to focus on any of the questions to answer them. That is a DDoS.

Everything has limits. No single host on the internet whether it's a multimillion dollar core router or an entire datacentre can handle an unlimited amount of data.

IF, and I suspect based on previous attacks, they do have enough computers around the world under their control, they will easily be able to throw enough traffic at the website to take it down - regardless of efforts to prevent it.

The website is a relatively soft target. This is nothing more than a show of strength. The internet equivalent of practicing naval execcises near your rival's coast.

It will get attention. It will agitate. It will demonstrate power, and strike fear, but it will not damage.

They are going to show the world that the financial system our leaders are so set on propping up can and will be crippled if they continue to ignore the people.

Now, that said, The major world exchanges and the tier 1 banks are likely to have their own physically separate secondary internetwork. These systems are too critical to depend on sharing the public internet. So commerce will not cease. It will be severely limited, but it will function.

ATM's talk to their banks via the internet, the banks talk to the tier 1 banks either over the internet or the secondary network, the tier 1 banks talk to the exchanges via the secondary network, the exchanges talk to eachother via the secondary network. Taking down this entire system will be nigh on impossible. It would require targetting every single bank that depends on the public internet. Even then, it doesn't take long in an emergency to create Virtual Private Networks or to lease physical lines. The system cannot be killed entirely but it can be removed from the public internet. Which is still a major psychological victory.

Interesting.   And they show some consideration for the people by doing this on Columbus Day, a banking and by and large, an off trading day.   It appears to be more a show of power.   Reminds one of "The Day the Earth Stood Still".    I think this may be behind their thinking, kind of a bow shot across our illegal governments ship of state.   Well,... nothing more to do but wait for Monday.   Interesting.

if they were going to do that...do it first and claim responsibility later.

and the part about 'soulless precision'...LOL..who the heck are they talking about. Our government couldn't find its own ass with a Grey's Anatomy For Dummies book.

Take them seriously. These boys already have their bot nets and plenty of 15 year old idiots standing by to add their parents machines and bandwidth to a relentless DDOS attack.

The issue I'm having is that I feel like these kids pulled a bait-and-switch.  At first they were unhappy with the private Federal Reserve Bank and they even demanded that Berbnank resign by a certain date, which has come and gone. Now they are telling us that the problem is the entire NYSE and all 3,000 companies trading on it; plus profits are now a bad thing?
