Israel Releases Another Aistrike Video As It Prepares To Send Troops Into Gaza Strip

Tyler Durden's picture

Update: the following tweet from Israel's ambassador to the US, Michael Oren, will hardly help: "ALERT: Tel Aviv area was just hit by a rocket attack from #Gaza"

Despite having lost its prominent headline position in the global media, the things in Gaza are going from bad to worse with news reports that Israeli ground forces are preparing to enter the Gaza Strip which will take the confrontation to an effective ground war level, even as a separate news report claims that Egypt has now closed its border with Israel, in yet another escalation. It is unclear how soon until Egypt also halts gas supplies to Israel as it did back in April - we assume not too long. So as the world awaits the next major step in a conflict that has a Katyusha rocket's chance in the Iron Dome of going away on its own, we present the latest clip provided by the handy, if oddly boastful, Israeli Defense Forces, this time showing how a rocket warehouse in Gaza just became one with the ether. Tangentially, and once again, we can't help but lament how a Plan X involving the US military would be an option here, if only the entire US military and intelligence hadn't become a gonzo reality TV show virtually overnight.

"we can't help but lament how a Plan X involving the US military would be an option here"

Um, nope.  Sorry, 'Tyler' - no one who joins the US military does it to fight for Israel against the natives expelled out of Arab towns and villages who are regularly hit by Israeli airstrikes and live under seige conditions.

This isn't to say Hamas and the handful of more extreme 'militant' groups are justified in lobbing bottle rockets at civilians - but the Jews seem to have little problem justifying airstrikes (that never fail to kill women and children) in response to rocket attacks that killed no one, which were in response to airstrikes and targetted killings by the US taxpayer funded IDF.

In short, while one wishes that both Jews and Muslims could justify their religions by working hard for an enduring peace, in the interim, neither Israel nor Palestine is worth one drop of American blood.

In 10 years there will be no more Kissinger.

Israel, however, will still be around, will have outright annexed 'Samaria and Judea,' will have further entrenched an apartheid regime there, will continue, along with its 5th column in the US, to successfully smear anyone calling it what it is as 'antisemites,' will be happily continuing to take US taxpayer money, spy relentlessly on the US, sell its tech to China, and will be sitting in Lebanon and the Sinai and maybe a slice of Syria.

It's called 'Eretz Israel,' bitches - and it has been the plan all along.

I could give a fuck.  I just object to their determination to use American [largely black, latino and Celtic] blood and treasure to do it.

But the American people have been so brainwashed they don't notice how much undue influence pro-Israel types have.

If you don't know who Chas Freeman was, you might do some lunchtime googling.

That shit was amazing. Fall of Rome level 5th column treachery, but as George Carlin might have said - 'nobody seems to notice; nobody seems to care.'

By no means do I think Hamas are the good guys, nor that Israel is totally unreasonable here - but everyone should be concerned and aware of just how much our corporate media gives us the same essentially one-sided, pre-packaged narrative.  For goodness sake, it's almost as if Israel itself had major, if not necessarily predominant control of the bulk of US news media.

But that can't be.

Nope, they are just taking out their foes sequencially. First Syria, then Hamas and the PLO (biggest threat due to geographic location), next will come Hezbollah, and then the big show, Iran.

The big trick is to keep Egypt neutral through all this while Israel attempts to fundamentally change the ballance of power in the region.

Something to be said here if you clear through the sarcasm. This could be phase 2 of the campaign against Iran. Phase 1 was to neutrlize Syria (done). Phase 2 will be to neutralize the threat from Gaza and the West Bank (proceeding). Phase 3 is to neutralize the Hezbolla threat from Southern Lebanon (planned). Phase 4 is to attack Iran without threats from Hamas and Hezbola to the home front.

They have to get through phases 2 and 3 while still keeping Egypt neutral, however. If Egypt does intervene, they will have to take care of that problem first, delaying the attack on Iran.

So, is this game on?

Thu, 11/15/2012 - 15:15 | 2985112 rocketroj

It is game on.  The Commander Explosion and other videos will eventually incite Lebanon to attack thereby giving Israel a better excuse for dismembering Hezbollah.   What will Iran do when Israel skewers and burns the flesh off of Nasrallah in a public square in Lebanon?

My guess is they will be forced to act or appear impotent thereby giving Israel license for the main event.

I think Israel wants to take its foes out sequencially. They will need to keep Hezbollah out of the fight until Hamas and PLO are toast.

Not sure how they do that, but you can always mix it up with Hezbollah later. Those boys need little in the way of provocation to start up a scuffle. After Gaza and the West Bank are done, they will be hyper paranoid (with good reason) and on a hair trigger.

If they try to enter the fray at a low level of conflict, Israel can ignore them and not escalate until ready.

The Israeli rip off did not stop there.  Next they pulled a Clint and told all Hamas-ers that did not want to die to head out the back door.

DaveyJones-I am assessing the current situation not something in past history. If history were to teach us anything this kind of hatred by the Muslims has been going on for well over a 1,000 years. If you launch rockets at a country then you have to be prepared to accept the conswquences of your actions and be accountable for any of your citizens deaths. Hamas is the one repsonsible for any innocent civilians dying in this current conflict as they are the ones firing rockets and Israel is responding with force. As I stated earlier any country including us if we were being atacked would use force to stop it. To be honest I can't see why anybody would have a hard time understanding that. And no, I don't believe this is some conspiracy by Israel to start a middle east war.

Ok..I will bite...just exactly what am I clueless on regarding this current conflict? Apparently I am aware that rockets are being fired from the Gaza Strip by Hamas according to all the major networks and reuters news. And apparently Israel is responding using deadly force to take out the Hamas terrorist who are doing this. Do I have this assessment correct or do you have different information that the news people are all missing? I have eyes and see the rockets coming in from Gaza on the news video so logic tells me Hamas is firing rockets at Israel. Its pretty simple to come to that conclusion so enlightem me with your wisdom.

You believe the Israeli version of reality, you mean. Recall that the Israelis were also the ones that told us that Saddam had WMDs. Believe Zionists at your own risk.

You appear to lack historical context for what Zionism is. I suggest you read what's already been suggested to you (it appears you haven't). I'd add "Rome and Jerusalem" by Moses Hess to the list.

If you won't take my word for it - me, an ex-Zionist American Jew - then I hold out little hope for your present enlightenment.

Thank you bubblegum. Like our own murderous exploits overseas, we need more former "soldiers" like you who have seen the truth from the inside to help others see it as well. Only then will any of our people be safe.

In fact most of the Israeli officials at the time advised against a US invasion into Iraq.

Yes. You can find statement to the contrary, but recognize that Israel is a complex society and multiple angencies and parties like the US (which often speaks in multiple voices as well).

ex-zionist of not does not make a difference.

Understand that Jews as a community promote diversity of opinions and tolerate discent more so than most other communities and groups.

Therefore, an "ex-zionist" does not give the person more credibility, nor makes his text right.

They certainly do NOT "just want to live in peace"....they feel they have a right to own and rule almost the entire damn ME.

And that fact has been proven in literature.  They just can't say it out loud.

Ever heard of "Eretz Israel"?

The Zionist owned western media "forgets" to tell you that Israel has provoked every one of these rocket attacks!  Not hearing it on MSM does not mean its didn't happen.

Have you literally NO idea what Isrel does to Palestinians on a DAILY basis?

If not, then you need to do your research.

The MSM will not report that by far many more Palestinians (including children) were killed and wounded than in Israel.

Over the last 10 years, approx. 30 Israelis have died, whereas THOUSANDS of Palestinians have died.

puppy for prez-yes..Palestanians including children are getting killed as a result of Hamas firing rockets. Your anger should be directed at the Hamas terrorist who are directly responsible for each and everyone of the Palastanian deaths. The UN has been worthless in doing anything to address the Hamas terrorist group who has taken complete control of the Gaza Strip. Iran supports Hamas as does Egypt and others. Israel has one of two options dealing with Hamas and others. They can just ignore them and not defend themselves from any attacks or they can defend themselves and respond with force. What do you suggest and don't say Israel should just give up their country and leave as that is a cop out answer.

I wouldn't be surprised if, as our own Army Intelligence report said in 2001, that Hamas has been infiltrated by Mossad.  Every other extremist group has been, our intel says.

Israel LIES about who starts these skirmishes, anyway.  They got caught in one when they claimed Hamas broke a cease fire.

The big question is this:  What in the hell are the people in Gaza and the West Bank supposed to do when, on a daily basis, their homes are bulldozed, olive groves are cut down (their livelihood), their land stolen, and their people herded into ever-smaller little horrific prison camps....are they supposed to say, "Oh, okay, God's-Chosen-People...steal everything from us..."

Besides, it is a little known fact that Israel secretly endorses, supports, and sometimes funds (through 3rd party channels) Hamas, as they provide competition to Hezbollah, and provide Israel with the "evidence" that they are the eternal victims, NEVER the aggressors.  Hamas also serves to diffuse the efforts of the PLO.

Excuses for Israel just hold no honest intellectual water anymore.  And to think that I used to believe like you do....I'm ashamed of myself for being so mind-controlled!

Does lying and deceiving against Israel serves your narrow agenda, or are you paid to do that?

You are correct on one account.

Israel does fund and support Gaza (and by extension Hamas) via money, electricity, water and allowing passage of tons of supply from its ports.

You see, even though Gaza borders with Egypt, the supplies come through Israel...

Alas, Gaza led Hamas thanks Israel for its generosity with a rain of missles.

Just go and live for a month in one of the border towns being targeted on a weekly basis for years and decide for yourself based on experience rather than misguided "belief".

Or just go read the Hamas charter committed to the destruction of Israel (ALL of it) and killing Jews (regardless if they live in Israel). Did Israel author the Hamas charter?

And, what about the countless Palestinians killed and tortured by Hamas? (Is Israel is to be blamed for that, too?)

Now you can believe in anything you want.

Riddle me this.... All (99.9%) of Jews in the US are liberal, but all liberals hate Jews.....

FOR ONCE the US is doing the right thing, let the kids sort it out themselves.  Israel goes in to Gaza, Egypt tries to go into Israel....  Let it burn to the ground.... Watch from a safe distance and cut aid to both sides.....

Likewise let Muzzy kill Muzzy in Syria

I do not like to see anyone die needlessly, and there is a lot of that going around. But your basic premise is correct. After 911 the US should have nuked Kanadhar and said next. Millions of lives and trillions of dollars would have been saved.

Isreal has made genuie peace offers to Palistine, and been rejected. So I have no sympathy for Hammas and its followers. Bite of your nose to spite your face and their is a good chance your going to bleed to death.

Its time for Isreal to declare its borders, twenty years from now everyone will be singing kumbaya.

You are misguided at best (or a liar at worst).

Let me explain.

1) No technology can hermetically stop these rockets. Think about a simple gun, 200 year technology, and still there is no credibly flawless defense against it.

2) The available technologies are EXPENSIVE. A Katusha costs $10K (at most), stopping one costs $250K (if not more). This asymetry limits the practicallity of the limited anti-missle technologies.

3) How much would your patience hold being a target for endless string of rocket and missle attacks (yes, this is going on for years, it just become must worse in the recent weeks).

Gaza (Hamas and friends) shooting missles into Israel is not news, unless Israel defends itself actively.

Hamas was firing into Israel for the past years, virtually every week, nearly every day - in fact.

Hamas increased the frequency and number of rockets and missles in the past frew weeks - believing Israel will just swallow this shit.

FWIW, Hamas is committed to killing all Jews without descrimination (kids, women, man - regardless whether they live in Israel).

Hamas seems quite practical in targeting Israelies as they live nearby, but Hamas did attack Jews in other countries.
