With 41 Days To The Election, Americans' Priorities Have Never Been Clearer

Tyler Durden's picture

Forget foreign policy debacles; never mind the gridlock and polarization that is dominating a looming 'fiscal cliff'; ignore Super-PAC-dominated propaganda - it seems the well-educated American citizen is fully cognizant of what each Presidential candidate (and his party) truly stands for. As the chart below shows, priorities on Sunday night were extremely clear...

You mean I missed the debat?  Drat!  This election is really important to those like me who prefer the way one party sells us into slavery for the bankers over way the other party sells us into slavery for the bankers.

Maybe people have finally wizened up to the bull$hit mainstream media and tuned out 60 Minutes in protest?

Or maybe it really is just Bread And Circuses......Or the modern equivalent, which is Jersey Shore and Cheezy-Poofs.

Yeah... that's more along the lines of my thought process.

In my heart, the low 60 Minutes ratings are a function of the people rejecting the traditional 2-party system.  How dare CBS exclude any 3rd party candidate making their own views known for the electorate to judge.

In my brain, however, is the image of Bread and Circuses.  If you feed enough channels on the cable telly, you can totally avoid the pressing issues of the day.  Not that 60 Minutes is actually an adequate platform feeding the viewer on intellectual content, necessarily.

What in the world are Cheezy-Poofs, anyway?

There was a great skit on Saturday Night Live last weekend about the undecided voter. It was painfully true. All elections these days are decided by a marginal few people who, frankly, either don’t give a shit or don’t know how to spell Republikin or Demacrat.

Hey, I won!

Voters are not excited about Obama, and seemingly are even less excited by Mitt.  The formula for a Democratic victory is in place - namely that the Republicans nominated another old guy who waivers in his message.

Since the banksters own both candidates who cares which one wins. The public is screwed either way so watching football makes a weird sort of sense.

Note: You'll see his pulverized brains on the roadway . . . the Chinese are the worst of capitalist pigs - no god, therefore no accountability - They are all about greed, and where we are headed with the 1% in charge.

But the MSM won't cover it, and Atlas will just shrug . . .

There's no reason for anyone to waste their time with the MSM bama/mittens crap.  Not watching this garbage in no way reflects negatively upon one's intelligence.  I pay no attention to any of it at all.

I know how I'm going to vote.  I never vote for personalities anyway.  Anymore, I don't for FOR anyone at all.  I vote AGAINST the party that is the most likely to do me the most damage.  I don't need anyone to explain to me who that is.  I doubt anyone else needs anyone to explain it to them either.

Even the muppets know our presidential election is a staged joke. They don't care who gets to preside over their FEMA camps? Obama or Romney. They'd rather watch a game or a soap opera than think about their future.

The NFL is great for now, but when the MASS ARRESTS occur and the paddy wagons and prison buses pull up to the White House and Capitol Hill, you won't have a choice of what to watch on television. The MASS ARRESTS will be the first and only 100 share... http://tinyurl.com/cd5cyjo/

Americans, for the most part, are arrogant, ignorant, indolent sheeple whose only concern is where their next Big Mac comes from. The American public has sunk to such lows that they believe the drivel that the left is using to pander to the lowest common denomiator. They deserve Obama for another 4 years. Won't affect me as I am leaving the US for greener pastures. I've given up giving a shit as I am but a cog in the machine and can no longer stomach what is happening to the country of my birth.

Theres not a dimes worth of difference between the two obamaromneys.

Its no wonder people distract themselves with sitcoms. Can you blame them?

Most people know something is wrong, they just dont know what to do about it. Some are wrong-headed in their solutions, some are right, but one thing they all agree on is that things dont look good.

I'll just throw my vote to Gary Johnson I guess. Depends how long the line of old people at the voting booth is.

The joe of it is the belief that some how in the past, people were deep-thinking and far seeing and heavily and directly involved in all government actions, that we've all become lazy seekers os mindless entertainment only since the end of WW 2. The fact is, it is the same as it ever was. TV is no worse than any previous form of "infotainment", it's just more readily accessible.

Did folks in the Depression spend all their time fight for a new financial system to replace their rickety economy, or did they floick to se Hollywood's latest dumbass musical?

How about this letter complaining about the Fulbright hearings: "Please conduct any further inquiry in private, or between 4:30 and 7:30 P.M. Interference with regular daytime television programming is losing you the support of the housewives."

People have been lazy and distracted since the first dude put a freshly skinned antelope on his back and danced about grunting and waving a rib bone. Modern americans are no different. They just have more choices for distractions.

I love when people post charts with smarmy commentary on how civilization is doomed because people are too busy watching football. I'm sorry but mankind has always been stupid and self centered. Rome built a coliseum for the enjoyment of watching people get eaten by a lion.
