"This removes half the fiscal cliff"... been choomin again bumma?

redpill's picture

Funny how it's easy to get a "majority" of people to agree to raise taxes on someone other than them.

earnyermoney's picture

hope the "other than them" get hammered by the ATM BK mentioned in his article.

This proposal to extend the Bush tax cuts only on income under $250,000 would still increase the deficit by about $223 billion next year. Which will increase the annual deficit from $1.1 Trillion to $1.323 Trillion. It does nothing to address the fundamental fiscal issues which we are faced with.

What a joke!!!

I agree. GOLD will be 12k, the dollar zero, unemployment 100%..8 mo years!

Can someone please ask Obama why he isn't giving 100% of his Presidential income to pay down the deficit if he believes in paying "his fair share."  I mean after all, he has a pension already.  Deferring his Presidential salary which is funded by the taxpayers seems reasonable.

Lewshine's picture

In case you haven't notice our President is a minority, and for the sake of all that is good, you should no better than to ask a po black man to divy up his share, that might end up on the table of the white middleclass who are up to their eyeballs in profitable opportunities!! What the hell's wrong with you boy??

Nancy Pelosi's got his back:

Surrounded by most of the 61 female members of the House — both the newly elected and old-timers — Ms. Pelosi took a slow windup, extolling the virtues of women in office, before explaining her decision.

“I have made the decision, that some of you may have some interest in, in order to continue work in empowering women, to making sure that our Affordable Care Act is enforced in a way to make sure that being a woman is no longer a pre-existing condition,” she said. “I have made a decision to submit my name to my colleagues to once again serve as Democratic House leader.”

Christ, no wonder all 50 states have secession petitions posted.

*grabs for barf bag*

CaptainObvious's picture

Can't let go of the reins of power once they're in her hot little mummified hands, can she?  I don't think there's a woman on the planet who inspires more hatred in my soul.

Gimme one of those spare barf bags, willya?

redpill's picture

Right, because women can't be empowered if they don't have free birth control.

Fucking lunatics.

Cow's picture

That's a whole $9/month.  Don't get crazy

redpill's picture

If it's so cheap they can buy it themselves then.  I don't go to work every day to sponsor carefree moocher fuckfests.  Fucking pay for your own fucking fucking.  Fuck!

blunderdog's picture

If it were available over the counter, it would be reasonable for health-insurance not to cover it.

But since the pill is a prescription drug,  there's a good logic that it be covered the same way blood-pressure meds or Viagra are.

It may be better to make the pill available OTC, for sure.  Would you support that?  One big advantage would be that teen girls wouldn't need parental permission to get it anymore...

redpill's picture

You can't even get half decent cold medicine without showing ID anymore, I don't think underage girls trying to buy birth control pills will be a problem.  The government doesn't need to tell insurance companies what to cover and what not to.  This clusterfuck we call a health care system is the product of their regulation, and more intrusion will not help.

blunderdog's picture

The government doesn't need to tell insurance companies what to cover and what not to.

Well, sure, but you're changing the subject.  I'd like Medicare to be ended too, but until someone starts having an adult conversation on that point, you're going to see a lot of bullshit while the insurers and the political puppets rearrange the deck chairs.

I'm interested in your answer to the question, though--it sounds like you'd be in favor of making the pill OTC.  Is that correct?

catacl1sm's picture

You act like the pill is the ONLY form of birth prevention. There are condoms, IUD's, the shot, oral, and anal. And condoms are cheap. The last two are free.

blunderdog's picture

You don't seem to understand the issue.  I "act like" people are whining about health-insurers being forced to pay for contraception that requires a prescription.  That would *include* Norplant and IUD, but not condoms or diaphragms or whatever you can pick up anywhere.

You may want to re-read my comments to understand the context a bit better and see if you can figure out why you got so confused about what I was saying.

I don't really think most of the folks who are whining truly care at all about whether the health-insurers pay for contraception--that's just a (not very convincing) cover-story.

I think it's just one issue picked at random because Rush Limbaugh made a big to-do about it on his radio show.  If it were a sincere gripe about government forcing insurers to help pay for folks who wanted to have sex, there'd be the same outcry about Viagra and all the other sorts of "medical" treatments for sexual performance.

Dawnofinsanity's picture

In Canada we consider any condition a medical condition and therefore encourage people to get any kind of prescription, it's the way the doctors can afford trips to resorts for a 1 day brainwashing...Surely there is minimal costs associated with attending a physician but there is a reason why the drug manufacturers in the US are sitting at the borders with drool showering the ground.  Mr. Harper will let them in soon to profitably assist our nation.

The end result of our small city of 200,000 is more morphine and oxycontin overdoses than alcohol related deaths.  And it's not because we our responsible and don't drink and drive... It's a great model to follow!

blunderdog's picture

The end result of our small city of 200,000 is more morphine and oxycontin overdoses than alcohol related deaths.

Well, obviously that's a HUGE problem, considering those overdoses aren't killing the victims.  We're never going to breed narcotic addiction out of the population if we keep rescuing these dumbasses.

Maybe when the paramedics show up, they should just report that the blue dude is obviously going out happy, and then just call the coroner.  It'll save on retirement costs, too.

I've read a lot of your posts and I like them, you seem to be a pretty smart guy. But you are wrong on this. You DO go to work every day to sponsor carefree moocher fuckfests. You also go to work to sponsor Mongolian clusterfucks and sporadic monkey fucking the football fuckfests.

Get used to it. It's only gonna get worse till it all collapses. Make sure when the dust clears your still on your feet.
