The One Time When More Is Certainly Not Better

Presented with little comment - except to say, maybe those Mayans were on to something?

Religion is a psychological method of control that has been used for millenia.  Isn't it ironic that both Germans and Americans had the same God on their side in WW2?  So pious, but so anxious to kill those other people who worship the same god (Christians vs Muslims vs Jews).  Quite a pity that the Romans destroyed so much of the origins of religion in their assault on an educated citizenry.

Myself, I believe in God, but I do not believe in religion.  What of the Bible (Torah)?  It is a collection of stories, some historical fact, much plagarized and spun from other religions.  Brainwashed since birth, the populus will refuse to accept the truth much the same as they refuse to believe that the CL A shareholders of JPM & GS are the true owners of the Federal Reserve.  That the Goy servants of our elected government, cater to their agenda.

There are three big scams in this world:  Religion, War and the Creation of Money.

Fellow I knew (long gone now) was a dispatch rider in WWII. He said marching into Berlin a fleeing German had written on a wall "Got mitt uns" and an American soldier wrote underneath "We got mittens too"

I find the comments on this post to be a fascinating example of cognitive dissonance. ZH readers tend to be number crunchers, day traders, hedge fund managers, and fans of austrian monetary theory.

The normally astute and logical reader audience seemed at a loss of what to say about this chart. Some opined about Mayans and Biblical Prophecy, some made jokes, but many doubted the motive/credibility of the post without forming coherent questions or thoughts.

Check out this comment:

“This is the kind of post that makes people point to ZH and say that we’re a bunch of conspiricy theorists.  Fiat money is a disaster of our own making.  Earthquakes and Volcanos?  Those kinds of disasters are not increasing in frequency.  Chart or no chart, that is actually crazy talk. ”

Really, Chart or No Chart? Crazy talk? Why not just logically examine the evidence and consider it?

It's really not the frequency but the magnitude...

Very odd chart. Looks like disasters peeked with the economy.

My balls itch. I don't care about the fricking Mayans when my balls itch. Does the Bible have any helpful information about itchy balls? Like Scrotum 3:12 or something? No, well, carry on but it all is really insignificant in the bigger scheme of things.

I expected to see a graph that showed something like central banks printing money right up today. Not some GS BS that must of had a great propoganda piece along side it that urged the reader to buy cabon credits. Newsflash. It aint the weather that is going to end the world as we know it, it'll be elite bankers and their war loving friends that will.

Sweet, a video of NatGeo's preppers is making it's round - look it up on Youtube "Doomsday Preppes - Extreme Prep Edition (FULL EPISODE)"

Fun to watch, but not sure how practical or realistic some of the preppers are.

If you count them by media reports no wonder this is how it looks.

It would be more informative to count deaths in disasters per capita. Or maybe ratio of disaster deaths to other deaths.

Funny the mayans could see the end of the planet but could not predict their impending demise

Would be interesting to see this overlayed with the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

Careful what may be considered prophecy.  When repeated over and over again, the sub conscious accepts it and moves toward it - otherwise known as a self fulfilling prophecy.

In short.  We make it up.  We talk about it repeatedly.  Then we do it.  Not much wisdom/prophecy in that.

Acording to Mark Twain, there are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.

Here is another chart ( from the same source ) showing that one mans heavy rain is another mans natural disaster

My theory is probably the most unbelievable of all the ideas put forward so far.

I think the only thing that will happen on Dec 21 is that the Homo sapiens take a giant leap forward and becomes much smarter than it currently is, transforming this community of Sheeple ruled by idiots into heaven on earth :)

You are a lucky man FreedomGuy to be born to accept the only true god, jesus. Those poor sap jews and arabs if only they could be as fortunate as you. The turmoil between arabs and jews was "predicted" you say. While much of the world may fear the armageeddon you will bask in it's glory for this is also is predicted. god creates this world, subjects humans to untold suffering and misery, then he destroys the world. Genius.
