Protesters Target Federal Reserve

Protesters Target Fed, As Well As Wall Street

The protesters are not just targeting Wall Street and the big banks. They’re also railing against the Federal Reserve:

 Protesters Target Federal Reserve

(See this for the background of this image by WilliamBanzai7.)

Indeed, at the “Occupy Boston” protest outside the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, protesters yelled their derision for the Fed:

Criticism of Fed One of Protester’s Core Platforms

Indeed, as David DeGraw points out, criticism of the Fed is one of the main motivations driving Anonymous to help organize the protests:

On Mar 12, 2011, Anonymous A99 announced their first
operation by posting a video to the AmpedStatus YouTube page. The
effort was called “Operation Empire State Rebellion” (#OpESR). The
video “OpESR Communication #1” stated the following:

“We are a decentralized non-violent resistance movement, which
seeks to restore the rule of law and fight back against the organized
criminal class.

One-tenth of one percent of the population has consolidated wealth in
unprecedented fashion and launched an all-out economic war against
99.9% of the population.

We are not affiliated with either wing of the two-party oligarchy. We
seek an end to the corrupted two-party system by ending the campaign
finance and lobbying racket.

Above all, we aim to break up the global
banking cartel centered at the Federal Reserve, International Monetary
Fund, Bank of International Settlement and World Bank.

We demand that the primary dealers within
the Federal Reserve banking system be broken up and held accountable
for rigging markets and destroying the global economy, effective
immediately.

As a first sign of good faith, we demand Ben Bernanke step down as Federal Reserve chairman.

Until our demands are met and a rule of
law is restored, we will engage in a relentless campaign of
non-violent, peaceful, civil disobedience.”

Objectively – and without using any hyperbole – it is true that the Federal Reserve is largely responsible for destroying the economy. Indeed, many current and former high-level Fed officials and other top economic officials have slammed the Fed as well.

I don't know if he was a homosexual and don't care.

Whether the pneumonia was a complication of AIDS, cyctic fibrosis, etc...is beside the point for me.

The candidate could have made health insurance available to his campaign employees.  He didn't.

He could have treated him for "free."  He didn't.

He could have gotten him into one of those "charity hospitals."  He didn't.

If this is the result of his neo-libertarian pipe-dream reality where he is directly in control...be afraid, very afraid.

hey man, point taken. but really , on any insurance coverage, they are real sticky on preexisting conditions. its in the small print. they did what they could for him and it cost someone 400,000 dollars. what else could ron paul do?  he can't give him donation money because as old ron says, that is for conservative causes, doncha know.........

How could Ron Paul have treated him for free? He's an obstetrician, not a lung specialist. And how could he have given him 'free' health insurance, if no insurer would cover him because his pre-existing conditions?

Furthermore, you make it sound as if he would have lived if only he'd been treated. He was treated - and he died anyway. The difference was, if he'd had health insurance, he/his family would not be footing the bill, everyone else would be.

There's no such thing as 'free' treatment, chum - someone has to pay for it. OK, you like the moral hazard collectivisation brings, we get it. Most of us here, however, don't. And looking around at our country's parlous fiscal state, the economy doesn't like it very much either.

Morons.

A campaign that has employees can provide health insurance for free it it chooses to by paying all the premium or self-insure its employees.

Ron Paul is still a MD.  OB-GYN is a specialty.  He could have treated him or assisted. He didn't.

Ron Paul could have gotten him into a charity hospital with his vast connections.  He didn't.

Ron Paul who is a millionaire could have paid for the care himself as a chaitable act on behalf of a loyal friend who raised 19M for his campaign.  He didn't.

Yep, somebody is always going to pay. So, who do you think is going to pay the $400K?

When it comes to health care, you can 'collectivize' on the front end, or you will end up doing it on the back end.

So pneumonia effects a persons brain even before he contracts it? Did the hospital refuse to treat him? No. He chose to leave the doctors bill to his heirs. His lack of health insurance is no ones fault but his own.

And again, I'm not an RP supporter.

If he was my brother...yes.

Bloods thicker than water ya know...but I don't think either one of them would walk around with a pre-existing condition (outside of being related to me of course...lol) and have no insurance for themselves or their family.

400G , you're on your own, man.

Its about time you Yanks got protesting - the way the banksters have been able to strut around when you american guys have easy access to uzi's is ridiculous.

Also what you need to complain about is your health insurance.

the way they don't cover pre-existing problems is just unfair.

in australia when you join a health fund you have a 12 month wait for ANYTHING and then you are covered. no fucking you over later when they go through the medical notes with a fine toothcomb, also the doctor can write a letter of support so they have to pay up.

the government here make the funds comply to this and they still make juicy profits and people are happy.  you need to write to your senator....or join that protest

:p

Well, there's a lot of issues with health insurance. And I'm not here to distract from the topic but something needed to be said about RP not providing health insurance. It was ridiculous.

Doctors order a lot of uneeded tests to have laying around the office as evidence in case they are sued for malpractice. Thats part of it.

Another part of it is us...generally.

We run to the doctor at the slightest sniffle...we really need to understand this also drives up costs. Its like the world is a bunch of hyperchondriacs convinced they are going to die...tomorrow...or something, unless we have access to a doctor at rock bottom prices. Prolly just me as a person though...I did let a motorcycle injury (a burn) go to the point of almost gangrenous one time before I decided I better go in...lol. I paid cash, to the hospital, on the installment plan back then by the way.

And yes, I believe pre-existing should be covered fairly as its a pool of all the insured. Provided its not the "my house is on fire so I need insurance right now" scenario. If a person has had insurance before and switches companies or jobs it shouldn't effect their rate because they devloped an illness in the interim. Thats cherry picking BS.

The largest driver seems to be those in the government system we have here now, so it doesn't make sense for more government health care insurance by mandate/fiat...good doctors are dropping out of that program now because of the hassle.

I dunno, its not my area of expertise but as a general rule I try to keep government mandates about my bedroom, lifestyle, spending, reading, etc. as far away as possible. Less is sometimes more.

As far as Uzi's...they're only a glorified 9mm pistol, with a .45 or .06 you only need one round.

;-)

i have intimate knowledge of the uk's socialised medicine and australia's private/public system.

the uk's socialised medicine is an unworkable mess which is bankrupting the country and is such a political football spending for it is ringfenced.  it imports many 3rd world doctors from countries where they are desperately needed and health tourists come for its generally poor for -a-1st-world country care. brits are led to believe its fantastic and react with disbelief when figures show many 3rd world countries have better care.

in austrlaia (i may b shot at here) there is a dual set up where private health is heavily subsidised (the gov pay 30% of your fund costs ) and if you have a job you lose out if you're not in a fund with a tax levy of 1% of income.

this funds a good standard public system where the private hospitals take a lot of heat off the busy public system. the doctors stay interested because public work aids to more private work.

it has its problems but its SUSTAINABLE.  otherwise it plainly isn't.

another thing is 80% of someones total healthcare costs are in their last 3 months of life...we need to b better at letting go.... .

Thats what I understand about the UK's system as well. A bankrupt basket case.

It was held up over & over during our debate here in US as some sort of pristine...the rest of the industrialized world has "free healthcare" so why can't we... panacea. The damnable lies that were told is appalling. In my estimation it begins to be an Orwellian thing when government starts putting its own price on human lives. Which is what this always devolves into.

"in austrlaia (i may b shot at here) there is a dual set up where private health is heavily subsidised (the gov pay 30% of your fund costs ) and if you have a job you lose out if you're not in a fund with a tax levy of 1% of income."

Not by me old friend ;-)

But we have to understand "the government" isn't subsidizing it really...someone who actually pays taxes is. Unless you have the Aussie version of the Ben Bernank down there...lol...which carries its own inflation problems with the price of milk & bread for everyone else at the end of it.

I just don't understand the concept that Big Brother has to be involved in so many ways in every aspect of our lives. All it does is act as a middle man for the source of funds (us) and is a known squanderer of wealth & prosperity.

You either accept individual responsibility, or end up with .gov stooges wasting all of our resources.  It is sad but true that bad things happen--even to good people.  That's a poor argument for big government.
