Polls: Americans Want Our Liberties Restored, Our Troops Brought Home and the Federal Reserve Reined In
Americans Hate the Federal Reserve
CNN notes:
“We are seeing a level of enthusiasm for Ron Paul that
can be compared with President Obama in 2008?, said Eric Brakey, Media
Coordinator for NYC Liberty HQ, the grassroots organization hosting the
rally for the candidate. “Congressman Paul’s youth support is different
now than it was during his last presidential campaign. It’s more
organized and it’s picking up steam and continues to grow”.
As the longtime congressman from Texas stepped onto the stage, the crowd screamed with enthusiasm. The audience’s biggest reaction came when he spoke about ending the Federal Reserve.
“The country has changed in the last four years, but my message hasn’t
changed” Paul said. “The country is ripe for a true revolution”.
At least 75% of the American people want a full audit of the Fed, and most were against reconfirming Bernanke.
Indeed, as Bloomberg noted last December:
A majority of Americans
are dissatisfied with the nation’s independent central bank, saying the
U.S. Federal Reserve should either be brought under tighter political
control or abolished outright, a poll shows.
***
Americans across the political spectrum say the Fed shouldn’t retain
its current structure of independence. Asked if the central bank should
be more accountable to Congress, left independent or abolished entirely,
39 percent said it should be held more accountable and 16 percent that
it should be abolished. Only 37 percent favor the status quo.
As I have extensively documented, the Fed is largely responsible for the economic crisis, and has failed to meet a single one of its stated mandates (and its implied ones as well).
Americans Are Sick and Tired of Never-Ending War
Ron Paul is also gaining popularity because he is against the
never-ending War On Terror, and wants to bring the troops home.
Americans are sick of the never-ending, ever-creeping war. See this, this and this.
Americans Want Our Liberties Back
Americans are also becoming less tolerant of the wholesale
destruction of our constitutional liberties in the name of fighting
terrorism. As Talking Points Memo writes:
On the eve of the ten year anniversary of 9/11, the Pew Research Center has released new data
on Americans’ reaction to the attacks, and the foreign and national
security policies pursued in the post 9/11 era. They show a country with
views that have evolved on the relationship between civil liberties
and the tools given to government to fight terrorism, and a disbelief
that the continuing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan helped to lessen the
chance there will be another terrorist attack on the United States.
The Pew survey showed a large shift in the number of Americans who
are willing to see some of their civil liberties go out the window in
the name of fighting terrorism. Directly after 9/11, Americans were
willing to make the deal, as 55 percent thought it was necessary,
against 35 percent who felt the opposite. Now, only 40 percent felt that giving up some civil liberties is necessary to curb terrorism, with 54 percent against.
***
“…only about a quarter say the wars in Iraq (26%) and Afghanistan
(25%) have lessened the chances of terrorist attacks in the United
States,” the Pew report reads. “In both cases majorities say the wars
either have increased the risk of terrorism in this country or made no
difference.”
Top American military leaders agree, saying that the war on terror has weakened our national security.
Hundreds of Millions of Americans Can’t Be Stopped
Of course, criticizing the Fed, wanting to end the wars, liking Ron Paul, or “taking
a cynical stance toward politics, mistrusting authority, endorsing
democratic practices, … and displaying an inquisitive, imaginative
outlook” can bring on heightened scrutiny or displeasure from the powers-that-be.
But given that the overwhelming majority of Americans fall in one or
more of these categories, they can’t harass hundreds of million of us.
Note: Instead of labeling the opinions described above as “conservative” or “liberal, please read this.

Just a reminder about how most of us feel. Let us build on our strengths and what unites us. There's a very powerful message in this story for all of us building lifeboats and seeking to live in a new relationship with the planet and each other. -- Michael C. Ruppert

Since when does a pole solve the problem? You or the pollster left out an important question; what percent want to END THE FED.? And, if they only wont the FED reigned in then they do not understand what it is and who it represents. Lets be perfectly clear on this Ben Bernanke is a Pig... (Hi Ben) and the Fed is the antithesis of democracy and free market capitalism.
Why do the American people stand by a CENTRAL BANK; the Federal Reserve? It is owned by the banks themselves charging us interest on every dollar in circulation. The Founding Fathers fought the revolution to free us from this model of DEBT SLAVERY ECONOMICS! Their clear intent, as set forth in the Constitution was; the nations currency is to be issued by the government with no interest attached? The governments issuance of currency is the very definition of sovereignty. They fully recognized this and to do otherwise was to relinquish our rights as a free people. Is it any wonder we find ourselves where we are today?
"One only needs to look into the foundation of the Federal Reserve to see what these men plotted to do. Without our current debt based money system, collectivism and World Wars would not be possible. This is the root of power and we must hack at it." - Chris Duane

As with the rest of GW's evidence, this is a very, very selective pull from the data. I went through the polls referenced, and found the following:
These aren't my opinions, just what shows up in the Pew Research. So just a word of warning when an ideologue gets hold of polling data and selects out what makes for a good storyline.
Ron Paul for president 2012
A vote for anyone else is a vote for another TBTF bailout
I didn't think most Americans know what the Fed is, what it does or how it works? Bernanke held a press conference to appear more opaque. I see this battle for the office of the Presidency at issue, there was a gradual erosion of Congress' power and more power to the executive branch during the Cold War, the American people were okay with that, even though it distrubed the established rule of 'checks and balances'. GW Bush made the last push in that regard, declaring himself the 'Unitary Decider'. That was probably the last of that, as the war on terror is hardly the Cold War, because nuclear missiles and guys with box cutters pose different threat levels, and different policy responses.
The civil liberties issues goes hand in hand with the Unitary Decider concept of President, as Bush used to force protestors into off site, protest zones. He built internment camps which sit empty at the ready, and he brought active duty Army units onto American soil to provide for domestic active duty, in violation of the Posse Commitatus Act.
Now Obama hasn't closed a single internment camp, or GITMO, or deactiviated armed troops inside Americas borders. He clearly feels this process of an enhanced Presidency can continue indefinitely,e ven though he was avoided using any of the tools that Bush gave him, which might be useful, like moving the war off budget, or perhaps using the 14th amendment to avoid a debt ceiling crisis.
The AMerican people would do a lot better if Obama would decertify the Patriot Act, close GITMO, and a few other things (largely symbolic), and yet he chooses to implement few if any of these changes. It makes you wonder two things, he is either a closet tyrant, just waiting for the moment to drop the hammer, (or to allow another terrorist attack)
Or he likes the idea of keeping the American people in a state of constant fear, which is how Bush ran the country, color coded terror alerts. The whole package, if you see something call the police.
Now Obama has less than 50% popularity, so what? Bush ran 45% the last five years, you can get elected anyhow, if you know where the diebold voting machines are stored overnight.
Obama is basically running on the fool me twice platform, but it wouldn't surprise me to see him pull a false flag attack, or a government shut down around election time. Rule by fear is the rule. Listen to the man scream at you.(He's not a populist hes' a tyrant)
And replacing him probably wouldn't do much good, the next guy would be worse. Until we give more power to Congress, we won't get rid of these insidious cancer on the American Presidency, and although Congress has superlow approval ratings, some of that has to do with the MSM, which is programmed to make COngress look bad, and the President to look good. (hint it's easier to buy one President thasn it is to buy several dozen Congressmen)
There are only two types of terrorists, those who betray the police state, and those who betray the People the state derives its power from. Those camps are nowhere near big enough to hold the 300mil people of the U.S., but they might be big enough to hold those oathbreakers
just sayin
I didn't think most Americans know what the Fed is, what it does or how it works?
Couldn't agree more. See my post above on the 'selectivity' of the polling data. People do not know what the Fed is, but if you ask anyone whether they'd like to see some central agency audited, they'll say "of course!"
View with a skeptical eye.
Americans by nature take a lot of shit. But there is ALWAYS a line in the sand.
Just because nobody sees the line does not mean it is not there.
The British did not see the line on April 19 and the Japanese did not see it on December 7. The line is there.
Now get out of the way, I can't see the commercials.
i just want the kids to get pulled out of that meat grinder...

"Americans Want Our Liberties Restored, Our Troops Brought Home and the Federal Reserve Reined In"
Don't you get it? It doesn't _matter_ what the few Americans who are actually paying attention and know what's going on want. It's what those who actually run the facade of democracy want. As a result, #1 will NEVER come back since, typically, once you're stupid enough to give up a liberty or right you are not going to get it back and this will only get worse when economic collapse _forces_ the end to #2, world empire, as it has with most former empires. #3 will never happen.
I see 37% of Americans are fucking idiot sheeple.
Your education system seems to be working fine.
And 62% are pure and simple....STUPID.
Thank goodness for the smart 1 %...
Good luck Ron P.
Look, a defeatist attitude will get you one thing for sure: defeat. Sure RP is a long shot because the TPTB would do almost anything to prevent him from winning. But is there a chance? Yes, there is. You better take that chance and run with it. Because, this is the last chance. We might be able to save something and not have to go into a new Dark Age.
RON PAUL 2012
or
DIE BITCHEZ!
I wonder if ANONYMOUS will use this information...easy to hack voting machine.
http://www.salon.com/news/2012_elections/index.html?story=/politics/elec...
People need legislation to get rid of trash voting machines. Back to hand count. Let's put it on ballot, no more fucking Diebold.
Hello fucking corrupt government, back to hand count or predict Ron Paul landslide...LOL
beer...smokes....TV...football....
.....do we need more?
The government heavily taxes your beer .... the government heavily taxes your smokes .... the tv news tells you the latest on DWTS, but not the truth behind 9/11 .... the NFL wants to grope your body, TSA style.
You need to wake up and smell the crap (unless you were just joking).
"Americans Want Our Liberties Restored, Our Troops Brought Home and the Federal Reserve Reined In"
Good Luck with that dream GW ...i give you a 1 in 14 Trillion chance of realising it, actually worse than a snowballs in Hell... Ron Paul will change everything? Another snowball chucked into the fires GW??
Only strategy for each of us to change anything is to use our own power because the voting system is designed to make you a needle in a heystack. The strategy is very easy, very effective: Stop Paying Your Taxes
Yes you can do your bit, which is all you can do, by simply refusing to pay your taxes which pays the wages of all the parasites that oppress you, stops your sponsorship of the war machine, pays the bills for the bailouts, funds the power apperatus that upholds and defends The Feds monopoly on money etc. Tell the IRS to F' Off, nobody asked your permission to take your money and you have zero plans this decade to do so
Zero Tax = Zero Govt
Govt : the Biggest Social & Economic Mistake of the Century
That could work...
but isnt the fed govt TBTF
what would we call that bailout?
GARP or fart
govt federal
asset asset
relief relief
program? trustfund
Govt : the Biggest Social & Economic Mistake of the Century
I suggest a revision:
Govt : the Biggest Social & Economic Mistake since the Ice Age.
Seriously.
CH1 - yes i defo' take your revision seriously ...i cannot fathom how far back Govt has intruded and strangled our social and economic freedom in society... Greece is the claimed birthplace of this dumb rotten monopoly Govt insittution (and how fitting they'll be the 1st to go Govt-led down the toilet? Ironic indeed, fitting certainly, funny pissingly so;)
..indeed the Greek philosphers (intelligent men for sure but idealists so very capable of being complete morons) pontifcated long and hard was 30 or 60 thousand the 'ultimate population' for a town to be 'governed'. Of course this was the wrong answer because it was the wrong question to start with!
Philosophists and idealists (like Ron Paul and Euro MEP Danial Hannan, both well-meaning idealists like the Greeks) don't understand practicality nor (what actually works in) reality. They cling to their dream like drowning men grasp at straws. Hannan and Paul are both still clinigng desperately to Govt, Paul wants it smaller, Hannan wants Govt power passed down to local level.
Like the Greek philosphers their dream would 'fit' and 'really, really work this time' if only we changed the size or shape of Govt. What they dont 'get' is Govt is the same rotten mechanism whatever size or shape it is. A screwdriver is the same tool whatever size it is, it can only screw. It cannot open a door like a key. So Hannans local Govt stinks of all the same corrupt dumb abuse of power and anti-social, anti-economic practices as an area State Govt, as a national Govt, as an international Govt. They're all the exact same institution with the exact same performance, screwing the people and the economy.
Why? Because what these dreamers don't get is Govt is a monopoly insititution (mechainsm). Govt hoards taking it from society and centralises power behind a Govt desk. Only the competition mechanism distributes power between provider and user (users have a choice/power to choose). Govt is a one single monopoly of authority in society and the eocnomy. Govt centralises power to little Hitlers behind Govt desks.
Only the competition mechnism provides constant progress, constant change, constant variety, constant cost cutting, constant quality improvements. Competition require better brains. Monopoly can be dumb as it likes, it does not have to compete to impress the people, so slack lazy slothful Govt is truly the most fuking dumb institution ever devised.
Only competition gives the people the choice (power/authority) to tell one supplier to fuk off and walk to another. Govt gives people no choice unless you call 1 day in 4 years a choice! 'Power to the People' on 1 day, 1,459 days powerless between elections! ...the free market gives people a choice 1460 days out of 1,460.
What's even more ironic (sad, sickly stupendous!) is both Paul and Hannan are free market idealists too!! Yet still both do not understand the free markets most powerful and beneficial mechanism: Competition. They want the free market but they want monopoly Govt authority in society too. If they understood even a shred of what they proposed they would understand the two cannot exist side-by-side. They are philosophical as well as mechanical enemies.
Freedom distributes power in society and in markets to one and all to do their productive best and impress each other. Govt monopolises power in society into one office and there all progress and vibrancy stops dead in its tracks. Why? Because the monopolists can do what the fuk they like. They have all the power, they do not need to answer to end users/people.
Govt provides 1 decision for society to swallow, like it or not. Freedom allows each of us to make our own policy decisions on every issue, it provides hudreds of choices. Freedom allows us to govern how we see fit, not how someone else thinks we should.
Monopolising power in society and in an institutiion is the very enemy of freedom in society. Freedom and competition dsitributes power to one and all. You cannot have it both. You're a retard to promote two completely apposed systems. One is freedom, the other (democratic Govt) is a shithole of minoirty group power hoarding parasites who just get Dumb & Dumber because the competition mechanism weeds out the stupid through natural selection by consumers.
Govt has no (uber slow) mechnisms to shovel out the shit people or the shit policies or the shit transport and healthcare systems.. They just stay in office an stink.. which funnily enough is precisely what Govt has done in every society in every decade its practiced.
Apologies for the looooong answer, i kick off easily! So yes, we should credit back to the Greeks for this shit show (at least!).. Govt : the Biggest Social & Economic Mistake in Mellenium then, agreed?
"NO" is the biggest word in the English Language.....
Today Football stadiums.....tomorow the shopping malls.
restoration not revolution
If the sleeping giant ever awakes you will see horror you cannot imagine-- don't wish for anarcy--wish for peaceful solutions--
I don't know.....given the fucking mess and loss of liberty organized govt has given us, I'm willing to try anarchy for a while.
Thoroughly agreed... and anarchy is NOT chaos.
Set free of orders from on high, most people behave quite well.
The flock seems to be getting restless. Perhaps there is hope for the American sheeple.
The flock is awakening. This time is different. Forget the naysayers. Their agenda is called withdrawal and apathy. That philosopy will keep the same old status quo in power. They'll do anything to discourage you from voting for Ron Paul. Hmmm kinda like the lamestream media's strategy. So beware that these shills may just be working for the staus quo...."Nothings gonna change....your vote won't matter....American's don't care....They are idiots...blah" This time IS different! Ron Paul 2012!
no, i don't think there is. take a look around you. take a long hard look around you and tell me what you see. the amerikan is lost in the century of self where his self is the only thing that matters. his self is the only thing that is his world. as it was designed so it has become. they are no longer useful human beings , but cardboard cutouts of a strange people that now exist here in this world, of 2011, a people that can be manipulated at ease, a people that the beatles sang about so long ago, vis a vis.....they are blind as they can be and just see what they want to see..........and so it is.........they deserve what is coming. what else can be said? any patriot out there that is willing to step up, i ask you what for? for them? i wonder what it was like in 1775. surely it was different. maybe not. maybe revolutions happen because they are designed to happen. maybe it all was one big lie and we bought into it. sheep are sheep. were the sheep then any different than they are now? in politics, why does it seem that the proverbial cream never seems to rise to the top? maybe the churches were right so long ago when they said to stay away from it for it is dirty and evil and of this world. maybe there is a lot of truth and wisdom in that belief. i remember as a kid hearing such things in the houses of worship. stay away from it they would say. they are going to do what they are going to do. and so it seems. as george carlin stated one time, we don't have a choice. no not really. they just make it seem like we have a choice. we are slaves and they are the owners. sometimes i watch a show on television about Christianity in prison. i can tell you that there are men who are in prison that are more free than many amerikans. but i speak in spiritual terms. maybe we can never really have the kind of freedom i want , at least not in this world. not in the physical body. when i first woke up i thought it was possible. but after years in the trenches i am beginning to see the darkness that is all around us. and i am beginning to realize as the verse in the Book of Revelations speaks about ....something along the lines of .......and they wondered at the beast and its powers. who can stand against him? and so it was and so it is.......
HPD,
Read the Massachusetts Constitution
Might give you a little hope. Just the preamble and the first part. Article V kicks ass. Now I just need to make it stick in court
Keep it dry
wondered at the beast and its powers. who can stand against him?...
The definition of a beast indicates it as a creature. If logic is worth anything, a creature necessitates the being of a creator.
The answer to this question is obviously its creator.
When the dust settles those in the fray will likely look up to see the answers theologians have been providing for millennia.
Restoration is a singular / personal event with societal ramifications and involves 5 simple steps.
Repent. Quit charging down the path leading over the cliff. This is the action of the human.
Remit. This is a divine action of paying off the debts incurred while charging down the path leading over the cliff.
Restitution. This is a human activity performed by a person in thankfulness who recognizes the value of the divine remittance attributed to his/her account for having redirected his/her course of heading over the cliff.
Reconciliation. This is also known as the reason for being here in the first place.
Restoration. This is what's to be expected at the end of the long enough time line when our survival rate has reached zero.
Seek Justice, Love Mercy.
imo.
HPD, well said...hang in then brother/sister...I don't know your gender thus the brother/sister. I have been focusing more on the spirtual lately..the gospel does not offend me, many organized americanized christianity denominations do, but not the gospel.
The darkness is truely all around us and it takes on many forms.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.
- Samuel Adams.
August 1, 1776.
wonder how many who drink the beer with his name on it ever read that quote?
is it on the bottle?
Well said.
+1
Headline could read: Why the establishment will never work with ron paul. I will also note, had Obama followed these three things instead of following Bush's adgenda he'd be reelected in a hert beat. In fact it's the platform I thought he had when I voted for him.
Obama didn't follow Bush's agenda. He followed the directions from the same people Bush followed who were the same people Clinton followed. Our Country has been captured and Ron Paul gives us an opportunity to take it back.
The Obama/Bush conversations are a waste of your time. Really.
It is the individual versus the state, and it always has been. All else is obfuscation and diversion.
We're going to need a bigger rope.
Lol
The rope won't be a problem. I fear we may run out of trees and lamp posts.
Exhaust military resources, flood borders to dissolve national identities, creep in global taxes and regulations, dumb down education, encourage debt, break up family unit, destract with propaganda and entertainment.....looks like we are nearing mission accomplished.
Let's see if we have enough wisdom left to listen to Paul.

You understand that a distracted populace is nothing new.
I remember an episode of Donohue in the eighties where Phil commented that when they ran topical political or social shows viewership dropped. But when they ran crap, modeling diet so on, it rose.
Back then it was OUR generation that wasn't interested.
WE passed that along to our children.
We is the fucking enemy and cause of all present evil.
Pandering by the media isn't a generational issue. The media has consiously dismantled its hard news assets. It has fired investigative reporters, closed foreign offices and turned to short simple stories that can be dropped into any newscast/website any time. Topical stories with no dateline so they can be reused year after year. Low cost news, high revenue = more profit.
The problem is they are supposed to be news outfits, not gossip and insipid pop culture fountains. The FCC has allowed this trend by allowing corporations to own media in any and all markets without restrictions. The justice department has allowed the concentration of media into 5 corporations, despite it being an anti-trust issue. There is no competition for eyeballs, just the same 5 companies putting out the same lame fluff.
I think we are once again ripe for an alternative news outlet or two or three. The wall street protest press blackout is an example of the obvious media control by ignoring real live news and instead presenting canned content to assure the masses that all is well in the artificial universe the government/media have created.
Anyone who has watched the news of our economic collapse has seen the daily denial by the media as they keep selling us a recovery that doesn't exist.
Who you gonna beleive, us or your own eyes?
I still watch the news, It may be yesterdays news tommorow, but how else am I going to find out about the 2nd and 3rd place polititions in the polls? I love it when they hold out second to be first by sayin " and politition x beat politition y by 14%" and then " in local news...."
Its a given they wont promote best candidate for the people, that would decrease their influence in washington.....duh
Re Americans Want Our Liberties Restored, Our Troops Brought Home and the Federal Reserve Reined In
What Americans want - and what Americans will get are two completely different things.
The time to protest was before the wars, the Fed machinations, loss of liberties etc metastatised into the raison d'etre for the State. I certainly don't remember too many protesting the Fed during the serial dot-com & real-estate bubbles. And as far as I remember most were gung-ho when Iraq & Afghan. were first taken out to the woodshed. Also there wasnt too much protest at the surveillence - as it was only to catch terr'ists.
Well my friends, the tables have turned - and its now time to pay the piper... or else face the consequences. Either way, there's a loada hurt coming to a theater-near-you real soon.
