Americans Aged 18-29 Have A More Favorable Response To Socialism Than To Capitalism
In the prior post, we showed a presentation that looked at America from the perspective of a corporation and how it would be completely unsustainable. Luckily, there is little probability that America will ever have anything to do with S-Corp status, and far more likely end up as an agrarian Kolhoz. The reason: based on a Pew survey of America's youth, or those aged 18-29, more have a positive view response toward Socialism than they do toward Capitalism. We will leave it at that.
Socialism: 49% Positive / 43% Negative:
And Capitalism: 46% Positive / 47% Negative:

Go peddle your horse piss elsewhere, chief. You are 100% free to create some socialist/communist/fascist utopia, so long as you are able to do so without pointing your gun, or the guns of gummint, at other people
That's one long winded strawman.
Good luck to you too.
Corporate prisons are one of the biggest abominations ever foisted upon us.
End The FED
Ever try to explain to a socialism advocate that it amounts to wonton violence against innocent people? They don't want to hear it. How could anyone not want to help somebody? They never understand that the underlying principle is institutionalized violence against those that have never hurt anyone. In a truly free society where the law only targets theft, violence, theft by fraud, and coercion... the only way you can get rich is by helping people via voluntary transactions.
This is not a new or unusual phenomenon - to roughly quote Winston Churchill: "If you're not a liberal when you are 20 you have no heart. And if you are not a conservative by the time you are 40 you have no brains!"
if the individual cannot make a decision (please note it's not a 'right' but their own determination) to retain their own earnings, but it is involuntarily taken (taxed) from him/her by some collective ideal of the greater good then that is neither freedom nor democracy
if you don't pay tax you are criminalised ...but it is your money
a recent CNBC interview with an IRS official called these people "cheats" and that they were putting out on others to pay their fair share if they didn't.
You can't get more twisted than thinking you have a devine right to others money and that you're cheating society out of your money to be spent on others
Yep! You should hear the radio commercials here in California supporting Prop 30, the increase in taxes on the already overtaxed top 15% that pay 85% of the state's taxes. We've got the Governor, Jerry Brown narrating the commercial: ""the plan asks the wealthiest to pay their fair share." ...
I love the wording "asks", as if the wealthiest had a right to refuse, because when the State Government taxes you even more, they're not fucking asking, they're fucking taking!
and if you're not an alcoholic by 50, you're not a journalist
You're either a socialist or you're a 'hater'.
yes for sure i hate socialists
if they didn't have the memory of a Goldfish and totted up the carnage they've done across the globe they would too
Exactly. I'd like to see a time-series on this one.
There were plenty of Che t-shirts in the hallways in high school. At 45, not so much.
Lenin also said, "But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao, You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow." Imagine that.
He also said:
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world
And it got him shot in the head.
Karma deluxe
(Living in the Dakota, talking abot sharing.... Jesus...)
Y'all got the right guy but the wrong Lenin. John spelled his name Lennon. Vladimir had no such thoughts!
Yeah, I think it's a play on words. :)
2 hypocritical homonyms
John maybe, but Vlad not only believed his Socialist, Communistic ideology, he used it to conquer most of Asia. John just said his piece and stayed stoned.
Next thing you'll be telling me that Friedrich Engels never partnered with Groucho Marx in Vaudeville.
He shot Engels while in his pajamas. How Engels got in his pajamas is one of the mysteries of vaudeville ;-)
That one cracked me up. Well done.
It's ALL just a fuckig act... eh?
As Walt Whitman (also a New Yorker) said: "Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes."
The other Lennon ;-)
He kissed and made up according to some before he passed.

Kooo kooo kachoo.
I mentioned the word "Imagine" in my post as an oblique effort at irony.
One day Lennon was complaining to an Apple staffer about his cash flow problems. The staffer said, "Remember, John, imagine no possessions." Lennon replied, "It's only a fucking song!"
And all this time I thought the title of that tune was "It's Only a Northern Song".
That's a good one but Hey Bulldog (also from YS) is an often overlooked classic. Very cool video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57jdgNKwdRs
And McCarthy sang " Hey Jewed"
Shut the fuck up Donny, you're out of your element.
This thread does not stop and start on your whims.
Sounds like buncha Bolshevik!
Phew Charitable Trusts... founded by Joseph Newton Pew, founder of Sunoco.
If you like your fascism re-branded as socialism, you're in the right place. Fabianism behind the mask, another rip in the Constitutional fabric...
...all is going according to plan.
Ever since the geriatric billionaires paid for a billion lies the youth have been against the concept. So, you know where to cast blame now.
Every young man is a liberal if it is not so, he does not have a heart. Every old man is a conservative if it is not so he does not have a brain.
New brown shirts?
All young people want money for nothing and chicks for free
What do they know.........
It’s understandable, since they have never been allowed to experience the benefits of living in a free capitalist society and have been tricked into believing that this elite financialist dominated redistributive American collective we live in today is capitalist.
Know what?
They grew up spoiled little fucks so they think like mummy and popsie, somebody must take care of the temporal shit in life.
And once growing up, mopsie and popsie is gone.
They have no clue under the sun what socialism and capitalism are. Most have never had a business, economics or even current affairs class let alone even balance a fucking check book. Never even paid taxes, filled in a 1040 themselves.
Pass the iPad.
Like their iPads, they have no souls.
They don't care
They've been brainwashed in the Propaganda Educational System of The Politically Correct Uber-Leftist Indoctrination Machine. (Capitalism, bad, share and share alike, good)
See what else you can add, I'm getting disgusted ....
Depressing
Plus, we live in a Socialistic system geared to benefit the powers that be, for shit's sake... Redistribution to the rich, for the rich, by the rich
Which the leftist propaganda machine says is capitalism... and bad... and failing
i don't recall the Brown Shirts getting the girl actually. Do Americans want Socialism? They want the mailman...is it too much to ask? No? Yes? We can't even do that anymore? i mean "i didn't know she died...six years ago" can be a harrowing thought indeed. "still she was a wonderful mummy" is not suppose to be a joke either...even if it makes you laugh. wanting for your electricity to come back on does not make you a Socialist. Asking for the Subway to run PERIOD does not make you a Socialist! Asking "what happened to the money, asshole" does not make you a socialist. I do agree however..."Connecticut got a win this time." It appears to be the only surviving Mass Transit system into Manhattan...although ironically enough the LIRR appears no worse for wear and that thing is as old fashioned as it gets. ah, the Mayor of New York who loves to lord over former railroads. i find it hard to believe that some of that derbis from 9/11 couldn't have been used to create a "protective barrier" of some sort. not even a fire truck? really? hello..."that's why they call them pumping stations"! anywho...the people of New York already know this...not saying anything they don't already know about their City. And who am i? "The guy who hates that place more than anyone" is what i'm told. "the guy who doesn't care about the people down there." yeah, that's me all right. more like Mr. "what's this gonna cost"? at least everyone has free transportation for couple of days. God help us if the New York City subway system is permanently disabled however...
Freedom is a choice, slavery is a choice as well.
Free will is free will.
It is not at all unusual that people would vote to be enslaved.
If Obama wins it's not because of Obama, it's because people want to be enslaved. Obama is a product of America, it's not vice versa.
Every country deserve its leader. If Obama wins, americans deserve him.
True, but incomplete. A better term would be Obamney.
And if Romney wins it's six of one and half a dozen of another.
Crockett I have a question for you. I leave the historical and philosophical aspect to guys like you. So I am throwing this out there to anyone really. Take my situation out here. Not me per say, but NY, NJ etc. If Ron Paul were pres and this storm nailed us.... There would be no FEMA right? Which means that essentially it would be up to individuals to to chip in right? More importantly RP would make it clear that while we should all strive to help our fellow man, building homes on beach front property does not mean that others subsidize your malinvestment right? So it would be a bitter pill for a lot to swallow, but the lesson would actually be learned...is that about right?
Ron Paul would stop the government from blocking recovery with measures such as price controls. If folks need gas and food let those who can provide it charge as much as they can get. Then more trucks will show up and they'll get what they can get but as the supply increases prices will sink back toward normal. Why short circuit the best motivation that merchants and transportation workers have to enter into a difficult and dangerous area -- the profit motive? That's just one example, but so many of the things which government does to supposedly help the little guy actually hurts the little guy.
As James Ostrowski wrote today, "Contrary to what politicians such as Romney, Gary Johnson, Obama and Chris Christie would say, it's during emergencies when you need liberty the most."
http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/124861.html
So I walk across the street to my local gas station at 6am today (to your point). I did not need gas but wanted a coffee. My guy was the only one left in the neighborhood open. He was tellng me since no one was around "This is bullshit, I am getting overrun here and am going to just shut down". He then made a joke about the price of gas going down when no one had any. So I asked him how much he charges for a cup of water. He said "nothing, take one for free". So I said how much would you charge for that glass if we were standing in the middle of the desert? Crickets. Finally he gets it. He says "well there is nothing I can do, If I hiked the price up huge I would get into trouble". So instead no one got any gas. To your point about dangerous, one driver started threatening him as I was leaving. I heard him yelling "I don't need this shit". We have another week or two of this ahead of us. I walked past about 50 cars lined up at 6am that were about to realize they were SOL.
That's about the size of it. I hope everything works out well for you soon. Your post yesterday about the ironic woman who yelled at you was priceless. I even mentioned it in conversation today.
Ha, Thanks man, one tip for anyone who ends up in a similar position, we all may know gold is money, but cash is still king right now.
There was no FEMA before Carter...it was implemented on April Fools Day by Executive Fiat (er, Order) by the way.
Just sayin...it can be done by the states. Now days its just a photo op for federal vote pandering.
It took two weeks for Obama to go to Joplin Missouri...two days for NYC.
But there ain't no Obama voters in Joplin so, oh wait, now I get it
If the slaves are feed, who will pick the cotton?
Indeed, after the slaves are feed, the cotton must be picked by the slave eaters.
If we had known the result we would have picked our own, damn, cotton!
To be enslaved is a choice EKM. Sometimes you just have to lay the wood! Hows the frost in those A/C units?
If there's frost it means that there's not enough air flow going through the coil. Typical when the filters are clogged.
Change Filters.
Socialism is culturally cooler than capitalism unfortunately..
my politics at 18 was never popular...
Free shit for everyone was the mantra for popularity.
Capitalism means personal responsibility, competition, and hard work.
Socialism means you get something for nothing and entitlements. It is your God given right to get free food (food stamps), free condoms, free birth control pills, etc.
So socialism is ok for trivial unimportant stuff like the military defense of the USA or its police and fire service, but its not serious enough for anything else.
O'really?
"Socialism is culturally cooler than capitalism unfortunately.."
...especially with $100k in student loans I guess.
Capitalism is plenty hip.
I'm a capitalist, baby. Up yours, Ratso!

Pike: Don't call me baby!
I don't see why anyone would be surprised. Captialism, supple beast that it is, has crawled under the rocks until the storm passes (which could take decades).
Meanwhile, state socialism heroic stands aginst the cruel winds of reality, until, of course, dumpster-diving becomes a useful skill set.
They're hooked on parents, that's why.
That's pay rents.
Your fine public edecational institutions at work. I don't have the strength to fix the spelling error.
We are so fucked.
Only if we are lucky
Public schools with marxist teachers' unions; incessant MSM uber-left disinformation and propaganda; assholes like Krugman and Reich as "elite" thinkers. WTF should we expect?
it wouldn't be capitalism if more than 49% were happy with it
As Churchill said: "If you aren't liberal when you're young you have no heart. If you aren't conservative when you're old you have no head."
Hotlips -- His mother was American, you know.
Frank -- So was mine.
His mother was also of the Hebrew clan.
I imagined Bugs saying this and chuckled.
"The problem with Socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people's money." Margaret Thatcher
Capitalism, what is that? Not in America, folks. Cronyism and oligarchies raping you day and night at least since 1913. Obama is as much a "socialist" as Hitler was a national-"socialist".
Good question. What is capitalism?
No one alive today in the US has ever lived with free-market capitalism. So how could anyone actually know what it is?
On the other hand, all Americans know we live in a free country. Free housing, free food, free education, free health care, free ... Everything, or almost everything, is free if you know how to work the system.
But there's a difference if you live for free in the ghetto or for free at a Central Park address. All depends who you know and how well you "work" that system. Real WELLfare is only for those who live WELL off it.
Sun Tsu. "One who knows the enemy and knows himself will not be in danger in a hundred battles."
except for being fleeced by Goldman Sach's and JP Morgan
Call me shocked! What else could we expect with th epublic education (indoctrination) system we have put in place over the last fifty years.
There is only one 'ism' that isn't prone to corruption.
ANARCHISM
simple really.
Unless street gangs and ethnic mafias count. And political strong men.
Personally, I'm a big fan of
NARCISSISM.
(Just not in other people.)
Freedom is just another word for, nothing left to loose. Most cannot conceive of freedom in it's truest sense. It exists in the mind as pure free thought. Though my body is shackled, my thoughts will forever be my own.
That's the hippy-dippy definition of freedom. Real freedom is about self ownership and property rights.
Both of you are correct- Freedom has different meaning to different folks . . .
Having nothing left to lose is not freedom. I used to jam to that tune in the bad old days. It's bullshit.
Is that some kind of metaphor for an untied shoelace?
It's just a simple spelling error.
It should read, "Nothing left too loose."
The i-submit age group. Born in the concrete jungle, with one full time working, part-time parent.
Thank God I went to school back in the dark ages.
The problem is what these kids think is Capitalism is in reality Fascism.
Look at the world they grew up in.
You can see why they maight feel that way
The problem is that what you refer to as capitalism inexhorably turns into cronyism and then fascism once you factor in the basic human drive to become the chief and to achieve control of everything and everyone around you.
That is the same reason that theoretical socialism never works in reality.
"From each according to their gullibility, to each according to their greed".
Describes both systems equally well.
That's because when they think of capitalism they think of bank bailouts and corruption, which is actually crony-capitalism. I can't think of anybody who isn't for true capitalism where banks/business are actually allowed to fail when insolvent.
Thinking back to when I was that age, when Lincoln was president, I really didn't give a lot of thought to capitalism, socialism or communism. The only 'ism' I was concerned with jism and its effects on the female figure.
This isn't really a surprise considering we have seen the current current system labelled as capitalism fuck things up beyond all repair in our lifetime (spoken as someone under 30).
Considering how pathetic the schools systems the younger generations have had to go through are, it's hard to put all the blame on them when news like this comes out. Anybody with half a brain could see that we don't have a free market capitalistic system when you look at how the corporations have bought out government and make up the rules. When someone hears that this is capitalism for their whole life and then realize their prospect for having a life better than their parents generations when they get out of school, of course they are going to have a negative view of it.
Instead of all the hate towards the younger generation, what about a piece on the complete fucking hypocrisy of the generations that came before us that supposedly have a negative view of socialism while voting over and over for politicians that do nothing but implement socialist policies?
[...] When someone hears that this is capitalism for their whole life and then realize THEY HAVE BEEN LIED TO AND BEEN TAKEN FOR GRANTED BY THE LIARS ILK - they will get pissed and get EVEN. Give it time. Age has got nothing to do with it. Many middle aged men and oldtimers have learned a whole 'nother side to the story that they didn't hear when they put their backs out, played by the rules and got royally fucked over when the music stopped and the elite stole everything in broad daylight.
Don't even engage in this stupid socialism vs. capitalism debate. They steal, we suffer. If they don't share their loot, we take it. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
24, (Anarcho)Capitalist
They've been trained to believe that bailouts, a laxical view towards pollution and financial laws, and being treated like consumers instead of citizens are capitalism. In reality they're socialism. But my generation seems incapable of being taught that fact after 12 years of direct government propaganda.
Yes. I find that a lot of my generational cohorts (young-mid 20s), many of whom I would consider fairly intelligent, seem incapable of understanding free market capitalism. All we have ever been taught (formally) is that the government has to be heavily involved in industry; lest we revert to some sort of lawless, wild west-type society wherein the corporations (dirty word) unceasingly take advantage of the citizenry. It is a sad state of affairs.
what would've been really interesting is if those polled had to give a definition of each.
And each polled had to decide just how fucking much of their personal treasure they'd be willing to relinquish in exchange for said system.
The math wouldn't work.
An Inconvenient Truth, Math is....
Fuck this...
I'm gonna curl up with a good Book of Revelations tonight
Something entertaining and futuristic

Never heard that before.
I'm going to look into it.

So ever true.
I knew a MGySgt was fond of that line...
What do you think Armageddon is? You familiar with the Judeo-Christian mythologies?
Come Judgment Day, the righteous are all rewarded with the paradise that is Heaven in a world of perfection, AFTER the forces of evil are defeated by God during that last battle.
I'm not disputing the conclusion. But you really have to ask yourself just how much personal treasure most of the 18-29 crowd even has these days. There aren't that many things in Mom's basement that haven't already been returned for the deposit.
Hell, I'm so old I can remember when any 18-29 year old with roughly half a brain could find all kinds of so-so jobs and start a life. But now, most of us Boomers are clinging tenaciously to those fine careers at the big box store.
They'll have to pry this greeter's smock out of my cold, dead fingers.
Yeah, such a poll is based on presumed stereotypes, that are totally BULLSHIT BASED. There has NOT been any "free markets" or "capitalism" for a long, long time, IF EVER ... Similarly, all the other "isms" are deliberate BULLSHIT, perfected by people who do NOT WANT to talk about the social facts. The actual system is PLUTOCRACY. Every other "ism" becomes a foil, or a disguise, or a distraction away from the overwhelming actual domination of the PLUTOCRACY.
The PLUTOCRACY today is way, way worse than any previous plutocracy. By definition, "plutocracy" is supposed to be government by the wealthy. However, the greatest "wealth" that exists today is the power to make money out of nothing. We have a privatized, fiat money-as-debt system, which is the legalized counterfeiting that everyone is forced to accept by the government.
That privatized fiat money-as-debt system is our state religion. That reality overwhelms and subverts all other "isms" to render them ridiculous! Since the vast majority of people were the victims of systematic brainwashing by their schools and mass media, which specialized in lying by omission, the CENTRAL social facts tend not to be known, or deliberately ignored by most people. There is an army of think tanks, run by teachers that are effectively paid to be professional liars and immaculate hypocrites, whose job it is to talk about liberalism, or conservatism, or socialism, or capitalism, in ways that are TOTAL BULLSHIT, because they deliberately ignore the PLUTOCRACY.
Both fascism and socialism end up being used to advance the agenda of the plutocracy. So does libertarianism, and every other "ism" that I am aware of! Especially our current state religion form of plutocracy is ORGANIZED LIES OPERATING ORGANIZED ROBBERY. I ask the rhetorical question, what happens to "capitalism" or to "socialism" AFTER you add runaway frauds and murders, legalized by governments, to be directed for the benefit of a tiny elite, that has the power to make endless fiat money, out of nothing, that everyone else is forced to pay interest on, then compound interest upon, for the rest of their lives? What happens to any idealistic "ism" AFTER you face the fact that the real world is operated by fraud, backed by force? The real system is due to the triumph of organized crime, covertly controlling governments, and thereby everything else, and thus, relentlessly brainwashing and conditioning the entire population to NOT know the most important things that they should know.
Anyway, therefore, an opinion poll like this only reveals how totally deluded most youths are by their fake education, and the mass media. Indeed, the majority of the comments posted, even on Zero Hedge, continue to reveal that most of the older people still also believe in bullshit "isms." The frequency of understanding the plutocracy problem is way higher amongst Zero Hedge readers than the average population, but not enough to make any real difference to the bigger picture, except to become more aware that we are being fucked, without any practical ways to do anything to stop that.
Youth today inherit the later phases of being born into debt slavery. The younger you are, the more you are being lied to, cheated and robbed by the political system you were born into. Those being born today are actually being born into a debt insanity situation! Youths may intuitively know that, but surely do not understand it. Therefore, it is not a surprise that a stupid opinion poll like this gets stupid responses!
Another reason to close all colleges.
Seriously...
They're almost all gonna be living at home and flipping burgers anyway.
This is not a temporary condition, folks.

Doesn't make sense.

Gonna be flipping burgers, mate
If I was in your class you'd have my full attention.
I hope your not the ass hole my brother in law took the class from at the university of chicago that when asked how he trades responded that he never has traded
Those that can do those that cant teach
I told my brother in law he should have dropped the class instantly since this teacher was full of shit
When qualified, the students trade futuires, bonds, stocks, options, and I am trying to figureout how to do swaps with minimal adult supervision............. it is by chance the best trading program in the USA .... Anybody know of a public university where the students trade futures in real time ............... with monimal supervision?
If so I want to talk to the people that run it................

You get " Fly Paper-ed" to Z/H... What is the latest quote on Alaskan Pine? I JUNKED YOU, for lying.
Can you blame them when all they have seen in their young lives is an oligarchy of crony capitalism?
And, the only jobs that they have had are low pay or part time where the tax chunk is maybe around 28 bucks. So they probably think, Yea I'll donate 20$ a week for the foodstamp guys. If they had seen the tax bite out of say a 2500 to 3000 dollar check or ones like we made where the difference of 110 hr weeks and 67 hour weeks was 25 bucks more and the govt stealing all the rest they might have a different view.
Cant earn enough to work your way through college like the 60s or even support yourself on todays pay. So yes I see their point, Give me my Govt Cheese bitch.
Que Margaret Thatcher's everyone elses money quote.
I think the real news of this little survey is the overwhelmingly negative reaction to the word "socialism" by those aged 65 and older.
You know - the age group that benefits most from "social" programs in this country.
Oh, well. No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the Amerikkkan people, now did one?
I'll take socialism over capitalism, and I'll certainly take it over corporatism - which is basically what we have now.
But then, socialism only helps those that are real humans, not inhumane non-humans such as corporations, or Mitt Romney.
We have various splinters of the makemescream media grabbing words that have an emotional charge, then kicking the shit out of them for a few years. How the hell does anybody who isn't tuned into ZH and other alternative mindsets supposed to even understand what the words Socialism or Capitalism really mean?
Way too many words have just become straw men with more baggage than Kim Kardasian on a trip to wherever the hell that bitch goes on trips.
No need to change anything, there's a "safety net" and, don't worry - "that's what it's there for" - Reeeeeeeeee programmed!
Don't worry, this is common for young people. They quickly grow out of that youthful socialism. Life experience teaches you that capitalism is the going thing. I know of few people over 30 who are looking with favor on Cuba and North Korea as good economic models for their economic futures.
Though it appears that in the US North East right now, people are screaming bloody murder for more socialism. Like government can wave a magic wand and make a storms damage go away in two days!
I threw my wife out of the house for being born with a silver spoon in her mouth and believing that liberalism/socialism through big government was a good idea. When i came home and tried to discuss real business issues she refused to even listen and responded that i just needed to work harder. That was thepoint i discovered that liberalism/socialism is a mental disorder that no amount of common sense explaination can fix
the only fix is the school of hard knockswhen trying to live in a crony capitalist society
If my kids start believing socialism is a viable alternative political system i will have to throw myself out of the house because i failed as a role model and parent
ps i HATE teachers unions and what they have done to destroy public school education
There are so many more variables involved than just "the unions". They are but one part of the matrix fucking up society and "education".
sounds like you're building quite the happy home:-(
Half of all marital problems can be seen in a mirror.
CNN plays into this mindset with their bleeding heart articles about how "badly" this age group has it.. Bull Chits they probably don't remember the 1970s-early 1980s or the early 1990s..
But seriously, the parents are to blame along with the bleeding heart media always implying that somehow the world revolves around them and they are owed a job, a college education at a top school, the latest tech gadgets etc.. without having to lift a finger to work for them or actually earn it.
And this comment:
And, the only jobs that they have had are low pay or part time where the tax chunk is maybe around 28 bucks.
Well, maybe that is all that they are qualified for?? Like I said, a high paying job isn't a right or entitlement.. Why is it that practically generation before this coddled gen y group that we are constantly reading bleeding heart BS about understood this?
Yeah because people think what caused the crash is capitalism. And because people are ignorant thanks to a decade + of global warming propaganda/big oil = capitalism = bad...
What caused the crash? I thought it was bankers trading mispriced paper assets.
To be fair, about half of the 18-29 year olds just thought Socialism meant "being social"
capitalism ina regulatory environment is socialism for the oligarchic class. or maybe it's just the gin talking
It's clearly because they live at home on thier parents dime. The purest form of socialism......
isnt that why we need more guns
The 18-29 year olds are the ones the other age groups are expecting to pay for everything.
Whatever the other age groups are for ... the 18-29 year olds are against it.
I'll tell ya somethiing else you wannabe JP Morgan fucks ... when they come for you ... you better run. They're gonna rip yr intestines out and feed them to the dogs ... while you are still alive.
Steve. You must be 18-29 yrs old. There's some schmucks between 30-50 (and that's a lot of people) that have been working for up to 35 years paying in to a lieing, fucked-up system and that have actual life experience. The 18-29 y.o. set is, sadly, clueless for the most part and harmless. Having said that, 4 out of the 5 people that I'm going to hire for a new business are in that age range. But, they are exceptional for their age. Over-educated for what I need them for but energetic and enthusiastic and flexible. It's the middle of the jelly donut that's pissed off and hopefully will start the next revolution (with some young, stringy backup).
Despite whatever you've paid, the debt continues to grow. It's been growing rather quickly for over 30 years--it really got started when "cut taxes/increase spending" became the government's solution to all problems.
Who do you think is going to be paying on that debt after you retire?
Socialism: The Utopia of the underachiever! A similar poll was done that described countries by their economic, political, and social aspects without revealing the names of those countries. Respondents were asked to choose where they would like to live most. Who won? Sweden.
God help us all.
somewhat OT but applies: looking at some of the Sandy pics, the video of the guy running around with the horse head on... one of the horsemen... Had to laugh. But then it's always funny. until. it's. not!
Obama better get some gas tankers to New Jersey in a hell of a hurry or he is going to be murdered at the polls! We all know government is in charge of gas delivery, just like in the old Soviet Union. Man, when I was there in 1982 I could always fill up! Plenty of gas, just NO cars.
Speaking of socialism, would Goldman Sachs shaking down Uncle Sam for billions when AIG failed count? Sachs, they are around today because the socialist government feed their failed business model tens of billions of other people's money. We could say that for many other bastions of capitalism. Remember the Privatize Profits, Socialize Losses policy after the 2008 crash. America has plenty of real socialist policies. I just note that people tend to bash the ones that go to the bottom and ignore the massive hand outs to the elites in the financial sector.
Damn. The Unleaded at my favorite station has dropped 60 cents a gallon in the past week and a half. I'm guessing that big oil really likes what Obama has been paid to do for them in the next 4 years.
Interesting variation on the obama wants high gas prices meme.
