Guest Post: China’s J-31 Stealth Aircraft Takes Flight
Authored by J. Michael Cole via The Diplomat,
Well, the Chinese aviation industry sure isn’t wasting any time: From the first glimpse of the tarp-covered fuselage being hauled in the first official pictures released by Shenyang Aircraft Corp (SAC) in September, China’s second fifth-generation stealth aircraft, the J-31, has now taken its maiden flight.
While defense analysts have been busy fretting over Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corp’s (CAC) J-20, first unveiled in January 2011, it looks like SAC was not dwindling its thumbs but instead was hard at work developing a second low-signature aircraft. Since the unveiling in September, defense watchers had been holding their breath in anticipation of what would come next.
SAC didn’t make them wait for long, with in-flight images of the J-31, which previously had been designated J-21, popping up on defense Internet sites on October 31. Bearing the tail designation “31001,” the aircraft, accompanied by two Shenyang J-11Bs, reportedly conducted a high-speed taxi run, followed by a 10-minute flight with its landing gear in the lowered position.
There is still speculation as to whether the J-31 is intended to be a competitor to the J-20, or a complement to its larger cousin. The one prototype seen so far is a conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) aircraft like the J-20 and the Lockheed F-35A. However, computer-generated renditions of the aircraft have emerged in defense circles hinting at the possibility of a carrier-based variant, pointing to a role for the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN). Analysts have also advanced the possibility that the J-31, under the designation F-60, could be intended as an export fighter to compete against the F-35.
As with the J-20 and other domestic aircraft programs, the main question remains which type of engine — the main technical bottleneck for Chinese engineers — will be used on the J-31. One option, according to some analysts cited at China Defense, could be the Progress-Ivchenko Al-222-95F, a 9.5-tonne turbofan thrust engine, which Ukraine has reportedly offered to co-produce with China.
The Chinese Air Force and Navy are probably half a decade away from seeing fight-generation commence operations in their respective services. But one thing is sure: Defense analysts have underestimated China’s ability to overcome technological hurdles before. While the sky isn’t falling in East Asia, the skies over China are well worth paying close attention to.

i, for one, welcome our chinese overlords.
In Chinese Citizenism, overlordship is a middle class thing.
The overlord class is the king class.

Guess who vetoed the Syria UN resolution? China. Guess who forced the US to backstop Fannie and Freddie? China.
Guess who now controls global geopolitics?

China makes things that merely LOOK like the "items" they are purported to be...
I say it's a flying eggroll shaped like a stealth fighter
The worst thing you can do is underestimate your adversary.
Given that the Obama campaign has been shown to accept foreign contributions, it's pretty safe to assume that that traitorous fuck has been selling US technology out to the Chinese, just like Clinton did.
Implying that the Chinese aren't smart enough to solve the technology problems themselves??
I've got news for you - they ARE smart enough, and the USA is going to find out just how much you've underestimated your future fellow superpower, in due course. Remember, the Chinese are good friends with the Russians, and there's a lot of shared technical knowledge and development goals.
From what I hear, Pres. Clinton's technology transfers to the Mainland were designed to offset arms sales to Taiwan. When France sold frigates to Taiwan over a decade ago, Beijing cancelled the French contract to build the Guangzhou Metro (city pop. 11+ million). The US president simply sought to avoid similar economic sanctions by preserving the pre-existing balance of power between the two governments.
Also, Clinton got laundered campaign cash as a kick back.
This "But one thing is sure: Defense analysts have underestimated China’s ability to overcome technological hurdles before." statement is incomplete at best, naive at worst.
I don't know he received kickbacks but I would be surprised if he didn't.
And yep, let's be nice and settle on "incomplete".
No, the worst thing to do is to overestimate your own powers.
Nope, the worst thing you can do it to miss who is your real adversary. Big banks, Gov, and Fed is where you should look.
Appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak ...
So which one is it ?
China is gearing up to fight World War Three. That's why Beijing is building spare, vacant cities in the middle of nowhere:
http://thespiritoftruth.blogspot.com/2010/12/why-is-china-building-empty...
The West is utterly delusional about what's coming. We print money, push the DJIA to near all-time highs and make believe all is well. The overlords in Moscow and Beijing are well-pleased by our blissful stupidity.

You're certainly a good example of that, Mr. Thinks-He's-Jesus.
How DARE he claim to be the one true Jesus, when everyone knows that the REAL Jesus is a rust stain on the side of an outdoor refrigerator in Citronelle, Alabama?
I recognize that everyone here believes themselves above reality. However, this is a grave error on everyone's part that will have the most catastrophic of historical consequences. Enjoy the delusion while it lasts.

Take a number, fella. Join the long line of folks who think they knew better. I think Craig Venter uncovered a gene for that affliction. Your name isn't Harold Camping, is it?

Smells like cheap publicity...good luck with getting your cult and/or blog site and/or defense budget justification propaganda mill up and running.
I have no followers, and this speaks volumes....but not the way you'd like to think.
So what you're telling us is that while you're in this world, you're secretly not of this world. Gotcha. Srsly: you may wanna look into boosting the meds.
Spirit of Truth said:
You're half correct, I'll give you that. Nevertheless, what sane Jesus would proudly display a picture of himself with Chimpy's wife? The real Jesus hung out with fishermen, prostitutes, and other redeemable dregs of society. As for pharisees, hypocrites, and politicians, he was known for castigating them, not posing for holy pictures with their wives.

Yes, well, of course it is.
to be fair, it has been postulated that Mary Magdelene was a woman of means and property and not a prostitute as per popular belief.
oh no, she's been postulated?
Even worse --- In the Gospel According to John Corzine, she has been rehypostulated.
Seems that the prostitute allegations were part of the propaganda of early church leaders who supressed knowledge of the family of Jesus which was embarassing to their emerging dogma. USC biblical scholar Dr. Robert Eisenman posits that the Magdalen was the bride at the famous wedding at Cana and the groom was Jesus...
"In 1991, during the first Gulf War, I had a prophetic vision of a future Mideast war and global nuclear Apocalypse in connection with my studies of long-wave patterns of history. This vision led me to uncover how Russia is underhandedly plotting to conquer the world via a surprise nuclear war against the West that will be started in such a manner that the misled world will blame 'The Jews' and America for causing the global holocaust of mass destruction. In reality, however, the Kremlin is guilty for this ultimate act of premeditated mass murder. I believe I'm here to help prosecute the evildoers accordingly."
who wrote this BS?
That you could write all those words purporting to be about economics and not once mention Mises, Rothbard or the Austrian School, even if only to dismiss them on some grounds, tells me far more than anything else you could say.
that you think the Austrian school is anything but fringe tells me more!
Two men say they're Jesus; one of them must be wrong!
+1 for 'Industrial Disease' reference. Those guys were GOOOOOOOD.
Agreed. But not stupidity imho. Well planned by the PTB. They will live in luxury anywhere they will have economic wealth.
Spirit of Truth, check out here for some real prophetic stuff: http://thefatherswrath.blogspot.com I think you still have time to run away.
Spirit of Truth is a most noble screen name; if Dr. Henry Kissinger were blogging among us, he might select one like "Spirit of Realpolitik". See his "On China" published in late 2011 for insight.
Among other observations, he notes that China has no track record of expansionism and won't develop one.
Other than, say, Mongolia, Tibet, an attempt on Vietnam, and current claims on Taiwan, no, no track record of expansionism. Unless maybe you mean Africa's resources.
This ain't your daddy's Hop Sing. Mr.Cartwright my ass!
If they're using Chinese bearings, I would not worry too much about their new planes. Just sayin'.
come on guyz...it's all ball bearings these days.
Now, I want u to prepare that fetzer with some three one oil and some gauze pads...
"Col?"
"What's up, Kinch?"
"Mama Bear wants us to create a distraction so they can bomb the roller bearing factory in Himmeldorf."
"I'm on it. First a visit to Col Klink's office. Carter, get out your Hitler costume."
I would suspect that the cheap bearings they use in toys to sell to the USA are not quite the same quality as the ones they use in their aviation industry. The shaft bearings in my very Chinese-made miniature pillar drill are truly excellent quality, with no significant change in shaft runout over the past 6 years of fairly heavy modelling use.
They are not known as "The Inscrutable Chinese" for nothing . . . . .
The engines are Russian.
And they work.
are they using old clips from Top Gun again?
It was only a matter of time.
Meanwhile, scientists in western european and U.S. countries are constructing anti-matter and discovering the higgs boson.
But still China, NJ stealing 15 year old technology (F22).
But its not the tech you should worry about.

Very nice, but those skills wont do much good while face to face with an unmanned drone
We can only hope they go broke as fast as the US of A building unneeded fighter jets for the wars of "tomorrow." I feel better about China crapping out hearing about this.
Can't wait for the video:
Tower this is Ghostrider requesting a flyby.
Negative Ghostrider, the pattern is full.
It might be a decent jet, but judging by past experiences, they'll have to even copy movie footage to pimp it out.

Made in China? Electronics warranteed for only 90 days.
yeah..wait til they start crashing into each other, like the high-speed trains..but..that said, they will figure it out eventually, not to be under-estimated
But I hear the liquified-dung fuel is dirt cheap!
Yeah, it could beat me up, but I am anxious to see it carpet bomb LA...seriously
No loss there...
As a matter of fact when the trailers for that movie where aliens were invading LA was showing a year or 2 ago, the audience was going batshit crazy about the whole city being vaporized.
.
I think the 90 day warranty is just for the crap they make for the Pentagon.
Recently dropped to 30 days, but for an extra 200.00 we can extend it for 2 years
I still like thier chicks in the periwinkle outfits marchin, with the white boots of course.

Damn, I bet trying to read the instruction manual for this plane is pure Hell!
And it is probably rather slow, having so many lead-plated components and all.
On the other hand, it can undoubtedly blob-up enemy aircraft and monolize the flying means at supersonic speeds, and that of course is the mattering thing, the very crustiest bit of an important Chinese Citizenism avionic something.
Ah, ah, but rivalry of strawsmen is not making rivalry is fierce. Communautic up-blobbery and supersonic monolization of the screeching means is just the flying wing attempt du jour of some circumnavigation achieved by Magellan-Elcano arrived to a foreign land as people stunned and appalling dung-soiled sides of runways was very impressive and ugly bestiality on its head.

Just more typical "american" US citizenism offuscation, denial of reality, make funning of the mattering things. Made me laugh.
Stylings of US 'american' citizens is always to offuscationalisticalism, evading truthiness, slippry wriggling-outism of hard facts. Hard facts indict 'american' US citizens of farming the spore and exploiting the tweak. 'Americans' are all about smoting the reality.
Smoting in US 'american' societies is a middle-class thing.
In US 'american' citizenism, the smoting class is the king class.
Just like Eastern Island citizens, smoted by 'american' US citizenism, long before founding of USA. US 'americans' do not respect integrity of space-time continuumism.
But that is their eternal nature, so go with the flowing ....
LOL
You'll find that the better quality Chinese electronics, etc., come with pretty well perfect English instructions (often with pretty well perfect multilingual instructions), and the "better end" including such giants as Rigol, and Uni-Trend, do make very good, very durable stuff indeed - Rigol contract manufacture for Agilent.
Also it's not particularly good sportsmanship to mock others when you can't do what they do: How many of your mockers are fluent in spoken and written simplified Mandarin? Probably few (if any).
Chinese with influence read ZH too - might be time to consider the longer term consequences of pretty overt xenophobia, mightn't it??
Parrotile, my post was just one in a very long series, posted as a running ZH inside joke, in response to our pet Chinese, and rabidly anti-American, troll member AnAnonymous. I was merely parroting (no pun intended) his writing style and mocking his quasi-autistic, nonsensical, explicitly xenophobic anti-American diatribes, in which he endlessly castigates and condemns EVERY US citizen for the actions of a criminal few in our political and financial oligarchy, in truly mindless and bigoted collectivist fashion. No xenophobia on my part was intended, and longer-time ZH members all recognize that fact.
Yep. That was hilarious!
Not to worry. It takes at least three times to get it right when producing in China. And that's just for sheet metal.
Looks like a scaled down Raptor. Here are some nice clear photos of it. It could be a competitor to the F-35 in certain areas of the world.
http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?t=119400&page=7
They should sell them to Uncle Sam and undercut the F-35 by 66%
F-35 full-rate production is slated for 2019 and current cost is $161 million each. Going by past history, it should be about $270 million by 2019.
This is a good piece from RTRS. earlier this week, about chinese aircraft"engine" technology. Insight: Unable to copy it, China tries building own jet engine | Reuters
Female Chinese engineer works out the bugs:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxyfefIeIEU
Good one Buzz. :-)
They can copy aero engines, as they did with Russian engines, but the U.S. still has a nice lead in engines with economy of operation including hours. The Chinese need to develop, or steal, the metallurgy that GE and PWA have developed over decades. And they are stealing everything they can get their hands on.
As long as 20 years ago, we had briefs on "Watch out for China."
They Smart. Why re-invent the wheel.
Tyler
is this the same one that plummets straight to earth as a new mining technique?
If I were them, I'd start producing A-10 knock offs, because they will be more useful in quashing the biggest threat to their continued survival, which isn't high tech aircraft from without, it's their teeming masses with hundreds of different religions, languages, cultures, and utterly dashed expectations.
The USofA is dead as we knew it, the Europe that we knew is gone, and sorry China, the future you assumed was yours isn't going to be yours. Yes, it's a much smaller world in the rapidly aging world of the 21'st century, and China is just going to have to get over itself and acknowledge that they are in for a beating like the rest of us.
China is reaching critical mass. Don't buy into the hype. When the bubble bursts, the explosion will be felt the most where the fastest money had flocked to, and that is China.
Back to the article: We are about to see how a lot of low tech weapons can beat a smaller number of higher tech weapons, simply because the game is about to change. The next big war is going to include pulse weapons to impair the infrastructure of the enemy. If you can't support your high tech weapons, the enemy who can support what he has at hand wins. Good friggin luck to the Chinese with the J-31. We are going to be getting it on right soon, and these high tech monstrosities are not going to decide the contest.
Piloted attack aircraft and heavy armor are the battleships of the 1980s. Propaganda only. They should build 10 of these and use them at airshows. Then build 200,000 drones for the actual warfighting.
Reminder that those drones are derived from early target drones such as the Ryan Firebee. Drones have yet to face air superiority piloted aircraft, and when they do those drones will revert back to targets.
Unwise to expend $100mil aircraft + at least 1 pilot, to kill a $100K unmanned drone. I would start using drones as decoys to flush out the enemy aircraft.
why risk this when you can just DoS the radios?
Yes. I keep expecting that sooner or later, some grizzled old warrior squatting in a third-world country will figure out a way to take down a drone using $20 worth of tools or simple technology. Head-slap moment. Yes, America enjoys the privilege of murdering with impunity by remote-control. But karma delayed is not karma denied. I cannot help thinking that someday there will be a reckoning.
Ah, what an idea!
We've heard of nothing but antipersonnel and surveillance drones so far.
I wonder what an air superiority drone might look like?
Amen to that. Why train a pilot to sit in an aircraft with a xG limitation, when a drone pilot can withstand unlimited G forces? Stick jockeys are the fletchers and coopers of the 21st century, unnecessary and unable to compete in a changed world.
Can it drop money?
This site just loves to try to slam the US at every turn. So, now, the USA is a military bitch also.
RRRIIIIGGGGHHHTTT.
Only an idiot, or a liar, would equate the condemnation of the American financial and political oligarchies, and their pervasive corruption and innumerable crimes, with an attack on the American people or on the USA itself.
Downarrow for you. Dipshit.
Yes, pirate below:
Yyyyaaaarrrrr!
LOL.
Yea, that has something to do with our military technology and might. I don't give a fuck if you like it or not, it's fact that the US is the dominant superpower of the world.
If you don't like it, suck on it. Nobody gives a fuck what you think.
If you want to talk about the financial corruption going on. That's HARDLY contained to the US.
Chink 'stealth fighter'....oh, fuck, we're doomed.
I think you misinterpret the ZH intent which really looks to unmask stupidity, corruption, cronyism and hypocrisy
the fact a lot of what USA stands for fits this bill is purely circumstantial
No doubt. But, to say they don't blatantly feed the "I hate Amerikkka" retards isn't being honest with yourself.
And here I thought that there was some small, almost infinitesimal chance that you were not actually a total asswipe and complete conformist, pseudo-patriotic, "USA! USA!" pro-establishment drone.
Thanks for clarifying the situation for me.
Well, I accept your hatred.
Unfortunately, that doesn't change the hard facts. The US is still and will be the absolutely dominant military power. Sorry, you're little hissy fit isn't going to change that.
And you revel in that shameful fact, don't you?
Anyway, military powers and empires can and have crumbled with amazing rapidity --- just as the aggressively imperialistic power of the USA is doing today. One can only hope that the ongoing downfall of the USA as the dominant military power does not end up in a police state at home, although that is the logical outcome of current trends.
Like this:

Unfortunately, that doesn't change the hard facts. The Roman Empire is still and will be the absolutely dominant military power. Sorry, you're little hissy fit isn't going to change that.
- Julius Marcus Sextus Magnus Antonius Romulus Maximus, circa 4th century A.D.
Soooo.....wonder how that worked out for them. Hubris always gets paid in the end. You could swap out 'Roman Empire' and insert any number of empires/superpowers throughout recorded history.....and the amazing thing is they all share the same fate. Or is THIS time different?
Absolutely. I was immediately thinking of the Assyrians before the Medes and Persians took the title. Only non-historical difference is the presence of nuclear weapons that could lead to a self-induced extinction-level event. In that case, peoples who are the closest to primitive living skills will be the new superpowers. Go long Australian Aborigenes and North American Inuit!
What's there not to slam? Have you been paying attention to the blatant criminality? The Tylers want what most reasonable people want...some corrupt assholes held accountable. What's wrong with that? As far as the military goes it's pretty relevant to recognize China's ambitions.
Unfortunately, for the super patriotic Constitution lovers among us, the real letdown is to discover that most countries are not real countries, that your vote isn't a vote, and that we all work for the banks. If you consider that slamming the US, I beg to differ. Where are you going to move to escape this? It can't be US bashing if it exists virtually everywhere. Name calling empowers the people that don't care about your country or your people.
I am not going anywhere, and I completely reject the mindset that to criticize is unpatriotic. My patriotism is reserved for the Constitution of the United States of America, and my people, both of which I still have pride in and hope.
Criticizing abuse of the Constitution, the only legitimate basis of power in the country, cannot EVER be regarded as unpatriotic. The reason? Because the Constitution defines what the rules are. It COMPELS your allegience and obedience, or you are the one who is being unpatriotic and critical of your own country.
Bend your knee to the compact between the people and the government, it's called the Constituion of the United States of America. Otherwise, wallow in the jakes with the other dogs that toss their alliegence to whatever smooth talking meglomanic has the attention of the main stream media. That might get you a marginal advantage in this short and tiresome life, but it will surely seal your soul to the pit with the other honorless curs that polute this cesspit we have created.
It's your choice, accept the dog biscuit and the pat on the head, or do the right thing and learn to love the kick to the ribs. I'll take the kick.
First line from my police instruction manual:
"The Constitution is the Organic Fundamental Law of the United States."
(in addition to English Common Law)
You have sworn an oath to defend it, against enemies foreign or domestic.
We are the only state where officers try cases in lower court. My Black's Dictionary is well-thumbed.
We want our Constitution re-flated and Obeyed.
Politicians suck big ones!
Flush the bombers, get the subs in launch mode. We are at DEFCON 1
Get the ICBMs in the bullpen warmed up and ready to fly
Get me the President on the horn
Mr President, we have a situation. Oh. Okay.
Stand down everyone, Prez sayz stand down, we don't want to offend our friends.
Impact. BuBye...
Er, um, those happen to be really bad toys that cause a lot of damage and human misery, but the really bad thing about them is if you use one, everybody else starts using them, and the whole intricate dance that we live within, the zero inventory practices, and the just in time delivery, which leaves everyone with absolutely no surplus because that would'nt be efficient, comes crashing down in the food fight of lobbing nukes at each other.
Is that the show of strength you were referring to? I'm not mocking you, but I know if a stronger country even remotely threatened me, I'd nuke them first. I'm sure you feel differently, and so does everyone else and this wouldn't destroy a vast mechanism of interdependant systems that barely feeds 7 billion people today. I am probably just a weak minded liberal, right?
The truth is the countries with the most advanced systems will be most exposed to the next war. The US has no local agriculture, an antiquated electrical grid, and virtually no local businesses left. My grandfather went bankrupt extending credit to his neighbors during the Depression. Good luck to America relying upon Walmart to help you survive. All of the social safety nets have been swept away and now another crisis is at hand.
Prepare. There's no backup this time.
Also when when we are having computer systems that are not working we will be having a civilization that is being worse than helpless. Many stupids who are making speeches here about the war they will be liking are ignorant.
Like WW1.
Reading a book on its history now.
If one nation mobilizes, the others do, even when they are not at odds.
"The Austrians shouldl be allowed to punish Serbia."
"Yes, but we must also put our forces on alert."
"If we all put our forces on alert, we must go to war."
"Okay."
We probaly gave them the technology to secure another round of debt purchases.
The Chinese seem to be accumulating a lot of things by stealth...
I think you really mean by felch
The banks have been doing this for a long long long time....
The post war British labour goverment gifted the most modern jet engine in the world to Soviets which went into the MIG 15 , helping to keep the Korean war going for 3 long years.

If the pilots are made in China too, it's a "win-win".
Current superpowers always underestimate the next superpower after they sell out to their cheap labor and goods.
China steals shit, not makes shit. I'll be scared when you find me an Asian to be scared of.
May I introduce Mr Buce Lee, Mr Jackie Chan, Mr Jet Lee and finally Japanese Elvis http://www.chineseelvis.com/Resources/whoa1a.jpeg !
Nutsack camel-toe. On Elvis.
We're doomed.
4 more years of Obama, and you'll see J-41 on a carrier.
How are you meaning the stupids words you have been speaking? If the mormon who is having many lies is being elected are you saying he will be stopping China? Will he be stopping the China people by having bombs be dropping on them? Are you having forgetting about when george bush was almost making tears in his eyes when the China people made the American surveillance airplane to almost be crash landing and he was making himself act craven to the Chinese?
NO, NO, NO. We are in a forest fire. The world is aging, everywhere. We put our faith in a perpetual motion machine, that economies can grow forever, even though populations wax and wane. Utterly ridiculous foolishness! Good luck selling me anything. I don't ski anymore, and I have a closet full of clothes with price tags still attached.
China is NOT going to escape the global contraction that is going on right now. In fact, they are more at risk of internal disruption from it than any other country.
This is written in stone. I don't care if they put a man on Mars or build the Millenium Falcon, it's all window dressing. Eleven percent GDP growth? Yeah, right. They wouldn't be opening up 100 year old disputes about irrelevant islands if everything was good on the home front and they didn't need something to distract the people.
In the words of Josh Belushi, "Wise up"
Meh.
When China has a fleet of aircraft carriers and military bases all over the planet I'll worry.
China loans america money to pay for our carriers and bases...maybe Ben will return the favor and print China an empire.
Not just that, they also need a network of solid allied client-states (which they don't have because no one really trusts China, not even Russia) that they can sell these jets to, or else they will not be able to compete with the Allied demand for F-35s, so the F-35 build-up this decade and next will greatly outstrip the number of competing Chinese 5th-Gen attack jets.
Plus quality-control is not exactly China's strong suit, though the PLAAF and its contractors may differ there.
but if the Chinese can't form a cashed-up client-state network all around the world, to sell advanced systems into and thus create allied inter-dependence inertia, then Beijing will never become an actual global superpower. It will remain a large regional-pacific and central-Asian power, at best (hence the wish to depose the USD).
Beijing would have to have confidence that any such client state firstly could pay for them, and second, would have to have a very bad relationship with the west plus not be in danger of collapse or overthrow, so to not go over to the dark-side (i.e. give the Jet to the US to have a look at it's systems and technology).
I suspect that if (when) the US financially collapsed, there may not be another superpower at all to take it's place (nor monopoly money currency regime), and we'll be left with about 5 or so very heavily armed regional powers and trading blocks, with regional reach, but a more limited global capacity.
Great post mate.
The US industrial military complex has become a paper tiger.
http://thinkingaboot.blogspot.ca/2011/08/littoral-ships-fail.html
http://thinkingaboot.blogspot.ca/2011/05/military-industrial-complex-massive.html
Thats not to say by outspending China $140 Billion to one Trillion a year does not keep the US in a superior position. But the waste of the US is not sustainable.
It'll be the 1905-1913 period with multiple power centers, a globalized system of trade that would make war unthinkable, open and secret alliances, a declining super power trying to deflect a rising power, and a small but rising power beating a larger power in a fight. All that's missing is an archduke and a man with a mission.
no worries... china is a defensive country, always has been like that throughout the history........... unlike the usa.
Somehow I don't think its quite so easy to create a F-22 knock off.
It may look like a "stealth plane" but I bet it doesn't fly like one.
Why bother to overcome obstacles when you can just steal them from dumb greedy American sucker CEOs? I bet they just love that globalist agenda!
does it even cruze over mach 1
That'll happen when you spend 15 years saying you're aiming for total air dominance.
The US knew 20 years ago that they'd be fighting the Chinese in 30-40 years. That is why the US wants to control Eurasia, to islolate China. All very nice, these Chinese new gadgets but they don't have operational experience with aircraft carriers and stealth fighters/bombers. The Chinese are betting on assymetrical warfare so they need to pump up the amount of military hardware. Technology and the ability to use it though will be the deciding factor.
Dead wrong! These jets will have five iPad cockpit displays with 6 rows of icons!
Beat that you capitalist running-dogs!!!!
Not to mention the pilot's automatic toilet tube, which allows him to strafe Chinese roadsides with his own self-generated apres-Szechuan-chicken "Hellfire BM" missiles.
I said bomber! ... BOMBER!!
NOT bummer!
- An Anon Air Marshall of the Peoples's Liberation Army Air Force
Chinese crap .... F-35, the proud product of LOCK*MART will dominate the skies all over the world . Especially if accompanied with some F-4 Phantoms weaponized with the ducktape, case the Mighty Fighter starts loosing the wings ....
Blah blah blah. They've got high speed trains, too, I've been told. Sometimes they even run!
I question anything that comes from a country that has about 40 cars per thousand people.
All I can say is we underestimate all of this at our own peril. Let us not forget our bankster-puppet oligarchs have been sending our 21st century forces to fight 'stone-age goat-herders' in the mountains of Opiumlanistan for over 10 years....and as far as I know we've not exactly 'won'. It was also this 21st century force which was surprised by a Chinese diesel/hybrid(?) attack-sub surfacing in the middle of a modern carrier group conducting exercises....completely undetected until it did so.
The Chinese are masters of thinking long-term and practicing deception. Anyone who buys the coolie-hat toothy-grinned slanty-eyed peasant stereotype is playing right into their hands.
On a side note, I love how so many of us talk shit about the loan-sharks who currently keep our broken system temporarily afloat to a degree. Surely that's a good move.
"The Chinese are masters of thinking long-term and practicing deception."
LOL - you make them sound like "coolie-hat, toothy-grinned, slanty-eyed" Zionists.
Any "New World Order" founded on a platform of deception is to be fought. Deception is not a tool of God, Allah, Vishnu, Gaia, nor even of a faceless, Godless Universe.
Deception is the favored tool to practice evil intent. Deceivers are the only real enemy of peace.
I'll be in Chengdu 8 weeks from now. I'll be looking from the roof top for the new jets. Considering the smog I'll probaly hear and not see.
In the first cold war, one of the main "enablers" that propagated the continued gamesmanship was that fact that the Russian, American, and Israeli spies were all predominantly white caucasian men and women...
It will be interesting to see how China will be able to effectively plant spies in the US in the event that stress levels continue to increase between the two...
Once xenophobia takes root in the west and anyone of Asian descent becomes suspect, things will get rather wierd, and will probably trend in very unfavorable directions.
And, if China thinks that its "new" partnership with Russia will allow them to outsource their on-the ground intelligence gathering, then all China will be doing is paying Russia to collect Russia's intelligence. Anyone who thinks Russia would willingly share any strategic intelligence with China obviously has not studied how the Allies were organized in WWII.
The far better option on the table is for the caucasian west to just throw their hands up and say "OK China, sure- let's do a gold standard" and nip this thing in the bud...
You mean anyone of ORIENTAL descent.
You do realize that Israelis and Russians are Asians too, don't you?
You might want to reference a world map or globe --- the Orient is only a part of the continent of Asia, not its entirety.
Excellent execution from the "take an example of non-optimized word choice and use it to form a baseless tangential argument" playbook...
Congratulations on your new strawman. I applaud you for your irrelevent tangential argument forming superiority, sir....
Point conceeded - ATTENTION, Anyone else reading my post above: Please substitute "oriental" for "asian" in the sentence referenced by Akak, the uber-awesome supreme editor of ZeroHedge...
Now, can you explain to me if Cherokee people are allowed to be called Indians...?
