Monster (Pre-Debate) Ramp Sends Stocks Vertical In last Hour

Tyler Durden's picture

What can we say? All makes perfect sense: earnings dismal (worse than expected) means BTFD and if there is one lever to do that effectively given the massive over-exposure in every levered fund in the world, its AAPL. A 4% rally in AAPL - which perfectly topped out at Thursday's closing VWAP - was enough to drag stocks comfortably green by the close with a near-vertical ramp in S&P futures just to help things along. Seems like the standard pre-debate rally that we warned about last week - so let's not get too carried away by today's 'all-is-well' rally. Broadly speaking, risk-assets did not dip as hard as stocks and the ramp into the close (which as is typical) pulled stocks back up to 'fair' - but with the inevitable overshoot. While we leave up to our readers to divine the implications of such outlier moves on debate days, our only suggestion for those who have missed their opportunity to buy the central bank policy vehicle, formerly known as the S&P 500, with both hands and feet, is to wait until the next presidential debate and go all in. After all, "it's only fair" that the market will soar hours ahead of the two teleprompter-less candidates debating highly irrelevant stuff.

Standard - new normal day... heavy volume dumps, no volume pumps... ES closed above its 50DMA

which is magically the upper-end fo the Bernanke-Draghi divide...

Stocks dramatically soared this afternoon as risk assets in general drifted...

and AAPL's move perfectly reached Thursday's VWAP close (yellow line) and stalled...Biggest up-day in 5 months - which was also when the stock tested the 100DMA, selling resumed the next day... AAPL closed above its 100DMA again.

Commodities were all over the place with Oil plunging and Silver surging - even as the USD ended the day unchanged...

JPY weakness and modest EUR strength balanced to end USD at unchanged...

Can someone please answer me this:  How can the FED or any CB for that matter have a ‘balance sheet’?  Im not an account, but I am also aware enough that in order to have a balance sheet, one must have cheques and balances, hence the name balance sheet.  So the FED CTRL + P FRN’s out of mouse shit, and then uses that to buy other mouse shit (MBS), where is the P+L when you did not spend anything to buy your mouse shit.

I know my company if we created our own money, we would always have nice earnings, but we don’t thus we have a balance sheet saying, “oh hey we lost money this quarter, sorry share holders”.

But when Bernak can buy things for free, how is this a balance sheet…..I guess what I am trying to say is that THEY DO NOT HAVE A BALANCE SHEET! They have stolen assets (if you want to call em that I guess).

Easy, they simply steal some of the value of your FRN's to create new FRN's.

you hit the nail on the head:

I know my company if we created our own money, we would always have nice earnings

why don't we all just create our own money? Their money allows them to never lift a finger, never work an honest job and live off the spoils of their "banking" endeveaours.

Instead we are all FORCED to accept their money as the currency to sell ourselves, our talents and our wares.

It's all so obvious. Any 3rd grader can figure their game out. Can't be much longer before they declare game over and everyone run for the exits.

I'm wondering how many good guys have come to realize the same and then blasted their brains out because it is all so fucking frustrating. Being lied to from the cradle to the grave and not being able to do anything about it. Even when you call them and their representatives on it, they deny until they're blue in the face and at the end of the day their "reality" stands and the good guys are made to look like complete idiots.

What the fuck does any of it matter anymore? You eat, you drink, you work, you have some fun, you get older, you get sick, you get sicker and you eventually die probably medicated for the pain in one way, form or another.

None of this is relevant in a few hundred years. I'm being generous here. The end of the line is here. Global population has grown from 1.5 billion to 7 billion in as little as a hundred years. Now we're pushing 9 billion and soon 20 billion.

Does anyone else think that there is no fucking chance in hell, this world will ever see that many people crawling over each other and trying to feed off each other? Has anyone ever found a den of rats and watched them crawling, gnawing and shitting on top of each other? That is humanity's ugly fate.

I don't think much of America is watching or caring.  Repeated criminal behavior becomes accepted practice.  If there is holding on every play in football the only thing to watch is when they call it and why.  No one stops holding ever.

No one is going to stop the ramping.  It happens every day.  The only thing to watch is when they don't ramp and why?  It will mean TPTB have decided to make money in a different fashion.  Something more profitable than market manipulation.

War as a pretext for theft.  Debt servitude as a pretext for credit extension.  Something that is illegal for sure but unable to be thwarted.

If we dot the i's we will see the last crash made the 90% less wealthy.  The next crash will do the same.  The question is who gets the blame and who gets the money.
