Did COMEX Gold Futures 'Glitch' Hint At The Future Awaiting Us?

Tyler Durden's picture

Call it a fat-finger, or a deus ex 'aurum' machina, but during this morning's COMEX gold futures trading, we wonder if the obvious 'glitch' gave us a premonition of things to come?

The obvious glitch

The Wizard of Oz wasn't written as an allegory for silverites, but it can be interpreted that way (among a bunch of other ways) if one feels like it.

Kinda shocking when anything close to the actual value of Real Money temporarily gets out from behind the curtain, no?

What say we all start a friendly wager on the exact date that the price of gold actually DOES reach this price?

I will start the betting:  March 3, 2015

Remember, this is the same website that often quotes gold by the barrel and oil by the ounce.  And get this, today they are telling the muppets to buy US Treasuries and USD!    Only the brain dead would get their market news from MarketWatch.

I was looking at a Netdania chart at that time.  And there was a massive volume surge that dwarfed anything previous on the chart at that time.  It is gone now.  But it was so big it made it look like the other volume bars barely existed.

Feels like we're the dog, the ball the comex is holding is gold at 17716, and saying, "You want the ball boy, you want the ball? Gooooo get it! All the while never throwing it. We then return feeling dejected when all of a sudden, "you want the ball boy you want the ball?  Goooooooooo get it!  The question then becomes at what point does the dog say fuck it and bite Bernanke  in his balls!

Akak, I agree the NSA is on to ZH, and influencing the comments.  Notwithstanding this morning's attack (? - by Iranians?), which slowed connection severely, apparently for everyone, I have had minor technical difficulties submitting comments ever since I mentioned 12 USC 411.  I suspect this is exactly how Homeland will close down the net.

True question, and thanks in advance. Can you set a buy in those markets at say $2200, or in some narrow window, to only trade in that window? Never traded paper commodities. I know you can fill a stock at any level below(i.e. buy order at $5 fill at $4.95 in a stock, but not 5.01) but because it's a hedge on production could you set a buy at $2100-2105, to hedge a runaway spike in price, but NOT fill until that level, for say a short cover which covers a physical inventory? thx again...no sarc

another i.e. let's say I was only interested in gold at $1805 and up, cause at that point I thought the run was on, but not at $1775. Could I set a buy to hit at that level, but not before?

p.s. I just buy FB and US savings bonds, and AAPL./sarc

I took a screenshot of the silver comex DEC contract just because I was not believing what I was seeing.  I have 14 years in the silver bullion markets and never seen anything like that before but I suppose that it could have happened before and I missed it?  But why the double top and why for such a long period of time?  Better yet, why are all the charts erased or corrected now?  Did anyone succesfully execute an electronic trade?  If so who?  If so, who bought the downside cliff and why?  Why did the market not go up even more if someone did buy?

Something stinks about this whole thing but I'm not an instutionalized(sic) trader by any means.  It is probably nothing but...well...I doubt I need to explain my concerns on this site.  So much for true price discovery.

If nothing else, I now have a MSM sourced chart that says that silver was in the $34,000 range.  That might turn out to be handy later on.LOL

Here's my theory: This was a time slip from after the "global coastal event" hits in Spring '13.  Time/space continuim is becoming like swiss cheese because of the part of "space" the Milky Way is transversing.  Watch for auroras soon in the mid latitudes as a marker for TSHTF.
