Germany Officially Rejects Latest Greek Lie

Tyler Durden's picture

Literally minutes ago we made it clear that the Greek FinMin is now officially lying on the tape, declaring his "hope" as a fact. It took Germany moments after our post to chime in and confirm that indeed, things are very, very serious, if the finance minister of a country is now blatantly lying. Via BBG

And EURUSD... spikes on the rejection of the lie. In other news, the market is about as unmanipulated as the Mitt Romney flash smash yesterday.

When I was in basic training in the Air Force I learned one important lesson: You're better off telling the truth than lying.  They are going to find out anyway.

You'd make a shitty politician with that kind of attitude.

Actually, he'd make a great politician.  He'd just never get elected or be allowed to run for office by the two dominant parties.

The important thing is that they don't reveal how disfunctional they are until after the U.S. elections.  They might damage O-blowhole's reelection chances.

That's why the ES only reversed out 14 handles instead of 40.

I was wondering...but now it makes sense.

Is this all part of the re-gain confidence strategy?

edit: Not only German officials are denying this but also Olli Rehn and ECB Asmussen say that no agreement has been reached.

Greek politicians are running an HFT firm on the side.
Take a position , make an announcement, take your profits.

C'mon they have to make a living some way. There are no means of production left in Greece that can compete with any country north of the Sahara.

There is a semantic confusion on the Greek issue : "Nein" in Greek means "Ja" in German!

Here is the latest on this issue posted at : 15.19 ECT by AFP France :

La Grèce obtient un sursis de deux ans pour l'ajustement budgétaire

They confirm Greece gets Two years, upto 2016,  from EU/TRoika for balancing budget.

Mutti Merkel has her tits in disarray, what with Draghi and his wheel barrow, Hollande and his dutch cheese on growth without productivity increase and Greece with more budgetry grease.

All she needs now is for Spain to say : "we don't need your aid but we need  500B for our banking without any government collateral", for it to be the straw that breaks her Mutti-Landersbank camel's deutschland back.

Merkel faces election, and Hollande hates her and plans to help her opponent (as she helped Sarkozy in his loss to Hollande).

THIS is a big issue.  Merkel probably wants to hold everything together until election day next year, but she would like that to happen without it costing Germany any money.

She's probably screwed.

Sadly, Greece can afford to get away with lying publicly as it knows nothing will happen. Europe trapped in the ponzi pyramid needs Greece to stay inside at all costs to keep the scam going. Greece is just laughing at all that and blackmailing whenever needed.
