Farage Slams Nobel Peace Prize Farce As "Insurgency And Violence" Reign

Tyler Durden's picture

We noted earlier the somewhat surrealistic decision to award the Nobel Peace Prize to the European Union (though entirely consistent it would seem given their previous 'Obama' decision) but now UKIP's Nigel Farage has weighed in with his 'boots on the ground' perspective of this farce. "You only have to open your eyes to see the increasing violence and division within the EU which is caused by the Euro project" he said, adding that "the awarding of this prize to the EU brings it into disrepute." We suspect that reputation is already 'diss'ed but analogizing the tragic imposition of a new flag on Yugoslavia, Farage concludes: "Rather than bring peace and harmony, the EU will cause insurgency and violence." We can only assume that Bin Laden's death forced the 'Nobel's to quick recount.

Via UKIP:

"You only have to open your eyes to see the increasing violence and division within the EU which is caused by the Euro project" he said.

"Spain is on the verge of a bail-out, with senior military figures warning that the Army may have to intervene in Catalonia. In Greece people are starving and abandoning their children through desperate poverty and never a week goes by that we don't see riots and protests in capital cities against the troika and the economic prison they have imposed.

"The next stage is to abandon the Nation state: the awarding of this prize to the EU brings it into disrepute."

Mr Farage added, "The last attempt in Europe to impose a new flag, currency and nationality on separate states was called Yugoslavia. The EU is repeating the same tragic mistake."

"Rather than bring peace and harmony, the EU will cause insurgency and violence."

Perhaps, in addition, as a gentle reminder, GoJam of The Needle blog can provide some color on this surreal decision:

Congratulations to the EU for Winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

The decision, apparently was unanimous and to celebrate this momentus achievement I’ve put together a small picture gallery of peaceful Europe in 2012.

Of course if the peaceful record of Barack Obama after winning the prize is anything to go by, this could spell the beginning of the end for the EU.

Cliff Asness, defining the Nobel Peace Prize:

Definition: A prize awarded to the left’s favorite person that year.

Antonym: Any prize having anything to do with actual Peace, or frankly accomplishment of any kind.

I think he was "being too polite"

your point is well taken.

however, as with obama, the committee members are being clairvoyant and, as with obama's widening of the gwot to yemen, libya, syria, iran, pakistan, u.s. citizens and their teenaged relatives..., they are anticipating the carnage that must oppose the austerity that the clueless eurocrats in their sumptuous leather jackets are prepared to visit on the weak in defense of their prideful dream before they are dissuaded.

It seems not everyone on the Nobel Price committee agreed with this questionable result:
"Norwegian Socialist Left Party leader Lysbakken, whose representative in Nobel Prize Jury was off ill, accuses Jury chief of a "putsch"- DPA "
Me? I think this Nobel Price for the EU is great. It exemplfies to many europeans how deep the rot has penetrated, it's obvious now; while they're being marginalised, their functioning economy taken down, and their democracies trampled, the ppl who willfully fucked the Europa dream are praised, and are patting themselves on the back because of the praise. It's like someone called it; "a boomerang effect".

The EU government themselves? They're confident enough to inform the public of their real ideas. (Google translate)
http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=nl&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=...

Soon the book will hit the shelves, and we can immerse ourselves into more pages of madness. whoeiiiiii

For the quick reader here's two quotes:
The old nation-states of Europe will not be without a fight relinquish their power.

"The European Union is perhaps the best thing the old continent in recent millennia has happened."

The selfdescribed "federalists" are of the opinion that the nation state is the culprit. The systemic failure of the euro project's finances now need to be solved by blaming the democratic institutions that were build up over centuries. The European Commission and European Parliament fail to understand they're the cause of the problem, since they NEVER had the european finances in order. As i wrote before, it's allowed for the malinvestments that have led to the enormous differences between "creditor" and "debtor" states. As before the european accounting office reports enormous conflicts of interests: http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=nl&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=...

And the governments, unbeknownst to the people were ok with those moneystreams since the big banks in Germany, UK and the Netherlands, who reaped the benefits of the massive money flows, and big corporations who benefitted (and still do) of the favourable tax rules and easy access to the Brussels backdoor, those national governments are now are still in line with the EU government: They want to "equalise" these differences in one fell swoop, by dumping the whole mess, insolvent and not insolvent states in one "central EU bank bucket". A folly of this magnitude not even Nigel Farange envisioned, he mostly called it as "incompetence". Incompetent sure, but it is my opinion, the "Federalists" didn't care if nation states or their economies failed since it's not in their interest. They want the federation Europe under their leadership and that's it. I'd like to mention that a confused and bankrupted people could, in theory be herded towards a union easier, than citizens of a successful nation state. Anyway, here's the "interim report" of Herman van Rompuy https://t.co/vJIrq6MO

Farange did point out that the home state of a guy like Guy Verhofstadt; Belgium (the nest of the snakes) now fail spectacularly. They're 750 Million Euro short on the budget. http://nieuws.vtm.be/binnenland/201209017428-vlaamse-regering-zoekt-750-...
But they found a solution; just don't release ANY budget whatsoever: http://nos.nl/audio/428567-belgische-ministers-hebben-geen-tijd-voor-begroting.html

Here's a french video interview of that Guy Verhofstadt http://youtu.be/FRgI4qtuz8U

It would be rather inconsistent with the EU Commission's goals if the host state would have a functioning government, now wouldn't it be? Because they, in their insanity, see the nation state and the people that are now becoming aware of the deceit, as "competition" and would not allow another "captain on their bridge" (read "would not allow another pig in the taxpayer money trough").

In the Netherlands the betrayal of ramming the ESM treaty through parliament while the government resigned now becomes clear, after the elections, that is. Not to worry, although they all recieved a Knighthood for their efforts of our Queen <sarc>she tried to make the best of a bad situation</sarc>The nation's politicians will be left with two choices; either continue the march towards the abyss, or stop and pull the cork on the euro participation. I think they are confident it will work out, despite the looming cliff, and that it's too late to turn back (IMO it NEVER is). But, since the deliberations on how to solve the Creditcrisis - now conveniently renamed "Economic crisis" last month were secret, no one but they themselves know for sure. And they have enough to worry about, at home, with a developing scandal of the State Secretary of Justice who's facing serious allegations of running a pedofile ring, but is miraculously protected, from any investigation or prosecution. I must say the timing of this "breaking news" which has been festering for two decades, is immaculate. He might be tossed under the bus regardless, after his usefulness as blackmailable politician has run out. Then there's the push of government to comply to foreign demands to regulate the cofeeshops (which are successful in the meaning that they keep streetcrime to a minimum), and NO one, conservative or socialist alike wants that, since it IS functioning here, but still, miraculously, it's happening. Regardless of the outcome, it's another example of a government that's turning on it's people and performing a nosedive.

--

Now, some of you might see this as "growing pains", and the rough start of a european coöperation on a continent that always had some struggles.

But here it comes....  amidst all the chaos, and mismanagement, there are members of the european parliament that are now making their plans to open europe for global trade known, THEY ARE PLANNING A "FREE TRADE AGREEMENT WITH JAPAN AND THE USA". The name and wording implies something like NAFTA. And you all know what this did to the small to medium business of the USA and the farmers of Mexico. It also meant the demise of the middle class in the USA. To do this now, to a european people who were building up a competative global trading position, despite all the regulations and taxes, with a people that rely on small agriculture and business, to put this plan in motion, during the breakdown, is not going to help the citizens of europe. This is going to help supra-national corporations that already bridged the Atlantic Ocean, that have offices and factories all over the world and don't give a shit about unemployment in this or that region, and on the other end, those in power so they can continue to serve their role as a "Government for the Corporations". These members of parliament and the think-tanks that they float on, are trying to copy the lobbyist-Congress model of the USA.
http://www.alde.eu/press/press-and-release-news/press-release/article/in...

"Global growth is in Asia so it's in Asia that we must go after growth. Japan is the third largest national economy in the world but only our seventh largest trade partner. This is unacceptable and we need to use free trade negotiations to re-launch our exports to this crucial partner. My report makes clear that we must be firm in negotiations and secure a good deal for EU industry - opening negotiations does not mean that we have to complete them if Japan does not fulfill its part. In particular, the Commission must ensure Japan removes non-tariff regulatory barriers to trade and obstacles to public procurement which unfairly shut out European companies. To those reluctant national governments, I say that we must see this FTA as an opportunity and not as a threat. The same protectionist fears were present before the conclusion of the FTA with South Korea, but now a year after its entry into force, the statistics show that it's the EU that benefited the most. "

I can only come to one (preliminairy) conclusion

They are trashing the economies, and are setting the EU up to become part of a bigger whole, and to achieve this in a short timespan, they've declared WAR on their own people. What an eternal pity that these carreer politicians do not know measure, and that they disregard and even trash the true strenght of europe; democracies built (with blood of generations) on consent, and people with diverse backgrounds and differing economic qualities. I.o.w. they HATE the diversity that makes Europe european. They're trying to make Europe into a uniform factory model state by putting the horse behind the cart. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if they call on the U.N. to send troops once the shit hits the fan.
