Proof The January Jobs Number Was Real
Not convinced NFP was +243,000 in January? Fret no more folks, proof has surfaced.
Jobs are in fact being created - Unions are paying protesters, and not only for occupy wall street demonstrations.
The gentleman in the following video confirms that the AFL-CIO is paying protesters $60 dollars a head to gather together and pretend to care about the cause. Well, at least there's one organization not letting cash build up on their balance sheet.
Will this be added to their unemployment taxes?

When the employees of the University of California went on strike hundreds of picketers ringed the campuses. They were hired by the union to walk in circles and chant for several days. They did not look familiar. None of the staff recognized them. Due to a few arrests it was revealed that they were hired by the unions and that many of them were illegal aliens. So much for collective bargaining.
That's it...stay mad at the monkey. Stay mad at the monkey!!

I've been unable to view video links for the last few weeks, both in Firefox and in IE. I'm in the UK.
Is there a block, or is there a setting that I need to change in order to view them?
Thanks.

Curiously.......why were unions so in bed with Clinton when afterall Clinton is the one that voted in NAFTA??? They did protest NAFTA but they also claimed Clinton to be a great friend. I can imagine those at the top envision millions of low wage unionists having to pay dues. There just as corrupt as the corporations.
Someone mentioned sheetmetal workers, in my neck of the woods these guys are severely overpaid @ $42hr and have a $15hr benefit package on top of it. There's not much work going on so their at 30% unemployment and find it hard to compete. However the economy is so bad that the non-union counterparts who make around $20hr and have to pay their own benefits don't have much work either. In fact I know a nonunion shop owner that told me he's never seen anything this bad and for this long and his daughter who is the secretary started crying when he said he may have to go out of business.
It appears the majority of the work the unions are getting right now is government work, at the state and federal level. So you know what that means........tax the hell out of the 95% that aren't making 100k a year to swing a hammer which kills the deficit and us. Not to mention because of prevailing wage laws nonunion counterparts can't offer any better a bid on federal jobs because they have to pay the same as a union contractor.
Unions add expenses in all kinds of ways. Take for instance they are in bed with some hospitals that hire them for stuff their maintenance guys aren't that knowledgeable in. Some of them keep them on site. The hospital comes up with all these little projects that take maybe a day or 2 to complete, cost the contractor a couple grand and they in turn bill the hospital $10k minimum. Over and over again.
I want both corporations and the unions nutsacks cutoff. The only real solution is corporates out of politics and no unions. Ha ha. Good luck with that.
No democrap should have touched NAFTA with a ten foot pole. The Unions Have to have a friend in Government and it sure ain't going to be the repubicans.
I don't have a problem with the idea of a union where the workers keep themselves from getting screwed over. The problem is they have gone too far with getting binding laws passed to favor them and counter productive regulation within the workplace. When you need a union's influence, you know it. When you have too much union influence, you know it. We have too much.
In the end, democrats vote for democrats. Period.
Whereas Repugnicants vote for...Perot?!
I appreciate the knee jerk snark. Wonderful.
My response was to the question noted above, why were unions in bed with clinton despite clinton fucking them over.
Democrats will vote for democrats. period. That's why.
On the other hand, republicans WILL vote for other people, much to their own detriment (or is that detritus). Perot is one example, McCain is another and Paul is another. OK, so, you're not a republican as I'm sure most of the folks here will state. But, the reality of the situation is that if you think Obama needs to be voted out (If you believe that it even matters) then you have to believe that the only way to do that is to vote for whichever clown they give us a republican. If the red team vote is split AT ALL, Obama wins. Why you ask? Because it doesn't matter if Obama is raping children and killing people on TV every night, Democrats will vote for him, period. Republicans, for what it's worth, have proven they will vote for someone else.
I esp hate public unions. Why? Because this is one group that absolutely refuses economic reality and refuses to join the depression. People in the 'real world' are hurting. Do you think they care? They don't want to end up poor either so they keep sending those ridiculous tax bills out by the truckloads. They have the power to keep what they have because of this and are able to enforce it. Don't want to pay? Ok, we'll just sell your house and you can make immediate plans to move to tent city. These bastards need to go pronto and public unions need to be outlawed. Forever. The public unions are hurting with fewer and less tax receipts and when you drive thru town you can see business that have closed and foreclosure notices everywhere and lofty tax rates are part of the problem. I thought id have it made getting my house paid off but now I have to pay what is a rent payment in some cities in the form of property tax. For example.....we live in the country on a gravel road and have a full time road grator guy that goes by our house EVERY DAY. I appreciate good roads but that is an example of excess. To top it off the guys an asshole and won't ever wave to anyone. Yep, Mr. $25hr roadgrator guy is the only person in the county capable of running such an ingenious machine. lmao.
fox news link.. ok...yeah that isn't bullshit at all
next story will reveal acorn is paying unemployed Greeks to lob molotovs and unemployed Mongolians to create fake fossils
I love how people rationalize reality to fit their idea of reality. The whole thing is staged by Fox News Balefulofshit?
What whole thing? He linked to a story claiming acorn is helping to run OWS. The Fox story claims from unnamed sources that acorn was paying homeless people to go to zucotti. Fact is , this is prima facie absurd. The homeless at the park were a)disruptive to the people there b)often out of their gourds. The fucking NYPD were directing them to the park , in actuality.
Keep sitting on your fat ass and being programmed.
So we know unions don't have enough people in their own ranks to demonstrate for causes the union chiefs believe in.
And we know when you see a demonstration - at least a "progressive" demonstration - that many of the "demonstrators" are shills = paid by the house. So there are probably not that many people that care about the issue.
We don't know if the union withheld fica, state, or federal taxes.
We don't know if conservative groups pay their demonstrators.
Food for thought for conservatives like me who grew up hating unions.
There is nothing incompatable between prosperity in a capitalist society and unionism, as evidenced by US prosperity during times of high union activity and lack of prosperity during the recent times as union power waned.
HOWEVER, returning to the time of high union membership won't make your country strong when your country is corrupt.
When your Congress is bought and owned by corporate lobbyists, and your corporations are run by overpaid carpetbaggers, and the banks are looting the Treasury, and every other institution is out for themselves, it defies logic to expect the union leaders to be anything other than a reflection of our utterly corrupt society.
The unions threw in with the Democrats, so they understandably are resented by the Republicans, but if the unions jumped ship for the Republicans, does anyone think it would make even a small difference in the health of US companies? Are the unions the reason the country is dying.
Union corruption is just a symptom of the corruption of our whole society. Focusing on the unions takes our eye off the ball, the Fed has to go.
Here is some dessert for that food for thought. Unions contribute to democrats 99% compared to republicans. Its not like wall street bankers who throw their $ to whom ever they think is going to win. Unions are a political arm of the democrat party because they organize for the causes that the left believes in. If you ever listen to some of the forums that unions leaders hold you will come to the same conclusion. Gerry Hudson who was vp of the seiu at the time he said this is that unions are a platform that launches into other movements that lead them to the social and economic justice that he was seeking. as we all know social and economic justice is liberal speak for socialism/communism. bob channin who was the lead councel for the NEA said that the NEA is not about better schools, or for improving the childrens educattion. for them it is about power to push for their agenda because they collect union dues from millions of members. Why do you think when ever there is a political whatever that there is always some form or another of afl-cio/seiu/uaw/teachers unions there protesting. particularly during the gay marriage debate or the anti-war protesters. union members get such great benefits over their private sector counterparts that it takes government involvement to secure the contracts to secure a built in voting base. Christopher hayes of the NATION spoke about this very thing of organizing the homeless. You didn't think the stimulus bill was actually for roads and bridges did you? It went to the states to shore up their budget deficits to keep the teachers/cops/and various other union members employed so they will be sure to vote for the ones who butter their bread. and they use the taxpayers' ass to spread that buter. republicans believe in private sector work which is why they will never get or want union backing. Just what do you think "workers of the world unite" is and which party is always talking about the worker. i do agree however that all speacial interest money get out of politics. let whoever is a citizen donate however much they want it just has to be tracked.
Where does Union corruption stand on a scale that includes the Fed, Banks, Wall Street, Government, Madoff's, etc.
Can a woman be a "little bit" pregnant?
You are correct. If they joined the Republican cause the result would be the same. Productive manufacturing in the United States was destroyed by design using FedGov regulations, including OSHA, EPA, Affirmative Action, on and on. Unions were and are only a small piece of that in the private sector. However, in the corrupt govenment, they are hand in glove in robbing the Treasury with the banksters. A govenment union negotiating with itself is pure corruption. They buy the polititan in the election for peanuts, then get the reward at the bargaining table. See Kalifornia. Here in Kentucky, a school teacher gets free medical care for life upon retirement. A retired military person pays for health care. One has a union, one does not [by law].
The faster the destruction, the faster whatever they have in mind for us will come. Be sure it won't be anything anyone who is in the spirit of ZH would want. Unless you think the East Bloc Soviet client nations were a good thing and we need to bring that lifestyle here. Nothing like it! You never had to worry about health care - unless you wanted some. You didn't have to worry about the price of gas - if you had a car, you couldn't afford to drive it anyway. So many consumer decisions - all gone! Poof! Get a job? Non issue, report to government - you will have a job, comrade, or starve to death. It's a non-choice.
You're claiming requirements for worker safety and hiring the occasional person who fails to pass the paper bag test were a bigger detriment to American industry than leveraged buyouts and outsourcing?
Fucking retarded clownboy.
"union corruption." haha, that's a good one. the problem we have in the USA is the COLLAPSE of PRIVATE unions--while on the other hand the soaring value of PUBLIC ones. that means taxes without the requisite increase in productivity to sustain the "super states" that now constitute our union. public unions at the Federal level should be banned--entities like the Postal Service should be privatized immediately, DHS should be completely eliminated and social spending save SSI should be devolved to the States such that they can determine "what is affordable" since the individual states don't have the ability to print money and "extend and pretend."
why do you think the NLRB threw a shitfit when boeing wanted to move to a right to work state where the people who pay union dues get to opt out of paying dues or get to decide where the money goes. has nothing to do with worker condtions. Like andy stern of the seiu said a few years back is that the unions will use the power of persuassion and if that doesn't work we'll use the persuassion of power. Its all about the money and power bitchezzzzz.
imagine what it would be like if States could print their own money !!! actually, when we look at the total the Fed is printing would it really make a difference. It appears we are doomed. Maybe a revolution when the private sector has to pay unbelievable taxes to keep the public sector retires happy with their cost of living adjusted pensions.

The word "union" is becoming exclusely public sector only, throughout the world. Just one more monopoly.
He said he was union, unemployed. They are from the LOCAL meaning Sheet Metal Workers Union Local. They have people, just these people are not working.
As for conservative groups, well, I went to a few tax protests, missed work in fact, and people online told me I was being paid by the Koch bros. I sent them a email asking for my money, no reply.
They only cut you a check, if people give a shit what you say.
"... no reply."
heh
Makes you misty for the good old days when politicians could cut out the middle man and simply give you money for your vote.
Like earned income credit, free cellphone and minutes, SNAP card, housing, free medical care, methadone clinics? Like that? I think it was much cheaper back in the day, even given inflation. The average vote buy could get a sandwich and a couple of beers, not exactly a way of life. Remember, the $60 is chump change, it's the FedGov give out that is huge.
No, more like differential taxation based on the source of your income.
yes, this is just their apprenticeship until they get on the gravy train
Yeah, because all the things are run through or for the benefit of crony supporters, e.g. SNAP via JPM, etc.
California Unemployment comes in the form of a Bank of America debit card. Fees for everything and you cant even get cash at a BofA branch! You have to pay $4 to get your money at an ATM.
Pointless article...
Ok I don't get what this was about, a major national labor union paid known unemployed local people, on an official list of some kind, to show up as 'protesters' .. ok, got that.
But to protest what?
Are you saying this is part of an electoral ploy?
An attempt to make it look like new jobs were being created?
That Obama is supporting Labor and vice-versa?
What was the point of this?
Seems a waste of Union money if there was no money to be gained by doing it, so what were they after?
Is there a story here?
The "local" which means the local branch of the "Sheet Metal Workers" that is part of the American Federation of Labor - Congress of Industrial Organizations [The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) is a voluntary federation of 57 national and international labor unions. The AFL-CIO was created in 1955 by the merger of the AFL and the CIO.]
The "list" is the list of union members who are not employed. Nothing sinister here, unless you wonder how someone on a local level thinks it would be a good idea to spend members dues on protesting a conservative gathering. Logic tells me the local is not paying, and had no such idea. More likely is that the local was asked to produce X number of protesters wearing union shirts / hats etc for Y number of dollars, of which $60 is a fraction of what they were paid. From the looks of it, they met at the union hall, were given those chinese running dog roadside shitting citizeim tshirts and hats and bussed to the scene. Did you notice they were being herded, and one older guy came back for Jose, but turned around when he saw the mike/camera.
It's called rent a mob. The point is, if you are the left, unless you want numbers of three or four wack jobs, generally old mentally damaged from drugs hippies, you got to pay to get people on the street protesting. I can bet the demostrators will be on TV, but the thousands of people who came out in tea party groups, unpaid, well, they are not important.
It is just another way to herd the sheep. Follow the groups of Judas goats. When the time is right, the brown shirts will be executed in the middle of the night. Once the elite have what they want, they discard the tools.
Rent-a-Protestor "shock horror"
You ought to see the Rent-a-Politician sham we call "democracy'
Let's just say that 243,000 is correct.
Let's hear from everyone's favorite douchebag economist Paul Krugman and get his take. This is from 2 years ago !!!!!
"But let’s set a more modest goal: return to more or less full employment in 5 years –which means seven lean years of depressed employment. To keep up with population growth over those 7 years, the United States would have had to add 84 times 127,000 or 10.668 million jobs. (If that sounds high, bear in mind that we added more than 20 million jobs over the 8 Clinton years). Add in the need to make up lost ground, and we’re at around 18 million jobs over the next five years — or 300,000 a month.
So that’s a useful benchmark. Even if we add 300,000 jobs a month, we’re looking at a prolonged period of suffering — a huge cost from the Great Recession. So that’s kind of a minimal definition of success. Anything less than that, and it’s bad news. It sort of puts that wonderful report that we only lost 11,000 jobs in perspective, doesn’t it?"
243,000.....HOORAY, the recession is over !!!!! We're just going to be in this "recessed" pit for a decade or more.
Mcjobs. No growth at all. It's horse shit.
These numbers will be revised down as they have been every month since the recovery summer of 2010.
you can prove anything with numbers...comrades
I guess there are so many people out of work that for a few bucks, they'll pretend to support just about anything.
In fact, here's a video of a guy in South Florida admitting to being paid to hold up a Mitt Romney sign. And the irony...he barely speaks English.
Romney Supporters Paid to be Romney Supporters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFczAKYHRM8
So. They pay peope for everything else like writing these types of "articles." It's like Don Corloene said in the Godfather, "Mind you, I don;t care what a man does for a living so long as his business doesn't interfier with mine." So from you post we can tell that the union initiative interfiers with your business whatever that is.
Nice grammar and spelling. It really helps your point.
The phrase "Nice grammer and spelling." is not a complete sentance. That sort of ruins the effect of your snark.
Well, it is a good thing I could, at least, spell "grammar" correctly...
Who cares? You responded with a fragment and an awkwardly worded sentence in the wrong tense. Pot, meet kettle, and welcome to the internet; it has its own language.
