How Bank Of America Destroyed Football
As the NFL torments it players, coaches, and viewers by playing hardball over 'real' referee earnings, the truth of Monday's blown call is coming out. Courtesy of American Banker, we now know that the referee at the center of the most controversial call of the season so far is in fact a vice president for small-business banking at Bank of America in California.
The result of this call was over a billion dollars exchanging hands in Vegas bookies' offices from what was a certain winning position to certain losers, precisely due to just this one call, causing substantial losses for bookies in the process as well.
The man in question...
Lance Easley - previously at Wells Fargo, has worked at BofA since June 2011 - (we assume) moonlighting as a referee in the Santa Barbara area (officiating high school and junior college football and basketball games). Well done Lance, you have managed to move from the most-hated occupation (bankster) to the most-hated individual (outside of Seattle) in one weekend. Is it any wonder Small Business confidence and uncertainty is so high?

More importantly, the public had their money on Green Bay... both the line and money line. Vegas was the big winner.
Well done Lance, you have managed to move from the most-hated occupation (bankster) to the most-hated individual (outside of Seattle AND Las Vegas) in one weekend.
ZH,
Please report on all the phony cyber attacks to bank websites occurring these last few days...I think the banksters need to come up with a better name than this, cmon!
Izz al Din al Qassam?
Yo shizzle is the dizzle in the shiz on? Shazzam!
In a posting at Pastebin.com, a group calling itself the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Cyber Fighters claimed responsibility for last week’s outages at Bank of America, Citi, and JPMorgan before hitting Wells Fargo. It said it would attack U.S. Bancorp on Wednesday and PNC Financial Services Thursday.
Where are the Seatle owners & coaches now???
Why aren't they rebuking the NFL?
Why aren't the coming out to say "this is not right! We did not win this game!"
BofA = Bunch of A-holes!
So how much as Mr. Bankster-Referee-for-a-day paid to throw the game?
You gotta ask WWJD?
What Would Jon (Corzine) Do?
I guess since the banks are spending zero time and effort making small business loan, this dude has nothing better to do than find another group of people he would like to separate from their money.
increaing tabloidization of zeee H.
For the sake of the Republic, these millionaire football players should be officiated by:
Eric Holder
Mary Schapiro
Gary Gensler
Sheila Bair
John Roberts
Has anyone noticed all the crowds protesting this call in Madrid and Athens? They're really upset about it!
Hey, these people know a thing or two about sacrosanctity!
Honestly, if the NFL isn't immune, just what chance do the rest of us have?
LOL - They hate us for our blown calls!
The most significant item in this event is a banker displaying horrible judgement (and perhaps bias) in a very visible way, one that is not so visible when he is wearing his suit and tie.
No one should be surprised.
Enjoy it while you can, at least its a break from the mere mundane. While they try to lull us to sleep with Hispanic Heritage month and then crush our skulls next month with Ta-Ta Cancer Awareness, I'm glad to finally see some truely outrageous human folly. It'll be something to laugh about in the future while we waste away in the FEMA prison camp factories producing war material for WWIII.
Don't forget asshole cancer month!
Tell me, am I the only one who equates those asshole cancer mustaches with a "Dirty Sanchez?"
"asshole cancer month"
Sorry, but I don't get the joke...my rectal cancer caused me to spend most of last evening laying on the couch because I had exhausted myself walking to the mailbox and back...but I'm not trying to make you out to be a jerk because I'm sure you're not a jerk.
Allow me a different viewpoint on this whole referee mess...we hold these refs to a 100% accuracy standard...how many of us would like to be judged by that standard in our workplaces? Not only that, but your performance would be televised live, to be critiqued by millions who have no real idea how hard it is to do your job.
Remember when people were allowed to make mistakes and, if they came clean and admitted their error, they were forgiven and everybody moved on?
They don't hold them to a perfection standard, else there wouldn't be the option to review the play in high def slo-mo. Seems elementary, but wtf do I know?
Here in the Great Northwest we see things differently. Where were all you "this just ain't right" types when Seattle went to Chicago last year and no holding calls were made against the Bears (I'm a Chicago native) and it looked very likely that the fix was in? You guys are just jealous of the greatest sports city in the world! Go back to trading Detroit municipal bonds and leave us to our glory!
Note to all you doubters: The local FOX TV station (Seattle) exclusively caught the real deal (http://www.q13fox.com/sports/football/seahawks/kcpq-seahawks-capitalize-...) showing that Seattle really did catch the ball and won the game fair and square. The Green Bay fans are a bunch of crybabies (along the rest of you who doubt the greatness of the Seahawks whose home is the place where coffee is considered a vegetable)!
Ok, refresh my memory since I stopped watching this shit for this very reason. Can't the offended team make them review the stupid call over 100 time via the 9000 video cameras around the stadium, and have the call thrown out?
Um, duh dude.

LOL - Too bad it wasn't "Time Travel". Probably make things just interesting enough for me to care. :)
So I am assuming someone's pension fund was riding on the looser?
The Friday afternoon humor topic came awfully early this week.
But the boobs were OK, even if it is Wednesday.
That ref is not the problem -- it's the replay official who has the final call. He works for the federal government and will soon be on the Obamacare IPAD committee.
Since the guy is Vice President of a bank, we can assume he's a Republican, so it's no wonder why he had his head stuck up his ass.
You don't watch much sports I'm guessing?
Cerebral rectal inversion is a nonpartisan disease.
somewhere, Steve Bartman is pumping his fist right now saying "Yesssss!"
Shark Jumping 101
Not especially relevant, but I really enjoyed watching Paul Warfield play back in the day.
I love sports memorabilia after bubble goes pop! Fun to watch grown men liquidate rookie cards to pay mortgage. Unfortunately BB cards to firm to wipe ass with, ouch!
Long Beanie Babies!
Bank of America provides huge operating lines of credit to major league sports franchises, in many cases to fund losses. There is little if any due diligence done because they view the value of the franchise as the overarching concern. And those always appreciate, correct? ;-) It's really not dissimilar to the government's racket. Another multi-generational ponzi scheme...
What does this guy make at BA and why does he have to hog another job?
Maybe he's aware of the imminent death of commercial banking?
Faux Bus News reported that the NFL/Refs have come to a tentative agreement as could be back by Sunday, 9/30
*game over* bitchez
and I am not referring to MNF.
If the "real" refs were perfect we wouldn't need replays.
Get the fuck over it.....
Retard. The ref looked at the replay and didn't have the integrity to call it like it actually was and overturn his ruling.
Wasn't it reviewed by a third party in the replay booth? Who is policing the police?
I am pretty sure you are wrong. The replay official is not a "replacement" (scab). That is a league-filled position, I thought...
Bookies/Sports Books shouldn't lose money unless they took a position on the game (which some do as I understand it). Theoretically they make their money on the juice and should not be losing money. It was people betting on Green Bay who were the losers. Had the league overturned the outcome after the fact, then the books would have been stuck for paying out both sides and would have been crushed.

When a player (or players) is going to the ground in the attempt to catch a pass, Rule 8, Section 1, Article 3, Item 1 states:
Player Going to the Ground. If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without contact by an opponent), he must maintain control of the ball throughout the process of contacting the ground, whether in the field of play or the end zone. If he loses control of the ball, and the ball touches the ground before he regains control, the pass is incomplete. If he regains control prior to the ball touching the ground, the pass is complete.
Rule 8, Section 1, Article 3, Item 5 states:
Simultaneous Catch. If a pass is caught simultaneously by two eligible opponents, and both players retain it, the ball belongs to the passers. It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains joint control. If the ball is muffed after simultaneous touching by two such players, all the players of the passing team become eligible to catch the loose ball.

Fuck the Packers, GO BEARS! lol
Ahh. The glorious game of...
Hand Egg
Rumor has it Steve Wynn issued a fatwa on Lance Easley
Lance, you better pray the FBI gets to you FIRST.
i doubt that, as the house everywhere needed Seattle
If the bets were truly in the billion dollar range and the game was rigged, then heads will go missing
Would love to find out who was on the other side of the bet.
The great majority of the public was riding the packers. but this wasn't an overwhelmingly large pool...all the talk of a fix (at least from the books side) is stupid.
Thanks for your research and putting that to rest. One less conspiracy (theory) to worry about!
The worst is that Robert Kraft, owner of the Patriots, is a fed governor. Yeah, and the insipid media blowjob last year when his wife died was just too much. Adorn your Rulers with praise, you pigs. Oh, and give us your tax dollars to build our cathedrals to our Greatness.
The NFL is part of the problem in the US. College football is not far behind.
Free-agency destroyed football and baseball for me. Why should I care about most of these players nowadays? They don't look, sound, or act like anyone from my home town, I don't know them nor ever will, and they'll be gone in a few years anyway. They make millions and act like monkeys.
to much comments on this topic.
Two thing destroyed all sports on planet earth, and they go hand in hand,or as some say,Joe in Jane:
Money,or more correct Commercial Empires.
Once a family event, now a drunk PopSanto,Coca Pepsi event, for doped Fifaiamnotcorruptheads fans on steoroids,Blankfeins cheerleaders groupies!
Perhaps someone else has added to to bad bankster/bad ref farce of this, but it is worth noting that the Green Bay Packers are the only municipally held franchise in sports of which I am aware. So, in our farcical world, it makes sense for the bad ref/bad bankster to hose the Packers. After all, they are a socialist institution in an elite owner world. By now, everyone should recognize that socialism is the blood enemy of the elite. Good call there ref!
Uh, what? Socialism is the blood enemy of the elite? You're a tad backwards. Socialism is a statist system. The elite enjoy overt protection in Socialism.
... er, National Socialist perhaps, aka Corporatism/Fascism. I was implying more Marx than Mussolini. Surely the public ownership of the GBP sticks out like a sore thumb.
Green Bay did not deserve to win. And I agree with that homo Tom Brady, the replacement refs are OK.
We got 'twofer'.....refs failed to call the offensive interference penalty while at the same time awarding possesion to the wrong player.....now that we know where this fool is employed, it makes total sense. At the very least, BofA should publicly fire this guy....that would generate the best P/R for them in years.
I fond of the Packers' luring chick... just look at her big rounded glandular things :-)> LoL
btw NFL --> one excellent illustration for “Amusing Ourselves To Death”
“Amusing Ourselves To Death” (by Stuart McMillen, 2009)
is a very cool infographic showing a comparison between Aldous Huxley’s view of the future from “Brave New World” and George Orwell’s fears or vision expressed in “Nineteen-Eighty-Four”.
Well now. we know that some big, big, big money bets were entered. They are so strapped for cash that they are now running rigs in pro games. Of course, this is my opinion... but you can toss it into the big conspiracy bucket just for fun.
whata fucker..
STFU!!! you whining Packers of meat fans. Bad calls are part of the game. I dont recall this much outrage when
your little Prince was nailed by this snot bubbler of a hit that was ruled a personal foul. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFDaBH_bSR0
Do not whine that it was helmet to helmet look at it slow motion and you can see Rodgers turn his head as he throws the ball.
What a dumbass. Ameican will forgive him for screwing up their savings, economy, jobs. But they will never ever forgive him for screwing up a footall game.

this banker/football ref, a common second
line of work for bankers, is not such a big deal
except for the foreshadowing element. the story
that will come out. the shame involved with this
call will force him out of this line of part time
work and he will be seeking seasonal employment with
..... the diebold corporation. that's right,
you heard it here first.
bankers being know for their superior discernment
capacities and objective perspective.
No matter how much your job sucks, at least you weren't the NFL Owner's negotiator the day after that game.
I turned my back on the NFL in the aftermath of the Pat Tillman debacle.
Corporate sports can kiss my hind end.
Greenbay is not Iran.
Pink slime and replacement refs. Our fucking modern bread and games suck!
It's outrageous that the American people are up in arms over this call yet asleep at the wheel concerning the financial affairs of their country. The people need to be just as pissed off about the lack of fairness provided to We The People compared to the bailed out bankers and glo-bull elitists. Fuck 'em! Good will prevail!
Not the end of the world. ESPN and sports radio has beaten this to death. The tuck call is the worst call ever. Raiders got screwed. Also Seahawks got screwed in the Super Bowl 40 with 3 bad calls. Karma?
