Ron Paul: A New Beginning

Tyler Durden's picture

From Ron Paul

Ron Paul: A New Beginning

America is over $16 trillion in debt. The “official” unemployment rate still hovers around 8%.

Our federal government claims the right to spy on American citizens, indefinitely detain them, and even assassinate them without trial.

Domestic drones fly over the country for civilian surveillance.

Twelve million fewer Americans voted in 2012 than in 2008, yet political pundits scratch their heads.

It’s not hard to see why, though.

To go along with endorsing a never-ending policy of bailouts, “stimulus packages,” and foreign military adventurism, the establishment of neither major party questions the assaults on Americans’ liberties I’ve named above.

As my campaign showed, the American people are fed up. Many realized heading into Tuesday that regardless of who won the presidential election, the status quo would be the real victor.

GOP leadership is now questioning why they didn’t perform better.

They’re looking at demographic changes in the United States and implying minorities can only be brought into the party by loudly advocating for abandoning what little remains of their limited government platform and endorsing more statist policies.

My presidential campaign proved that standing for freedom brings people together.

Liberty is popular – regardless of race, religion, or creed.

As long as the GOP establishment continues to not only reject the liberty message, but actively drive away the young, diverse coalition that supports those principles, it will see results similar to Tuesday’s outcome.

A renewed respect for liberty is the only way forward for the Republican Party and for our country.

I urge all my Republican colleagues to join the liberty movement in fighting for a brighter future.

I work with people from all corners of the globe in my meaningless government job in a country at the bottom of the world (I consider myself lucky).  I studied finance at University however now, I would rather lick chewbacca's ball sac than place 1 lousy dime in the non-market.  When I talk to my colleagues about how financially rheemed the world is at present, they look at me with blank faces.  They wave their Camp Obama Hope flags "all up in my business" as I try to explain to them that his administration is gifting "toilet licking maggot" banks 85 billion USD's a month.  I ask them "what kind of hope do you see in giving to the rich what has been raped from the poor?" They say "NO... he won a Nobel Peace Prize, has a little dog and he can tie a Windsor knot".  I wonder how on earth has the financial system not completely shat itself already.  The answer becomes obvious at lunchtime when I look around the table. No one is talking.  The majority are too busy trying to "out-status" their 2346 cyber-friends with meaningless acronym horse-shit. The rest are ramming McGarbage into their sweaty faces as fast as their double chins will allow them.  The vast majority of people I know are utterly and completely oblivious as to what is happening.  They are all drowning in a debt-frenzied swimming pool of Chinese made crap. I mean for christs sake, the press here is still wanking all over the "Kim Dot Com" saga day in, day out... Jesus!! We are screwed!

This is gonna hit us like a freight train.  Like waking up wondering "What the fuck", only to realise that the fat hairy, heaving Indian man lying next to you has just had his way with what is left of your weeping, rashed and aching anus.

A little too little and a little too late. If he had said this a year and a half ago and actually gone Galt on the Repubs that would have been a statement.

Now? It just sounds empty. nice hollow words. I mean, is he suggesting secession? If not, how? What liberty movement?  Personal liberty as all good libertarians know is intrinsic, god-given, birth-rghteous.

So what Liberty movement Dr. Paul? Guns and Gold? Are you suggesting breaking away from the system? Starving the beast or playing with it?

Highly disingenuous rhetoric.

If had run independently, he might even have had a chance. But he is a party man in the end, little as people here like to acknowledge it, because no one like being had.

Had he run as an independent he would not have participated in any debates (of any importance) and they would have found ways to keep him off the ballot.  The Machine has all the money, power, and controls what passes today as journalists.  He has been going toe to toe with them for decades, what more do you want?

See my post below for starters.

Is one hell of a machine.  Is quite possible that he was already at the extents of what he could say or do without getting thrown overboard.  Today though, there really are enough people who "get it" that a unscripted act might actually serve to make the invisbible hand a tad opaque for a moment.  THAT would be a step forward in my opinion.

I like RP, but you are largely right ORI.  This is another verbal game of patty cake.

Still has me scratching my head really.  If he REALLY knows what is up, I would think he could have gamed the system somehow or tossed a few shots over the fence to let folks know.  Instead, he played it right up the middle hoping that circumstances would speak for themselves more loudly this time around.  That is odd to me.  He ought to know the machine is built to marginalize, even demonize, those who stray from the script.  Circumstances clearly gave him a bigger edge than ever before - but that alone was not going to change anything... nor is this.

Still hoping for more out of RP.

Have you ever listened to his talks in person (or better yet, small groups or one-on-one)?

He really does know what's up. When I spoke with him during the 2008 race, he was open with his belief that the economy was going to collapse, and with that the government transformed as well, though he chose his words very carefully. If you ask him what his mission is, he'll repeat something he frequently says in all sorts of venues, including the release above -- he beleives his mission is to spread the liberty message. By far one of the most important things to him during his runs was getting into the presidential debates to get his message out, and he really wasn't under any illusion they'd play fair if he was doing well, though I think he was a bit surprised to what depths they went to stop him, particularly the primaries and the stunt at the convention to prevent him from speaking.

All of this demonstrates both his position and that of TPTB trying to keep him from being seen is that it's a battle of ideas, and not so much votes.

The RNC dirty tricks in iowa, Nevada, Maine, and everywhere else are one thing. Rand Paul's betrayeal of his father is another. Ol' Ron is, well... old. But I find it inexplicable that RP's campaign collapsed, just when he was ready to turn the convention into the ultimate mass-cage fight. But we don't know the whole story. Something happenned, and we'll probably never knoiw what it was. The theory that RP just gave up at the critical moment fits only if one thinks he's one of the evil Masons, on a predetermined couse to derail the GOp and re-elect BO. The other theory is that he was threatened BY the GOP. I prefer the second, but like I said, we'll never know.

The real reason he quit active campaigning was he ran out of money. Period. I supported him and believe strongly in (most) of his views but at his age he wasn't going to be another one of these failed candidates that leave millions of $ in campaign debt all over the country. It's immoral and not something he would do. And as much as I love the message, he was pulling an average of 10% in primary campaigns involving Republicans. Republicans are 34% of the electorate. Do the math, that's 3.4% of the total voter pool. Sure, he did better in caucus states but that's because the intensity of his support played out better with the smaller caucus turnout. His message is out there as a possible solution once things degerate further. Which they will. Most of us have to accept that the average american won't give up on this kamikaze course until it all blows up. Just like the Japanese during WW2. The country is set on a course and they are along for the ride. 2008-2009 was Hiroshima, the next one will be Nagasaki.

Not that I have anything against you, indi.. but I feel compelled to say that this country has been invaded (yes, invaded) by foreign born people who WANT this massive, murderous, machine. A shit-ton of us are trying to fight back, but my real point is that it's not us.. it's the outsiders; people not from our country; and in the case of or illustrious president, a person who spent his formative years in another country learning everything "bad" about America. Or rather, why America is bad for the bad guys.  So it's foreigners, gaining citizenship, who insist on bringing their culture with them and insist on making this country like the one they left.  It would be as if I came to your house, became part of your family and started re-decorating to make it look like my house and changed the value system of your family by forcing mine.

If you want to make a difference, kindly tell those mother fuckers to stay the fuck out my country if they want to do that. If you want to come here, you come here and YOU ASSIMILATE. Become American or go the fuck back to what ever shit-hole, gov't controlling, country you came from.

I was born here.. and my grand parents came here to ESCAPE the burden of gov't. On top of that they INSISTED that we all spoke english at home and in public.  Those were very different times, my friend. Times where people came here to escape and start new and WANTED to be American. Now, it's nothing like that.

I've heard that argument a brazillion times.. it's an old and tired argument and it just doesn't work with me. This is a war we are in and the winner gets to call it. If the leeches win, they get the trophy of calling history. That's how it always works and has worked since the beginning of time.

Foreigners succeeded in subverting freedom and liberty by bringing their socialist belief system with them. After 200 years, America has attained a love of government nearly equal to that of Europe.

There may be brief periods of government retrenchment, but nothing is going to bring small government to America again.

The only way to reestablish freedom and liberty in the modern world is the Jewish method: use intelligence and abilities to influence the general public.

Unless you have a lot of time, it's best to do this in a small population country, like Chile or New Zealand.

He's done great things, and has brought the ideas of the liberty movement to enough people that he should be allowed to step back now and watch the show. He's done enough and deserves to just be happy and live his life, not have to answer to or earn back the respect of people who are disappointed that he didn't do what they wanted him to do. My god.

yeah, that's always been the part I get stuck on, the Libertarian putting forth the Sanctity of Life Bill proposals every other year. . . I mean, I know these CongressCritters play volleyball with these bills - like the Weather Modification ones K.Bailey Hutchison and her pal Olympia Snow take turns pushing around.

so they just keep those bills "alive" and add bits of different wordage over time. . . pretty fascinating to see how they grow their agenda. . .

and Ron Paul's volleyball was Sanctity of Life, he keep that one alive for years,

The Sanctity of Life Act was a bill first introduced in the United States House of Representatives by Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX) on July 20, 1995, and cosponsored by Rep. Barbara Cubin (R-WY). It was reintroduced with similar text by Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) in 2005 in the 109th United States Congress,[1]110th United States Congress,[2][3]111th United States Congress,[4] and the 112th United States Congress.[5] The repeatedly introduced bill sparked advocacy from pro-life activists and opposition from pro-choice activists.[6]

and of course, the Rand son will continue the legacy, but meanwhile, so did the other "Paul" - Paul Ryan, who added some more interesting clawbacks - well, hell, of course - we're talking gov't here, that's what they do, they make LAWS, right?  so Paul Ryan's version, that's a hoot, I'll let you decide through your own web-search who might be the most accurate in their interpretations, but one thing for sure, it's yet another step in the direction of controlling a women's womb, the rights to make decisions about her own body, trumped by the State.  Ryan's floating enforced pregnancy even in case of rape and incest, we'll see how much shit that stirs up, over time.

it's how these politicians work though, stealth, lies, pretense, false labels, misdirection - they keep their agenda alive over time, manipulating the media until it seems a natural thing to acquiesce to, this loss of sovereignty - and for women, body sovereignty.

apparently it all got rollin' with the RayGun!

"Far from being extreme, Congressman Ryan has picked up the mantle of President Ronald Reagan in his support for a congressional declaration of personhood," commented Gualberto Garcia Jones, J.D.  "We are hopeful that as Ronald Reagan did before him, Congressman Ryan will use his position of influence to advocate uncompromisingly for the dignity and full legal personhood of the preborn."

so yeah, all the Conservative Repubs keeping that bill alive, just doing their part for the system that works against the people.  over time.

You may not realize how many oldish Californians and Arizonans are already planning to retire to Mexico, where food costs half (or less) what it costs here, and the living is easy. Retiring boomers are also trickling into Panama, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Nicaragua, and some of the cheaper parts of Europe. The trickle will swell to a flood.

It wasn't the (not really existent) free-stuff brigade that put the knife in Ron Paul.  It was the neo-cons, Christian jihadis, Israel lobby, and Wall Street.  It happened in the Republican primaries, remember.

Ron Paul would have been a tough sell because he is eccentric and his libertarian principles abruptly disappear when it comes to reproductive freedom.  But a credible and truly libertarian and economic-naitonalist candidate would do well, better than Romney.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. That means that when government gets involved and breaks it own laws there can be no more society

RE: Lordbyroniv

CAPITAL WILL LEAVE TO WHERE IT IS TREATED BETTER.

I am really tired for this old argument. Can we admit what should be obvious to all.

- In order for CAPITAL to leave, it has to be assured that it is protected in its new place. Capital has been protected by the blood and hard work of all American generations, especially those that have sacrificed in the military through 2 World Wars.

- US military provides the "protection" which , allows the US TBTF banks and multinationals to take capital anywhere in the world and make a profit all under the protection of our boys and girls in uniform.

- Uncle sugar through Bennie and his jets is also the protector of everyones captial on the planet through moneytary swaps, futures, etc.

SO PLEASE - DONT GIVE THE BS of "CAPITAL WILL LEAVE TO WHERE IT IS TREATED BETTER."

Very fiew capitalist entities would survive on this planet, were it not for the US. Out country is in the protection racket and business. Capital (regardles of its national origin,) does not move without this implicit guarantee of protection.

It's time to love the fellow man in the original way and not the internet-twisted way. We need to believe enough that liberty should mean something for everyone, even if they are from some other country or have a different color of skin. And we need to put people into office who aren't there as a cult of personality or as a grab for power. We had neither of those choices this time. We can do better. We have to do better...if this country is still standing in four years.

Failing that, let's all move to Texas, secede from the USSA, and have Ron Paul as Prez with Kyle Bass second in line.

Many people devoted hundreds of hours and thousands of $$$ so that we could finally witness Ron penning an article for his sheeple? Fabulous... He was running for the President of the United States. He won Iowa. But didn't contest the states that he probably also won. His own son stabbed him in the back by supporting Romney. Jesse Benton was a traitor and joined forces to betray him. He said nothing. He did nothing.

He was a man of words. He knew what the Federal Reserve was really up to. He knew that there was NEVER going to be a real audit. He never had a meaningful bill passed in the entire time of his tenure. I like the man. I think that he has great integrity. I think that he believed his purpose was to educate the people, but NEVER to reach a point where any ACTION would become of his beliefs.

When he saw that there truly was a groundswell of positive and emotive force that could result in an actual revolutionary change in the political landscape in this once Republic - he shrank from it and HE did indeed run, elblows flaying in the wind. Some may believe that the PTBs put a bullet to his head or his family. A real man would stand from the rooftops and declare the truth. Your founders did. Is that not what you want from a true leader? Instead of excuses?

Better than a traitorous Rand Paul in my opinion.

Ron was a man of words. Then the words became silent. Now he's out with the words again, now that the game is over...

I wanted to believe.

ALAMO

LMAO

ori

Edit: Brief...bribery, slavery, exploitative capitalist land grab.

"Beginning in the early 19th century, Anglo settlers from the U.S. began illegally crossing into Texas--setting up farms and plantations on Mexican land. The slaveowners in the Southern U.S. constantly needed new land to expand into. Northwest Mexico (what is now the U.S. Southwest) looked very promising to them. The northern capitalists were also eyeing this area for opening trade to the western region of the continent and as a source of minerals.

Sensing a threat from the U.S., the Spanish government tried to control Anglo-American immigration. Mexico won independence from Spain in 1821 and the new government followed a policy of allowing Anglo-Americans to settle. They were given land grants--provided they became Mexican citizens and converted to Catholicism. By 1835, Texas had about 35,000 inhabitants--both Anglo immigrants and Tejanos (Mexican people born in Texas). The Anglo immigrants outnumbered Tejanos 6 to 1.

Then the Mexican government abolished slavery--and the Anglo slaveowners and their allies rose up in a reactionary war to tear Texas away from Mexico. They put out a call for Americans to come to their aid-- promising to give mercenaries free land."

It's nothing like the Palestinians. Nothing.

The flag that flew over the Alamo was a Mexican flag. And they weren't demanding independence they were demanding the government respect the rights given them in the Mexican constitution of 1824. It became a fight for independence when General Antonio de Santa Anna began massacring Texans to 'put down' the rebellion.

When my tribe arrived in Galveston over one hundred years ago they learned two new languages, English & Spanish. Spanish was spoken here first and English arrived with white settlers on Mexican land grants. Both have been spoken here ever since.

Plenty of folks, including some of my neighbors, through willful ignorance or otherwise claim Texas Independence as a white man victory over the Mexicans. A ridiculous notion. Just as many Hispanic Texan Heroes as Caucasians.

I'm a Texas bohunk. I speak English & Spanish.

Land Grab + Slavery play. All the heroes (Davy Crockoshit and his ilk, merceneires all)...

On March 6, 1836, the Mexican Army, commanded by the president of Mexico, General Antonio López de Santa Anna, retook the Alamo, killing all 182 Texan defenders. All but nine of them were Anglo invaders--many (like the land speculator Davy Crockett) who had just recently arrived in Texas as mercenaries. Jim Bowie (another "hero" of the Alamo) was a despicable slave trader and slave smuggler. The commander of the Anglos was Colonel Travis, another mercenary.

Six weeks after the fall of the Alamo, the Anglo forces surprised the Mexican Army at the Battle of San Jacinto. In that battle, the Texans shouted "Remember the Alamo" to justify their bloody revenge and massacre. General Santa Anna was captured. In return for having his life spared, Santa Anna signed a treaty recognizing Texas' independence.

One of the first official acts of the new "Republic of Texas" was to legalize slavery. In 1845 Texas was admitted into the United States as a slave state, and soon joined the Southern slave Confederacy in the U.S. Civil War.

The Mexicans shouldn't have tried to disarm the Texans.

The Mexicans should have realized that inviting Americans into Texas, whether they nominally adopted Catholicism or not, was a losing play long term. They thought they'd profit but they ended up with a total loss. And so go the unintended consequences when governments attempt to regulate the acts of masses of men.

It was Spanish territory before it was Mexican, and it was various Indian tribes before the spanish took it from them...

"The USA stole Texas from the Mexicans, who stole it from Spain, who stole it from the Comanches, who stole it from the Apaches, who stole it from the Caddo and Karankawa.....blah, blah, blah."

No one ever owned Texas. People are born on the land, people die, and they disappear into the land again. Get over it.

the Bush family might have other plans for "your" state - George P. Bush, Hispanic, is setting his sights,

Raised in Florida, Bush decided to settle in Texas, home to his uncle and his grandfather, former President George H.W. Bush. He runs a consulting firm and has been active in Republican Party outreach to college students. He's also the co-founder of Hispanic Republicans of Texas, a group that seeks to elect Hispanic candidates.

Ana Navarro, who was the national Hispanic co-chairwoman for John McCain when he ran for president in 2008, tweeted her enthusiasm Thursday.

"Wrote check for my friend, (at)georgepbush newly formed exploratory committee for office in TX. Young, pragmatic, Hispanic, just what GOP needs," Navarro's tweet read.

"Texas aint the place for limp wristed little boys."

You've got to be outta your mind. You're ex-president had homosexual Jeff Gannon visit him dozens of items entertaining his pole while in the White House making it more white. In college he was a male cheerleader smoking more poles. As a Canadian I go down to Texaco and watch the slobs try and climb into their make-believe trucks, tuck their blubber-guts behind steering wheels to poke their way to the next all-you-can eat buffet. Manly? I don't think so.

Time for the shoot-em-um range. Sure, blotto vs blubber battling a pretend enemy over a pretend constitution over some watered down Budweiser.

Give me a break.

Amurka is dead.

It is a Corporation. Face it fast. You are cattle at birth once you have a birth certificate. Your states are incorporated. You are incorporated. You live in a fascist incorporated corporate institution.

Canada is a Parliamentary Socialist State

Take your pick

But admit that Texas and the MAJORITY of its male citizens are NOT masculine. They have been femininized like most of the rest of the males in the country. Three days in the wild and they would not know how to survive. Period.

Why don't you stay at home and fix your own problems there? Why don't you secede where you stand? How's running to Texas going to solve anything? What in the world makes people think secession is easy?

There are no laws or treaties in place that explicitly allow for Texas to secede. Let me say that again in the general case... there is no law on the books which either allows or forbids secession of any state in the Union. If that happens, regardless of which state, we'll be back to where we were during the Civil War... political will and military force determining who stays and who's allowed to leave. The results will not be peaceful or pretty.

No one is getting out easy so you may as well lay those grand schemes to rest. It would be a breath of fresh air if all the Constitution "experts" on this board actually took the time to read and understand it. They would quickly notice the lack of any explicit wording around the topics of secession and readmission. Talk of secession is a "get out your guns" moment and you can quickly find yourself labeled a traitor and terrorist. Despite all the big talk here I can guarantee the vast majority of folks do not want or need that shit in their lives. Don't hold your breath waiting for any secession movement in the USA to be anything worth worrying about. Texas is not ready to secede in any way shape or form despite claims to the contrary.

Well said all around PTS. This is all just more inflammatory rhetoric. Words, words, words.

Would Texas let border towns seceed fromt eh State if they felt like being a part of the US? Who would define the borders.

But there is a strange precedent in India, CIA funded of course, when Sikh extremist elements were funded to create a Sikh 9Independent) homeland in the heart of India. Of course it failed. What a dumb Idia, that a nation would allow a hostile state right in it's heart.

Dumb talk. I like your point about where you stand.
