Newtown Shooter Identified As [Unclear First Name] Lanza From New Jersey
Update 3: Final sequence of events: as we expected, cops confuse name, CNN reports it, and media goes wild. From the AP: "Adam Lanza's older brother, Ryan, 24, of Hoboken, N.J., is being questioned by police, said the first official. Earlier, a law enforcement official mistakenly transposed the brothers' first names."
Update 2: the reason for the confusion is that the first name reported today by CNN and promptly carried by the rest of the media, Ryan Lanza, may be incorrect, and should likely be Adam Lanza. At this point until the police correctly identify the suspect it is probably best to ignore all further updates from CNN or otherwise on the matter.

A quick Facebook scan has identified one Mr. Ryan Lanza in the 18-24 year old age group, out of Hoboken, NJ who lists Newtown, CT as his home city. There is one unconfirmed account of a suspect born in Newtown, CT and currently living in Hoboken, NJ, although it appears it is not the suspect in question. The mother of the suspect was a teacher at the Sandy Hook school, and she is among the dead.

If this doesn’t seem suspicious to folks then I am sorry. We get one of the greatest rulings in US history concerning the right to bear arms, and within a week this happens! I’m sorry, but there is no way that is a coincidence. Look how many of these mass shootings we have had under the Obama administration; Have you forgotton "Fast & Furious?" It seems a little strange to say the least!

They keep losing in the courts, so they are doing everything they can to win in Congress.
I am deeply saddened by this and I can’t imagine what those that lost their children are feeling.

I suspect we'll never know, for certain, but the brain bank will probably provide an incredible amount of clues. My guess is that it's a combination of trauma (probably in formative years), re-enforced abuse, and drug use (most likely prescribed... probably for mental condition)... in addition to being genetically predisposed... and, often times, having external support for the plans (e.g. an accomplice, internet forums, friends, acquaintances, etc.) or a complete lack of response to countless cries for help. It's a recipe we'll likely never find out, but I think we know and/or can surmise as to most of the ingredients.

I cannot help but wonder if the "end of the world 12/21/2012" is playing a part in pushing the borderline suicidal/insane over the edge.
