Israel Releases Another Aistrike Video As It Prepares To Send Troops Into Gaza Strip

Tyler Durden's picture

Update: the following tweet from Israel's ambassador to the US, Michael Oren, will hardly help: "ALERT: Tel Aviv area was just hit by a rocket attack from #Gaza"

Despite having lost its prominent headline position in the global media, the things in Gaza are going from bad to worse with news reports that Israeli ground forces are preparing to enter the Gaza Strip which will take the confrontation to an effective ground war level, even as a separate news report claims that Egypt has now closed its border with Israel, in yet another escalation. It is unclear how soon until Egypt also halts gas supplies to Israel as it did back in April - we assume not too long. So as the world awaits the next major step in a conflict that has a Katyusha rocket's chance in the Iron Dome of going away on its own, we present the latest clip provided by the handy, if oddly boastful, Israeli Defense Forces, this time showing how a rocket warehouse in Gaza just became one with the ether. Tangentially, and once again, we can't help but lament how a Plan X involving the US military would be an option here, if only the entire US military and intelligence hadn't become a gonzo reality TV show virtually overnight.

"Just hours before Israel assassinated Hamas commander Ahmed Jabari on Tuesday, he received the draft proposal of a permanent truce agreement with Israel. But Israel approved the airstrike anyways, choosing escalation over resolution.

Israeli peace activist Gershon Baskin, who helped negotiate the release of Gilad Shalit and maintained contacts with Hamas leaders, said the truce agreement included protocols for maintaining a cease-fire in the case of cross-border violence between Israel and Gaza."

It was a set up. Get a clue. More important it demonstrates that just like our country, the government "over there"  repeatedly blurs the line between terrorist and protector and takes on reckless self defeating military strategies that not only endanger their citizens more but are designed to do so. It then exploits this to manipulate, placate, and subjugate its own people. All in  the interest of resource. All in the interest of power.  Read some history

Hamas had any opportunity in the world to stop the violence.

Alas, it fired houndreds of rockets and missles into Israel just in the past couple of weeks, with an escalation clip (larger numbers of rockets by the day).

Jabari made an amazing job hiding his interest in a truce!

“Here in Gaza, more than 10 people have been killed so far in the Israeli operation named “Pillar of Defense” within the last 7 hours, including countless children such as 7-year-old child Ranan Arafat and an 11 month old baby. We’ve seen charred bodies of dead and injured children pouring in to Al Shifa hospital of Gaza City and the other depleted hospitals around the Gaza Strip. There have been 50 airstrikes all over the Gaza Strip so far. Deafening explosions shook us all, as bombs landed close to us in the streets near the Universities. Huge explosions are landing all around us in Gaza City as I write, some entire families have been injured. We can also hear the shelling of Israeli Gunships. (The Israeli war machine will announce)… a possible Israeli land invasion very soon”… a fear fueled by Israeli leaders dropping leaflets in North Gaza warning of an imminent overland invasion."

Can we forget about 9/11 for once? Yes, I said it. Israel is killing people in Gaza right now. I'm always struck by how Americans can obsess about 9/11 and see that day of infamy in its own somber light while ignoring the fact the we and our allies bring that same kind of pain to somebody somewhere every single day.

I don't disagree with your point.   My hope would be that Americans could wake up and realize that we are all becoming Palestinians now.   True, they are directly on the front lines and have been for decades.  But this is all part of the same narrative, and they are not just some brown people people with nothing in common with Americans...  but for geographical location, they are you and I.  They live in a gulag, and every day in the U.S.A., our  gulag is being constructed... and the sheeple slumber on.   9/11 was the event that put this process in overdrive.  9/11 is also the event that can help people realize that they are being lied to...

The Russian government has already spoken out against the Israeli violence that started this latest round of killing in Gaza...   But we all know how the U.S. government will play this...  more sympathy for the aggressor.

JERUSALEM -- Nonstop barrages of rocket and mortar fire from the Gaza Strip killed three Israelis on Thursday as their nation's forces continued to target militants in the coastal area for the second day.

Since Israel launched Operation Pillar of Defense to suppress rocket fire from the coastal strip, 220 more projectiles have been fired from Gaza into Israel. On Thursday morning, one hit a residential building in the town of Kiryat Malachi, tearing through two adjacent apartments on the fourth floor, killing a couple in one unit and a young woman in the other.

it seems that colonizing others' lands comes with risks...  Sephardic Jews, Palestinians and Christians lived very peacefully in Palestine prior to the waves of European zionist colonizers.   Perhaps if the government of Isreal would do more than pay empty lip service to peace and actually recognize its own borders, Palestinians and the world might take them seriously.

unless I forget my history Israel seized the land it now holds after being attacked numerous times such as the 67 and 1973 and other wars....when you have 4 or more nations launch  assaults on you and these same 4 nations lose ground after losing the war - I think that is the way it is done in the rest of the world...

Most nations on earth have some land/territory that was acquired through military conflict...some of this land was settled and conquered long ago, some more recently...Why is it that only Israel has to give up what it has won?

You weren't taught history - you were taught propaganda.

Not specific to Israel, of course, but then it's the only culture with a myth about being favored by a God who also "gave" them certain already occupied real estate, but couldn't actually 'give' it to them, merely say he was cool with genocide.

Have you read the Jewish holy books at all - Deuteronomy, Joshua?  How fucked up is it that in their "holy book" you have exhortations to genocide.

I mean, no offense, True Believers, but the Old Testament/Torah seems to me to have very little to do with what that nice fictional character in the 'New Testament' said.

How on earth can anyone read both books of the bible and think the same god were behind both?

The Old Testament seems more authored by what Christians tend to call "Satan" doesn't it - what with all the killing and raping and incest and genocide and racism and hate>?

And if you point it out, of course, you're an 'anti-semite' - which is what Ziofascists say when racists say fake shit and when secular humanists speak the truth.

These people have been going at each other for over 5,000 years. And it's just not Jews and Palestinians. It's Arab against Arab for the most part (I speak of the region as a whole). The Arab culture is a tribal based culture, and never-ending low level conflict is a part of that culture, as it is in most tribal based cultures.

No matter who you are, if you are there, you get shot at eventually. Hell, they even killed Jesus for going around preaching peace, tolerance, turning the other cheek and all. Can't have any of that going on, can we.

Jordan should stop reacting to the carrot and stick and do the right thing. I certainly wouldn't like it if I lost my ancestral home over geopolitics and the wrangling of superpowers. Of course such problems are endemic to governments everywhere. Real borders are defined by private property lines. Political lines which demark regions of life and death do not serve the average man.

Perhaps you know:  Did the multitude of tribes throughout Greater Arabia and Palestine claim property rights for their tribes during the last 3,000 years or so?  I know Abraham was considered wealthy.  But he moved around a lot, so I'm guessing that his wealth came in the form of animals and other moveable objects, not land ownership with defensible borders.  I'm wondering if that was also the case with the Arabian tribes.

I have no idea. I'm advocating a path toward an anarcho-capitailst, voluntaryist world. Some will get it, others won't. But that won't stop me from hoping that all men at least have an opportunity to live peaceful and prosperous lives. Seems like a goal any good Christian could get behind.

I think you're relying on fairy tales instead of history books.

I think you'll find that the following is more accurate as to the facts, if, I'll grant you, fairly biased in how said facts are presented:

A wise man once said, 'facts are stubborn things.'

What the pro-Israel-right-or-wrong PR Leviathan does, therefore, is simply dissemble and obfuscate.

It won't do to have the children of Holocaust survivors presented as the lying, stealing, murding cunts they're to a large extent become in pursuit of a 'homeland' the Turks and Romans had longer, more archaeologically substantiated sovereignty over.

But then, I don't believe the Bible is anything but loosely historical fiction, and the 'chosen people' myth - apart from being silly and absurd - was really always about justifying the unjustifiable.

Read Joshua and Deuteronomy then tell me why modern Ashkenazi Jews are more entitled to the land than the descendents of people who've lived on it for many hundreds of years.

Meh, don't get me wrong - the Israelis are there now and I don't think anyone deserves to be killed for reasons of nationalism, religion, or legal fictions or culture and tradition.

As Doug Stanhope once noted - culture and tradition are dead people's baggage - stop carrying it.

Also - Arabized Palestinians, the natives, are likely more related to the ancient 'Israelites' - certainly the Canaanites - than the Ashkenazi.

But I suppose people who go to a holy book they wrote themselves for justification don't really give a shit about alternative views of the historical record.

Funny how little evidence, outside the Bible, there is for.. stuff in the Bible, though, eh?

... culture and tradition are dead people's baggage ...

I doubt there is a person alive who is not motivated by culture and tradition.  Very few people are comfortable believing that they are not connected to some thing or some one.  Humans, for the most part, are pack animals (wanting to be members of a pack).

Funny how little evidence, outside the Bible, there is for.. stuff in the Bible,

That statement is not useful without us knowing how much research you've actually done re. the evidence supporting things in the Bible.  Most of what we know about history before the camera was invented comes to us in the form of writing - derived from oral history.  If you are going to doubt oral and written history (e.g., the Talmud, not part of the Bible), there is a lot more to be questioned about history than just the Bible.

Actually, there is quite a lot of historical fact in the Bible backed up by archeological evidence and ancient records. The philosophical and religeous aspects are certainly open to confirmation, but quite a lot of confirmed history is in Bible.

And a grandnewphew of Richard Bissell, and a wife who is descended from Gen. Cabell.

And Director Mueller's complicity in quashing the investigation into the connections between the BCCI and the Bush #1 White House?

Thu, 11/15/2012 - 14:29 | 2984862's picture

Yep. The most deadly terrorist attack to this day in Palestine/Israel was the Zionist bombing of the King David Hotel in 1946. The Israelis see the attack as having been commendable.

Via Haaretz in Israel:

The terror attack on the King David Hotel in Jerusalem was in its day the equivalent of the Twin Towers; yesterday was its 60th anniversary. There are two historic plaques at the hotel, one of whose wings was used by the British Mandate authority. On one of the plaques, which has been hanging there for some time, a few words note the terror attack: "On July 22, 1946, the Etzel underground bombed the southern wing." The action is attributed to Etzel alone, but there is no condemnation. "Underground" generally has a positive connotation.

The new plaque identifies the perpetrators of the attack as "Etzel fighters." It's important for them to emphasize that they acted "under orders from the Hebrew rebel movement," in other words, the Hagannah, among others

The British government is demanding the plaque's removal. Her Majesty's ambassador and the consul have written to the mayor of Jerusalem that such an act of terror cannot be honored, even if it was preceded by a warning. To this day, it is not clear what made the bombing's planners believe the British would evacuate the building. Would Benjamin Netanyahu, as prime minister, have ordered his bureau evacuated on the basis of telephone threat from a Palestinian terror group?

Netanyahu spoke at the conference. The difference between a terrorist operation and a legitimate military action is expressed, he said, in the fact that the terrorists intend to harm civilians whereas legitimate combatants try to avoid that. According to that theory, the kidnapping of an Israeli soldier by a Palestinian organization is a legitimate military operation, and the bombing of Dresden, Hanoi, Haifa or Beirut is a war crime. Of course this is not what Netanyahu meant. He learned only this from the bombing of the hotel: that the Arabs are bad and we are good. Arab actions starting in 1920 and through the Iranian nuclear plan reflect, in his words, "a terrorist mentality." Israel, on the other hand, only harms civilians by accident or when there is no alternative. For example, when terrorists hide among civilians.

The historic truth is different: In the 60 years since the attack at the King David Hotel, Israel has hurt some two million civilians, including 750,000 who lost their homes in 1948, another quarter million Palestinians who were forced to leave the West Bank in the Six-Day War and hundreds of thousands of Egyptian civilians who were expelled from the cities along the Suez Canal during the War of Attrition. And now tens of thousands of Lebanese villagers are being forced to abandon their homes, and air force pilots are once again bombing Beirut and other cities. Hundreds of civilians have been killed. Regrettably. It's all in the spirit of the King David Hotel. One can always say there was a mishap.

The Nation that is under fire in this Gaza conflict is none other than the United States; because the direction America is now taking – siding with the warden of a prison camp who has decided to shoot the prisoners – is the direction to Hell.

It’s because of the Zionist domination in the Obama Administration, the regulatory agencies, the foreign policy departments, the Federal Reserve banking system, and the leadership of the Congress that America has entered an era not unlike the complicity that brought about Castro’s Communist revolution, Mao’s Communist takeover of China and the Bolshevik Communist revolution in Russia.

Here are interest facts concerning “Who Started It?” :

Bloodbath in Gaza| Who Started It?

An excerpt from  PATRICK HIGGIN’s article today on Counterpunch today:

For days now, Israel has been launching aerial attacks on Gaza, resulting in many dead and many injured. The attacks are part of a larger and massively depressing spectacle of a usurping colony forcing a population into a wall-enclosed ghetto and bombing them in the name of Judaism and the Jews…

At the end of his presidency, George W. Bush** justified Operation Cast Lead—Israel’s massacre of around 1,400 Palestinians—by saying Hamas started it by breaking a ceasefire with rocket fire.

First of all, that was never even true. Israel broke the ceasefire on November 4th, 2008, when it raided the Gaza Strip and killed six Hamas members. The raid was reported by the Guardian at the time. The event wasn’t really mentioned in the mainstream discussion of the U.S., which reveals something about the predominant U.S. attitude towards Israel and Gaza.

Supporters of Israel often brag about how Israel “withdrew” from Gaza, as if Gaza’s transition from formally occupied territory to open-air prison constituted a grand Israeli peace effort. But Israel breaches Gazan territory at will and becomes quite pestered when it’s met with resistance for doing so. This is perhaps unexceptional. Israel’s sponsor, the United States, similarly believes it owns everything and can do what it likes to whatever territories at any time. Just think of its vast drone network, always busy murdering civilians in places from Pakistan to Yemen…

Actually, the Zionists have been dominating the US behind the scenes since WW I.  And they, in particular Chaim Weizman, promised Churchill that if they would promise Palestine to the Zionists, they could assure America's entry into the war to save Britian's and France's butts!

Not to mention that in the run-up, the American (Zionist controlled) papers ran a headline that stated:  "Judea declares war on Germany".

Some not-so-taught little facts of history.  Wonder why?  lol
