According to various reports, New York City Police have maced, brutalized and arrested peaceful Wall Street protesters.

The Wall Street Journal notes that 80 protesters were arrested.

I was at the protest yesterday, as I've been for 4 different occasions, and we were peaceful, the Police were abusive and disrespectful... and in some cases, violently aggressive. The cops who threw down the protesters, or the ass who maced / pepper sprayed the young women need to be brought up on civil charged and dismissed. They were under no threat and we were not antagonizing the police. They were attempting to cordon off the area and protesters were disagreeing with the intent. The women who were sprayed were anguishing about the rough arrest being perpetrated just beyond them. They also wanted to be reunited with the larger group, but the main reason for their original discomfort had to do with the aggressive arrests the police were performing at that moment.
As a reminder, the founding fathers disagreed with their leaders too. Some of you are such tools, it's amazing.

Protest starts among the fringe elements and as the economy gets worse and the looting of public coffers continues, it could go mainstream. It might be easy to bust up a gathering of a few hundred snot-nosed yoots, but this can easily get big. It takes a spark to light the fuse.
This might get big...in a while, if they keep at it.. Its quite possible that the area has to be locked down within a year or so.

What is really sad is that each and everyone (antagonists, protagonists, lobbyists, lawyers, bankers, federal employees, police, you and me) are all basically decent people doing what they either have been told, have learned or want to "discuss". Pretty much like animals around a muddying and drying up water hole, when there is an artesian well of clean water that can be found just a few yards away and 50 feet below the surface. The animals are wary in such a case, but don't slaughter each other, predator and prey, knowing that with water, they all die. The artesian well is not Fed "liqudiity injections" since this is electronic paper, not reality.
As a Native New Yorker, I would say most cops are dumber than a post, and are as useless as titties on a boy dog. Now I'm talking about the generic cop. The necessary, highly skilled swat teams, etc have their place and are needed. But the average cop patrolling the streets, does shit, and wants to do even less than that if they could. They are primarily used now in NYC as ticket givers, looking for the a cheap way to make the city money. The precinct commanders have been caught cooking the books to reduce the amount of crimes reported in their districts, so they don't get bad marks. Data is everything now, not reality-that's what three terms under Nazi Bloomberg is like.
But gooning up a bunch of rowdy white kids, mostly girls (easy work) they will do. BELIEVE ME, they wouldn't DARE pull that shit on a crowd of angry blacks or ghetto people. Well, the NYPD says that these protesters had not applied to NYC for the march permits. So, if that's the case, an this was an organized march or protest, I guess they have an argument for breaking it up.
HOWEVER, I'm on the side of these kids. SOMEONE has to start SOMEWHERE, cause no sleazy pol, including The President will ever attempt to prosecute the criminal elements on Wall St. Exactly what was the kid with the flag doing that earned him an arrest, while being nocked to the ground? No, they weren't brutalized, and they were screaming for no reason, but SO WHAT? Why were they arrested, for dissenting in public?
