Maybe.

Here, we have paper ballots that can be counted by hand if its close, which it won't be by all appearances. Mine won't count in a winner take all state but it sends a message to the party bosses.

I'll be voting Paul...this time.

Great stuff WB7. So since Mitt Zombie is a robot, does this mean the usual zombie protocol of: 1) Avoidance, 2) Termination, and 3) Disposal, doesn't apply?

Shepard Fairey did the Person of the Year (protestor) cover, which you may recall was some inexplicable image that confused many because there was no Guy Fawkes (V) mask to be seen, even in the article. Everyone knows that that mask is the impromptu symbol of OWS protestors.

I assumed there was a copyright issue. It turns out Time owns the rights to that mask and everytime someone buys one, they get a royalty. So its ok to collect royalties on the masks but not OK to acknowledge the transformative symbolic content of the image?

I've been broadcasting on twitter not to buy the mask. Just make your own.

My version...

In the 'humour or truth' category ...

According to one offbeat Irish site, the USA Republican party nomination farce, with populist Ron Paul playing a major role, is being stage-managed to deadlock on purpose ...

So Jeb Bush, brother of the last President Bush, can be the nominee!

Tyler D. sez 'be sceptical' of this website, from when they ran the earlier story about Strauss-Kahn being arrested in New York because he found there was no gold in the basement of the New York Fed ...

But anyway, curious interesting reading:

« Kissinger vows to China: “Jeb Bush Will Be Next President” »

http://www.whatdoesitmean.com/index1555.htm

Tue, 01/31/2012 - 10:24 | 2112497 Gully Foyle
Gully Foyle's picture

"The path to a deadlocked convention, this report says Kissinger told the Chinese, lies in neither current Republican frontrunners Governor Mitt Romney or Congressman Ron Paul having enough delegates to ensure their nomination on the first ballot after which their supporters will be free to nominate anyone they so choose."

I thought the Paul plan was to do the after vote work and manuever as many delegates as possible.

I know In Iowa that's what they did.

http://www.dailypaul.com/199550/exclusive-ron-paul-may-have-just-secretl...

"Senior advisors for Paul's coalitions team told Business Insider this week that the campaign's organizational strategy was focused not only on getting as many votes as they can, but in making sure that their volunteers stuck around after the voting to make sure that they were nominated as delegates to the county's Republican convention — the first step towards being appointed as a delegate to the Republican National Convention"

Then there is this

http://minx.cc/?post=325875

A prominent friend told me some weeks ago that he noticed an odd thing. In his state, several people who have been successful in getting themselves known as very probably Mitt Romney delegates for the Republican National Convention are also his supporters. And they are not just my friends’ supporters, they are also long time staunch Ron Paul supporters.

Why then would they, long time staunch Ron Paul supporters, align this year with Mitt Romney? He made calls and talked to friends in other states. All of them saw the same thing happening — long time Dr. Paul supporters working to become delegates to the convention pledging to support Mitt Romney and others.

If the field stays fractured at this level, with only a few people, but each getting delegates enough to prevent the front runner from an outright majority, there will be a second vote at the Republican National Convention.

Delegates are only locked in for their candidate during the first vote. After the first vote, they can vote for whoever they want. So if Mitt Romney is unable to clear an outright majority on the first ballot, suddenly he could see some of his delegates turn on him — turn and go back to Ron Paul.

It is an ingenious strategy premised on a convention where no one gets majority support early. It plays well to a primary calendar where the delegates are first awarded proportionally. Who knows if it is a campaign strategy or just his volunteers, but the Paul campaign has been active now for four years trying to take over local parties.

It may pay off if the GOP doesn’t unite around a candidate soon."

it IS going to happen that jeb is president - but they are going to toss the next 4 years to obama.  it's that bad and they know it.  believe me - 2015 - jeb wins.  he has time, he is young enough.

besides, they already know what is planned to happen between now and then, they are much more long term then you and i having to live hand to mouth.  for them - it's empire.  and 3 people in one family being president breaks the record.

i guess that if the truth be ever told
there will be more votes from the graves
of florida for this republican nomination
than from the polling booths, however,
i do not expect the truth will ever be told.
i heard the number of 935 corpses were said
to have voted in the recent s.c. contest, all
the claims destined to remain in the realm of
hearsay of heresy. i'm not sure that there
is any law that requires any reliable tallying
when speaking of democracy and party nominations.
it is all more a matter of entertainment and show.
gorilla theater maybe?

This is a recurring practice in American voting, apparently.

On one occasion when a US politician was caught registering the votes of dead people, he apparently quipped, "Just because a man is dead, you wouldn't want to deny him the right to vote, would you?"

And there is an American election slogan, I think from Obama's home town of Chicago ...

"On election day, be sure and vote early ... and vote OFTEN!"

I heard that most of those dead voters in SC had moved there from Chicago to escape the cold. In fact, several had even been among the dead who voted for Kennedy in 1960.

it is only right that a dead person
capable of voting be uninhibited from
voting multiple times and for multiple
parties and in multiple campaigns.
after all we have reverence and respect
for extraordinary powers and abilities.

too.

exactly, and then in case of any atrocity
of judgement on the part of the voting public,
be they dead or alive, we have the electoral
college and then in most exacerbating circumstances
the supreme court to make the correct selection.
and then there is this increasingly important
technological development...( this the crap that
gives technology a bad name ).
