Carl Marx would be proud of Obama's nomination.  No fiscal control, no budget for years, now gun control and partisanship that never ends.  Just the redistribution of the wealth should make Carl Marx come alive again.  Maybe Carl Marx has risen again and is now the US President.  As time passes, Time maybe right but not for the reasons cited.

How much do you want to bet that even if Romney had won, that photo of Obama would still be on that cover of Time.

It looks like they are giving an artist an idea for the bronze statue of Obama that will replace Lincoln in the monument.

You know they are going to put an Obamument in Washington. If they put a statue of Tubbs Jones in Cleveland, they are going to put Obama in Washington. Then the domination will be complete.

None of the stuff you mentioned was executive order. Tough to see how any of them would be impeachable, either.

But my point is: PRACTICALLY speaking, Congress can't really impeach anymore. Since the Clinton fiasco, it'd be very hard to prevent it from being considered a partisan witch-hunt. Talk about unintended consequences.

The Person of the Year is clearly The Corporation, and it's not even close:

Indeed, as global economies struggle for growth, the only institutions showing much adaptability to the world-spanning economy are multinational companies that operate in many jurisdictions, seizing opportunities and extracting value at will. People are limited by their physicality, their mortality and, in some cases, an unwillingness to make quarterly earnings their guiding principle. The corporate person as a globe-spanning abstraction, potentially immortal and amorally efficient, is by far the better symbol of our times.

In awarding our person of the year award to “the corporation,” we hope we have at least made one thing clear: “Person of the year” is a fairly silly analytical concept.

since when is being critical of the TOTUS racist? ZH is not a team red vs team blue website as the overwhelming majority of posters here get that there is no real difference between the two parties that rule DC.if you were hear during the elections you undoubtedly noticed there was not a lot of love for mittens going around.

and talk about pseudo intellectual? opening with the "racist pigs" blast doesn't show much for you except that you seem to have fallen nicely in line with the main stream propagandized sheeple groupthink (i.e any criticism of Obama must be motivated by race).

funny thing is many of us ZH white supremacist neo nazis take Obama to task and call him out over his drone killings and military actions in the MENA region, which as you know is filled to the rafters with white people right?

he may not be the man in charge, he has his masters to answer to, that goes with out saying, but he is still the point man for the mass murdering, job killing, thieving regime that runs DC so any hits he takes for winning person of the year are well deserved.

well he did get elected on the promise of change, and when he didn't produce any change , he got reelected on the same promise. he did get a peace prize before he managed two different wars. people did stop talking about w bush being the worst president ever. he signed a bill which mandates that poor americans pay insurance premiums for healthcare. he personally ordered the murder of osama bin laden, without trial, or questioning then had his body thrown in the ocean. he personally approves drone killings of american citizens. gitmo remains open for business. yes obama is man of the year, so were a lot of other worthless tyrants.

Now and then Husk wanders over to Huffpo just to read the comments and try to catch the drift of suburban, coastal, lib thought.  My impression lately is that cracks may be forming in the sheepy groupthink.  This is becoming more and more apparent (from a Huffpo "super user"):

I voted for him twice BUT can't help but question:

IS OBAMA A TROJAN HORSE?

Was Pres. Obama put into office to do what no Republican could ever have gotten away with?

Extended the wars

Gitmo still up and running

Extended the Bush tax cuts for the rich

Gave additional bailout money to the banks

Allowed the health insurance industry to write the healthcare bill

Extended the Patriot Act

Signed the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act)

War-on-Terror torture investigation closed WITHOUT CHARGES.

Ground was (quietly) broken for southern leg of Keystone Pipeline.

Remains in bed with Goldman Sachs, Exxon Mobile, and GE.

And

PRES. OBAMA'S ADMINISTRATION IS FILLED WITH BUSH HOLDOVERS.

Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner, the point man on the economy, relied on holdovers from the Bush administration to shape Obama's policies, and botched his debut so badly that he helped send markets off a cliff.

Lib awakening?  Can't be good news for Choomba.

To be fair, Time's definition for the award is the person or group of persons that have most influenced world affairs. It says nothing about positively or negatively influenced; just the person that has influenced world affairs the most. Since inception of the mention in 1927, it appears most US presidents have been featured but a handful.

After Richard Stengel from TIME magazine announced its pick for 2008 Person of the Year – President-elect Barack Obama – NBC’s First Read “took a look back to see which magazine – Time or Newsweek – won the battle of who put Obama on the cover most in 2008: Domenico Montanaro wrote on December 17, 2008:

“Time has featured Obama on its cover 14 times since Jan. 1 (2008). Newsweek was close behind, featuring the now-president-elect on 12 of its issues. Time has had 52 issues in 2008, so Obama has been featured on more than one-in-four of its covers, or about 27% of the time.

“That number, though, goes even higher if you include how many times Obama has appeared in the "skybox" -- 11 times.

“That means Obama's face or name [in the 2008 presidential election year] has somehow made it onto the cover of Time just about half of the time this year (25 out of 52 issues -- 48%).

“Newsweek has had 49 issues this year so far (through Dec. 22, 2008), so Obama has been featured on about a quarter of its covers as well.

“In contrast, the Republican nominee, John McCain, made the cover of Newsweek just four times the entire year, and twice he shared it -- once with Obama and once with Sarah Palin.”

http://firstread.nbcnews.com/_news/2008/12/17/4432215-obama-appeared-on-half-of-time-covers?lite

In that Stengel once again has chosen Obama as Time’s “man,” it would be interesting to know how many times Obama and Michelle made Time’s cover during the 2012 election year as compared with Ron Paul and Mitt Romney.

More like "Puppet of the year".

Obama has never hold a real job in his entire life. He lied and cheated his way into Chicago politics after his university studies. Oh, his college transcripts are still hidden and people who graduated the same year as Obama and people who studied the exact same programme as Obama can't recall any memories of him actually being in the school.

His father doesn't look anything like him (but Frank Marshall Davis do). Nah, fuck it. He's just a big fraud that conned the entire world.
