The good ole U S of A! What a laughing stock it has become. Hide your head (collective) in shame.
Just came back from holiday out of country. Met a Canadian wearing his maple leaf pin. Turns out he was not Canadian at all! He admitted to being an American travelling incognito! Did not want anyone to find out he was American. That pretty well says it all.
What a laughing stock.
Unfortunately, if PM Harper doesn't get over his case of "Big Stick" Envy pretty soon, that may not be a safe option for Americans abroad any more.
Canada's ability to "punch above its weight" in international affairs as well as its "Peace-keeping" role carefully nurtured since the days of Lester B. Pearson (that was a Nobel Peace Prize well-earned) are pretty much circling the bowl as long as our government is willing to forego an independent stance and play the part of the Empire's Auxiliary Troops.
Canadian "neo-cons" who bay for blood (Moslem, mostly) don't seem to get that. It doesn't matter what you think your reputation is. This need for self-delusion is a disease we're catching from our Imperialist friends ... the US and the Brits have been suffering from a virulent strain of it for years.
Which leads nicely back to the sad spectacle that the annual State of the Union speech has become. I can't stand to watch it any more, but I tuned in partway through just in time to hear: "We need to level the playing field. [smattering of applause] Because if the playing field is level, America will always win!" [enthusiastic applause]
Geeze, America, do you really need to insult the whole world to feel good about yourselves ... or score cheap political points. Always win? Really?
If you are a traveling American, these are not friendly times. I'm not talking about physical threats. You are just not idolized as was the case once upon a time, which for some balloon heads is disorienting.
So true. I either tell people I'm Canadian, or else tell them I left the US after Bush was re-appointed the second time (which is true). Very sad. If we'd just stop bombing the shit out of them and invading them and lecturing them about "democracy' (ha ha) maybe they wouldn't hate us so much.
This is the only art I'd hang on my walls, if I had a "home". Did anybody else lose a "home" they never owned to begin with, and that they paid 4 or 5 times more than it was ever truly worth because they didn't understand the Fed and their unlimited "supply" of judefetzen? My new "home" might be an apartment, just like before all this shit.

After you have compared the voting records of all these politicians, you the sound minded true conservatives will all see that ONLY Ron Paul is the true conservative and the rest of these clowns are just more of the same old bush/obama war for profits and liberty killing agendas rolled into one. It will only be the same old thing if anyone but Ron Paul is elected.
This is the honest truth and if you have consciousness and a real belief in the foundations in which America was established, God, Truth, Justice, Liberty for all, Freedom, then you can not deny what your own heart tells you after seeing all the truths about all these politicians that are running for office. If you are truly honest with yourself, you will plainly see that there is only one recourse for you to take and that is a sound declaration for Ron Paul at your local caucus now. We never needed you as a group more in America and we your grandchildren who are not blinded by the zio-media propaganda machine do plainly see and hear the truth and light in Ron Paul’s messages. We see the real news and DO NOT watch TV or read the tainted newspapers that have long to long mislead the American people into the horrible situation our country is in today. Who has not been affected by the past 12 years of this country’s misdirection and endless wars? What has the bush/obama agenda done for you as an individual? Tax and spend into bankruptcy. Is that conservative?
We are begging you to see the Light and to get active and DO the right up thing one more time for your country. Watching Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich argue about who was more corrupt was like watching two weasels fight over a dead mouse. Warmongers in the heart, both ripping and gnawing at each other with the facts about each others dirty cover ups and corruptions. And then, the host stopped it right in the heat of the truths coming out. How is that for biased reporting? Break time!
You have to think it funny when they throw rocks at each other, but they throw none at Ron Paul. He has stood up honest and proud and that is something that has been forgotten in this country. True honesty. Many of you grew up knowing what that really is. We do not see it much in today’s world do we? Ron Paul is the kind of a man that looks you in the eyes when he speaks to you. Will any of those others that know deep in their hearts they are wrong and corrupted do that?
Bless you and thank you for your time and consideration of this dire situation we are all in. Only you, our Grandparents, the last of Americas great generations can make a difference in this time when America needs you the most. Only your vote for Ron Paul will ensure real changes and the cleaning up of the govt corruptions and fascistic war mongering for the banksters that profit from war and chaos. Only Ron Paul will bring real conservative values back to the White House and none of these other warmongers and representatives of private corporations will. Let us live in Peace.

What a weasel. Gingrich is lying about his background, trying to invoke Goldwater, Reagan, Laffer because he knows these are hot buttons for Republican voters.
Truth is, he supported ROCKEFELLER, not Goldwater. He idolizes FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT, not Ronald Reagan.

There is no way like the American way
Had a brief moment of hope this morning when I saw the supreme court cracked down on cops installing GPS trackers on peoples cars. I though maybe if some cases on detention related to the NDAA come to court they will crack down and uphold habius corpus. Then I realized you have to have somebody with standing to bring the case to court. More reason for the goverment to NEVER EVER release you.
