W2.0:Rick Perry Wants To Try Ben Bernanke For Treason

lizzy36's picture

Texas Governor Rick Perry suggested in Iowa today that should Bernanke "print more money" before the election that it would be treason. Treason is a capital offense.

Speaking just now in Iowa, Perry said, “If this guy prints more money between now and the election, I dunno what y’all would do to him in Iowa but we would treat him pretty ugly down in Texas. Printing more money to play politics at this particular time in history is almost treasonous in my opinion.” Treason is a capital offense.

One is not sure if Governor Perry is taking aim at monetary policy here or trying to win over Ron Paul supporters. However, advocating violence against a sitting Federal Reserve Chairman does not really sound all that Presidential.

Someone might also want to remind the Governor that suggesting Texas secede from the Union might also be construed as Treason. But I digress.

I don't know about you gang but I am really looking forward to 16 more months of rhetoric, hyperbole and all things related to the $3B auction, Americans so innocently refer to as the presidential election of 2012

Yes, but if you call out the bankers their propanda machines and thuggery go all out----I wouldn't doubt they will probably redirect some of the algo machines they normally use to screw the public out of their savings to the propaganda machine against Perry.

ok rocket scientist with the 145 iq please tell us who we ought to vote for, excluding yourself naturally, that meets your high standards of excellence.

as you said, perry has no redeeming value in his body or soul since he is a "complete" 100%, total "nut" i guess based upon his faith beliefs. so i will be very interested to hear who you the all wise, all knowing man (assumption) of intelligence, who wants everybody to know how smart you are, would say is worthy of leading us. and of course if that person has one scintilla of faith, and unless he or she is 100% atheist, i assume you will rule them out as being a "nut." and of course the person you select must be in the field of candidates that we can vote for.

I have no idea. And I'm prepared to believe you know more about whichever candidates are available than I do. Anynbody who aided and abetted Al Gore and believes in Jebus; is an alarming candidate. True believers cause most of the serious problems in the world. It would be nice if this country were intellectually developed enough that we could elect an atheist; but I realize that's impossible. The serious problems caused by Bush, et. al, were centrally related to his and his cronies belief systems; when made it impossible for reality to be listened to. Trust me on this one, we don't want presidents who say, "God told me to do it".

i seriously doubt i would trust much of anything you say without quite a bit of research first for verification. your writing is littered with absolutes: "complete nut." "Anynbody", believers in "Jebus." but then when somebody engages you to put up or shut up on your ideal candidate you write that you don't follow the candidates or watch the debates since, i assume, you said you don't have a tv.

rather, you listen to the birds chirp. how enlightening. and you decry the fact that perry is white as rice. again, how broad minded of you since with your 145 iq i would have thought that skin color was beyond your elevated notion of righteousness and truth.

next thing ya know i guess you'll tell us that while you've never read the writings of what Christ said you just know intuitively that he's wrong because you have a 145 iq.

Oh really?   You are a sheeple if you believe that.  Calling Bernanke out for his crimes is nothing short of honorable.   I don't know very much about Perry, but if he is willing to take on the oligarch, he can't be all bad.

This video sums it up quite nicely---perhaps you should take a few minutes and enlighten yourself:

Secession is one of those rights that if you are not strong enough to enforce it then you dont yet qualify for it.

The South lost the Civil War, aka War of Northern Aggression, but that does not mean that the merits of their legal arguments are sound or more plausible.

If any states secede, what would make them any different than the former USSR republics that seceded and we rushed to recognise? Given that we supported all those secessions, isnt it kind of hypocrital to deny said right to our states also?

as a counter point to this article one could learn from the master keynes himself about money printing by reading the introduction to his general theory. gary north has a verbatim excerpt of it (mid way through his article) over at lew rockwell's site today. kinda reinforces the notion that indeed there has been a power grab, and the people doing it know it.

Perry is a typical political whore... say or do anything to get elected...

actually, articles like this serve a good purpose, even though i rated it poor, mainly because of the lack of context.

the reason i like these type articles is because it brings out the "texas" haters, and vice versa. it ought to be painfully obvious to even the dimmest of bulbs that the current incarnation of the usa is hopelessly divided. basically, we don't have enough in common to stick together. i sincerely hope that one day the yankees will kick out texas, the south and the midwest, or whatever "they" (and i mean "they" in the most alien figure of speech imaginable) everybody would be happier. the yankees can have their socialism, and the rest of us can live in our rough and ready ways of doing things.

when the yankees do decide to kick some states out one will be very surprised to learn that by golly, ya know what, that secession thing is really constitutional after all.

You're right there.  It would be a smart move to split up into a few different countries and let people live the way they choose.  What are the odds of the statists having a moment of clarity and allowing that to happen?

I've long thought this was the way to go (might want to go to as many as 3 or even 4).  The opposition can choose the border subject to it being a straight line or on existing state borders, and both sides have to have coast line.  Otherwise, they take their pick, north, south, east, west, or diagonal NE--> SW, or diagonal NW --> SE.

Debt responsibility split proportionately

FTA between the two countries.

I don't care what choice is made, I know which would be the ultimate place to be.

my best guess is that clarity comes when the dollar reaches its intrinsic value of zero, which i think will happen quickly, maybe all at once, overnight even. at that moment in time who could blame folks for saying: "what's the point of union? you've destroyed (non gold owners) my net worth, and life savings."

Every time you interact with the money system, you request a printing of more money.

When you use a credit card the money does NOT exist BEFORE you use it.  So when you use it the money then exists for you to spend.

So, exactly who is responsible for the vast increase in (credit)-(means of exchange)-(whatever name you call it)::: aka "money printing?"

So who exactly "gets put on trial for *treason*?"

Ohhhh....

(never mind, eh?)

I thought when you used a credit card the bank fronts the money and then you pay them back.  That's why you have a credit limit.  Explain this magical credit cards create money theory to me.

LB is correct. However the new money is extinguished when I pay off the credit card balance in full each month. It gets ugly if I decide to pay the minimum balance and finance (interest) charges. The money borrowed is created at the time of the transaction but the money to pay the interest is not. Therefore there is not enough money in the system to pay the debt and the interest. That part must come from servitude to the bank in the form of a claim on the future fruits of my labor.

lmao, 'down in texas'.  I can't stand that state.  One time I entered the southern texas border, I was going 72 in a 70 a trooper on a divided hiway going the other way threw his lights on, did a huey and came after me. Pulled me over and told me my thunderbird was a potential drug runner. I just got out of the hospital with 3rd degree burns on 35% of my body and had compression bandages all over my body.  He makes me get out and searches the car, rips the rear seat off the hooks and broke it.  Didn't find anything then said have a nice day. I'll NEVER go to that fucking state again.

Treason is defined in the Constitution.  Aiding and abbetting an enemy in a time of war.  Printing money excess amounts of money may destroy the economy, but it ain't treason.  Perry doesn't know that.  One reason he is unqualified to be President.

Then let's redefine treason to include destroying our economy.  Arrest anyone who has ever voted for a deficit budget except in time of declared war.  Start hanging them.  Or next batch of representatives will act a lot different.

The quote:

Printing more money to play politics at this particular time in history is almost treasonous in my opinion.

doesn't even say that he believes that Bernanke has commited treason, just that his actions are "almost" treasonous. The article makes the jump of saying that Perry is ready to have the trial.
