QQQ Implies GOOG At $660 (-12.5%) - So Far

Tyler Durden's picture

While GOOG is halted, the rest of the world goes on trading - with 165 hedge funds seeking protection somewhere... QQQ is trading lower, implying a $660 price for GOOG or down 12.5% on the day... so far...

hedge funds should all fucking pour into QQQ and FAZ like ASAP! At least then we'd approach some kind of leveraged reality.

You should specify the search term in your link a little better, since all I'm getting now is a bunch of links on 'clusterfuck'...

Acronym of the day.

Everything !!!

Ruffcut's picture

When amazon posts a lowly penny earnings, and stays at 240's, what is this shit about?

I'm tired of being tired about this clusterfuck.

Unprepared's picture

Does that mean you are not tired anymore?

catacl1sm's picture

Considering NASDAQ dropped .89% after GOOG screwed the pooch, and GOOG lost 9%, I conclude that GOOG = 10% of NASDAQ.

Hedgetard55's picture

That assumes everything else was unchanged, no?

Can we see the algos flash crash QQQ?

Right before options expiration.

This is bullshit.

Shaking someone down.

Unprepared's picture

I'm starting a new hedge fund and calling it ZeroHedge Fund. As the name implies, we will be investing in anything that moves.

Anyone interested?

redpill's picture

As long as it is a proper firm whose two top stocks are AAPL and GOOG, is massively overleveraged, and takes Goldman Sachs analyst statements at face value, I'm in!

Zadok's picture

If you add all the things that don't move, I'm in!

This is so funny! Let the silly revisions begin!

Wait, we forgot to take a last minute Euro based capial gain. The earnings report released early didn't take that into account. We really beat EPS by $.15, PARTY ON!

25th anniversay of the big one and this happens, i love it.

This is what they refer to as a Market Stress factor. We saw this in 2000  about a month before the crash started,  with a small software firm that had a 35 B market cap and a $350 stock price take a pre market leap down to the depths of $70 before rebounding to 140 and then it was a slow drip to a sub $5.00 before they did a reverse split.

Google = Stress Fracture. Apple is is headed down today too. Margin calls a coming.

Village Smithy's picture

They will blame it on this and blame it on that but you nailed the most important part of what we just saw. Day to day any selling is just part of the game, it keeps the music playing. As soon as the balance is disrupted buying is halted and real selling kicks in. Timmmbbber.

Where is Reggie Middleton????

alien-IQ's picture

probably crying and vomiting...simultaneously

Dburn's picture

Yeah, that's what I want to know. Yo Reggie, where's that sword at? This bitch is getting cut to pieces right down to the price you were showing on CNBC before it took off, headed down to August and July levels?. Do ya think CNBC will call you up to explain how this could happen? I mean at least Apple gave a little warning before it dropped 10%. It didn't do it in 2.1 minutes in the middle of a trading day where the only ones who could take advantage of it was all the HFT trading platforms and the people who paid massive premiums on their Puts. They at least got something.

Normally on a drop like this you see Puts that far out of the money up 2000% and I'm looking and seeing $2.00 Puts up $1.00.

Whatta racket.

youngman's picture

Its only halted for us peons......the big boys are getting out as we wait...then they will turn it back on to where we will only get the bottom price...its all fixed...but I bet it screwed up some HFT boys who were at lunch not expecting the numbers so soon.......the casino is open...no shut...no open again....oh whatever...got gold

Zadok's picture

So far, pacing the 2008 play book. What needs to happen now is no follow through on QEternity soon for the oh so much more effective crush in preparation for the new currency intro! Getting closer!

Justpassinthru's picture

Funny. I swear I can just hear the computers whizzing right now... and people freaking out & wondering what the programs will do once the halt is lifted.

Even though tomorrow I expect to see GOOG trading back at today's highs, it is re-assuring to see that Bernanke doesn't have complete control and that a stock can fall significantly. Albeit only temporarily.

FuzzyDunlop21's picture

Price correction, bitchez!

alien-IQ's picture

is there any confirmation that it will be halted until the "official earnings release" after market closes?

GolfHatesMe's picture

Anyone have the conference call number for the Algos to know when this reopens?

No good ever comes from a premature release.
