Why Are We Fighting On the Same Side with Al Qaeda?
Reuters notes that the leader of Al Qaeda - Ayman al-Zawahri - is backing the Syrian rebels, and asking his followers to fight the Syrian government.
Some of the main Al Qaeda fighters who overthrew Gadaffi - and now appear to be in control of Libya - are already helping the Syrian rebels.
This is curious, given that the U.S. is considering military options for ousting the Syrian government, American allies Britain and Qatar allegedly already have foreign troops inside Syria, and the U.S. has been planning regime change in Syria for over 50 years.
Mainstream reports also state that the U.S. and its allies are backing Iranian terrorists.
I thought Al Qaeda was America's mortal enemy. Why are we backing terrorists?

How was Mosaddeq a bad guy? Because he cared more about his country than foreign oil companies and was tired of getting ripped off by them? How was Allende(Chile) a bad guy? And his replacement Pinochet was less of a bad guy guy? Who supported the Sandinistas guerrilla war against Somoza? Cuba and the Soviet Union. Guess who supplied weapons to Somoza, Israel. The U.S. backed Somoza until Carter withdrew support due to human rights violations. There is a long history of the U.S. supporting dictators that support their agenda and exploitation by corporations.
It's simple really, Al Qaeda is no longer the Terrorist; Constitutionally minded American citizens are. Remember kiddies.........see something say something...................

Often, just reading the headline is enough to conclude that we are being "treated" to another post from George Washington. Such posts are often created from faulty logic and unsupportable conclusions. In this case, just because Al Quada and the US come to the same conclusion as to where our interests lie, does not mean we are on the same side. For example, Al Quada love chaos because it provides them an entry. The US, on the other hand, does not like kindly on Syria's proxy actions for Iran, the destabalization of Lebanon via Hamas, and the killing of the Syran people by its own government.
This idiotic piece by George Washington makes an implicit assumption that we should base our concept of our national interest on what Al Quada thinks. It would be hard to find a more absurd conclusion.

Coincidences happen, yes, but unfortunately I'm also rational and sceptical, so I'll have to go with Occam's Razor on this one. i.e. the simplest explanation, that can account for all the observations, is the one that's most likely to be correct.
