New York Police Mace, Brutalize and Arrest Peaceful Wall Street Protesters
According to various reports, New York City Police have maced, brutalized and arrested peaceful Wall Street protesters.

There are also reports that the police have confiscated cameras and other reporting equipment, and arrested reporters.
The Wall Street Journal notes that 80 protesters were arrested.

A march of about 2,000 citizens marched peacefully demanding that the voice of the 99% be heard. This peaceful march called We Are the 99%, was done in solidarity with the #occupywallstreet movement. The movement is entering its second week
and is gaining momentum both locally and nationally. Many more rallies and escalating actions are planned for the coming week. The occupation will continue indefinitely.The NYPD attacked the crowd of peaceful protesters and conducted mass arrests of marchers near Union Square with orange netting, sweeping up Reports of some injuries.

I think you should consider the situation that the police are confronted with before you judge their actions as wrong. It doesn't take much for a crowd of leftists to turn violent. A policeman's number one job is to protect his pistol in a calamitous situation. Would you prefer the situation to turn needlessly violent because of a couple aggressive protesters? You cannot put your hand on a peace officer and not expect to get arrested as a result. Why don't you support the TeaParty efforts to deal with the bankers and corrupt politicians instead? We have held marches that have exceeded these idiots numbers by 500 times and have never caused the police any anxiety or left any garbage behind, too boot. Results are what counts in the end. Actually, they use the same police tactics everywhere. Kettling, pepper spray, tear gas, even water cannons in minor cases like in Stuttgart where two man were blinded because of a water cannon shot, many hurt. They had no problem to attack children. And I have seen this just everywhere - in Spain, UK.

Look at the mess that was left behind at the Lincoln Memorial and WWII Memorial after the One Nation rally last October, emceed by Ed Schultz from MSNBC.
First video the people that are already cordoned off get sprayed. In another video these people were just waliking by and the police grab them and push them in the direction they are already going. In another the policeman at a distance turns around and goes after the guy with no shirt then twists his arm and throws him to the ground, puts his knee on his throat and handcuffs him. Do they feel threatened? Protecting their gun. Littering in NYC? Is that a citation or cause for the use of force. Nonsense. It looks to me that they just don't like what they are saying or their attitude. I wish 100 people would surround these cops and show them the force that they exert on people. Bigger question is why are they cordoning off a protest? The only reason this isn't peaceful is because the cops are there.
